00:00Good morning. It's a 7 a.m. hour of Fox and Friends weekend starting with this Florida officers and ICE agents teaming up to arrest 800 illegal aliens. What we know about that operation and tidal wave up next.
00:19Plus deal or no deal. President Trump calls out Putin after this iconic meeting with Zelensky yesterday. State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce breaks it all down with us shortly and cracking a cold one with the vice president. The incredible video this week of Vance pouring beers for service members as team Trump makes America normal again. The second hour of Fox and Friends weekend starts right now.
00:49I'm questioning whether or not he really wants to end the war. Madeline Rivera is live in Washington with the latest. Maddie, good morning.
00:58Good morning, guys. So the initial assessment from both sides of the roughly 15 minute meeting is that the conversations were positive. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky saying in part hoping for results on everything we covered, protecting lives of our people, full and unconditional ceasefire, reliable and lasting peace that will prevent another war from breaking out.
01:19Very symbolic meeting that has potential to become historic if we achieve joint results. He goes on to thank the president, a shift in tone after their argument at the Oval Office in February.
01:29But in a new truth social post, President Trump questions Russian President Vladimir Putin's commitment to end the war, pointing to his attacks on civilian areas over the last few days. The president saying it makes me think that maybe he does not want to stop the war. He's just tapping me along.
01:46The president goes on to suggest tougher sanctions on Russia if it does not cooperate. That post yesterday coming only a day after the president said Russia and Ukraine were close to a deal. There may be one major sticking point. The president tells Time magazine Crimea will stay with Russia.
02:03That's despite Ukrainian officials maintaining that land Russia annexed in 2014 is Ukraine's. A lawmaker with Zelensky's party saying we will never recognize Crimea as part of Russia. So the president is back in the United States in Bedminster, New Jersey. We'll see if he'll have any more reaction to the peace talks later on today. Charlie, Rachel and Griff.
02:22Thank you, Mattie, you got it. Well, yesterday you had Father Sirocco on the show that you were on. And here's what he had to say about this iconic picture.
02:32And we're going to break it down as well, because I I think this is the takeaway from yesterday's funeral. Frankly, watch.
02:39The image of Zelensky and President Trump in St. Peter's Basilica, I think could be the most enduring, depending on what happens now in this situation, could be the most enduring because it really symbolizes exactly what I'm saying here, where people have tense disagreements, but can come together in the context of the church and talk them out, perhaps find a solution.
03:06I'm I'm praying for that to happen. And not just with Zelensky and Ukraine and Russia and all that, but with all of those European leaders that were there, because there's great tensions with the United States and Europe as well.
03:19OK, guys, I want to say two points about this. One, Donald Trump upstaged the pope at the funeral on the takeaway from the funeral.
03:28Are you supposed to do that at a funeral? It just happened. But it happened for a good reason.
03:32And the reason I think, actually, ironically, that Pope Francis would have agreed with, because one thing you could say about Pope Francis is he was very anti-war, always calling for peace.
03:43And that that meeting of, you know, Donald Trump trying to bring about peace in that moment inside of St. Peter's Cathedral is amazing.
03:52The other point is Donald Trump doesn't stop working. He goes to the funeral and he's still working.
03:57He's trying to bring world peace right there at the Vatican. And then, you guys, the visuals.
04:04I mean, I kept it really. I told you, Charlie, it didn't sink into me till after the show, because we saw these images in real time yesterday.
04:11And it's just everything about it is so cinematic.
04:16I mean, the marble Vatican floors, the red chairs with the gold, you know, the cassocks of the priests leading them.
04:25And then, Charlie, I want you to break down just how he basically dissed Macron in the process.
04:31So, yeah, we'll get to that. But just to stay on this for a second, you know, after Trump worked at McDonald's for a day and drove the garbage truck,
04:40everybody was talking about how he was like a modern political Andy Warhol.
04:45And he is. It's amazing. He has the most amazing, magnificent eye.
04:50It's like he's the Martin Scorsese of political imagery.
04:54And that image right there, people, you're not going to forget it.
04:57And we pray for peace and we hope that peace breaks out.
05:00And if peace breaks out, this will be the memory.
05:04This will be the image of peace in Ukraine if, in fact, they are able to achieve it.
05:09But it's that ability to to to to visualize it the way Trump does, the way not the way like, you know, a consultant would look at it,
05:19but the way millions and millions of regular people would see it.
05:23And if you notice a minute ago, when when they when he walked out, there were actually three chairs there.
05:30And Emmanuel Macron of France is walking over there to apparently join the three.
05:34Trump looks at the three stools and he goes, no, we're not doing this.
05:38And he gets one of the chairs taken away.
05:40He turns around to Macron and says, no, you're out of here.
05:43We're we're going to do this alone.
05:45And so the picture would have been completely different if it had been three of them.
05:48It was the two of them in that in that visceral image.
05:52And that was exerting American power there.
05:55France. No, thank you.
05:56I don't think we need you here.
05:58I'm I'm going to broker this deal.
06:00But you you were with Biden, by the way, extending this war, funding and fueling this war.
06:05You were part of the problem that allowed this to happen.
06:07Thank you. One last point.
06:09You know, you mentioned, Charlie, about, you know, if peace is the end result, it'll it'll be the enduring.
06:15But I think it's I think regardless, it's the enduring photo, because when President Trump, with so many countries vying for his attention with tariff deals and everything else, he was the guy that every other world leader was dying to get face time.
06:28And President Trump sending a message that in this is what I think Pope Francis would agree with.
06:34Nothing's more important than peace.
06:36Yes. And that photo shows you that his top priority was taking the opportunity to use his time to work towards peace.
06:45And that's why it will be the photo that really stands out.
06:49A thousand percent. One final moment.
06:51You I saw a vision of of a face to face confession of Dana.
06:56Dana Preena was here yesterday.
06:57She did a great job of just contrasting that moment with the tense moments in the Oval Office.
07:04But Charlie saw a Charlie saw the Godfather in this moment.
07:09And there is something very cinematic.
07:10And as you said, you know, Scorsese about this moment.
07:14But of course, it also came with Melania, who was dressed to the I mean, perfect.
07:19She was like the Sophia Loren in this in this movie that that Charlie is pictured for us.
07:24I mean, it was remarkable.
07:26No matter how you feel about Donald Trump, whether you voted for him or not, you had to be proud as an American to see your president.
07:34So strong, taking that moment, not just to pay respects in such a beautiful way as he is right there in front of the casket, but going inside of the of the cathedral and attempting to bring about world peace.
07:46And then Melania just killing you and you would not have had the Godfather movies without the funerals.
07:52Yeah, you had to have the funeral.
07:53Of course, this is just too much.
07:55I can't I can go on forever.
07:57We got to move on.
07:57Well, well, well, meanwhile, while that's happening, Tom Holman's team back here, not slowing down in the least bit.
08:05But this really was a remarkable operation called Tidal Wave down in Florida, ICE arresting over 800 illegal immigrants, many of them criminals.
08:15One of them was a Colombian illegal convicted of homicide, Rafael Juarez Cabrera, a Guatemalan illegal in this 13 gang member with multiple entries convicted of felony reentry.
08:27There was even a Russian illegal who was on the red notice Interpol out of Russia for manslaughter.
08:34I mean, they they went out and they rounded up in a place that typically doesn't run these type of operations.
08:40Florida, South Florida, Miami's never done anything to this level and got the bad guys off the street.
08:46And how many of these guys came over since Trump became president?
08:51Well, zero, zero, zero, not a single one of them.
08:54Yeah. I mean, listen, when I'm out on the street, Charlie and Rachel, people are like, hey, when are you going to the border next?
09:01And I tell people probably never because there's nothing happening.
09:04They shut it down. Both you and I have interviewed people who have said I wouldn't have, you know, during the during the wave of people coming over under the Biden years when the border was open, who said, no, I would have never done this when Donald Trump was in office.
09:17They did it because they saw the opportunity. They knew that not only could they get through, they'd get paid to get through like they get flown to where they want to go.
09:27They get a debit card. They get a hotel. It was it was an absolute deliberate intent on the part of this administration.
09:35Griff Jenkins is like the Maytag repairman. You've got nothing left to do.
09:39But this is a perfect example of why politicians, and this is true, sadly, of both parties, never, ever solve a problem.
09:47If you solve a problem, then your avenue for raising money and getting elected goes away.
09:54And nobody in Washington ever wants to solve a problem.
09:56And you just put Griff out of like his whole beat was the border.
10:00Yeah. He's out of work now.
10:01He's covering bedding in the Himalayas.
10:05Yeah. Well, I'll tell you one thing worth doing is maybe going at some point out, you know, defense secretary, Pete Hegseth just made a trip to the military reservation now space in California, where if illegals cross there, they're going to be charged with trespassing.
10:19That's fascinating. Although when I go back to Washington story, a lot of people are talking about is getting parental rights back in the hands of parents.
10:29You think it's common sense and it should always be there. But no, that's not the case.
10:33We've got the Supreme Court likely to rule on that case of parents wanting to opt out from books in school for kindergartners, young kids, which could have national implications.
10:43It was the exchange with Justice Gorsuch.
10:46So we're talking about books that are called Pride Puppy in a book about a night that falls in love with another guy.
10:54These are being read by children. I actually covered this in Montgomery County, Maryland.
10:57Two children and parents from all different faiths, Christian, Muslim, were all in this original town hall saying, we don't want this.
11:06We want the option simply to opt our kids out to not have to be read books like The Prince of the Night and others.
11:13And so during, as the Supreme Court, this is now going to the Supreme Court, as they're sort of trying to find out exactly what's going on, this exchange is quite fascinating.
11:23Justice Gorsuch asking about these books and even Kagan, a liberal justice, a bit shocked by it. Listen here.
11:31And they're being used in English language instruction at age three.
11:38Some of them.
11:39So Pride Puppy was the book that was used for the pre-kindergarten curriculum. That's no longer in the curriculum.
11:44That's the one where they are supposed to look for the leather and things and bondage, things like that.
11:49It's not bondage. It's a woman and a leather.
11:51Sex worker.
11:52No.
11:53No?
11:53That's not correct.
11:54No.
11:55Oh, my gosh. I read it.
11:57It's a drag queen.
11:58Drag queen.
11:58Drag queen and drag queen.
12:00I want to take you back to some of the questions that Justice Alito was asking because I, too, was struck by these are young kids, picture books, and on matters concerning sexuality.
12:14I suspect there are a lot of non-religious parents who weren't all that thrilled about this.
12:18And then you, you know, add in religion, and that's, you know, even more serious.
12:28It's not bondage. It's just leather.
12:30Did you ever think you would hear a Supreme Court justice talking about bondage and leather and talking about books for kindergarten?
12:38And so disingenuous, saying, no, no, this is not meant to influence anybody.
12:42Like, we're just presenting stuff, and it's no big deal.
12:45But these are the same people who would say you can't put, for example, you know, Joe Camel.
12:52You know, like, that would influence kids to smoke, but this is not meant to influence.
12:57It's clearly it's time for parents to stand up.
13:01They all have been saying that.
13:02You talked about illegal immigration being one of the issues that drove this election.
13:06So did parental rights.
13:07And this, let me just put it this way.
13:10Anybody who wants to do this to children, wants to introduce children to topics they're not interested in in kindergarten and at all, they're just not interested in this, they're weirdos.
13:21And you should not want to talk to other kids about these issues if they're not your kids.
13:26Your mom, what would you have done if you would have seen one of these books coming home with your kid?
13:31I would have lost it.
13:32I would have absolutely lost it.
13:34But that's why I took, I don't have my kids in government schools.
13:37Right, exactly.
13:37Because I don't trust the government for exactly this reason.
13:39But you still pay for them.
13:39You still pay for government schools.
13:40Well, what I'm hoping, and one of the reasons why I voted for Donald Trump was, I'm hoping that we can get school choice.
13:46And then the money comes to the family, and the family can make the choice.
13:49And if that's what you want for your kid, great.
13:51But so much of this is happening, it's not just that it's happening, it's happening without informing parents, without consent of parents.
13:58What does it say about an adult who wants to talk about these things with a child?
14:03And it's comically ridiculous, and we can sort of, and it's kind of hard not to laugh at some of this stuff, but it's really serious.
14:09It's like, I don't know, maybe these people should be, like, profiled.
14:12Well, and these Moms for Liberty, just to be very clear, what they're asking, they're not even asking that the books not be in the school.
14:19They're just saying, I have a problem with it, I want to opt out, and they don't even have that option.
14:24Yeah.
14:25These are indoctrination camps, and we need to change it.
14:28All right, we're going to turn now to some of your headlines.
14:30Authorities now confirming nine people were killed after a driver piled through their SUV into a crowd during a Vancouver street festival last night.
14:39The suspected driver has been arrested.
14:41Several other people were also hurt.
14:43The Canadian prime minister says he's, quote, devastated by the horrific events.
14:47Local police say they are confident this was not an act of terrorism.
14:52The man accused of stealing Homeland Security Chief Kristi Noem's purse in D.C. last week is in the country, no surprise, illegally.
15:01A Washington, D.C. attorney says the suspect is in custody after being arrested yesterday.
15:07The lawyer says the suspect knew what he was doing, but does not believe he targeted Noem because of her role in the government.
15:14That's bad luck right there.
15:15Yeah, that's just super bad luck.
15:16He's expected to appear in court this week.
15:20And have you ever had that super catchy part of a song just stick in your head?
15:29This song is never going to stop.
15:31Have you ever dealt with something so relentlessly irritating?
15:34Well, if you're anything like Sheldon and that earworm just will not go away, scientist says it's actually because you subconsciously feel compelled to sing along with it.
15:48And the most common way to remove it is to just sing the song all the way through to the end or simply listen to another song.
15:55That's not true.
15:57That does not work.
15:58That won't work if you don't know all the words.
16:00If you just know the one phrase that's stuck in your head.
16:02You have a phone.
16:03You can pick up the phone and, like, get the lyrics if you wanted to.
16:07I'm not sure that's a remedy that'll work, though.
16:08I don't think it will.
16:09No.
16:09What is the song that sticks in your head, Charlie?
16:11I walk around all the time whistling or humming Amazing Grace, mainly because you're in New York City and it's crazy and you have to always be reminding yourself of Amazing Grace.
16:23The other day.
16:23We thought it was Star Wars.
16:25Well, sometimes I'll switch over.
16:27But otherwise, it's Amazing Grace.
16:28There's a lot of difference in there.
16:29But the other day I was walking by somebody and for some reason I was going there and I stopped for a minute.
16:35And then a total stranger that I didn't know picked up and whistled the end of it for me.
16:41That's in New York City.
16:42In New York City.
16:43It happened like two days ago.
16:44That's amazing.
16:45And that was Amazing Grace?
16:46It was a miracle.
16:46It was a miracle.
16:47No, it was Amazing Grace.
16:49Okay.
16:49Wasn't that touching?
16:50I thought it was.
16:51What about you?
16:51That is very touching.
16:52Actually, I'm still thinking about the Kristi Noam story.
16:55I can't believe that, you know, that happened.
16:58Of all the purses to steal.
17:00Well, and how did it happen?
17:01Because you would think she's pretty well guarded.
17:03Yeah.
17:03Yeah, exactly.
17:04So that's something that has me thinking.
17:06But also, like, this guy, it's like, if you're going to take anyone's purse, that's the wrong person to take.
17:13Yeah.
17:13And we don't know for sure that, as an illegal, he didn't act because he knew who she was.
17:19They say they don't believe that.
17:20He's going to be in court.
17:21It would be interesting to see what he has to say.
17:24Could be.
17:25Yeah.
17:26Fascinating.
17:26I'm open to anything now.
17:28Yeah.
17:29That's for sure.
17:30All right.
17:31Well, President Trump is threatening Russia with sanctions after his meeting with Zelensky at the Pope's funeral.
17:36State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce is here with the latest.
17:43This morning, Russia bracing for potential new sanctions after President Trump met with Ukrainian President Zelensky at the Pope's funeral yesterday.
17:51Trump warning, quote, there was no reason for Putin to be shooting missiles into civilian areas, cities and towns over the last few days.
17:59Makes me think that maybe he doesn't want to stop the war.
18:03He's just tapping me along and has to be dealt with differently through banking or secondary sanctions.
18:09State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce joins us now.
18:12Thank you so much.
18:13Great to see you.
18:14Good morning, everybody.
18:15Welcome back to the couch.
18:17So where do things stand right now?
18:19Well, look, obviously, it was that you guys talked about it, that iconic photo president being able to talk to President Zelensky.
18:27That was important, especially that was the first time they saw each other since the Oval Office test up.
18:31So that was helpful.
18:33It clearly seems to have been at the same time.
18:35You know, we remember Palm Sunday and that horrible rocket attack on that day.
18:41And everyone it was, you know, Ukraine had agreed to 30 day full ceasefire.
18:45Right.
18:45They've been agreeing throughout this entire process.
18:48And both Secretary Rubio and President Trump have noted that we would know and we should judge Russia based on their actions, not what they say.
18:57So the actions clearly that the president has seen, that we've all seen, are not really up to snuff now, are they?
19:03And also the secretary had noted, Secretary Rubio at NATO.
19:06And from then on, was that in NATO, it would be a matter of weeks if we would know if Russia was serious.
19:12Now it's a matter of of days.
19:13And he's correct.
19:14So the president believes that something's possible.
19:17He's an optimistic man, but he's also realistic.
19:20So he really genuinely look, he's the best dealmaker in the world.
19:23There's no reason why this can't stop.
19:25And he knows that.
19:27So he wants to get that done.
19:28He's determined to get it done.
19:30But he also understands that it has to now be done by the parties involved.
19:36And I think that that's where we're at.
19:37And perhaps Putin is going to react more to the idea of a problem now with oil, oil sanctions and banking sanctions.
19:46He was not able to go, of course, to the funeral because he's got, I guess, an arrest warrant out for him for the invasion of Ukraine.
19:53I would think that it's about, you know, you can be an oligarch, but you don't want to only be able to vacation in North Korea.
20:00Right.
20:00You want to be able to go and live in the world with other nations.
20:05Yeah.
20:05And let's move to this other topic because there's so much going on right now.
20:08It's amazing the amount of topics, you know, Donald Trump is handling at one time.
20:13An active man.
20:13He's making a lot happen.
20:14Yeah.
20:15Like we said, he's even working at the funeral.
20:17Trump is calling on Secretary of State Rubio, your boss, to make sure that American military and commercial ships can travel through the Panama and Suez Canal.
20:25Of course.
20:26This is a massive deal for these shippers, for these corporations that need this.
20:32So talk to us about that and how that could shake out.
20:35Look, the United States obviously built the Panama Canal.
20:39You know, the Suez Canal now is part of the conversation as well.
20:42The American consumer, American power, American leadership has saved the world many times over at this point.
20:50We are currently saving the world now through President Trump's leadership and Marco Rubio's diplomacy.
20:56And so this is about not getting ripped off anymore.
20:59It's about fairness.
21:00This isn't some special perk we want.
21:03It's about taking us back to being to having some fairness for the nature of the strength of the certainly the American economy, because the world relies on that.
21:12So it's it's not a selfish thing.
21:14Every single thing we do, whether it's about talking to NATO and that they need to boost up their own defense or us having fair economic deals around the world, that if those things don't happen, there will be chaos.
21:26So, yes, what happens to be in America's best interest also happens to be in the world's best interest.
21:32So this is this makes all the sense in the world.
21:35It's a no brainer.
21:36It's got to happen.
21:38And Donald Trump, interestingly, once again, is the first man to really bring this up to.
21:44He's he's he's he's the person who can get it done as well.
21:47So walk me through this, because you were part of the original Panama meetings that Secretary Rubio led to ultimately get our warships now able to pass through.
21:57And the president's tweet sort of suggests that your boss needs to now reengage and look at both the Suez Canal, but then also the regular ships.
22:07When I was speaking to the Panama Canal authority boss, you know, he was saying, well, you know, we've got to charge boats because we're continuing to pay for, you know, development of a more modern canal.
22:20So what is the next play for your boss?
22:23What happens next?
22:24Well, that was recently we heard that from the president.
22:27So I won't discuss the details, the nature of what the president is going to discuss with the secretary of state or the process of that.
22:33But the president and the secretary have been very clear from the start is that this has been an unfair deal, but also because of China's involvement.
22:42Panama has been a terrific ally.
22:44They got rid of the Belt and Road initiative with China.
22:48They've indicated that, of course, they understand why we would want to be able to move through the canal freely.
22:54There's, of course, other economic deals being discussed.
22:58And so this is, I think, a reminder that we're serious.
23:00But but this is really the key to the nature of the supply chain.
23:05It's about the American business.
23:07It's about the economic relationship between these countries and us.
23:11This is all in all of their interests and it's in ours.
23:15And those negotiations will continue.
23:17So I took away from that.
23:18Stay tuned.
23:19Stay tuned.
23:20As we know, President Trump does not say something unless he means to really make it happen.
23:25So this is this is the trajectory.
23:28And I think we should expect some news.
23:30I know certainly Secretary Rubio delivers as well.
23:33We've got to leave it there.
23:34Tammy, thanks for being here.
23:35My pleasure.
23:35Thanks, you guys.
23:36Thanks, Tammy.
23:36So great having you back.
23:37Thank you, dear.
23:38All right.
23:38A new movie is diving into the miraculous story of the first millennial saint.
23:44We're going to talk to the film's producer about this next.
23:47And we're checking back with Rick as he prepares for race day in Talladega.
23:52There he is.
23:53It's a NASCAR party.
23:56Come on and get around it.
23:57Get around it.
23:59Welcome back.
24:02May is National Moving Month.
24:03And Pods can help you with any big trips, including to the racetrack.
24:08Rick Reichmuth joins us live from Talladega.
24:10Hey, Rick.
24:12Hey, Griff.
24:13This is our Pods.
24:14It brought our stuff all down.
24:16You can go to Pods.
24:17If you go to Pods.com, put in Biggest 30, you can get 30% off of your move in May.
24:23Take advantage of that.
24:24Good deal.
24:25It helped us get down here for sure.
24:27I don't know if you remember, Griff.
24:28I don't know if you were watching a couple years ago.
24:29We were inside the track.
24:31We're right here now on the backstretch.
24:33But I took our Fox Weather Beast around the track a few times.
24:35I almost lost my career, my life, and got in big trouble because I almost wrecked it on the track.
24:40But pretty amazing.
24:41Today, the race is going to be a beautiful day.
24:43Weather is looking so nice.
24:45We've had a lot of rainy years and a lot of years right here in the south in severe weather season.
24:50None of that is happening today.
24:51We're going to have temperatures into the lower 80s, tons of sunshine.
24:54The race is going to go off and all the fans are going to be having an amazing day here because the weather is going to be looking really good.
25:00I want to just tell you, though, one little warning spot.
25:03Got to tell you, the Northern Plains tomorrow, big severe weather threat, tornado threat, areas of Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
25:08Be watching for that for tomorrow.
25:11Today, though, things are looking really good here across Talladega.
25:14Guys, send it back to you.
25:16Well, you got gorgeous weather, Rick.
25:19But promise me, with gorgeous weather, you'll stay out of the weather beast and not get on that track today.
25:25I'm going to see what I can do.
25:29See if they let me back on.
25:30By the way, while I've got you, just when you've been on that track, what is it like?
25:36Just a short answer, because we know at Talladega, they call it Super Speedway because they're drafting at 190 miles an hour.
25:43Yeah, well, I was on it by myself.
25:45It was a weird thing, I've got to be honest with you.
25:47One of those things where you're like, does anybody know that they've let me do this?
25:50I took off.
25:50There was nobody on the track, just me and the Fox weather beast.
25:53This day of the race, I was going like 95 around the track in this.
25:58And it was at the time, the truck was brand new.
26:01It had just come out like that week.
26:03And I was driving.
26:04I was like, who's stopping me?
26:06Why are they letting me do this?
26:08And it was going like 94.
26:09And it's like a 33-degree turn.
26:12It was like one of the highlights of life.
26:14It was great.
26:15Stay out of that truck.
26:16All right, Rick Regmuth, we'll check back in with you a little bit later.
26:19Meanwhile, as Rick mentioned, you can visit pods.com and use that promo code, BIGGEST30, to save on your moving and storage.
26:27Rachel, we'll send it over to you.
26:29All right, thank you, Griff.
26:30Well, a new documentary is hitting theaters today.
26:33And it follows a group of teens as they learn about the remarkable life of the first millennial saint, Carlo Acutis.
26:40Not really expecting to get a lot out of it from the religious point of it.
26:48I want to have a good time, have Italian food.
26:50I always questioned, is God real?
26:52The attraction of Carlo Acutis is that he's a young millennial saint who was technologically savvy.
26:59His goal is to get people off of his website back into church.
27:03Jim Wahlberg worked on the film, Carlo Acutis, The Roadmap to Reality, and he joins us now.
27:11Jim, it's so great to have you on.
27:13For those who don't know about this young man who died, I believe, in 2006, he's about to be canonized a saint.
27:20By the way, his canonization was postponed because of the Pope's funeral.
27:24But tell us who he is and why he's going to be up for canonization.
27:30Why will he be a saint?
27:31Yeah, so it's interesting.
27:34First of all, thank you so much for having me.
27:38This young man fell in love with Jesus and the Eucharist at a very young age, even younger than before he made his first Holy Communion.
27:48In fact, he asked if he could make his first Holy Communion early because he was so desirous of being one with the body of Christ.
27:56You know, he came from a family that was not very religious and, in fact, ended up bringing his own family back to the faith.
28:05So this young man did some very simple things, and it's an indication that any one of us could be a saint.
28:14He evangelized people.
28:16He built a website and collected information on Eucharistic miracles.
28:21So it was the first time all of those miracles could be found in one place, all with the hope of leading people to the world.
28:29He is a saint.
28:30Yeah, it's so beautiful.
28:32All of my children know about Carlo Acutis.
28:34He really does speak to young, my teenagers especially.
28:38They are just really drawn to him in so many ways.
28:41He's so relatable.
28:42He played soccer.
28:43As you said, he built a website.
28:45What a beautiful story for you to take your own talents and put it towards telling this story and bringing more people to Jesus.
28:52So thank you so much, Jim.
28:54We're going to make sure that we put up here that this movie called Carlo Acutis Roadmap to Reality is available in theaters April 27th through April 29th.
29:06Last word, Jim?
29:09Yeah, we're on over 1,000 screens today.
29:18And if you want to be able to continue to see films like this, you've got to get out and support the film because the theaters don't want us.
29:26They want Batman.
29:28They want blockbusters.
29:29Yes.
29:30Amen to that.
29:32Congratulations on the film.
29:33I am going to take my family to go see it.
29:35Thank you so much.
29:37God bless you.
29:37God bless you.
29:38A huge drop and catch and release.
29:41AOC running for president and bruised with the vice president.
29:46Charlize, awesome, highly rated.
29:48Weekend News Review is next.
30:05Good to see you guys.
30:19Hey.
30:20Hi.
30:20Are you friends with me?
30:22What's this?
30:24Are you going to go to the house?
30:25Why? I'm not sure.
30:27I'm going to go to the house.
30:28My wife's wife's husband is doing this.
30:30I'll go to the house and bring my wife's wife's wife.
