00:00In excess of 20,000 fans here at Sydney's Oren Park Raceway, eclipsing the huge total at last year's round.
00:08And haven't they enjoyed a great day's racing? They've seen two brilliant races, particularly that second reverse grid.
00:14And it only gets even more exciting in this one, the third and final one.
00:17There is the Walker Safety Car. Despite the incidents today, we've not had call to use the Walker Safety Car.
00:22Let's hope we don't have to in the third and final race of the day.
00:25We'll check out the grid for you and see how they'll line up as the cars head out on their warm-up laps.
00:29Scaife on pole, Tanner alongside him, Greg Murphy and Russell Ingle on road two, Seton Longhurst road three, and Bargwana and Perkins on the four.
00:37And just a reminder, those top six positions have been figured out on aggregate of the results of race one and race two, if you're a little bit confused at home.
00:44Brad Jones and Craig Baird start out of five, John Faulkner and Paul Morris, Todd Kelly and Stephen Johnson, Paul Wheel and Trevor Ashby at 16.
00:52Rodney Forbes and Steve Reid from row nine.
00:54And Mick Donagher in the ultra-tuned TDK Commodore on position 19 alongside Neil Crompton.
00:59McConville and Doolman from row 11.
01:01Rick Bates and Stephen Ellery from 12.
01:03In down toward the back now, John Bauer.
01:05Boy, he's having a tough season in 2000.
01:07Mark Larkham in the wars as well.
01:08Craig Lowndes now.
01:09As a result of an incident with Garth Tander, they damaged the front suspension.
01:13And the team have just managed to get the car repaired in time for him to make the race.
01:17Stephen Richards, too, in dramas.
01:19And Steve has got a splitting migraine headache at the moment that is really, really making it difficult for him to drive the car.
01:24Anthony Tratt, Paul Radisic in trouble, too.
01:26Dougal McDougal boy.
01:27There's been some carnage out there today.
01:29Yeah, where Garth Tander and Craig Lowndes came together, they both had to go up and see the stewards.
01:35And there's no outcome.
01:36It's been adjourned.
01:37So, thank you for sitting here about that.
01:40Plenty of biffo between those two today.
01:42Yeah.
01:43Holden Racing Team and the Valvoline Cummins operation.
01:46Here's the recovery man, though.
01:48What a great drive through to seventh position.
01:50Let's check out the points after two races today.
01:53Scaife on 72.
01:54But look how tight it is behind him for second and third position.
01:57Tander on 65 points.
01:58Ingalls 63.
01:59Tired with Murphy.
02:00Seton won back on 62.
02:01And Longhurst on 51.
02:03So, it'll be very exciting who's going to end up on that podium when we finish this final heat.
02:09Let's hope that Steven Richards is okay.
02:11The Medicos checked him over after race two.
02:13As Mark mentioned, a severe migraine.
02:15And he was as white as a ghost when he got out of the car.
02:17Oh, wasn't he?
02:18He was looking crook-ass.
02:20So, hopefully they've given him something to ease the pain.
02:25He doesn't suffer migraines very often, but when he gets them, they're beauties.
02:28And unfortunately, he's got it this weekend.
02:31So, Phil makes their way up onto the starting grid.
02:35Mark Larkham, as you said before, found himself right down the bottom of the order.
02:39Has not been a good weekend.
02:40Look at his feet in action as he tries to get some heat into those rear tyres.
02:45So, if you're a little bit confused at home as the finishing order from race two, those top six positions were determined by the aggregate of their performances in both race one and two.
02:55And look at that.
02:56We've almost ended up in a similar situation to what we had after qualifying originally.
03:00With the exception of Craig Lowndes, who's right towards the back, as you mentioned, Mark.
03:03The front two rows look very similar, don't they?
03:06Although Murphy and Ingle were on row three for the first of the day.
03:10They move up one row.
03:11The front row, there it is, Tander and Scaife.
03:13Identical in race one.
03:15Now the revs start to rise.
03:18Will Tander get the jump on Scaife in the last race of the day in round nine of the Shell series?
03:23Tander in race one.
03:24Yes, Tander.
03:25Like a bullet out of the gate.
03:26He has flown off the boat.
03:27We've got props there for that.
03:28Oh, look at that action.
03:30Oh, no.
03:31Paul Morris and Mark Larkham.
03:32Oh, wow.
03:33I hope he gets out of that in a hurry.
03:34Yes, he's out of it.
03:35Goodness me.
03:36Well, they'll have to stop this.
03:38Did you see the speed of that?
03:39Look, it's going over to Paul Morris' car.
03:41I hope Paul Morris gets out of the car okay here.
03:42Whoa, that's going to go bang.
03:43Oh, no.
03:44There's fuel everywhere.
03:45Larkham's out of the car.
03:46I hope Paul Morris got out.
03:47Well, I don't think he did yet.
03:49Oh, goodness me.
03:50I hope the Fire Marshals get on the scene there quickly.
03:53Here they are.
03:54Yeah, he's out.
03:55Well, good work of the Fire Marshals.
03:57They're in there within seconds.
03:58But did you see that fuel trail?
04:00Oh, yeah.
04:01Paul's struggling there.
04:02He's not well.
04:03Well, he got a major hit up the back.
04:05Oh, yeah.
04:06Mark Larkham hit him at full tilt.
04:08Did you see the impact there?
04:09Yeah.
04:10Massive.
04:11Oh, boy.
04:12What a scary moment in the Shell Championship Series.
04:16Boy, oh, boy.
04:17It happens in seconds, doesn't it?
04:18And the Medicos are out there.
04:19They're taking a look at...
04:20Did you see the fuel tracking?
04:22The fuel...
04:23Well, that was the rupture.
04:24Yeah.
04:25The rear fuel cell.
04:26They've got an aircraft quality bladder inside those fuel tanks.
04:29But, boy, there's only so much impact that a fuel cell like that can take.
04:34And you can see Mark Larkham just drilled the back of that car.
04:37It's still on fire.
04:38There's still fuel leaking there.
04:41But there was an enormous explosion of unburned fuel when Larkham speared into the back of Morris' car.
04:47It went all over the track.
04:48I wonder what the catalyst was that set all that off.
04:50And that's still on fire, Paul Morris.
04:52Let's just hope Paul Morris is okay.
04:54He's lying down there.
04:55Look at the damage.
04:57Goodness gracious me.
04:59Look at the impact of that.
05:01Mitre 10 team worked so hard on this car.
05:04This is not what they wanted, nor Paul Morris either for that matter.
05:07The Medicos are on hand.
05:08Let's take a look at the Shell Helix replay.
05:10Let's have a look further back.
05:12Look at this.
05:13Oh, yes.
05:14Perkins stalled.
05:15Oh, look.
05:16Then that's...
05:17So, Larry got stuck.
05:18Paul's driven in the back.
05:19Look at Larkham.
05:20Oh, God.
05:22And Paul has just sprayed a fuel trail right across the track.
05:26And look at the flames start to follow this fuel line along.
05:28Look at this.
05:29One bit ignites another bit.
05:31Look at it.
05:32Look at it moving now.
05:33Incredible.
05:34Unbelievable.
05:35And then it actually reaches Morris' car up into the fuel tank
05:38and gets the rest of it.
05:39Well, we have got to really praise both the quick action of the fire marshals
05:45and the incredible strength and build integrity of the modern V8 supercar.
05:49Despite an enormous impact like that, both drivers escaping.
05:54What a miracle they both got out.
05:57Let's have a look at this again.
05:58Have a look at this here.
05:59Oh!
06:00Look at the speed that Mark was going when he hits, because he just wouldn't see it.
06:03Now, in fairness to Larkham, yeah, he was travelling in behind, I think it was Stephen
06:06Ellery, and his vision would have been quite sort of obscured, quite hard for him to see.
06:11Look at Morris in front of him.
06:12Look at that fuel trail that's come out of the ruptured fuel tank of Morris' car.
06:15Look at this.
06:16Look at this flame.
06:17Frightening stuff.
06:18Look, it makes its way toward the big Kev Commodore.
06:22And Larkham and Paul Morris miraculously walking away from the cars under their own strength.
06:30Well, that's a tragedy, but I'll tell you what, you've got to be grateful for small miracles.
06:33They certainly do.
06:34Well, the marshals are doing a great job here at Oren Park.
06:36Stay with us.
06:37We'll be back on the other side of this.
06:39The circuit is clear.
06:40The marshals have done a sensational job here.
06:43And Scaife will lead the way, the third and final race.
06:48The reason they've gone for this rolling start, if you're wondering, look at all that dirt and
06:51garbage, this fuel, this cement dust, all sorts of stuff down there on the track.
06:55It wasn't considered fair to make cars start on that.
06:58So they've gone for a full rolling start.
07:00Scaife takes maximum advantage.
07:02Leaps through to the lead.
07:03Garth Tanner in second position.
07:06Murphy up there.
07:07Engel right up his bumper bar.
07:09There's Larry Berkus.
07:10Look at the battle damage on the back of that car.
07:12Larry was so lucky not to get a bigger whack than that, wasn't he?
07:16It was Perkins' stalled car that actually triggered that incident.
07:19Oh, Frank Jones!
07:20Oh, look at this!
07:21Frank Jones and...
07:22Frank Baird.
07:23Frank Baird.
07:24Now, if you've just joined us, folks, we should reinforce that incident.
07:27This race has been reduced to 15 laps.
07:31It's a 15-lap-up.
07:33Baird, look at that car, smoking.
07:34Now, John Faulkner up in behind him and the Asia Online Commodore.
07:37And things pretty tightly bunched up at the front, too.
07:39Scaife under siege from Garth Tanner.
07:41Murphy under fire from Russell Engel, the enforcer.
07:44Winner of race two here.
07:45Glenn Seaton is up there as well.
07:47In the forward and so too is Tony Longhurst.
07:50Great start from Scaife.
07:52He was beautifully positioned coming onto the main straight.
07:54Got the hammer down.
07:55And you can see the back of Perkins' car there.
07:57Shunted by Paul Morris, which triggered that massive accident.
08:02As we continue one race, one lap down of this 15-lap-up.
08:07Mark Scaife, Garth Tanner.
08:09Greg Murphy in third.
08:10Russell Engel in fourth.
08:11Bennett Seaton.
08:12Longhurst, Bargwana, Perkins.
08:14Oh.
08:15Scaifey covering his ground there.
08:16Tander coming round the outside to try and round up the Holden Racing Team Commodore.
08:20Craig Lowndes is right down the back.
08:22Let's have a look at this on the replay.
08:25This incident with Baird and Jones.
08:29Baird down the inside.
08:31A little bit tight on the inside there, I'd say.
08:33Oh, look how close Tander is behind Scaife as they head up over the bridge once again.
08:38Tander is on maximum attack, isn't he?
08:40He's so close to Scaife.
08:42And Murphy at the moment is playing defensive in the Kmart Commodore from Russell Engel.
08:47Down through the Pura Milk dip.
08:49On toward Rimula Super Corner.
08:51Scaife in command.
08:53Garth Tander in second.
08:55Watch them as they head towards the O'Brien abominium dogleg.
08:58Oh, look at this!
08:59John Kelly!
09:00Oh!
09:01Just coming right across the nose of these.
09:03Mike Holden Young Lions entering.
09:05We go on board with Brad Jones fighting back after that collision with Craig Baird.
09:09Wild ride to the back of Todd Kelly's car as they head over that notorious dogleg.
09:14The car gets very light.
09:16Look at this gaggle of cars.
09:17Bumper to bumper.
09:18Onto the lane straight once again.
09:20Stephen Richards fighting his way from the rear of the grid.
09:22Forward.
09:23He's suffering a massive migraine and doing very well at the moment.
09:26Look at Craig Baird sporting the battle scars.
09:29Neil Crompton ahead of him there.
09:30Who will give?
09:31Baird tucks him behind him as they go into the left-hander at the end of the VB straight.
09:36Lowndes up to 19th position now for starting virtually off the back.
09:40You can see him further back in the pack there.
09:42That damage put him out in race two.
09:45There's the second.
09:47Holden Racing Team Commodores.
09:50Lowndes now.
09:51A lot of work ahead of him to pick his way through this pack.
09:54Neil Crompton.
09:55Car six.
09:56Been really struggling with set up this car.
09:58He's not going to work the way he wants it at all.
10:00All weekend.
10:01Meanwhile at the front's a different story.
10:03Holden Racing Team Commodores.
10:05One, two, three.
10:06The battle for the lead.
10:07Now something's gone wrong with Russell Ingle there.
10:09He's dropped out of shot.
10:10Yeah he has.
10:11He's lost in position as well.
10:12I think Glenn Seaton has gotten by Russell Ingle in the Castrol Commodore.
10:15So try and find out what's happened there for you.
10:18There he is.
10:19Oh boy.
10:20Terminal whatever it is.
10:21I just wonder there was so much debris all over the circuit.
10:23I wonder if he's picked up something.
10:25He had a punctured radiator and he lost his power steering and he'd won.
10:29So he has had some mechanical dramas today.
10:31That's an unfortunate way for the enforcer to end his racing weekend.
10:35Yeah it looks like Tanner's struggling to stay with Scafie now.
10:38I thought it was going to give him a hard time the first couple of laps.
10:41You'll notice that a lot of the drivers too are using now.
10:44We're getting told incidentally that Russell Ingle is stuck in gear.
10:47That is the problem for the enforcer.
10:49And he's making his way back to pit lane.
10:50A lot of the drivers will be running with the visors down in this one.
10:53There will be tape across the visors as well.
10:55The sunlight at this time of the afternoon a big factor.
10:58Yeah sun angle gets very very low.
11:00And of course as the day wears on it gets worse now.
11:02We've had a major delay because of that crash.
11:05So the sun will be murder coming through those windscreens.
11:07Some are coming around some of these corners.
11:09And Todd Kelly's having a good go with Ford, isn't he?
11:12Yeah Todd Kelly's been most impressive today.
11:14Very good in qualifying.
11:16We go back on board with the recovery kit.
11:18Jason Bargwana with our walker in-car camera.
11:21He's up to fifth position now.
11:23And he's been taking us for a wild ride throughout the three heats today.
11:27Great shots from the ten motorsport cameras.
11:30And look who he's got in his sights there.
11:32Glenn Seaton.
11:33The pride of the Ford pack at Iron Park.
11:35And there is Russell Ingle.
11:38He's jammed in gear apparently.
11:40So it's going from the highs to the lows, can't you?
11:44One weekend, one race day even.
11:47Russell Ingle of course the winner by virtue of that reverse grid situation in race two.
11:52Barnes is really on him.
11:54He is flying.
11:55He's got so much speed aboard this car.
11:57It's a real shame that he didn't qualify well.
12:00Monroe profile of 28 year old Jason Bargwana.
12:04Originally from Combo in New South Wales.
12:06Now lives down in Melbourne.
12:0831 championship starts.
12:10Two wins.
12:12The Valvoline Cummins team.
12:14Hasn't he been an outstanding performer?
12:16For Gary Rogers Motorsport over the years.
12:18This team's been out of luck at Bathurst to blame.
12:21Hopefully.
12:23It's a great team though isn't it?
12:25Well you look at their tremendous the fight.
12:27Garth Tander maintaining the pressure on him.
12:29Maintaining the pressure on Holden Racing Team.
12:33Steven Richards and the thicker things here between Craig Baird and Paul Radisicic.
12:36Those guys fighting their way through.
12:38We jump aboard with the rat.
12:39There's the sunlight coming through the front window.
12:41Richards down the inside of Baird.
12:42Radisic comes with him.
12:44Oh look at it.
12:45Baird looks like he's been off again.
12:47Because it's all run very wide somewhere.
12:50You can see all the red dust coming up.
12:52Believe the level of competition in V8 Supercar.
12:54This is the battle of the 19th position.
12:56Between Steven Richards and Paul Radisic.
12:59Radisic chief.
13:00Wouldn't he be counting his lucky stars?
13:02He managed to pick that gap between the concrete wall.
13:04The stricken car and Mark Larkham.
13:06Managed to avoid any damage.
13:08Now finds himself in a real battle with Steven Richards.
13:11Just ahead of them there on the shot.
13:13You can see John Bauer.
13:14The meat in the sandwich is Cameron McConville in the new Repco Commodore.
13:18They head underneath the bridge.
13:20Craig Baird coming into the pits of the Stone Brothers team.
13:23More damage to an XRA Falcon.
13:26We see a lot of breakage in that front spoiler section.
13:29Just rip that light out.
13:30One would suspect that the officials have probably asked them to come in with that bodywork hanging down like that Mark.
13:37Ross Stone.
13:38Just there hard of work.
13:39Have a look at the replay.
13:40Oh, look at this.
13:41Speedy.
13:42This is the end of the front straight here.
13:45Oh, how close is it?
13:47Knock, knock.
13:48Not here.
13:49Yeah.
13:50A bit of elbowing going on there.
13:51Meanwhile, Mark's skate though.
13:52That thing looks so good to know.
13:53I mean, you see the suspension set up on that.
13:54I mean, it looks so good over the bumps.
13:55I mean, for the moment, they hit the circuit in practice on Saturday morning.
14:09Those cars have looked just so comfortable on the Iron Park circuit.
14:12The team have obviously a very good base package, as we mentioned in race one.
14:16They may immediately apply to it.
14:18All they've got to do is fine tune the car.
14:20It looks immaculate, obviously, but it rides the Iron Park circuit so well.
14:24And obviously, in the hands of someone as accomplished as skate, it's so good.
14:29Glen Seaton in fourth position of Brent Murphy up ahead of him in the Kmart Commodore.
14:33The Ford Limited in-car camera takes you for a ride with Seaton.
14:37Oh, the Murphs had a decent weekend, didn't they?
14:40Yeah.
14:41They're sliding around there on the entry to the Esses that time around.
14:46Show some big clearance signal telemetry with Glen Seaton.
14:50That great open-face helmet.
14:52Had a lot of feedback from that vision we showed from Wynton of Seaton motivating himself around the track to take that sensational pole position.
14:59Not the least from Glen himself because he didn't know he was saying it.
15:02I think he was a bit embarrassed.
15:03Yeah, of course.
15:04In fact, the dice for third place on the day between both Seaton and Greg Murphy.
15:08Seaton trying to wrestle it away from Murphy.
15:10And Murphy desperate to hang onto it.
15:12Yeah, that battle for the lower positions on the...
15:15Oh, lock her up.
15:16Wow, that's a major lock up.
15:18That front tire is on fire.
15:22Looks like a 50 cent piece there.
15:24Oh, didn't he have that locked up for a long way?
15:26Yeah.
15:27Seaton clunking away, like Baz said, like a 50 cent piece.
15:31And Seaton sensing the opportunity to look how sideways the Kmart Commodore is getting.
15:35Murph has been progressively throughout the heats trying to dial out that oversteer in that car, but...
15:40Oh, it hasn't helped.
15:41Seems they haven't been able to quite do it.
15:43And he's oversteering all over the place.
15:44And of course, Melbourne putting enormous amount of temperature and wear into those rear tyres,
15:48and it's a vicious circle, isn't it?
15:50Between a rock and a hard place, aren't you?
15:52Yeah, the more you overheat them, the more you wear them, the worse your car goes.
15:55Now, this is a must for your favourites file when you're on the net.

16:17There's profiles on all your favourite personalities, 10.com.au.
16:21Fantastic battle for third position here.
16:23Jason Bargwana on the charge.
16:25Closes the gap to the FTR Falcon of Glenn Seaton.
16:29Now he's locked in this battle.
16:30What a tremendous fight right up behind the back of the Falcon
16:33as they get 600 horsepower to the ground.
16:35Under the bridge.
16:36Charging down towards Shell Corner once again.
16:38Seaton has a look down the inside of Murphy.
16:40And I think he's also...
16:41Oh!
16:42He's got it too!
16:43Yeah, Greg is really struggling for tyres here.
16:46I think they're all shot to bits.
16:47Oh!
16:48Contact between the Valenka and the Kmart Commodore.
16:51Who dare?
16:52Well, you can see Murphy has been struggling for grip there.
16:56He's been sliding all over the place like a sprint car.
16:58You can see it on those in-car shots.
17:00And he's really wrestling to hold this thing on the racing line.
17:03Well, that was third place for the day for Greg Murphy.
17:06And now at the moment, Glenn Seaton on course for that podium finish.
17:09Both Radisic and Steven Richards have managed to get around Cameron Macomba
17:13and the Repco Commodore.
17:14This is the battle further back.
17:1516th position or 17th position, I should say.
17:23Paul Weill, who's had a bit of a disastrous weekend so far,
17:26holding down 14th position in the K&J Radiators board,
17:29just ahead of John Bao in the Caterpillar Falcon.
17:32These guys are just ahead of Steven Richards.
17:36Well, he may be the man who supplies most of the cooling systems
17:41for V8 supercars through K&J Thermal.
17:44Boy, he can't get his own package working this weekend.
17:47They have thrown everything at that car.
17:49Every possible suspension setup they can think of
17:51has not made an ounce of difference.
17:53They just cannot get the car to work at all.
17:55That looks pretty cool.
17:56Yes.
17:57There you go.
17:58J.B. getting through there.
17:59In the background, you notice Rodney Forbes in the Winds Commodore as well.
18:02His brother, John Forbes, representing Australia.
18:04And the Sydney Olympics soon in sailing.
18:06Let's have a look at this incident again.
18:07Seaton had a sniff down the inside.
18:09Oh!
18:10Oh, dear me!
18:12Wow!
18:13It wasn't a lot of room there, was there?
18:16If you're not going to invite me to your party, I'll gate crash.
18:21Yeah.
18:22As Seaton gets his way through.
18:24Continues the attack.
18:25He's up in third position at the moment.
18:26This is a bit further back in the pack.
18:30Four wheel.
18:31Four wheel.
18:32In the KJ4.
18:33That car seems to be struggling, doesn't it?
18:35Because now it's managed to clear out of there.
18:36Just a look at it.
18:37And Rodney Forbes.
18:38Whoa!
18:39Rodney gets a bit of power on.
18:41Coming up over the dogleg this time around.
18:43He's really been in the thick of things today.
18:46And a few rides across the scenery now.
18:48Tries to find a way past the KJ thermal machine.
18:51The reason he's doing that, Mark, is he knows that in behind him
18:53there's a couple of magnets honing in on him.
18:55There they are.
18:56Yep.
18:57Steven Richards and Paul Radisic on the fight back from the rear of the grid.
19:00Rodney Forbes currently 16th.
19:02So his mirror's starting to get more and more full of this Kmart.
19:07Shell Helix Duo.
19:09But he's stuck right in behind Paul Wheel.
19:11Now Steven Ellery back there as well.
19:13Look at the quality through this field.
19:15Incredible.
19:16On board with Paul Radisic.
19:18The Flying Kiwi.
19:19Shell Helix.
19:20In car camera.
19:21Radisic currently fifth in the Shell Championship point standings.
19:26Fighting hard for every point.
19:29As this team continues to build up to the big Enduros at the end of the year.
19:34The Queensland 500.
19:35And of course the FAI 1000.
19:37Mount Panorama.
19:38Radisic has not been able to find a way past the Kmart machine.
19:43Steven Richards.
19:44Four laps remaining for our race leader.
19:45Just to bring you up to date on the situation with both Mark Larkham and Paul Morris.
19:49We understand that the Westpac rescue helicopter is on its way to the circuit here.
19:54Morris is okay and no doubt being taken away to hospital for precautionary checks.
19:58Look at this battle going on here.
19:59Murphy has fallen back into the clutches of Tony Longhurst.
20:02Murphy struggling.
20:03Longhurst sensing an opportunity in the Caltex Haviland Ford.
20:081888 Bathurst winner.
20:11Tony Longhurst.
20:12Most experienced driver in the field now.
20:15143 championship starts for the 43 year old Queenslander.
20:20Real veteran.
20:21It's now 81 championship rounds since he last took victory in the Shell championship series.
20:28That was in a BMW right back in 1992.
20:31So it's been a long time between drinks for Longhurst.
20:33Look at this battle here.
20:34It's Paul Wheel.
20:35In behind Rodney Forbes.
20:36Then we've got Steven Richards defending us.
20:37Steven Ellery up the inside.
20:38On the Shell Helix Falcon.
20:39Well these were team mates these two.
20:40Yeah.
20:41At Panorama Madness last year.
20:42What a move.
20:43Snuck right up the inside.
20:44Very tidy move too.
20:45For the super cheap Autos Falcon.
20:46Towing a bit of speed later in the day.
20:47That puts him up to 18th place.
20:48But great battles right up and down through the field as you see so often in V8 Supercars.
20:51Tremendous Ford and Holton rivalry here.
20:52Rodney Forbes.
20:53Paul Wheel.
20:54Steven Richards.
20:55Steven Ellery.
20:56Paul Radisic follows them down.
20:57Massive crowd here at Oran Park watching the action.
20:58Steven Ellery is really on the charge.
20:59He's starting to whistle at K-Mart Commodore.
21:00Look at that.
21:01Look at that.
21:02Pound.
21:03Look at that.
21:04Pound.
21:05Look at that.
21:06Pound.
21:07Look at that.
21:08Look at that.
21:09Pound.
21:10Pound.
21:11Pound.
21:12Pound.
21:13Pound.
21:14Pound.
21:15Pound.
21:16Pound.
21:17Pound.
21:18Pound.
21:19Pound.
21:20Look at those power slides.
21:22Paw wheels have been struggling all weekend with problems with the front left of the car.
21:26And it looks as though they are continuing in this one.
21:28He's managing to hang on to that position at the moment, but look at Richards honing in
21:31on him as you're going to the straight here.
21:33Great wise came out and he seems to be losing a massive amount of the brakes.
21:36I don't know why if it's on him because everybody has passed him on the brakes.
21:39Still at his brakes coming out in the corner.
21:42Yeah.
21:43Steven Ellery though is really fishing for another position.
21:46He's right on the Camo car.
21:46on car front spoiler is right on the bumper richard's machine as they swing up toward
21:52the bridge once again so it's been a mixed bag for a lot of the four teams this weekend
21:59a lot of the teams reporting they just struggled they could not get the setup right on this car
22:03and it's sadly a situation we've heard so often with the au xra falcon program hopefully the new
22:10project blueprint and issue by tega to equalize as much as possible the mechanics of between
22:16commodore and falcon will be rid of that legacy once and for all it just looks like steve's card's
22:22going really good now you can hold a really tight line and everything and uh struggling a lot less
22:27than everybody else's just to bring you up today folks if you have just joined us there was a
22:31massive start line crash in this third race of the day involving paul morris and mark larkin they are
22:38okay larkin has had precautionary checks at the medical center here morris is about to be flown
22:43to liverpool hospital in sydney south here oh gallery right down the inside everything locked up
22:51just tried to stick the nose down the inside managed to get out of it just in time
22:55steven richards wasn't getting any racing room
22:59so ellery locked in this intense struggle at the back of the top 20.
23:03nice as i was mentioning he's just heading off to hospital there for some some checks he's got some
23:09internal injuries but he's out of the car and is a-okay we resume this battle hasn't steven ellery done a
23:15top job here to hold out paul radicic well he's not only holding him out i mean he's he's he's going at
23:20the funds in the front as well craig lounge continues his charge through the pack
23:27he started off right down the back of the green he's now up to 10th place so he's been absolutely
23:32flying in the mobile one commodore so the autodiver escaped tander seat and bagwana murphy longhurst
23:40faulkner larry perkins here's the battle between larry and craig lounge
23:45oh turkens up nate lounge in ninth and brad jones in the aussie male forward
23:51finds himself in the top ten lounge has a run down the outside of the veteran
23:54in the castro commodore larry fighting hard though he's not going to give him without a fight
23:58now the over and under can lounge get back underneath him look at this here there's a
24:02almost a touch between those two we're heading up towards the bridge larry plays defensive in the
24:06castro commodore brad jones tucked in behind him there and it's and it's the last lap yeah there's
24:12no way that larry's gonna leave so we're on our way home folks larry sideways to get off the bridge
24:17we saw him do that last year didn't we a major save of the day that was here's markscape folks
24:21he's going to take out the round he takes out race three as well well done to the holden racing
24:26team second to garth tander in this race glenn seaton will get third and jason bagwana what about
24:32that for a performance his day started horribly he's finished fourth in this one we continue to watch
24:37this battle look at this larry trying to hang on to his position in eight lounge is in behind him
24:45and larry will hang on to it well done to the veteran in the castro commodore lounge finishing in
24:51eighth brad just ninth but there's the man who had 120 point lead heading into this round and he has
24:58just built on that championship leading here again today let's recap them for you
25:02scape winning the third one from tander seaton bagwana tony longhurst a good resulting fit
25:08faulkner and allowance completing the top eight back in a moment
25:16mark scape enjoying the spoils of victory here at orange park in sydney he takes out round nine of
25:21the shell championship series and that is the fifth year in a row that the holden racing team have won at
25:25this venue here's how they finished in the third race of the day scape on top what about the performance
25:30by bagwana though after a disastrous start to the day he charged up the leaderboard to finish in
25:35fourth position a good effort from greg murphy although he was struggling he fell back to fifth
25:38in that one there as well well barry sheen it's been an unbelievable day here that third race in
25:42particular a frightening fireball and lucky those two drivers to uh to get out of it well they are
25:47you know they're on their way to hospital now to be checked up but it was a terrible thing you
25:51watch here look you see larry perkins is stopped now watch mark larkham who pulls out to pull past
25:56steven ellery and gets confronted with the back of paul morris's car now what you see the the uh
26:03the bladder in the tank obviously ruptured and you see the line of petrol across and then you see the
26:07fire will track across the circuit there and then all of a sudden to the to where the source of the
26:15petrol if you like is paul's car but thank god that you know paul's um sort of knocked around a bit but
26:20he was sort of combustible enough to get out of there in a hurry because that could have been really very
26:25very nasty that is frightening footage and just to bring you up to date larkham has abdominal and
26:30chest pain and some memory loss while morris is suffering some internal injuries but they are
26:34on their way by chopper to liverpool hospital so that is good news but they're out of the car and
26:38okay let's update the championship point score for you after nine rounds mark scape was on top heading
26:42into this round leading by 120 points that gap has now increased to 136 1035 points for scape seaton in
26:49second place the margin only narrow though between he and tander craig lounge in fourth position there a good
26:54effort also by greg murphy today he's in sixth position 661 points well baz i'll tell you what
27:00it's been an unbelievable day he hasn't the action only continues though in the next couple of rounds

27:09worked didn't it that's all there is to it you know it's uh the competition is so tight here now
27:14and unless you qualify well you know the reverse group gives people a bit of a chance you know i love
27:19it it's great i think it's a great success certainly and maybe reversing the top six some people say
27:22wasn't enough maybe we should reverse more of the grid well coming up yeah coming up on your home
