00:55because i was totally up front about my life but he he totally lied to me about his job and what
01:01he does for a living well what does he do or what did he say he does his profile told me that he was
01:09that he's an attorney um but he is not an attorney he is a paralegal and he had like played it up
01:16like he's this big shot attorney at law and he's just not and i'm like what just there is no need
01:23to lie on the first date okay so he does work in a law office though he's in the courtroom close
01:29enough no he played it up like he was this big shot that he was the attorney and he he was talking
01:37about all the things that he did without saying paralegal until finally he like he slipped up and
01:41he could tell he's lived up and i was like wait so you're a paralegal i mean do you have a problem
01:46with that i mean doing that i mean that's a good job too i mean were you searching for a lawyer
01:51no but like don't lie on a first date like i would have i probably would have liked hanging out with
01:57you just fine if you had led with honesty but now i'm just so put off that he felt like he had to lie
02:03to make up for something it just it seemed like lying was easy to him and that he just like
02:09thought he should do it just to impress someone like i was just gonna say was he lying or was he
02:14just trying to impress you i don't care if he was just trying to impress me he could have impressed
02:18me by just being a nice honest person and going out with me like he didn't have to do all of it up
02:24but he did and he spent so much time like creating this idea around him being an attorney that he wasted
02:31time that he could have just been spending being honest with me okay well obviously he was a little
02:38misleading here and we do have owen on the phone with us and i'd like to bring him back on and just
02:44ask him some questions if that's cool with you i guess um owen hey so were you a little misleading
02:52when it came to what you do for work i mean uh i'm a i'm a paralegal but i do like 90 percent of
03:00their work and all the digging and all the hard stuff and they get to go to court and just use all my
03:04work like i i even write all the letters like i do everything so technically like not a lawyer yet
03:11but i i i do everything for them working towards that job are you oh do you want to be an attorney
03:17one day or yeah yeah yes yep assistant lawyer i just i just find it odd that um you know you know i i
03:25i just spoke about what i do basically i do the same thing as lawyers i didn't take the you know
03:31the exam at the bar yet or anything but i'm getting to that okay but your profile didn't say that
03:37okay well i mean you seem concerned about what like a lawyer makes or something you're concerned about
03:42money no no it's not it's not about money i know you can afford to go out and have drinks clearly but
03:48like it's it's just about it's about honesty because there's just no need to lie on a first date
03:54because then it seems like that's just second nature to you and then what can i expect going forward
03:59we talked about my work i didn't lie about anything i didn't tell you when we were together i said that
04:05i work at a law firm i didn't say i was a lawyer like i didn't just said we do a lot of work it's not
04:09that big of a stretch i don't know i didn't say i was a professional baseball player i mean
04:15it says where i work like i mean on your online dating profile does it say that you're an attorney
04:22technically yes but i mean it's just easier to say that what am i going to say paralegal for such
04:28and such and i do all their work like i mean i guess you could have they didn't have a drop down
04:34menu for that yeah yeah there's there's really nothing to say so it does say lawyer because it's
04:40just easier i just i just don't get it because starting out as lying is just it's just not a good
04:47start and also like i know what a paralegal is it was it's you don't have no but that's okay
04:54i i understand the job that you do but you misled me i understand the work that you put in
05:01but you misled me sure you were nice and you bought my drink but you misled me that's just that's
05:07where it starts i it's not a good start it's not a good book for you i don't care what you do or how

05:18me ask you a question you just said that he was misleading and you just said that he uh is a liar
05:23so i'm gonna guess that you're not wanting to go on another date with him now that you know what he
05:27does it doesn't matter what he does i don't want to see him again because he was misleading

05:44um i think there's definitely a distinction between a lawyer and a paralegal i mean that's a big
05:49difference but he does work in a law office if that's what he would have said that would have been
05:53one thing i mean it's like if i said i have my own radio show i don't it was no it's not it's not
05:58the same at all uh no i i get what you're trying to say but i just feel like it's like in the same
06:06thing it's the same field no doubt about it it's the same field but it's just they're not a lawyer
06:11yeah he didn't go to law school he didn't take a bar exam but again it is an important job no doubt
06:18about it so i guess the bar exam is i guess the big deal yeah and law school yeah i kind of forgot
06:23about that part okay well and if you would like your own radio show all you gotta do is ask
