00:00All right, trying to help out Tommy this morning on a second date update, commercial-free New Country, 99.5 QYK.
00:06He's very thorough with his description of the date.
00:09Yeah, but he said he's been over it and over it, went through all the details.
00:12They went to Grillsmith. He said he picked her up, he paid for the date.
00:17He doesn't know what's going on.
00:19Yeah, he's gone over this in his head multiple times.
00:20But he said he was three minutes late picking her up.
00:23Three.
00:24So that could be it.
00:25He was a little worried about that.
00:26But they did have a good date, he thought, and we do have Stacey on the phone with us.
00:31Kevin has her on hold.
00:32Let's bring her back on with us and see if we get some answers.
00:35Stacey, are you there?
00:37Yeah, I'm here.
00:39Hey, I know this is a random phone call to get, especially this early in the morning,
00:43but we wanted to see if we could talk to you real quick on the air, actually, about a date you went on.
00:48I think Kevin was telling you a little bit about this.
00:51Yeah.
00:52Yeah, we want to talk to you about Tommy.
00:53We heard you guys went to Grillsmith.
00:54He said he had a great time with you.
00:56He sounds like a really nice guy.
00:59And he sounds like he really thought this date through and he tried to be a gentleman.
01:02And since that date, he hasn't heard from you.
01:05And I guess he took you home, dropped you off, but has been trying to set something up with you again.
01:11But no luck.
01:12So what's going on?
01:13Can we help out in some way?
01:15Okay, I'm dead.
01:17But he called you.
01:18I don't know.
01:19Nice guy, but I'm not interested in going out with him again.
01:22So I don't know why he couldn't just, you know, leave it at that.
01:25All right, Stacey.
01:26Well, you can imagine we're going to want to kind of know why you don't want to go back out with him.
01:30Can you tell us?
01:32Well, to start, when we got there, basically, he ended up knowing our waitress.
01:38I guess they went to school together or something like that.
01:43He was, like, very, very friendly to her.
01:45And at first, I thought maybe she was, like, an ex-girlfriend because I just saw, like, the spark in his eye when he, like, saw that she was our waitress.
01:53And I was like, oh, here we go.
01:54And, no, like, I guess she wasn't an ex-girlfriend, but they, like, went to school together.
01:59Like, not even kidding.
02:02I felt like I was on a three-way date with him and this girl.
02:05And she's supposed to be a waitress.
02:07But not only did she just, like, keep coming back to the table, like, nonstop, incessantly throughout the date, even when we didn't need anything.
02:16He just kept talking to her.
02:18And, you know, when she wasn't at our table and it was supposed to be, like, hi, you're on a date with me, I felt like he was, like, always, like, glancing around the room to see, like, where she was and is she around and is she coming back.
02:29And then I think the last straw for me was, like, when he asked for her number.
02:35Oh, right in front of you?
02:37Like, while we are on our date, yeah, like, at the table, like, hey, yeah, well, definitely give me your number.
02:40We got to catch up.
02:41And I'm like, hi, I'm on a date with you.
02:43But I literally felt like he was trying to be on a date with this other girl.
02:47Yeah, that's a little strange.
02:49Your date getting another number while he's on a date with you is kind of tough, yeah.
02:54Stacey, let me ask you a question.
02:55Did you ask him if he had a history with this girl?
02:59Yeah.
03:00After she walked away the first time, because it was, like, Tommy?
03:04And then it was, like, I think her name was Julia or something.
03:07And, yeah, I was, like, Tommy?
03:09And then it was, Julia?
03:10And then I was, like, oh, my God, how have you been, like, all like that.
03:14And so I'm, like, oh, okay.
03:15And then I was, like, and then they hugged.
03:17And then I just, his demeanor changed.
03:20Like, he seemed more excited to see her than meet me after we'd texted a bunch and, like, been working up to this date, you know?
03:26And so then I was, oh, I bet this is a girl he hooked up with.
03:29That's what I thought.
03:30Okay.
03:30And then he explained that they just went to school together and, you know, oh, I haven't seen her in so many years.
03:36And we were good friends.
03:38And I'm all, like, good friends or friends with benefits.
03:40Like, am I getting the whole story?
03:42Like, you know?
03:43So.
03:44All right.
03:44Well, let me tell you something.
03:45We do have Tommy on the phone with us.
03:47That's how we got your phone number.
03:48I want to bring him back on, Stacey, because I really do don't, I really think that he has no clue that he offended you in any way.
03:55Tommy, you there?
03:57Uh, yeah.
03:59I'm sorry if, you know, you got some kind of impression, like, I was, you know, I was paying less attention to you or something, but, or that, you know, me and her have a past or, I mean, like, yeah, we were friends in high school.
04:11I hadn't seen her in all these years.
04:14So, you know, it felt like it was somebody that you just kind of, like, once in a while.
04:17Okay.
04:17Okay.
04:18I don't mean to interrupt.
04:19Okay.
04:20I'm not trying to be rude.
04:21I'm not trying to be rude.
04:22And I get you on to, like, tell me, like, the history, but I guess that's, like, the point.
04:26Like, I don't care.
04:28Like, I'm not trying to go on a date with you and every person you went to high school or college with.
04:33Like, people change in 15 years.
04:36Like, you haven't seen her.
04:37It's not like she's, like, family, like, what am I supposed to, like, hi, let me just pause my whole life and existence and pretend I didn't put all this effort to go on a date so you can have a reunion.
04:48Go back and get her number after I leave or connect with her on Instagram or something a little less, like, you know what I mean?
04:55Like, it's not like you wanted to be on a date with her.
04:58Well, I mean, I'm pretty glad now that I'm not going on a second date with you.
05:03You sound awful.
05:04Like, this is, I don't know what this weird, jealous.
05:07Oh, my God.
05:08What kind of girl are you?
05:09You wanted to put me on the radio and wanted to know why I wasn't returning your text and now I'm awful?
05:14Okay.
05:14Well, I hadn't seen in years.
05:15That I was just, I mean, it's not like I called her from across the restaurant.
05:19She was our waitress.
05:21I can't.
05:22He's just super immature.
05:23If he can't even at least say, hey, I'm, he didn't even say, I'm sorry.
05:27Like, you're right.
05:28Like, there was not even, like, a thought that maybe he should look and reflect on what he was doing.
05:34Like, it's just, I can do whatever I want.
05:36All right.
05:36Well, Tommy, are you, you said you're glad you're not going back out on a date with Stacey now so you have no interest?
05:42Yeah, no, she sounds horrible.
05:44I don't know who this person is.
05:45Like, the person that I went on the date with was not, like, this jealous and naive and catty and just generally awful.
05:52So, I'm pretty glad that I'm just not, oh, she's going to be talking again?
05:57Yeah, instead of me saying what I need to say?
05:59Cool.
06:00Yeah.
06:01Let's bring your date on the radio and talk about how you're going to be a raker.
06:05Okay.
06:05Sorry.
06:06I'm going to just, yeah.
06:09Hey, guys, you know what?
06:10I'm going to jump in.
06:11I'm probably going to make a little decision for you.
06:12I don't think you guys are going to be great together and are good for another date.
06:16So, I do appreciate you both coming on.
06:19You got your answer, Tommy, of why she wasn't getting back to you.
06:23And, Stacey, thank you for your time as well.
06:26You guys have a great day.
06:27Hey, thank you guys so much.
06:29And, hey, I know all I need to know, right?
06:32There you go.
06:33Thank you guys for not making me waste any more time on this first.
06:36All right.
06:36Got it.
06:37See you guys.
06:38All right.
06:38So, I can totally see where she is coming from.
06:42But, I can also totally see where he's coming from.
06:45He hasn't seen an old high school friend.
06:47So, naturally, you're going to chat it up.
06:49And, people exchange numbers all the time.
06:51And, it didn't seem like it was a big deal.
06:53But, yeah, on a date, it's not a good time.
06:56Yeah.
06:56Time and a place, obviously.
06:57And, if you run into someone like, oh, my gosh, good to see you.
06:59I mean, you got to be like, hey, this is so-and-so.
07:03I'm with, you know, whatever.
07:04Like, make sure you're introducing them and including them in the conversation.
07:07And, then, say, hey, we should catch up soon sometime.
07:10Yeah.
07:10And, that should be the end of it.
07:11That's not the time to catch up.
07:13All right.
07:13Well, this has been a deal breaker for you.
07:15800-992-1099.
07:18800-992-1099.
07:20Hit us up.
