00:00So we went to Chicago.
00:01You may have heard some stories by now.
00:04We went for our morning show convention.
00:06But in between time, there was time to kind of cruise around and, you know, check out Chicago where we were.
00:15And definitely party at night.
00:17A lot of dinners, a lot of corporate dinners, company dinners, things like that.
00:20So two people got called out by a listener and Brad sent a message to Roy.
00:28So is Roy one of the two people who blew this guy off in the city of Chicago, the Windy City, who is from Charlotte?
00:38Let's see.
00:40It says, just saw.
00:42Loren and Nicole walking down the street.
00:46We're here to see a Cubs game.
00:47We live in Waxon, listen all the time.
00:50So I asked Loren where the champagne was and got the dirtiest look.
00:54But I would expect that she probably could tell we don't live in a chateau.
01:02There's so much missing context to this.
01:06There's so many things that played into this moment.
01:10And it is just unfortunate.
01:12I would like to explain ourselves because I would like you to.
01:15I also reached out to Brad.
01:16He has not reached out back yet.
01:17So I'm not sure if he truly is mad at me or if he just hasn't read my message.
01:21However, the producer Nicole and I were staying at a different hotel than where you guys were staying.
01:28So every day we had to walk back and forth from our hotel to where the convention was being held.
01:36So one morning.
01:37Well, and also what was the running joke of the champagne or of the hotel?
01:43Of the weekend was that our hotel was shaped like a champagne bottle.
01:47Like it's one of the hotels in Chicago, right on brand for me, that they talk about on the architecture tour.
01:54So I had posted about it on social media.
01:57And when this person came up to us, when Brad came up to us, we knew he wasn't from the convention.
02:04So we were so confused on like how he knew that we were talking about champagne.
02:10And I was like, well, maybe it came up because I tagged the location in Chicago and somebody just happened to see my story.
02:17Did he refer to you as, hey, Lauren and Nicole?
02:20No.
02:20And Lauren didn't even hear him.
02:22That's the thing is Lauren thought that here's this random guy in Chicago who was talking to the girl behind her mentioned champagne.
02:31And Lauren said something of, I don't know, but I want some.
02:34Yeah.
02:35But like she said that like to me thinking that like she's not interrupting this conversation.
02:40And so we go across the crosswalk and he goes the opposite way.
02:44And then all I hear him say is Charlotte radio.
02:47So I didn't even hear that part.
02:49So when he said this to me about where's the champagne, there was literally a girl who was with him behind me and they were meeting up.
03:01So when I turned around and saw her walk over to him, I was like, oh, clearly he's talking to her.
03:07So that's why I said to producer Nicole, I don't know, but if he has champagne, I'm going with him.
03:13Yes, that is a whole thing.
03:15And none of it went through Brad.
03:17Like everything happened around Brad.
03:20And now Brad thinks you guys are rude.
03:21And he's from my he's my Waxhaw brother in.
03:23Which, by the way, can we just talk about the odds of running to someone at a crosswalk in Chicago?
03:30They're like, that's only the second time either of us have ever been there.
03:35Yeah, I mean, so confused.
03:36You're a pretty big celebrity, Nicole.
03:38You're very noticeable.
03:39And not in Chicago, maybe in Waxhaw, apparently in Chicago, so much from Waxhaw's in Chicago.
03:46They notice you.
03:46But like we're talking and I'm like, if I'm ever going to get taken by somebody, it's going to be over a bottle of champagne.
03:53Like, I'll follow you anywhere.
03:56Instead of an ice cream truck, it's a champagne truck.
03:59So how do we make it right?

04:03So I reached out to Brad and I said, Brad, Roy showed me your message.
04:06I'm so sorry.
04:07Nicole and I were so confused when you saw us.
04:10I knew that you weren't there for the radio convention, but I had no idea how you knew us.
04:15I legit just said to Nicole about the champagne thing, if I'm ever going to get taken, it's going to be over champagne.
04:21And he has not responded yet.
