00:00this this has me fascinated this could be this could be very interesting
00:05so coop do you have my promo that i recorded yesterday yes so every day every day i record
00:15a little 10 15 second promo right that runs after the morning show and it just teases it promotes
00:22something that we're going to do the next day so here we are it's the next day and i'll say hey
00:27we'll talk about it at 7 45 we'll talk about it at 8 o'clock 7 30 do you have a you have a promo
00:31ready to go yes all right so this is what i recorded this ran all day yesterday listen
00:36i've been contacted by a listener that wants to hide a fortune somewhere in the tampa bay area
00:43check this out tomorrow morning 7 45 mj morning show here on q105 does that first of all back live
00:51does that does that concept sound familiar i don't know but when you said hide uh i thought
00:59you were going to go into dead body but then you went into fortune so i was like okay we're good
01:03yeah okay coop somebody wants to hide a fortune yeah you mean as in like a bunch of money
01:08or like guys what does this sound like does this uh sound familiar to something else that happened
01:15over the last number of years somebody else hide a fortune dude remember the treasure hunt with that
01:23guy that hid the money out west in the rockies like a couple of million dollars when you said
01:28hide a fortune i thought of like a pirate's chest because you know we're here in tampa i'm thinking
01:32of one-eyed willy i had a guy approach me a tampa bay area resident who has been a listener to the
01:42show for a long time he is divorced he has no kids i checked him out and i could see the businesses
01:54i could see what he was affiliated with i gotta be careful because i i can't give away this guy's rich
02:00so this guy yes okay hold on all right i've i've checked the guy out there's rich and then there's
02:06rich the guy told me that he would like to do one of these treasure hunts oh my god and hide a
02:16fortune somewhere in florida all right and he wanted our show to be the launch vehicle oh my god
02:27somewhere in florida yeah well so let's how broad uh it is it is who's going up to fort walton beach to
02:34look for a treasure i would guess that it would be the tampa i get i'm guessing it would be the
02:40tampa bay area all right is what i'm guessing i know where to hide it so i know you guys have
02:43questions so let me just be very clear here folks this has been in development since
02:50yesterday late no yeah but yesterday was the promo right i haven't even heard we haven't heard
02:56nothing about because well duh because i've been putting pieces together how much you let us know
03:01well no that's the point i can't let too many people know i can't let anyone know guess what
03:05now it's ready to talk about i i did not even bring uh emails into the studio i didn't want anything
03:11printed i didn't want his email address i wanted nothing here i've got no emails in the studio here
03:17will this guy remain anonymous the whole time uh yes okay well well for for now okay now when the
03:23when the money or the fortune the treasure if this happens if this would come to fruition then he would
03:33probably come forward uh as the individual behind it all right here's the deal i was approached
03:41before christmas break so i've been cultivating this we've been communicating it started off as
03:49an email i called him i then checked him out he now has my cell number we've been texting we've been
03:57talking and i said i'm going to just float the boat on the show and decided that it was going to be
04:07this week and it is right now so here's the deal a guy that is loaded now have i seen his bank accounts
04:16or his bank statements no have i seen a letter of credit no but i have enough information i know his
04:23name i know what he's done with his career and yes you can find enough articles and pieces
04:31and linkedin stuff to kind of put this guy together as being yes a man of his word the guy
04:37is legit in the sense that with his name his background yes it is totally feasible that this
04:45guy has a schnitload of money so what he wants to do and he said he was always intrigued by the story
04:53of forrest fenn forrest fenn now let me fill in the rest of the pieces here forrest fenn
05:00is that older dude that buried like two million dollars in jewels and gold in a box in the rockies
05:13remember this guy all he said was that it was somewhere in the rockies and he gave clues didn't
05:20he write a poem this forrest fenn guy forrest fenn the thrill of the chase that was it so it was
05:26called so forrest fenn hid his fortune this box like worth two million dollars somewhere in the
05:34rockies and the whole launch was with a poem that he wrote and it was called the thrill of the chase
05:41and in the thrill of the chase this poem it gave clues as to where he buried the fortune
05:50and this went on for years and years and years and guess what forrest fenn's fortune
05:58was finally found man listen all this alliteration here uh remember it was finally found and the dude
06:05that found it was a guy by the name of jack stuf s-t-u-e-f 32 years old a medical student
06:14from michigan finally found the stash i think it was the summer of 2020 and he found the box
06:22in wyoming so in the rocky mountains in wyoming is where this medical student put all the clues
06:30together and found the box that forrest fenn buried so here we fast forward to now and a couple of
06:40weeks before christmas i'm contacted by a listener guy's been listening since the mj and bj days and he
06:48said that he wanted to run something by me he told me that he is uh that he's loaded that he's charitable
06:55he did not have any kids he is divorced and he wanted to do a similar treasure hunt to what forrest
07:06fenn did but he wanted to make it more valuable i don't have a number yet okay hold on more more
07:12value that's the big question that's that's it so he wants to have a treasure hunt in
07:17excess of two million dollars i don't have a number yet i you know i said uh i said three million
07:23four million would you go to five million and he hasn't shot that down so there's a chance that
07:29who knows you're talking about putting together a multi-million dollar treasure yes would it okay this
07:35guy and hide it he said somewhere in florida he is a tampa bay area resident and he's talking he
07:43said bury it somewhere in the state which i would probably try to guide him toward hiding this
07:50treasure in the tampa bay area uh well because we're based right here so this raises all kinds
07:58of questions first of all i'm intrigued fester i think you're intrigued by this uh froggy i'm intrigued
08:07if you guys have any listen for you you're like a metal detector weirdo no i love you're on the beach
08:12with your weirdo sandals and metal detector yes i like magnet fishing if froggy found this treasure
08:17then he wouldn't be weird he'd be rich so are they are they going to be like is it going to be in
08:22the middle of a field or is it going to be in like a landmark it could be anywhere all right the
08:27treasure could underwater all right so is it going to be cash are you going to vacuum seal the cash like
08:32like you're packing frozen meat all that's to be determined you can't bury cash deteriorate all well
08:37if you vacuum pack that's what i'm thinking you can put it at the bottom of the bag if you do it in
08:41in heavy heavy plastic and it's vacuum sealed uh that's to be determined oh man we're not to the
08:47point yet the guy has the means and he wants the mj morning show if he does this he wants us to be
08:55the promotional launch vehicle i know where to put it to to launch an actual treasure hunt here in
09:03florida where it would be based and and patterned off of this forrest fenn poem deal that he would
09:09come up with a series of clues and go find the money now this raises a lot of issues potentially
09:18and you know i'm wondering if i'm going to run into legal issues with with beasley media the the
09:24owner of of our radio station q105 and yeah coop coop well i was just going to say so the original guy
09:29you said he wrote a poem yeah so for this guys are gonna be clues hey uh fester do you have uh on
09:35the website read some of the lines bring up forrest fenn's poem so forrest fenn he's the old dude that
09:40he'll hid the two million dollars worth of golden jewels in the rockies and it was finally found now
09:46when did he hide that like in 2011 or something or he was an old man when he did it
09:51i think uh and here's yeah here's a picture of multi-millionaire forrest fenn he hid a treasure box
09:58this guy hid not not fennie forrest fenn f-e-n-n forrest fenn okay uh he hid actual gold coins yeah he
10:06hid yes he hid gold and that's a treasure and jewels he hid it was a whole combination of things
10:12that's like a pirate's treasure this guy just wants to do cash uh well we that's i haven't said yet and
10:18he hasn't said yet it's to be determined but he wants to make the buried treasure in florida
10:24more than two million dollars in crypto no no no freaking crypto he's gonna bury an nft
10:33uh no that that's the biggest racket those uh what is it the non fungible token don't get me started
10:41on that you know i want to go to phones on this uh folks are you intrigued as much as i am by this
10:47possibility would you be into a uh tampa bay or a florida treasure hunt where this rich dude listener
10:56buries millions and then has a series of clues and he was talking about that he reveals a different
11:06clue on a website like every month or every week yeah that website would be mjmorningshow.com
11:14well we would just say the clue once every other week i'm telling you right now this this has me
11:22fascinated this could be this could be very interesting all right if you have folks if you
11:27have any questions i'll try to answer what i can any observations with what i've just laid out
11:35about a potential multi multi-million dollar treasure hunt with a rich guy burying a ton of
11:44loot somewhere in florida offering up clues for people to go find it if you have any questions i'd
11:51love to grab some call any comments 800 are you are as intrigued as i am i mean this this is right up
11:57my alley guys all right 800-990-1047 800-990-1047 if you have any interest any comments any questions
12:08i'd love to grab your calls let's go 800-990-1047 800-990-1047 all right this forest fenn guy he just
12:20wrote one poem he did and and then let people decipher it your your billionaire guy wants to give
12:28out clues i don't know if he's i don't know if he's a billionaire you're i know the guy's loaded
12:32many times over multi-millionaire guy wants to just give out a clue every week that's it seems like it's
12:38a slow roll it's it's not not if we give out the clue that that is not determined yet the actual
12:45methodology the actual execution of this is not this is in the early stages i would imagine that
12:53this could easily get rolled out and done sometime this year all right i want to go to phones but also
13:00i see some potential problems here me too the the problems that i see is uh our company's legal
13:09department oh i see that as the smallest problem why is that the biggest problem is
13:15hordes of people coming from around the country to set up camps to dig up farm fields here in the
13:21greater tampa bay area but that's the problem it's the legal that's the dude you're right that is the
13:26problem which could go back to our legal department here at q105 and beasley media because they're gonna
13:33say i i listen i've been around this stuff long enough i've been around these corporate uh broadcast
13:38lawyers enough and i've had enough bits and enough things wrecked by lawyers over the years or sticking
13:45their nose in or you can't do this you can't so my concern is is that exactly what you just said that
13:51this could be disruptive and that could we be held liable if we're the conduit of information to launch
13:58this guy's multi-million dollar treasure hunt in florida am i gonna have problems with beasley media
14:05our parent company's legal department saying you know that they think we're going to be held liable
14:10that we're going to be uh culpable if there are people that are you know hey ripping up strawberry
14:16fields in plant city hey guess what in the treasure hunt for forrest fenn's treasure four people died
14:22what all right we're not doing this dude forrest fenn the guy that hid the two million dollars worth
14:28the jewels and gold in the rockies and it was finally found that's dumb in 2020 four people
14:35are known to have died in pursuit of that treasure responsible for people's deaths before so that's
14:42that's one of the obstacles that i would have to over look at the phones every talking about no
14:47every line is jammed if somebody dies from this i'm never going to be able to live
14:52they entered it free will they didn't know he told them to look for the treasure hey coop i don't
14:56what do you see coops like giving me uh sign language in there what are you saying coop what
15:00are you saying he's he's telling your mic on what are you what he's telling you we got plenty of
15:04you give me sign language what oh no yeah i was just telling you uh that we have a lot of
15:07oh the phones all right let me go to phones on this uh noah is in palm harbor noah you're on the
15:12mj morning show your thoughts on uh this very intriguing concept hey mj how's it going doing well
15:20just wanted to uh you know pitch in it sounds exciting uh it could be something that they do
15:26around gasperilla get everybody kind of intrigued around the pirate scene in tampa i just hope they
15:31don't sink it in the hillsborough river um but but another thing uh i i do remember along what you
15:37were saying with the uh four people passing looking for this too i was watching a couple of youtube
15:41documentaries about the uh forest fence treasure um some people even went missing some people have
15:47been known to like go out look we're looking for that treasure and they still haven't found
15:51oh wait a minute so you're saying that four people are known dead looking for the forest fence for a
15:56treasure and that there are still other people that are missing that they never found that that's what
16:01i've heard oh my god he's an old man pretty crazy stuff and uh yeah i i do hope they do it it'd be
16:08something i'd be interested in i know a lot of people uh kind of get wrapped up in that stuff i know
16:14people quit their jobs dropped out of school oh yeah to colorado thinking they were going to find
16:18it so yeah you know the problem is is that something like this if the the guy that has
16:24approached me that wants to bury a treasure here in florida he says that he wants it it's going to
16:30be bigger than forest fence so forest fence was two million dollars don't have a number yet on what
16:35he would commit to but he definitely wants this treasure that he would bury to be bigger than forest
16:43fence chad uh is it chad oh no that was no that was no no all right let me grab chad next thanks
16:48no i appreciate the call chad is in tampa chad you're on the mj morning show on q105 your thoughts
16:53about this potential treasure hunt go ahead welcome back thank goodness you are back and live waking us
17:01up every morning so thank you very much thank you buddy thank you jen but um as somebody who lived
17:07right next door to tampa's most notorious roadside tragic zoo um i know that carol baskin would be
17:15totally against you doing something like this because she doesn't want you digging up anything
17:20and neither does any of the italians in town because you know you might dig up jimmy hoppa
17:25i think jimmy hoppa was ground up somewhere in michigan
17:30so but it's uh you know i understand what you're saying that that carol baskin doesn't want people
17:37digging on on her land you know never know what you could find him i find what was that guy's name
17:43don don i find don on there but but chad still very intriguing story isn't it oh absolutely i think
17:52would be great for the tampa bay area as a business owner in tampa i think would bring people
17:57from all over the world and it would just put us back on uh champa bay right it would be another
18:02champa bay victory thanks chad appreciate the call all right 800-990-1047 any i'm gonna wrap
18:10this up in a minute but if you have any questions 800-990-1047 so any comments your thoughts on a
18:20multi-million dollar treasure buried in florida and we're the launch of this it's not our money
18:27we're not responsible for the rules i'm just concerned that i might run i'm just being honest
18:34here i'm being 100 transparent that i'm just concerned that i could run into some legal issues
18:41with our legal department why don't you call well ask him i know he's just gonna say well but
18:49well won't he give you some sort of indication as if this is a bad idea let me go back to phones i
18:54got to wrap this up because i got a lot of stuff to do here on this friday uh maybe i'll well all right
18:59uh keenal is in wesley chapel hey keenal you're on the mj morning show hi hey todd uh and uh froggy
19:08investor love you guys are back but my question with this is i'm very interested in doing this
19:13treasure hunt as well who's going to pay the taxes on this well well you know that's a good question
19:20i'm not paying that that's a good question so if if you find the treasure you know what is the what
19:27is the irs ruling on that so if if you participate in a treasure hunt and let's say this thing's worth
19:33well he wants to go more than two million bucks let's say it's three four five million bucks
19:37is yeah would would how do you uh how do you pay taxes on that it's a very good question
19:43i'm sure there's an irs form for sunken treasure no yeah i mean that's why i'm taking calls here
19:50because that is a very very good question i i saw can't the state take it can't they take it no it's
19:58his no no they i think a state certain countries find a treasure certain countries and states i think
20:04that they might have a key west they took the guy's treasure they might have a historical claim
20:09uh in some places i i believe if you find like a spanish galley yeah that belongs to the world
20:15that doesn't belong to you that's well that was the deal remember the treasure hunters that
20:19the underwater treasure hunters that were based right here in tampa odyssey right odyssey marine
20:24they ran into some issues where governments were like that's our treasure now were claiming
20:28treasures that they actually found hey uh am i saying is it keenel is that right
20:33yeah oh well keenel thanks for the call that that is a very good question that's exactly why i decided
20:38to take phone calls you know who would be responsible for taxes that's a very good question
20:42all right let me just take a couple more calls doug is in lakeland doug you're on the mj morning show
20:47on q105 what are your what are your thoughts about this uh buried treasure this guy wants to do
20:52i think it's a good idea man now would you quit your job and dedicate your life to hunting down
21:00this treasure if it was like three million dollars well i wouldn't go that far i'm unemployed i'm
21:05disabled but uh i wouldn't go that far to quit a job but i would participate in doing it and the
21:10question i had was if the money was hit on city property would the city have a claim or county
21:15property would they have a claim or private property would that person have a claim so i'm saying
21:21all are good questions and you would have to take uh into consideration where this would be uh hidden
21:27and the other thing let me tell you something else that's been floated is is the actual treasure hidden
21:35or is it just a token to claim the treasure so so so my my conversations with this man that wants to
21:46hide a treasure in florida it's the discussion did go to should he bury the actual treasure itself
21:54like what this uh what what fenn did what forrest fenn did in the rockies or do you bury a a token
22:03like a a claim token to claim the actual fortune the treasure that's that's the question i mean doug if
22:10you find three million dollars in cash you're probably not telling anybody right you just keep it to
22:15yourself all right chris is in lakeland uh one more call here uh chris you're on the mj morning show
22:20hi hey good morning mj uh what do you think hey uh you kind of just said my last my question on that
22:27last bit there as far as the actual treasure being claimed or a token or maybe like a golden ticket
22:32because yeah like you said if somebody wins it they may not tell anybody well there goes your whole
22:37radio bit you know the whole deal yep we would never know the treasure was actually found if it was
22:42somebody that just kept it to themselves right and that's what we had discussed is uh also for
22:49safety reasons for just controlling the actual treasure itself and making sure that the ending
22:57is done properly if it's found that you just have a certificate or a token that's buried and then
23:05that is a hundred percent claimable for the actual treasure which would be spelled out everything
23:11that would be of value to add up to the millions of dollars that this guy wants to bury uh right it
23:18would all be crystal clear and it would be fully transparent so well that way too and then like
23:25maybe with the lottery as some states do the person can stay anonymous you know but at least we could
23:31maybe hear their voice or you know something showing that yeah an actual person did win it but if they
23:37wanted to stay anonymous to keep the dirtbag relatives out there you know away maybe they could do it
23:43that way even all right buddy thanks for the call all right folks i've just dropped the bomb i've just
23:48done the big revelation on the commute on the communications on the contact that i've had with this man
23:57we've spoken multiple times he wants to do it i'm just wondering if i'm going to get a bunch of crap
24:06from legal uh here at our radio company saying that this could be you know dangerous disruptive you know
24:13four people died looking for forest fence treasure uh you know back uh you know a couple of years ago
24:18in the in the rockies so i'm just i'm just kind of unloading the potential pushback that i could get
24:25as being the media conduit to help this guy launch because you know listen once we actually do this
24:31if this happens you realize that this is going to become a media circus this is going to be
24:37a television circus this is going to city slickers in tampa bay this is going to be an app this is
24:45going to go national yeah well this is like the bad city slickers curly's gold not the original
24:50titty slickers that was about rustling rustling cattle i'm looking on my phone i already i already
24:56have two texts from local tv reporters i know i've got two i'm not going to say who it is but i got two
25:02texts from from local tv reporters either from channel 8 channel 13 channel 10 or channel 28 i already
25:11have text two reporters uh asking for more details and and can they can they be part of the story oh my god
25:19because of your hair we could call it fine curly's gold because you have curly hair it's not my gold
25:25it's this guy's gold i mean he's gonna have to give the naming rights to you on this right he's just
25:29the financier no no no no no no no no no no no it's it's not no no okay well hold on what are we
25:38what are we doing hang on we it's it's his treasure it's he he names it it's not the mj morning show
25:47treasure hunt why not i mean that's what i thought we were doing the whole time he is going to allow
25:52us to uh launch the whole thing so it's going to be the blank blank blank or whatever it's named
25:58no it needs to be ours we're the ones that are launching it we would be potentially also potentially
26:05we would be the conduit for which the clues would be given out either on a website or maybe i would give
26:14out clues oh so we do all the work and he gets all the glory he's just using you as his muse we
26:19would be we would be the promotional vehicle for this okay guys i'm telling you i would be fine with
26:26that i didn't expect it to be the mj morning show five million dollar treasure hunt curly's gold
26:31that's exactly what i was thinking it was okay coop you want me to take another one yeah take this
26:39one because uh i couldn't answer his question all right james and wesley chappell james you're on the
26:43mj morning show on q105 hi hey mj how you doing hey do you remember the movie it's a mad mad mad mad
26:51world i do my grandfather loved that i i got exposed to that when i was like three when they had
26:57every comedian in it yep what was that froggy you had every comedian hold on everyone's talking at the
27:03same time what it wasn't like every comedian like at the time in that movie yeah back in the like
27:071960s i'm sorry go ahead yeah buddy hack is they're all the uh um little guy but um this is
27:15like a real life mad man i'm telling you that that's exactly what'll turn we'll be like climbing
27:19buildings and well that's the deal is it could get disruptive when you're dealing with this kind of
27:25a hype and this kind of a potential payoff you know things could get a little disruptive and right
27:32you know i gotta be honest you know if we're involved i gotta figure if we get involved and help
27:37launch this i gotta figure out a way to legally insulate us which definitely i i don't know if
27:43that's possible that's that's one of the questions here we also mj have to be intimately involved with
27:48this if we're gonna put our name behind it even as a promotional vehicle yeah that's true we gotta
27:53be sure that the guy's good for it we the money's got to be held in some kind of account he can't just
27:57keep it in his pocket and pay up when somebody shows up with the coin i mean are you getting hosed
28:01i'm not getting hosed you can't be totally responsible people's behavior too i mean i mean
28:06i know we get a lot of road rage here and it'll probably escalate well listen if i got involved
28:10the the treasure would have to be held in escrow somewhere or you know it would have to be yeah
28:14that would have to be uh set straight thanks for the call i appreciate it all right i gotta move on
28:19but there you are i've just dropped i think a pretty big bombshell on something that could be
28:25unfreaking believably exciting i think the more mayhem it causes the better i want to know all
28:32the details except for where it's actually hidden because i'll roll over you know you guys can't keep
28:35the tippy top top top of the skyway all right three tv reporters now oh actually it's an anchor
28:41so two an anchor two tv reporters and a local anchor have already texted me all right about uh doing a
