Entering the fun that is The Generation Game are Adrian & Anita Halliwell from Somerset, Vashti & Ian Jeffrey from Middlesex and London, Norman & Lisa Mitchell from Sussex, and Kate Walters & Chris O'Brien from Warwickshire. Bruce Forsyth hosts and Rosemary Ford offers her assistance as the couples navigate such games as Rugby Scrummage (involving Hampshire Rugby Union college), Origami makes a comeback, while two couples have to play at Thunderbirds before playing an Antiques guessing game in "The Price is What?" The finale sees a film noir spoof called "Forsyth Forties", though it could also be titled "Brucie Bonuses" as he gets to grips with a number of the ladies, including the ever lovely Miss Ford. Despite this, there are times where this feels it has been edited (such as when one contestant reveals he met his wife in hospital), but there are also a number of guest stars to sweeten the pill, including Vicki Michelle, Eric Knowles and Gerry Anderson (yes, THAT Gerry Anderson!). It's saucy but it's fun, so enjoy.

00:40Welcome to the Generation Game
00:42Nice to see you
00:43To see you
00:44Always
00:45And thank you for that wonderful, wonderful ovation
00:48But this hero worship must stop
00:50Because it's all too much for such a shy, modest, withdrawn
00:54Unassuming, quiet, humble and timid person
00:58Like myself
01:00It's at times like this when I honestly wish
01:02I didn't look like Nell Gibson
01:09Now here's someone else who wishes I didn't look like Nell Gibson
01:12Here she is, the gorgeous, the lovely
01:14Rosemary Fall
01:16Yeah, lovely crowd
01:28By the way, did you enjoy doing the fast last week?
01:30Yes I did, you know, I think it showed my versatility
01:34Yeah, several times
01:35Now I'd like us to do some more serious acting on the show, you know, just for a change
01:40Serious acting?
01:41Oh, Bruce, I know I can do it
01:43Anyway, you could help me because you told me that you've done lots of serious acting
01:47Oh, very true
01:48Oh, very true
01:49Shakespeare
01:50Oh, Shakespeare
01:51I was in King Liar
01:52Oh, don't you mean King Lear?
01:54No, King Liar, I told them I could act
01:56But what do you mean by serious acting, Rosemary?
01:59Well, I've always longed to play the part of a woman of great feeling, a woman full of emotion and passion
02:06I think Lady Chatterley
02:08Lady Chatterley?
02:09Hmm, with you as Mel as the gamekeeper
02:11I'm sorry, I've just got a headache
02:15Rosemary

02:22Our first teams from Somerset
02:24Their father and daughter, Adrian and Anita Halliwell
02:27Welcome, welcome
02:28Now, it's Anita Halliwell, you're a full-time student
02:41That's right
02:42Oh, you are, good
02:43Any part-time?
02:44Yes, I'm a part-time checkout supervisor at Leo Superstore in Wellington
02:48Oh, really? Super, yes
02:49Yes
02:50I love supermarkets but I always get the trolley with the wonky wheel
02:53You know, and they should have traffic lights, you know, at the end of the lane, don't you think?
02:58They should, and a speed limit
03:01It's the drivers, I'm afraid
03:02Yes, the old girls, the old girls that do it
03:05You know, two of them caught me between health and beauty and fruit and veg
03:10Oh, they need to crush my King Edwards
03:12Alright, over to Adrian
03:16Now, you're married to Anne for 21 years
03:18That's right
03:19Can you remember the honeymoon?
03:20I can, Bruce, yes
03:21It was a bit of a problem, that one
03:23Well
03:24On the second day of the honeymoon, we were travelling from Hertfordshire to Somerset to have our honeymoon
03:28Yes
03:29And we got about as far as Reading

03:35Good boy
03:36Oh, did it again
03:37Little bit more
03:38Five minutes later, went back
03:39Whoosh, up my arm, crossed the chest, and there's a bit between the legs
03:42Well, I've heard a spashing out on your honeymoon, but it's not what it was
03:46That is ridiculous

05:18So...
05:18We don't want them back to your mum.
05:27And don't worry, Rosie, you'll do the iron in.

05:47Yes.
05:48I see.
05:48It must have been a bit difficult courting an air stewardess, wasn't it?
05:51It was, because I couldn't keep her at home.
05:53She decided to embark on a year trip to the Middle East.
05:55And very handy to be able to buy the ring in a duty-free shop.

13:55Hey.
13:58Lovely.
13:59Oh.
14:01Well, I wasn't working harder than you.
14:04Anyway, now to judge this, we have the most capped England forward with 48 international
14:09appearances.
14:10One of the courageous Rugby World Cup final team, Mr. Peter Winterbottom.
14:20How are you?
14:21I'm so keen to mention.
14:22I really am.
14:25Really.
14:26And tell me, I know, that's what they all think as well.
14:30But tell me, was the recent Rugby World Cup the most exciting event you've ever been involved
14:36in?
14:36Yes, I think it was the most exciting event rugby's ever had.
14:40Yes, I think so.
14:41It was great to be a part of it.
14:43Anyway, you're not here to talk about that, of course, but what do you think?
14:47First of all, Mark's over this side.
14:48Um, we had a bit of trouble when it bent between his legs.
14:52Yes, you got a bit mixed up there, but don't we all?
14:54We all do, though.
14:57Yeah.
14:58Well, he was scolded there, you see, wasn't he?
15:01Scored in water, you see?
15:02I mean, he had a bit of trouble with the crossing over, but all in all, I thought it was an outstanding
15:08job.
15:08Yes.
15:08Excellent pass from Scrum Half.
15:10Yes.
15:10It was a good pass.
15:11Yes.
15:12Yes.
15:12Uh, I'm a very generous person, you know.
15:14You are, of course.
15:15I've heard about that.
15:16I've heard about 15.
15:1715, that's very good.
15:18Very good indeed.
15:19Lovely.
15:20Now, what about over here, apart from Vashti's pass at the end?
15:24The pass was a little, uh, a little low.
15:28A little bubbly.
15:28It was, yes.
15:29Yes, I nearly said silly Vashti, but, uh, I controlled myself.
15:33But, uh, an outstanding effort, and you did, uh, have a little bit of trouble with the
15:39crossing over, and I'm going to give you 12.
15:41Do you think that's fair?
15:42I think that's fair.
15:43They were that, but a little bit better.
15:45Peter, thank you very much.
15:47And you're going to play in the next World Cup?
15:49I'm not too sure about that.
15:50You're not too sure about that.
15:51Anyway, thank you for being here.
15:52Peter Winterbottom.
15:53Peter, Peter.
16:00Just wanted to see how good he was.
16:03All right.
16:04Well, now, what's on the scoreboard, Miss Ford?
16:08Adrian and Anita have scored 15.
16:10Vashti and Ian have scored 12.
16:12Right.
16:13Now, over you go over there, and just sit yourself down just for a minute, because our
16:16next game is called Cut It Out.
16:19But first of all, feast your eyes on this.
16:22There we are.
16:23All cut out of pieces of paper.
16:26Making a welcome return is the best kirigami artist I've ever seen.
16:31The delightful Megumi Biddle.
16:41We did that the last time, yes.
16:43And thank you for coming back to see us.
16:45Now, you've also written books on the subject of kirigami.
16:49Yeah, making flowers.
16:50Oh, making flowers.
16:51Yes.
16:51Oh, that's a making flowers one.
16:52Oh, I see.
16:53And you've done this book with your husband.
16:55Yes.
16:55Right.
16:56Over here, and if you'll just get in, stand about there, if you will, that you've seen
17:01everything that Megumi's up to, and watch very carefully.
17:04Off you go.
17:05Hey.
17:07Just another paper in half.
17:10Tip.
17:10Tip.
17:12And.
17:14Try and guess what she's going to make.
17:18There it is.
17:19Any ideas yet of what it's going to be?
17:31No?
17:33Yeah, what do you think?
17:34And the back of the kangaroo.
17:35A kangaroo?
17:37You're right.
17:37You're right, Vashti.
17:39Yes.
17:40And the tail.
17:42And there's his tail.
17:44Or her tail.
17:46Hurry up.
17:46Just keep standing on the head down.
17:49I think when she does the head there, just a quick flick there, and then the tail, she
17:54just twists that up like that, and with a bit of luck like that, that should stand up
18:00like that.
18:00There you are.
18:01It's a good job.
18:02You have to get nervous.
18:04Oh, it's not having a lot.
18:05It's not having a lot.
18:07So this is going to be?
18:08Yeah, going to make a pouch.
18:10A pouch.
18:11Yeah.
18:11A pouch.
18:12Don't forget that it's a suit.
18:13You see the little thing there?
18:14It just slots in.
18:15And she's just put a little nick.
18:17That's it.
18:17Fine.
18:17There's the little pouch.
18:19Then.
18:20And she's going to make a baby.
18:23Because you're a midwife as well, aren't you?
18:25Yes.
18:26Yes.
18:26Yes.
18:26Because you'll be here.
18:29Don't cut out for it.
18:31Of course, it'll be much smaller.
18:33And the little tail.
18:34And there she goes.
18:35Important.
18:36Now, I hope you're going to have a go at this at home, children.
18:39And you'll have a lot of fun trying to do this.
18:41It really is lovely.
18:42Just think of the profile of the kangaroo.
18:45And there it is.
18:46Isn't that beautiful?
18:47Absolutely.
18:49A mouthful.
18:50You really are.
18:51Thank you, Bobby.
18:52Will you come back and do some mouthful?
18:54Yes.
18:54Yes.
18:54Yes.
18:55Oh, yes.
18:56You take that with you.
18:58Jolly good.
18:59Lovely.
18:59Off you go, then.
19:00You stay there, Vashti and Ian.
19:02And come over here, Anita and Adrian.
19:05Okay?
19:05Get to your tables.
19:06Now, you've got about a minute and a half, starting from now.
19:16Yeah, think of the profile.
19:18Just think of the profile.
19:21And then it will all...
19:22If I can help...
19:25I look like a pelican.
19:28Thanks for laughing at that.
19:29Nobody else did.
19:30Yeah?
19:32Shit.
19:34What's the matter of that, see?
19:36Yeah.
19:37That's the skinniest kangaroo I've ever seen.
19:40Don't like it.
19:43And the thickest tail I've ever seen as well.
19:46Oh, dear.
19:48Yeah, I don't know what you're going to...
19:49Anyway, you should be cutting out the pouch now.
19:51Get on with the pouch.
19:53I don't know where you're going to put a pouch on, Matt.
19:54It's so thick.
19:56Okay.
19:57How about the baby?
19:58Now, start on the baby kangaroo.
20:00Even if you haven't finished the pouch, just sort of put it there.
20:03And so we can see what you're doing.
20:04And now, do the little baby.
20:07Do the little baby.
20:09I bet you wish you were doing the rugby again now, don't you?
20:13There we are.
20:14Okay.
20:15All right.
20:16Time's up.
20:17Megumi, would you like to come back and do some marking?
20:19Oh, it was standing up so beautifully.
20:29Sorry about that.
20:30But there we are.
20:32It does stand by itself.
20:34You see?
20:35There it is.
20:36And there's the profile of it.
20:37It's not a bad effort, is it?
20:39Yes.
20:39Very good.
20:40And here's the little baby.
20:41Yep.
20:41Looks a bit like a small crocodile.
20:45But I'm sure she wouldn't mind.
20:46And it does pop in there, I think.
20:48Yes.
20:48I think it would pop in, wouldn't it?
20:50Look.
20:50Yes, he's very good.
20:50Kissing mummy.
20:51Look at that, kissing mummy.
20:52That's it.
20:53What do you think?
20:54Yes, he's very good.
20:55I think I give him eight points.
20:57Eight points.
20:58Very good.
20:58I thought so.
21:00Excellent.
21:01Excellent.
21:01And this, well, it's a bit of a headless kangaroo.
21:07It has got a tail, but there's the front of it.
21:10Yep.
21:10You see?
21:11And there's the profile.
21:13There's the pouch, which would have, I suppose, almost gone in there.
21:18She would have put on a bit of weight to get the pouch in.
21:21And there's the baby.
21:23But what do you think?
21:24Yes, but she got the mother and pouch and the baby.
21:27It's very good.
21:27I give seven points.
21:29Seven?
21:30Yes, seven.
21:30There's me.
21:31Hi, Matt.
21:32Hi, Matt.
21:33All right.
21:34Okay.
21:35Now, this is where the trouble begins.
21:39I mean, look at this.
21:45There's the profile.
21:46I mean, it looks like last year's Christmas tree.
21:51And the baby.
21:53She's got a baby there.
21:55There are babies.
21:57You can tell whose mummy it is.
22:00And there's the pouch, which doesn't mean anything.
22:14What do you think?
22:16Yes, very lovely.
22:17Very lovely.
22:18Yes, mother, baby.
22:19Mother and baby, yes.
22:20I get seven.
22:22You get seven as well.
22:23Well done.
22:24Well done.
22:26There we are.
22:28Well done.
22:29This is well.
22:30Now, which is the baby and which is the mother?
22:33I mean, what is that?
22:36Well, I mean, this is the baby.
22:38It hasn't got a pouch, no.
22:41There we are.
22:41But I don't think it needs...
22:42I don't think it would know what to do with a pouch if it had one.
22:44And the baby's growing up fast, so I don't think it needs to get a pouch.
22:48I mean, well, there you are.
22:50What do you think?
22:51I think six points.
22:52Just six?
22:52Six points.
22:53Still very good.
22:54Still very good.
22:55Good evening.
22:56Good night with your books.
22:57Thank you for being with us and good night with your hand.
23:00Let's get on.
23:01Here we are.
23:01Come on, a bit of hope, a bit of hope, a bit of hope.
23:04Come here.
23:05Come here.
23:06Oh, dear.
23:08Oh, dear.
23:09Now then, what's on the board, Miss Ford?
23:11Anita and Adrian have scored 30.
23:1430.
23:14Ashti and Ian have scored 25.
23:16Oh, 25.
23:18Bad.
23:19We're sorry to lose you.
23:20This has been lovely to meet you.
23:22You really have.
23:23And, you know, you will have a Generation Game telephone for both of you.
23:26Keep in touch with yourselves and us, of course.
23:28Thank you for being with us.
23:29And, of course, we'll be seeing you in our grand final.
23:32So, relax and get ready for it.
23:34Okay.
23:35There we are.
23:36Nice people.
23:38What have we got left?
23:39Our third team's from Sussex.
23:41Their father and daughter, Norman and Lisa Mitchell.
23:44Yeah!
23:53How are you?
23:54How are you?
23:54Jolly good.
23:55Fine.
23:56Now, it's Lisa Mitchell and you're a private investigator.
23:59Really?
23:59And a solicitor's agent?
24:01Yes.
24:01Does that mean you serve Ritz on people?
24:04Yes.
24:05Yes?
24:05That's not why you're here tonight, is it?
24:07No, actually.
24:08Well, I hope not.
24:09Oh, please, don't scare me like that.
24:10No.
24:10You were married for eight years.
24:12It says you were married.
24:13So, what happened then?
24:14Well, I had three children, Jamie, Dan and Jason.
24:16Yes.
24:17And then we separated.
24:18Oh, yes.
24:19And we were separated for three years.
24:21We divorced.
24:21Yeah.
24:22Now we're back together again.
24:23You're back together again?
24:24Well, that's nice.
24:25That is nice.
24:26And your main hobby is the trampoline?
24:30Yes.
24:30Oh, really?
24:31Do you practice a lot of that?
24:33Off and on.
24:33Off and on, yeah.
24:34When I'm not busy serving Ritz.
24:36It's an unusual, unusual job, I mean, unusual hobby, rather.
24:39Yeah, well, it's job time.
24:40But what I was trying to think of, it's handy for your job, isn't it?
24:43I can tell.
24:44Because you just put the trampoline outside the house, bounce up and down, you see?
24:49And then you can get a good look into the bedroom.
24:52It's difficult with a camera in your hand.
24:54Anyway, over now for your father, Norman Mitchell.
24:57Norman, lovely to meet you.
24:58And you're a carpenter.
25:00Good, strong hands.
25:00I'm a tall girl.
25:01Love us, yes.
25:02And you're married to Marjorie for 39 years.
25:04And where did you meet her?
25:06In bed.
25:11What do you mean?
25:12Where?
25:12What?
25:13I was a patient in the hospital.
25:15My wife came in in uniform.
25:17She was in the night.
25:17Oh, she came in her uniform?
25:18Yes, to look to see if we wanted anything from the town.
25:21Yeah.
25:22And I thought she was beautiful.
25:23It was just love at first sight.
25:24She thought I was beautiful, that was it.
25:25Oh, it's lovely.
25:26It was lovely.
25:27Thank you, Norman, for being here.
25:31And thank you, Lisa.
25:32Okay, and we have a couple to oppose you.
25:35Anybody in there?
25:35Thank you, guys.
25:36Are there?
25:37That's lovely.
25:39And who's the last couple?
25:43They're from Warwickshire.
25:44They're mother-in-law and son-in-law, Kate Waters and Chris O'Brien.
25:48Okay.
25:57Lovely.
25:58And you're right there.
25:59Well, now, Kate Waters, you're a nursery school teacher.
26:02I am both, yes.
26:03Oh, good.
26:03And you're married to Graham, and he works in the power station.
26:06Oh, yes.
26:07So he's like me.
26:07He's in the generating game.
26:09You met when you were 16, and he had a large quiff.
26:17A large quiff of what?
26:19Oh, you naughty boy.
26:20A large quiff of blonde hair.
26:21We've been naughty boy.
26:22Oh, a blonde hair.
26:26Oh, a large blonde quiff.
26:27Oh, yeah, because it was the fashion there.
26:29I see, yes.
26:29And what happened there?
26:31I think it was about the first time I met him.
26:32He asked me out to the next dance, the social.
26:35Oh, lovely, yes, yes.
26:36And I went with him and made a new purple dress to wear.
26:39Oh, you made a new purple dress.
26:41I did, yes.
26:41Oh, that must have gone lovely with his large blonde quiff.
26:45I can see you now.
26:46Now, you celebrated your engagement by yourselves, and you had a small baby sham.
26:50Then what did you do after you had this baby sham?
26:53It's a bit naughty, really.
26:54What?
26:54Really?
26:55Naughty?
26:55Well, what happened?
26:56Next to the pub.
26:56Tell me what happened.
26:57Tell me what happened.
26:58Next to the pub, there was a field of new mown hay, and we went into the field and had a
27:03quick cuddle.
27:04Oh, really?
27:05In the new mown hay.
27:05In the new mown hay?
27:06Are you sure it wasn't his large blonde quiff?
27:09Anyway, that's lovely.
27:12He's celebrated like that.
27:13That's good.
27:14Now, over to your son-in-law, isn't it, son-in-law?
27:16Chris O'Brien.
27:17Yeah, that's right.
27:17Oh, you say all O'Briens are descended from the Highland King of Ireland, Brian Beru,
27:24in the 11th century.
27:25That's right, yeah.
27:26Oh, really, yeah.
27:26He was killed by the Danes at the Battle of Clontarf.
27:29Oh, yes, I remember that in history, yeah.
27:31You were there?
27:31No, I wasn't.
27:37That was a clever one.
27:38You've got no chance of winning.
27:41You met Her Majesty the Queen.
27:43Yeah, that's right, yeah.
27:44Oh, Your Excellency O'Brien.
27:46Yes, tell us a bit about that.
27:47I didn't know, yes.
27:48It was when I worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company, and I got introduced to her when she
27:52was opening a theatre.
27:53Oh, lovely, yes.
27:54Yes, so she inquired about my work with computers.
27:57Yes, she was interested in all that.
27:59Yeah, so I offered to sell her some computers.
28:01Shut up, shut up.
28:02It's all good, yes.
28:03It's all good.
28:05To himself, but he's...
28:06Go ahead, Chris.
28:09Oh, yeah.
28:10Offered to sell her some computer games.
28:12Oh, did you?
28:12Yeah.
28:12Oh, yeah.
28:13Offered her my phone number.
28:14He said, give us a ring.
28:15Do you want us to go and order some for you?
28:17You gave her your phone number?
28:18Well, I offered it.
28:20But you gave her.
28:21You told her what it was?
28:22Yeah.
28:22She never did ring me up again.
28:24So she must have forgotten it or lost it.
28:25I'll make a note of that.
28:28Delusions of grandeur.
28:29Anyway, Chris, thank you for...
28:32And tell us, you know, I didn't know we had royalty here.
28:34Thank you, Kate.
28:35We've got a game coming up right away.
28:37All right?
28:42So we're in now for our next game, which is called Thunderbirds.
28:47Thunderbirds.

37:15Alright well now
37:17It's the marking
37:18That is the important thing
37:19Oh this is the difficult part
37:20So first of all
37:20Lisa
37:21I felt you were
37:22Flapping your hands a lot
37:23Almost like you were
37:25Going to take off
37:25I thought
37:26Norman I thought
37:28Was just too heavy
37:30I mean it was
37:30He was a plodder
37:33Yes
37:33Well yeah
37:34Because we used to have
37:35A great deal of difficulty
37:36In keeping the puppets
37:37On the ground
37:37Yes
37:38And there was no difficulty
37:39In keeping you on the ground
37:40That was Michelle

37:49And what about over here
37:50Well
37:51Sorry don't worry
37:53Kate
37:54I thought
37:55At one point
37:56When you were walking
37:56It looked more like
37:58You were doing a dance
37:59Like a woman
38:00Or something
38:01So that was
38:02That was a bit of a shame
38:04Chris
38:06There was a point
38:07Where I thought
38:07You were actually swimming
38:08I mean but
38:09Despite all of that
38:12I thought you were
38:14Fourteen
38:15Fourteen
