Today's contestants are Eric Bates & Julie Godsall from Manchester, Barbara & Ken Fuller from London & Kent, Malcolm & Laura Smith from London, and Janice Wood & Dominic Haynes from Northampton. Bruce Forsyth hosts, with help from Rosemary Ford, and learns from one contestant of an embarrassing holiday, while another comments that they have the "famous Bates Bum!" The same contestant is disappointed that she wasn't on the Chippendales episode, but in a surprise for her it is the requests games, and first up she get to...yep, dance with the Chippendales! Further games include the Glue Pot game, Yodelling and assembling the Smooching Statues, before the final two pairs play off in a Lambada dance off to make it a nice ending for the Xmas episode to follow to end off the 1991 series.

00:09Life is the name of the game, and I wanna play the game with you.
00:16Life can be terribly great, if you don't play the game with two, and I wanna play the game
00:25with you.
00:27Hup-o!
00:34Thank you so much!
00:39What a welcome, thank you!
00:42Good evening!
00:43Good evening!
00:44Good evening!
00:45Good evening!
00:46Ladies, gentlemen, children, welcome to the Generation Game.
00:49Nice to see you, to see you...
00:51Nice!
00:52And what an ovation!
00:53You know, I haven't heard applause like that since Nigel Kennedy walked into the Royal
00:58Albert Hall on the wrong night and got knocked out in the second round.
01:02Welcome!
01:03Welcome to our...
01:05Sorry, welcome to your request show.
01:08New contestants playing some of your favourite games.
01:11And proving everybody has their own wacky way of doing something.
01:15But here's someone who hasn't been requested because she's a necessity.
01:19The gorgeous, the lovely, Rosemary Ford!
01:22There she is, there she is, there she is, the girl who's been whistled at more times
01:37than Lassie.
01:38By the way, how's the panto going?
01:40Oh, it's going really well, thank you.
01:41Oh, where, where is it again?
01:42It's in Cardiff.
01:43Oh, in Cardiff, yes.
01:44We'll give all the cars there, love, and have a wonderful season there.
01:46Oh, thank you.
01:47Lovely.
01:48But listen, Bruce, I've got a couple of announcements that I'd like to make to our viewers at home.
01:51That's all right.
01:52Oh, all right, go ahead.
01:53Okay, right, okay.
01:54Um, if you have any suggestions...
01:56I wish you'd have said that to me.
01:59But...
02:00If you have any suggestions for games, please let us know.
02:05Oh, all right.
02:10Oh, that was such a tiny kiss.
02:12Well, it's a tiny bit of mistletoe, what do you expect?
02:20Well, it's Christmas, I'm in a festive mood.
02:26Anyway, if...
02:29If you'd like to be a contestant, it's very easy.
02:32First of all, you have to have a blood test.
02:34No, you don't have to have a blood test.
02:37Oh, sorry.
02:38Then we send our research people to visit you, and...
02:41Don't worry, they'll only stay about a week, and they are house trained.
02:44Oh, no, no, Bruce.
02:45Now, come on, let's be serious.
02:46No, seriously, seriously.
02:47If you do have a game for us, or you'd like to be a contestant, please write to this address.
02:54Hold the card, Rosie.
02:55Oh, no, no, no.
02:56Why?
02:57I'm not holding the card.
02:58Why?
02:59Because I remember what happened last time I held the card.
03:00You hold it.
03:01No.
03:02They're fine.
03:03Anyway, please write to...
03:04Bruce Forsythe, Generation Game, BBC TV, Room 4008, TV Centre, Wood Lane, London W12, 7RJ.
03:15Can I stop smiling now?
03:20Well, I wish you would, because the camera wasn't on you anyway, it was on here.
03:24Oh, really?
03:25What a waste of charisma.
03:27All right, you better introduce the team.
03:29All right, I will do.
03:30Who have we got?
03:31Right, our first teams from Manchester, their father and daughter, Eric Bates and Julie Godsell.
03:35Welcome back.
03:36Now, it's Julie Godsell, and you're a housewife.
03:37I am.
03:38And you're married to Malcolm, and he's a bank officer.
03:39He is.
03:40Yes, and you met at work.
03:41How was that?
03:42We met on the induction course.
03:43What?
03:44The induction course.
03:45Oh, I thought you said seduction course.
03:46Oh, yeah.
03:47Oh, what a shame, because they were here a few weeks ago.
03:49Yeah, I know.
03:50It's all right.
03:51It's all right.
03:52All right, cool.
03:53Welcome back.
03:54Now, it's Julie Godsell, and you're a housewife.
03:55I am.
03:56And you're married to Malcolm, and he's a bank officer.
03:57He is.
03:58Yes, and you met at work.
03:59How was that?
04:00We met on the induction course.
04:01What?
04:02The induction course.
04:03Oh, I thought you said seduction course.
04:04What can we say?
04:05Say, not the bank that says yes.
04:07Gave me a cold shiver there.
04:09Your fantasy ambition is to appear on stage with the Chippendales.
04:12Oh, yeah.
04:13Oh, what a shame, because they were here a few weeks ago.
04:16I saw it.
04:17Oh, you did?
04:18Yeah.
04:19Oh, you did see it?
04:20A lot of people did.
04:21Yeah.
04:22And your maiden name was Bates.
04:25Yes.
04:26And the Bates females are famous for having the Bates bum.
04:29Well, a few females.
04:31The Bates bum?
04:32Yeah.
04:33We're rather unfortunate, and we have rather a large derriere.
04:36Oh, really?
04:37Yes.
04:38Oh, well.
04:39I'll just make a note of that.
04:42Well, reared family.
04:45Right.
04:46Now, over now to your father.
04:50Is it your father?
04:51Eric Bum.
04:52Yeah.
04:53Sorry, Bates.
04:54Didn't mean that.
04:56And you're a security officer.
04:58Yes.
04:59What do you think of the security here at the BBC?
05:01Not very impressed, really, Bruce.
05:02Really?
05:03Well, we got in.
05:04Well, they're very strict with me.
05:07You know, every day when I arrive, the same fella, the same security officer says,
05:11Who am I?
05:12And what do I want?
05:14You know, less before he directs me to the bike shed.
05:17And you had a budgie called Freddy.
05:20Tell us all about him.
05:21Oh, yeah.
05:22The little family budgie.
05:23Yes.
05:24He was rather partial to a pint.
05:25No, really?
05:26He liked his beer.
05:27He liked a drink, yeah.
05:28No.
05:29And he used to hop around the top of the beer glass.
05:30And one day, he went head first into it.
05:32Did you mean that?
05:35Yeah.
05:36Yeah, so I went to drag him out and give him the kiss of life.
05:38And sober him up.
05:39Yeah, sober him up and dry him up.
05:40I suppose there he was laying on his bed going, who's a boozy boy?
05:44Oh, dear.
05:45Oh, that's lovely.
05:46I'd like to see you do that.
05:47You look nice, people.
05:48Pop over there.
05:49We've got a team to play.
05:52Nice people.
05:53There we are.
05:54Nice people.
05:55Nice people.
05:56And our next team are?
05:59They're from London and Kent.
06:01They're mother and son, Barbara and Dave Fuller.
06:04Hi.
06:05How are you?
06:07And how are you?
06:12And how are you?
06:14Barbara and Dave.
06:15And Barbara Fuller, you're a catering assistant.
06:17That's right.
06:18And you're married to Reuben.
06:19That's it.
06:20Reuben, that's it.
06:23She's obviously seen Reuben.
06:24Yeah, he did.
06:26Right.
06:27He works for Tate and Lyle.
06:28That's it.
06:29I see.
06:30You have five sons.
06:31Five sons.
06:32Five sons.
06:33And he works for Tate and Lyle.
06:34He works for Tate and Lyle.
06:35He certainly did sweet talk you, didn't he?
06:37So, you do some strange things.
06:39Like what?
06:40Well, when the boys, you know, were young, I couldn't afford a washing machine.
06:44No.
06:45And a spinner.
06:46Oh, you couldn't afford, weren't you?
06:47Oh, no, shame, isn't it?
06:48You're a shame.
06:49So, I used to do me, I used to do my own washing, Bruce.
06:51So, this day, I thought I'd go around the Laundriette to do the spin.
06:54The where?
06:55The Laundriette.
06:56Laundriette?
06:57Yeah.
06:58The Laundriette.
06:59The Laundriette.
07:00The Laundriette.
07:01To do the spinning.
07:03Maybe you've got a different one, haven't you?
07:04To do the spinning.
07:05You know, spin my washing.
07:06Oh, spin your washing.
07:07Yes, yeah.
07:08In the Laundriette.
07:09I see.
07:10I get round there.
07:11Yes.
07:12She gets round there.
07:13I get round there, but I didn't have the washing.
07:16I had a bag of potatoes.
07:18Really?
07:19Well, I suppose you could wash your potatoes.
07:22Just put the jackets in first.
07:23Yes.
07:24Yes.
07:25And you left...
07:26Oh, shout out.
07:27And you left the washing of potatoes.
07:28Yes.
07:29So, what did you give them that night?
07:30Meeting two vests.
07:31Yes.
07:32Yes.
07:33Yes.
07:34Yes.
07:35Yes.
07:36Yes.
07:37Yes.
07:38Yes.
07:39Yes.
07:40Yes.
07:41Yes.
07:42Yes.
07:43Yes.
07:44Yes.
07:45Yes.
07:46Yes.
07:47Yes.
07:48Yes.
07:49Yes.
07:50Yes.
07:51Yes.
07:52Yes.
07:53Yes.
07:54Yes.
07:55I mean, I'm sick of every woman that writes to us on this show.
07:58The ambition is to dance with Patrick, in Dirty Down, and Patrick Swayze.
08:00Is he here?
08:01No, he's not.
08:02There would be no need for me, dear.
08:05He was here, but I want to know, what has he got that I haven't got?
08:09Oh, come outside and I'll tell you.
08:11Yes.
08:12They're far from all of us.
08:13Well now, it's over now to your son, Dave Fuller.
08:18You look a bit like Harry Wilmot, doesn't you?
08:19You look a bit like, you look a bit like Gary Wilmot, doesn't you?
08:22Please, please, please.
08:23Yeah, you do, you do, really.
08:25You're a scaffolder.
08:26That's correct.
08:27That could be dangerous.
08:28And you'd like to be a policeman.
08:30Yep.
08:31Oh, I see.
08:32So instead of running up ladders, you'd like to run down crooks.
08:35I see.
08:36You are, you have a fiancée, Helen.
08:38How long have you been engaged?
08:39About seven years.
08:41Seven years?
08:44Don't you rush into anything.
08:47Oh, it says here, you're getting married in 93.
08:50Now, is that 1993 or when you're 93?
08:54Because if you wait that long, the wedding night will kill you.
09:00You won a macho man competition.
09:02Tell us all about that.
09:03A macho man?
09:04Yep.
09:05I went on holiday with me a brother and his family.
09:07Yes.
09:08And I was pulled out from the audience with five other blokes.
09:11We had to take our tops off.
09:12Yes.
09:13And flex our muscles.
09:14Yes, yes.
09:15I went on to the audience, bring out a female.
09:17And I picked my seven-year-old blokes.
09:18To show them how much you were.
09:19That's it, you know.
09:20Oh, I see.
09:21Yeah, yeah.
09:22So fine, so what do you do?
09:23I picked my niece up, carried over my shoulder and took her back.
09:26And then the amount of applause you got from the audience made you win.
09:29Yes.
09:30And of course I was the best.
09:31Why your niece?
09:32I mean...
09:33Well, because she was the smallest to carry.
09:34Oh!
09:35And all the others, all the others picked out big women.
09:37And you were going to put this little girl out.
09:38Clever boy!
09:39That's what Harry Wilmot would have done.
09:40Thank you very much.
09:41We've got a game coming up.
09:42Oh!
09:43All right.
09:44Class.
09:45Now, before our first game, I'd just like to remind you that our contestants have no idea
09:59what we have planned for them.
10:01All right?
10:02Now, you're the one who wanted to dance with the Chippendales, didn't you?
10:07Yes.
10:08Right, we'll just strap you in.
10:11Here they are, the Chippendales!
10:13Here we go!
10:14Yeah, sure!
10:15Myers join the solo mission and pose.
10:16Yes.
10:17Yes.
10:18No!
10:19No!
10:22No!
10:23No!
10:24No!
10:25No!
10:26No!
10:27No!
10:28No!
10:29No!
10:30Yeah!
10:32No!
10:33No!
10:34No!
10:35No!
10:36No!
11:07Thank you all for coming back.
11:37Thank you for coming back, gentlemen, you know, on our request show, and boy did we get requests for you.
11:59I mean, one old lady, Muriel from Oxford.
12:02Oh, she sent a stamped address mailbag for one of them, so you'll have to draw lots for it, okay?
12:11Now, I hear that you're going to play at my favourite theatre in Britain.
12:15The London Palladium.
12:16The London Palladium.
12:18Oh, you're going to love it there.
12:19Oh, you're going to love it.
12:20Be careful.
12:22They might jump out the boxes.
12:23If you'll just get back to your positions, gentlemen.
12:28Thank you again.
12:30Give it all you've got, okay?
12:42Away you go.
12:43Here we go now, Chippendales.
12:46Take two.
12:47Oh, you're going to love it.
12:54Oh, you're going to love it.
12:56I'm going to love it.
12:57What's up?
13:57Here you go, give the pose.
14:07For goodness sake.
14:09Get away from me.
14:11Really, I'm surprised that you, Judy.
14:13Surprised. Over here, over here.
14:15And wait. My goodness.
14:17Second contestant's on, please, if you will.
14:24Alright, there you go.
14:26Try and stay in the line, if you will.
14:28Next to these two.
14:30Okay.
14:32Okay, away you go.
14:34Chippendales, take three.
14:36One, two, three, four.
14:38One, two, three, four.
14:40goin', go!
14:42Let's party with you guys.
14:44Let's party with you, you got sauce.
14:46Two, three, four, two, four, three.
14:48So try our good with you guys.
14:49Look.
14:50Now you raise the body religions.
14:51And you raise the識 and the sun at us.
14:53And we get a bye.
14:54Let's go now.
14:55I want your best to enjoy.
14:57I want to dance at my heart
14:59amazoo it like so
15:18we did ourselves
15:26we did backstage
15:35we did make Philly
15:42What about it?
15:52Oh, you were lovely, you were lovely.
15:58And thank you, gentlemen, for Chippendale.
16:01Lovely, we'll see you next year.
16:06Come back, if you will.
16:09There we are.
16:11You enjoyed that, didn't you, eh, Mike?
16:13And now to judge this, we have yet another Chippendale.
16:17It's Gary Sylvia.
16:27Well, the lads are all marvellous there.
16:29I can see you down there having a laugh about it all.
16:31But this is your first time in Britain?
16:33Sure, I've been here by two weeks now.
16:34Ah, are you enjoying it?
16:35Great time.
16:36Tell me, what are the Chippendale plans for next year?
16:38Because I hear you're coming back next year, but exactly what are you doing?
16:41We have, um, the main thing we're doing in March 30th, we're starting up at the Strand in London.
16:45The Strand Theatre.
16:46Oh, lovely, lovely.
16:47Bruce, we heard last time that you had some trouble wearing the official costume, the bow tie.
16:51Well, you know, I said I would be a Chippendale, but my bow tie wasn't big enough.
16:54Well, we have something now, a little more official, actually.
16:57Oh.
16:58Oh, it'll go lovely with my see-through shirt.
17:13Anyway, we've got to do some marking here.
17:19I know what you must have thought about this one, but as a team, Mark's out of 20.
17:24Well, I've got to tell you, all four of you, when you went out there, I was very impressed
17:26with your poise and your elegance.
17:29But then when you started to dance, something happened, I don't know.
17:32Um, you have great presence on the stage.
17:35You smiled a lot.
17:36You really, you stuck to the choreography pretty good.
17:38Um, uh, Eric, I don't know.
17:41Uh, you did fine.
17:43You give it a good effort.
17:44Um, I gave you guys a 15.
17:4615 out of 20?
17:47Well done.
17:48Well done.
17:49Now, what about these two over here?
17:53Now, Barbara and Dave, um, Dave, you, you make me embarrassed for myself.
17:59Um, you're very good.
18:02You have a lot of style.
18:03You do a lot of, a lot of different things that I actually want to call for.
18:05But, um, overall, between you together, I give you a 17.
18:1117.
18:12Oh!
18:13Well done.
18:14Well done.
18:15Thank you once again for being with us and good luck to you next year.
18:20Come back and see us any time.
18:22Oh!
18:23Well done.
18:24Now then, what's on the board, Ms. Ford?
18:28Well, Julie and Eric have scored 15.
18:3015.
18:31Barbara and Dave have scored 17.
18:32Oh, I say.
18:33Only two points in it.
18:34Two points.
18:35Okay.
18:36Now, go over there and, and sit, go on, and get it all off your chests.
18:41Okay?
18:42Here's another request game that sticks in your memory.
18:45It's called Give Us A Glue.
18:48Please welcome Derek Rowland.
18:51Thank you for coming back.
18:52It's one of the funniest things we've ever had at the show.
18:53And what have you been up to in the meantime?
18:54Er, I went over to Holland and done this on...
18:55Oh, you went over to Holland?
18:56On their version at the time.
18:57Because the funny thing is that the generation game originally came from Holland.
18:58Oh, yeah.
18:59And now they're taking the show from us.
19:00They're taking loads of games from us this time.
19:01Oh.
19:02This stuff that we come over here, this stuff that you're going to be playing around with
19:18here, it looks like sort of glue, but what is the substance?
19:23It's a gun they use in the bottling industry to put the labels on.
19:27They put the labels on the bottles with this.
19:29They just stick them on and that's the way it goes.
19:31Not by hand, with a machine.
19:32Not by hand, with a machine, yes.
19:33You'll see why not by hand in a moment.
19:36So, Derek, away you go.
19:37You've got to get a big handful of this, Bruce.
19:39Get a big handful.
19:40A big handful.
19:41Yeah.
19:42That's it.
19:43Fine.
19:44That's it.
19:45Now, watch very carefully.
19:46You can all see over there, all right?
19:48Can you just lean up?
19:49Now, you see he's going to get that all in these half pint glasses.
19:53Have you tried this, Bruce?
19:54No, I certainly haven't.
19:55I bet you could pick it up.
19:57But fair enough, this stuff hasn't got a smell, has it?
20:02No.
20:03In goes the next one.
20:04That's it.
20:05You see the way he measures it out there?
20:07You still keep me glued to the tellies?
20:10Still be glued to the tellies, right.
20:12That's it.
20:13That's that one.
20:14Pretty good.
20:15Yep.
20:16And now, here comes the next one.
20:17Good.
20:18Dead in the centre.
20:19See the way he ties off there?
20:21You see, you need quite a lot, so you need to take quite a bit when you start.
20:26And just nip it off.
20:27And nip it off.
20:28There we are.
20:29We didn't need the scissors.
20:30We didn't need the scissors.
20:31Well, marvellous.
20:32OK.
20:33I won't shake your hands for obvious reasons, but thank you, Luke.
20:34Will you come back and do some marking?
20:35Yes, certainly.
20:36Lovely.
20:37Off you go over there.
20:38And the first couple over here, if you will.
20:39Over here, my guy.
20:40That's it.
20:41Start this first one.
20:42And you get to the other one, eh?
20:43Good.
20:44And put on your overalls.
20:45Put on your coats.
20:46That's it.
20:47And when you put on your coats, when you put the gloves on, try and get them over the
21:01sleeves.
21:02Over the first part of the sleeve.
21:03Make it easier for you.
21:04Take a real...
21:05Take a lot of stuff.
21:06OK.
21:07Because you've got the three glasses to fill up.
21:08OK.
21:09Here we go.
21:10One minute, starting from now.
21:16Get plenty.
21:17That's it.
21:18Get plenty.
21:19That...
21:20That's it.
21:21You've got to fill the three glasses.
21:24It's easier dancing with a Chippen-Day, isn't it?
21:42It's easier dancing with a Chippendale, isn't it?
21:54Try and get as much in as you can.
21:58Try and get as much in. Oh, very good out there. Very good.
22:02And not as much mess.
22:06Keep going, keep going.
22:09Eric, you have got a pal there.
22:12You have got a pal there.
22:16Okay, time's up, time's up.
22:19Okay, come back and do some marking for us, will you?
22:23Come back now, put your hands in your pockets.
22:26Put your hands in your...
22:28Go on, put your hands in your pockets so you don't...
22:31That's it. That's what they told me to tell you.
22:34Put your hands in your pockets, then it'll...
22:39No.
22:41Well, stay there, stay there.
22:44I thought it was a lousy idea in the first one.
22:47Okay, put your hands in your pockets, that's it.
22:50Are you all right, my darling? Good, fine.
22:52Now, have a look at this one first of all.
22:54How did we do here?
22:55Well, that's not too bad at all.
22:56No, not very good, actually.
22:57Yeah.
22:58Just a little bit... Excellent, Eric.
22:59I couldn't see you most of the time, but very good.
23:02That's seven.
23:03Seven?
23:04Seven.
23:05Absolutely marvellous, absolutely marvellous.
23:06Are you all right now, darling?
23:08Move down there a bit if you will.
23:10Okay, fine.
23:11It's all over here, look.
23:13Okay, fine.
23:14Six for that one.
23:15Six for that one.
23:16Six for that one, not bad at all.
23:17Will somebody come and sing, yes, somebody sing to Julie there.
23:23Here we are.
23:24How about this one?
23:25She made a bit of a mess, but she got plenty in, didn't she?
23:27Let's fill them all up.
23:28Yes.
23:29Very nicely presented.
23:30And she's got...
23:32Beautifully presented.
23:33Beautifully presented.
23:34What do you think?
23:35Six.
23:36Six.
23:37Oh, not bad here, are you?
23:40Not bad either.
23:41Not bad either.
23:42Not a lot of mess at all.
23:43No, not a lot of mess.
23:44Good, but you're neat, aren't you?
23:45Thank you for that.
23:46Eh?
23:47Eight.
23:48Well done indeed.
23:49Oh!
23:50Thank you, Derek.
23:51Merry Christmas to you and thank you for being with us today.
23:53Lovely.
23:55Come on, man.
24:03You've got it all over, it's all right.
24:05Don't worry, dear, don't worry.
24:06Okay, what's on the board, Miss Ford?
24:08Well, Julie and Eric have scored 28.
24:10Barbara and Dave have scored 31.
24:13Oh!
24:14Well done, you two.
24:15And bad luck, you two.
24:17But we do have a Generation Dane...
24:19You go, Barbara.
24:20We do have a Generation Dane telephone for both of you.
24:23Thank you for being a part of the show.
24:24We'll see you in our grand final, which isn't so messy.
24:27I promise you.
24:28Off you go, Maria.
24:29Fine, off you go.
24:30Thank you for being with us.
24:31Great idea, that was.
24:34Put your hands in your pockets.
24:36Right.
24:37And who have we got left?
24:38Our 13s from London.
24:40Their father and daughter, Malcolm and Laura Smith.
24:43All right.
24:44All right, good.
24:45Welcome.
24:46And it's Laura Smith and you're a secretary.
24:47That's right.
24:48And you're single, no one special.
24:49Nope.
24:50So you're playing the field.
24:51What field do you play?
24:52I'm not playing.
24:53What are you?
24:54Well, I was born.
24:55Do you know Victoria Road?
24:56No.
24:57In Edmonton?
24:58Yes, yes.
24:59Well, I was born in Victoria Road.
25:00So you're a sports supporter.
25:01Well, not in the road, but I mean...
25:02I was born there.
25:03Right.
25:04You won a holiday in Jamaica.
25:05Yesterday.
25:06Oh, that's lovely.
25:07How did you go?
25:08I didn't go.
25:09Why?
25:10Because we won the accommodation and I couldn't afford the flight.
25:12Oh, what?
25:13That's bad luck.
25:14That's bad luck.
25:15You lived in Tenerife for a while.
25:16Yes, I did.
25:17That's right.
25:18And had an embarrassing experience.
25:19A rather embarrassing experience.
25:20Oh, good.
25:21Tell us all about that.
25:22I love embarrassing experiences.
25:23My girlfriend and I moved into a new apartment.
25:25Yes.
25:26And it was the only one finished on the actual site.
25:28Yes.
25:29So, um...
25:30I was born there.
25:31You won a holiday in Jamaica.
25:32Oh, that's lovely.
25:33How did you go?
25:34I didn't go.
25:35Why?
25:36Because we won the accommodation and I couldn't afford the flight.
25:37Oh, what?
25:38That's bad luck.
25:39You lived in Tenerife for a while.
25:40Yes, I did.
25:41So, um, the first evening we went to bed.
25:43Woke up in the morning.
25:44Yeah.
25:45And the workmen were still using it as a thoroughfare.
25:46Mm.
25:47And...
25:48These workmen are walking...
25:49Yeah.
25:50And the most embarrassing thing was we had nothing on.
25:52No.
25:53Really?
25:54Did...
25:55Did they leave you alone?
25:56They had a good look, but they left us alone.
25:58Oh, my goodness.
25:59Typical Spanish workmen.
26:01Yeah, never finish anything.
26:03Oh, now over to your dad.
26:10It's Dan and it's Malcolm Smith.
26:12Uh, love your crisps.
26:13Um, you're a post office counter clerk.
26:15Yes.
26:16A post office counter clerk.
26:17Oh.
26:18Yes.
26:19Well, the show's been on for about half an hour.
26:20It's been a pleasure to keep you waiting for me.
26:21My local post office, you know, is very festive at the moment.
26:31They've even got Holly around all the position close signs.
26:34You're married to Marion and she was taken ill on your honeymoon in Paris.
26:38What happened?
26:39Well, I thought I'd see if I could find a chemist shop open.
26:42Yes.
26:43In Paris, yeah.
26:44Yes.
26:45Uh, I was going past a cafe, saw them playing cards.
26:47Yeah.
26:48Stopped.
26:49Went in, sat down, started to play.
26:51You're joking.
26:52Yeah.
26:53Looked at the watch.
26:54It was four hours later.
26:55On your honeymoon, though?
26:56On my honeymoon.
26:57So I ran out, ran back to the hotel trying to think of some reason why I was four hours
27:00later.
27:01Yeah, just thinking of an excuse.
27:02I ran out to the room.
27:03Yeah.
27:04She was still sleeping.
27:05Fast asleep?
27:06Fast asleep.
27:07Well, I'm often saying, you know, if you play your cards, you'll be all right if you
27:09play your cards.
27:10In your case, it would have been a big, big night if you hadn't played games.
27:13What about that?
27:14I can't believe it.
27:15Wait over there.
27:16Nice people.
27:17Yes.
27:18And our last couple are...
27:23They're from Northamptonshire.
27:25Their mother and son, Janice Wood and Dominic Lee Haynes.
27:28Oh.
27:29How are you?
27:30Jolly good.
27:31That's fine.
27:32Just keep on the angle there.
27:33You're lovely.
27:34Right, and now it's Janice Wood.
27:35That's right.
27:36Janice Wood.
27:37Yes.
27:38Oh, well, that's nice to know.
27:39You're in the hairdressing business, and you're married to Colin?
27:40Yes.
27:41Where did you meet?
27:42Sorry about my throat.
27:43Whilst I was working behind the bar.
27:44Oh, really?
27:45Yes.
27:46He came in.
27:47I poured him a pint.
27:48Yes.
27:49And he said, cool.
27:50I'm sorry.
27:51I'm sorry about my throat.
27:52Whilst I was working behind the bar.
27:54Oh, really?
27:55Yes.
27:56He came in.
27:57I poured him a pint.
27:58And he said, cool.
27:59You didn't have to pour a good pint, darling.
28:01Oh, really?
28:02Yes.
28:03He sounds very romantic.
28:04Yes.
28:05How did he propose, this man of yours?
28:07In the pub again.
28:08Oh, in the pub again.
28:09I thought so.
28:10Yes.
28:11I thought so, yes.
28:12He went down on one knee, and asked me to marry him.
28:15Yeah.
28:16And they all started to sing, When I Fall In Love.
28:19Well, all the locals in the pub were all singing, When I Fall In Love.
28:22Oh, how lovely.
28:23And that broke my heart, so I had to say yes, darling.
28:24Oh, you had to say yes.
28:25Well, he certainly picked the right place, didn't he?
28:27Yes.
28:28Was the engagement ring a double diamond?
28:29Oh, your nickname is Rubber Face, because you can pull some awful faces.
28:41Well, you're lucky I don't have to.
28:44That wasn't that funny.
28:49Over now to your son, Dominic.
28:52That's right, yeah.
28:53Dominic, yeah.
28:54How tall are you?
28:55About 6'2".
28:566'2".
28:57Yes.
28:58So you're a big doll.
28:59Oh, I like Vito.
29:00And you're a hairdresser.
29:01Yeah.
29:02It does ruin it a bit, yeah.
29:04And you're single.
29:05You like good-looking ladies, such as?
29:07Yes.
29:08Oh, Cathy Lloyd.
29:09Cathy Lloyd.
29:10Yeah, Julia Roberts.
29:11And how could I forget Rosemary as well?
29:12Oh, Rosemary as well.
29:13Oh, yeah.
29:14Where is it?
29:15I know why you're single now, yes.
29:17You're choosing.
29:18I bet you don't get many Julia Roberts in your salon either.
29:22Now, you were doing a hairdressing demonstration once on stage, and it proved to be embarrassing.
29:27Well, that's right, yeah.
29:28What happened?
29:29Well, I've only just sort of recently started, and I was taking myself a little bit serious with a microphone.
29:33I thought, this was it, the life.
29:34Oh, yeah, yeah.
29:35And I noticed a few people having a few giggles, and I thought, well, what's it?
29:38Oh, you were getting a few laughs?
29:39Yeah, a few laughs.
29:40They like you.
29:41Yeah, well, I didn't, yeah.
29:42Not to be so.
29:43Why?
29:44Well, I looked down and noticed me flies were undone.
29:46Well, it was revealed.
29:47It was a cold day.
29:48Yeah.
29:49Oh, I'm afraid so.
29:50Really?
29:51Yeah.
29:52And they were all laughing all the way through the demonstration.
29:53Yeah, no one was to tell me.
29:54And you carried on willy-nilly.
29:55Yeah.
29:56Thank you very much for being here.
29:57Pop over there, because we've got a game coming right up for you now.

37:50Janice.
37:50Yes, Janice.
37:51Janice, good.
37:51Good.
37:52Five points.
37:52All right.
37:53Yes.
37:53Aha.
37:54You have...
37:55She's lovely, yes.
37:58Go on.
37:59Yes.
38:00Janice.
38:00Oh, yes.
38:01It was also interesting for me to see you because you have not start, I have think.
38:08Oh.
38:08She must get it.
38:09She must get it.
38:10Get it.
38:11Go on.
38:11Go on.
38:12Sing.
38:13And I think she has no power.
38:14Maybe she have no way.
38:15Oh, no.
38:16She didn't get it.
38:16She didn't get it.
38:17Yes.
38:17That's Jan.
38:18She won't start.
38:19Yes.
38:19Yes.
38:19But maybe she does get it regularly.
38:21You never know.
38:22Yes.
38:24So you can't tell by yodeling, can I?
38:26Oh, no.
38:27No.
38:28But then she was yodeling good.
38:29Yes, she was yodeling good.
38:31Yes.
38:31Yes.
38:31Okay.
38:32Good yodeling.
38:32Well, for you, Janice.
38:34Yes.
38:35Six points.
38:36Six points.
38:37Right.
38:38Okay.
38:39Five.
38:40And what about Dominic on the end then?
38:42Oh, Dominic?
38:43Oh.
38:43Dominic.
38:43Oh, yes.
38:45He had a smile at first.
38:47He what?
38:48The first smile.
38:49Oh, he smiled, yes.
38:50Yes, you have not seen?
38:51Oh, no, yeah, I did see his smile, yes.
38:53Oh, I have seen that.
38:53I was looking at his tonsils at the time.
38:55At first he smiled and then I think something must be here.
39:01You know what I mean?
39:02Well, it was true.
39:03The collar must be here.
39:04Did you see him bring anything in?
39:05The collar?
39:07Should there's something here?
39:08Yes.
39:08I don't want to be sick, do you?
39:09I mean, I feel fine, yes.
39:11You have not seen anything here.
39:13No, no, I didn't.
39:13Because you have always, look, go down, go down, go down.
39:17Oh, is he going down?
39:18Yes.
39:18Yes.
39:19Yes.
39:20Are we, um, yes, fine.
39:22It's all right, we'll go straight into the conveyor belt.
39:28Right.
39:28Yes.
39:29So, Dominic, what do you think about Dominic then?
39:31Yes, I give Dominic seven points.
39:37Well done, Dominic, and thank you, Wallace, for, you know,
39:40give our love to Switzerland and a Merry Christmas
39:43and thank you for coming back to see us.
39:44Merry Christmas also for you.
39:45Thank you, ma'am.
39:46Thank you for the chocolate.
39:47There we are.
39:48There we are.
39:49Okay, fine.
39:51Now then, what's on the board if it's still there, Miss Forbes?
39:55Well, Laura and Malcolm have scored 13.
39:57Janice and Dominic have also scored 13.
40:01All righty, good.
40:02Now, over you go.
40:03All over there, to your seats, where you were sitting before.
40:06Our next request game is called Smooching Statues.
40:11But first of all, feast your eyes on this.
40:17There you are.
40:19It is, of course, Rodan's The Kiss.
40:21It could be called The Snog.
40:24Or it could also be called I Only Came Here to Read The Meter.
40:27Okay, over you come.
40:31You two come with me.
40:32That's it, Malcolm.
40:33There we are.
40:34Stay here for a minute.
40:36Take the front.
40:39There we are.
40:39Now, here come all your bits and pieces, you see.
40:42There they all are.
40:43Those are yours.
40:44And these are your lot here.
40:46Now then, have a last look.
40:48Okay, cover it up, please.
40:50And get over there, if you will.
40:52Fine.
40:52Get over there so that you're all ready.
40:54Now, as you see, watch me for the moment.
40:57You see, all these pieces stick together.
40:59If you want that to go on there, you just stick it there and it stays there like that.
41:01But push it on quite firmly.
41:03But they do stay there once you push them on nice and firm.
41:07Okay, you're ready?
41:08Now, you've got about a minute and a half or two days to do this.
41:13Starting from now.
41:14Away you go.
41:15Now, you may think this is easy, but believe me, when you're close up to all these arms
41:39and legs and bodies, it isn't as easy as it looks.
41:43But we hope you're playing this at home.
41:47You've got about a minute left.
41:49So you're not doing too bad.
41:52Stick them somewhere.
41:54At least if you try and get...
41:56Be careful.
42:19Be careful.
42:20He was putting it on.
42:26He's right there.
42:27Right.
42:2715 seconds here.
42:35What did I tell you?
42:37Did I tell you?
42:38Right.
42:39Times, whatever.
42:41Hold on, hold on.
42:42Yes.
42:42No, you've still got a little bit of time.
42:44Stick things on.
42:45No matter where, stick them on somewhere.
42:47Right.
42:48Okay.
42:48We are up to the top.
42:51It's last time.
42:53Okay.
42:53Could we have that back?
42:54Thank you, Rosie.
42:55And would you two get just...
42:57Stay at the side.
42:58And let's have a look.
42:59Well, then.
43:01Well, the body, this body is a man's body.
43:05And it's nearly there.
43:07I think maybe one for the body.
43:09You get two if it was absolutely correct.
43:11And the leg is more or less...
43:13The leg is more or less there.
43:14So I think two for the leg.
43:16And this is the man's hand.
43:19It shouldn't be there.
43:22It definitely shouldn't be there.
43:23Should it go?
43:26Sorry, where was that?
43:27It was up here, was it?
43:29Yes.
43:29Yeah, fine.
43:30So you've got...
43:31You've got one for that leg.
43:34That is good.
43:34So you'll get two points for that.
43:36And this one...
43:37Practically in one leg.
43:37It was practically there, but it wasn't round.
43:39It should be round.
43:40So it should only be one for that one.
43:42The head is on.
43:45It's...
43:45Sorry.
43:46Excuse me.
43:47I think they're real.
43:48Right.
43:49The head is on here, all right.
43:51But the other head should have been up...
43:53So round here.
43:54So one for the first part of the head.
43:56Okay.
43:57This body is...
43:58Nice.
43:59Right.
44:01It is practically right, isn't it?
44:03Yeah, I think two for the body, yes.
44:05And did we give one for this leg?
44:06No, I don't think we...
44:07Or two for that leg.
44:09Two.
44:10Yes, that's pretty good, actually.
44:12And this arm here is on.
44:13Thank you for telling me that was good as well.
44:15So well done there.
44:16You did very well, actually.
44:18Very well indeed.
44:19I don't know what it all amounts to.
44:22Now, I don't know where we even start on this.
44:26I mean, she's slipping down here.
44:28She's nowhere near this, so we can't give it...
44:30But his body was all right.
44:31We'll give you that.
44:32And his arm's all right.
44:33So you get two points here, two points there.
44:35The other head should have been up.
44:36We'll give him one point for the head.
44:38I can't give you anything for his leg.
44:42That's...
44:42It's a leg.
44:44I don't know what time it's not quite.
44:46Is that a man's leg, or...?
44:48It's a man's leg.
44:48Well, you probably know more about it than I do.
44:50Is it a man's leg?
44:52No, I think that was wrong.
44:54No, I think that's the woman's leg, isn't it?
44:55Yeah, that's definitely right.
44:59That one has got to be right.
45:00But this one, I don't know where this goes.
45:01I think it is the woman's leg.
45:02I might take it home with me.
45:04No, you've got a woman's arm, you've got a woman's arm on there.
45:07That's definitely wrong.
45:08That's definitely wrong.
45:09I think this one should have been there, like...
45:12Oh, no, it's a foot.
45:14No.
45:15And I think that's all.
45:16But everything else, she sort of slipped off it.
45:18I'll tell with it.
45:19Right.
45:20But totally up.
45:21But wonderful game, really.
45:24Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
45:26It's still a move, isn't it?
45:29Very difficult to do.
45:31When you're close up to the thing, that's what makes it difficult.
45:34But what's on the board, Miss Ford?
45:35Well, Laura and Malcolm have scored 26.
45:3826.
45:39Janice and Dominic have scored 19.
45:41Oh, very nice.
45:43We are so little easy.
45:46But you do get a generation going to celebrate the both of you.
45:48And thank you very much for being here.
45:50And now, and thank you once again, if you just pop over there.
45:52Lovely, lovely.
45:53And let's remind ourselves of who you'll be playing in our grand final.
45:57Come over here.
45:58Oh, I say, I say, oh, I say.
46:06Right, have we got a grand final for you.
46:08Now, we've received so many requests for the dancing games.
46:12You know, yes, especially the merengue and this one, the lambada.
46:18Joy, it's a boy, who's a man that a day will kill you.
46:33Joy, it's a boy, who's a man that a day will kill you.
47:50And thank you, Lambarbara's.
47:52What a lovely Lambarbara's.
47:53That's all there is to it.
47:55And you look marvellous.
47:57You look marvellous.
47:58You really do.
47:59Right, head to tails.
48:00Heads.
48:01Heads, tails it is.
48:03Okay, so you've lost the toss.
48:05Do you want to go first?
48:06First?
48:07First?
48:08We'll go first, Barb.
48:09Come on, love, over here.
48:10Over you come.
48:11And, Dave, over there.
48:12Get yourselves ready.
48:13Get yourselves in position.
48:14And take these two to the nearest grotto.
48:16All right, fine.
48:17Here we have Lambarbara, take two.
48:21Here we go.
48:22Here we go.
48:23Here we go.
48:24Here we go.
48:47Here we go.
48:48Now turn it.
48:49I don't know.

49:50Go round him, turn round, turn round.
49:52Sit on my lap, sit on my lap, sit on my lap.
50:06Yeah, you could get to the final, wouldn't you?
50:18Oh. Sorry.
50:22It's all right, dear.
50:24Looks like a beach whale.
50:26Over there, dear. Wait over there.
50:28All right, darling, and save yourself.
50:30Give her a glass of water and rub down with something.
50:34All right.
50:36Are we ready for the other two? Are you there?
50:38Oh, good. Are you sure you want to do this?
50:40Fine, off you go. That's fine. Lovely.
50:42We're ready now for Lambada.

52:50Roz, in last year's Children in Need,
52:52so he does know
52:54a little bit about it.

53:23Yes, good fun.
53:24Well, you know, the lambada you did,
53:25the Children in Need,
53:26so what did you think of all of it?
53:27That's right, with my daughter Roz.
53:28That's right, with your daughter Roz.
53:29Well, she bought me this tie,
53:30especially to appear on the show.
53:31Well, it does look nice, yes.
53:32Thank you very much.
53:33I hope you get better.

53:39oh my goodness, all in the leather case.

53:54No, well, we saw what he was up to.
53:56See, Roz may be very worried.
53:57Anyway, I would say, if you want to score,
54:00I would say 17 out of 20.
54:0117 out of 20, very good.
54:03Hello, everyone over here.

54:33Very difficult.
54:34It's very close indeed.
54:35On balance, for entertainment value.
