In this Children in Need episode from November 30th 1990, Bruce Forsyth and Rosemary Ford are on hand to help the contestants. Among them are Pat & Adrian Lacey from the West Midlands, Ken & Vicky Robinson from Lancashire, Barry Robinson & Melody Holliman from Kent, and Patricia Murgatroyd & Roy Howes from York & Hampshire. The games for this 1st series finale since it's hiatus are "Easy As Pui" (involving Maori dancing), "Handle With Care" (Pot making), "Pull the Other One" (Cracker making), and "Vecenciador" (Spanish wine pouring) before finishing it off with a special finale for the end of the series for a Casanova spoof with a whole lot of scantily clad ladies and a special guest appearance by Russ Abbott to do the judging. There is much to enjoy here, so just sit back and wallow in the fun.

01:24I wouldn't put it past them
01:26I think they're trying to tell me something
01:27Still, they might change their mind
01:28I mean, it could be, you know
01:29It could be in 1993
01:30You know
01:31That's if The Great Escape is not available
01:32That film has been on so many times
01:33The last time I saw it, I was in it
01:34Anyway, here's the young lady who's made so many friends over the last three months

02:13Well, we never got a chance to do any tap dancing together
02:16Oh, I didn't know you could tap dance
02:18Yes, I make up a step every day
02:20And I give you a different name

02:51I call that fish and chips
02:52What?
02:53Fish and chips
02:54Fish and chips?
02:55Oh
02:56Well, have a look at this
02:58What's that?
02:59That's the salt and vinegar all over your fish and chips
03:11Hold on, what's all that for?
03:16Well, if that's the salt and vinegar, I thought you needed a good shake
03:29Oh
03:30Well, nice
03:31Anyway, introduce the first, it was the last show, so build it up
03:33Right

03:39Give that smile, give it to him
03:40Give it to him
03:41Our first team
03:42Go on, go for it
03:43Our first team's from the West Midlands, their mother and son, Pat and Adrian Lacey
03:49Oh, lovely
03:50Thank you
03:51And you're right for the side, how are you?
03:55Thank you
03:56Lovely to have you here
03:57And you're right for the side, how are you?
03:58Lovely to have you here
04:00Lovely to have you here
04:01Now, you're, er, you assist on the farm, is that right?
04:04Yes
04:05As a farm assist
04:06Oh, sorry
04:07She's a farm assist
04:10She'd have to go that typist, sorry about that
04:13You're a farm assist
04:14Yes
04:15And you must have some unusual customers
04:17Keep coming in with all different kinds of things
04:19Oh, definitely
04:20Yes, yes
04:21Somebody came in with, erm, a six-foot boar constrictor
04:24No, this big snake
04:25Yes
04:26No
04:27Who was pregnant, but constipated
04:28Oh
04:29How awful
04:30Yes
04:31So what did you prescribe for that?
04:32Liquid paraffin
04:33Yes
04:34Yes
04:35Or send for diner rod
04:36Yes
04:39You know, many years ago, you were a hospital pharmacist and someone broke a bottle of phenol
04:44Yes
04:45That's, er, carbolic acid, isn't it?
04:46That's right, yes
04:47Acoustic
04:48It is
04:49Yes
04:50And the, er, the chief pharmacist, it spilled all over him and he leapt up and threw his
04:54trousers off and jumped in the sink with the taps full on
04:57That's right
04:58Oh
04:59Gave me such a shock
05:00Yes, I bet
05:01And I was only 20 at the time
05:02Yes, I suppose you didn't know where to look for the best
05:03No
05:04Um
05:05You're...
05:06Don't be like that
05:07Please
05:08Right
05:09Right
05:10Er, Adrian, you're 22
05:11Yes, that's great
05:12Nice to meet you, Adrian
05:13Hello, David
05:14You're an environmental health officer
05:16That's right
05:17That's right
05:18That's right
05:19Because this is all to do with the ozone layer and the...
05:21That's part of it, yes
05:22And they say the aerosols are a lot to do with this
05:24They are
05:25Yes
05:26Don't look at me, don't blame me
05:27Well, I think they will
05:28Because when I use an aerosol, I always get in the wardrobe, close the door, go, shh, shh, shh, wherever, you know
05:33And then, you know, not only, er, but don't forget everybody, the slogan is, lock yourselves away before you spray
05:48Now, you have a girlfriend, Amanda
05:50Yes
05:51Well, give her our love, and you met her at a brass band competition
05:53That was here in London, yes, Bruce
05:55You play an instrument, what do you play?
05:56Yes, the cornet to the...
05:57The cornet?
05:58Now, tell me, when you kissed Amanda for the first time, when you kissed her, er, did you put your fingers on her head like this?
06:07Anyway, when you kissed her, did you, was it, er, how long was the kiss? Was it four bars, eight bars, or did you go for a full chorus?
06:13Well, it was a deep breath
06:14Oh, deep breath
06:15Yes
06:16And then four bars rest, and then, one more time!
06:20Fill your cornet up
06:21Anyway, Adrian, thank you for being with us
06:23Thank you, Bruce
06:24You look lovely people, can't wait to get you at a game
06:26Off you go over there
06:27And five, lovely people
06:29Lovely people
06:30And who have we got now?
06:35Our second team's from Lancashire, their father and daughter, Ken and Vicky Robinson
06:41I see, okay
06:42Yeah
06:43Yeah
06:44Hello
06:45Hello
06:46Hello

06:48You're right there
06:49Ken and Vicky
06:50Okay, Vicky, you're 19 and your boyfriend is Mark and he's 19, he's a student at the Manchester Poly
06:56Yeah, that's right
06:57Okay, and last year while in Mallorca, you won a Miss Tobago contest, what did you have to do for that?
07:02Well, there was one thing, I had to run around kissing all the men in 30 seconds, see how many I could kiss
07:07Oh, you say, that's like a good game for us, Rosemary, you could do it, right
07:11And the second one was, I had to put two ping-pong balls down a man's trousers and cross them over at the top
07:16Oh
07:17That's a funny way to play table tennis
07:23Anyway, thank you for being here, Vicky, and over to you, Ken
07:27And Ken, you are, you're self-employed
07:29Yes
07:30So you work for anybody
07:31And married to Pat for 23 years
07:34Yes
07:35She was very short-sighted and needed thick glasses
07:37And for the first six weeks of dating, she didn't wear them, so she didn't know what you looked like
07:41When she put the glasses on, she was really amazed
07:44Oh, was she really?
07:45Yes, yes, a modest chap, aren't you?
07:49Right, now, you had, you spent your honeymoon in, er, in Blackpool
07:54And you fell asleep, oh, you fell asleep on the train to Blackpool and you nearly ended up in Scotland
07:58Yes
07:59Yeah, well, she wouldn't have known the difference, would she?

10:32But will you come back and do some marking?
10:34Certainly.
10:34Good.
10:34We're going to take you two out, and we're going to put all the others in, actually.

12:44Sam and Carla, there we are.
12:46Well, that was fun. That was really fun.
12:49They really threw themselves into it.
12:50But first of all, Carla, what about the lady here on our right?
12:53Oh, I think she was really good.
12:54Really good. She really had a go.
12:55I haven't had such a good laugh in a long time.
12:58So what do you think?
12:59Um, six out of ten.
13:00Six out of ten. Well done, Pat.
13:02And how about over here for Vicky?
13:03I think she was just a bit better than the other lady
13:05because she's got her poise going the right way.
13:06A little bit. She's got the poise going the right way.
13:08And so seven.
13:09Seven. Okay. Well done, Vicky.
13:10Okay. Now, over here for Adrian, what about the tongue?
13:14Come on.
13:15Team Muthick's going to judge you.
13:16Oh, sorry.
13:18Sorry, I forgot you were here.
13:21I thought it was Rosie.
13:25Sorry, Ralph.
13:26Okay, what about Pat?
13:28Oh, both these guys are very fierce.
13:29They can come and join our hooker club any day.
13:31Yep.
13:31But, um, I'll give this guy on this side eight.
13:34Eight?
13:35Eight on this side.
13:36Well done. What about over here now?
13:37And it was very close.
13:39Eight to this side as well, Bruce.
13:40Yes?
13:40You think eight as well?
13:42Okay, well, thank you very much.
13:44Once more, the London Marriott Club, Tim and Carla.
13:48Come forward, my guys.
13:50Very well done, all of you.
13:52What a good start.
13:53Well, what's on the board, Miss Ford?
13:56Well, Pat and Adrian have scored 14.
13:59Vicky and Ken have scored 15.
14:0115, so only one in it.
14:03Well done.
14:04Well done.
14:04If you'll just go, don't give it to me.
14:06Over there you go, if you will.
14:09Our second game is called Handle With Care.
14:12I know you're going to enjoy the artistic skills of Kevin Millward.
14:17There we are.
14:17Right, Kevin, go.
14:23And, of course, you have your own company now.
14:25What is it?
14:25That's correct.
14:26Allemand Ceramics.
14:27Yes, and this is at the museum?
14:28Gladstone Pottery Museum.
14:29Yeah, lovely, which they do all.
14:31I mean, if you want a day out to go there, you can see everything.
14:33Everything.
14:34Everything to do with pottery in every way, shape or form.
14:36Thank you so much.
14:37In we go.
14:38In we go.
14:38Come right in, Ken, as well.
14:40Don't miss anything here.
14:41Right.
14:41The first thing we have to do is pull a basic sausage shape
14:46to form the handle.
14:48Yes.
14:50That didn't take long.
14:53Yes, there we are.
14:54Select the amount of clay you require.
14:56The amount you are.
14:56Just wet the edge a little bit.
14:58Lovely.
14:58We then take the lump of clay and we join this to the rim.
15:01Finger underneath to join the underside.
15:03We can then pick the pot up.
15:05A little bit of water.
15:07We can now actually shape the handle.
15:11Begin to draw it.
15:13That's it.
15:14Shaping.
15:14And this is the old pulling a handle, by the way.
15:17That's correct.
15:18Pulling a handle.
15:18That's the name of it.
15:19It's called pulling a handle.
15:21Right.
15:21Make out of it what you may.
15:22Right.
15:23Using then the thumbnail to put some pattern.
15:26A bit of titivation.
15:28That's correct.
15:30We can then let the handle hang.
15:31Bend the arm there.
15:33Oh, that is good.
15:34Down to the belly.
15:35Oh, that's why they say a pot belly.
15:36That's correct.
15:36Yes.
15:37See, pot belly, belly, pot.
15:39These finishing touches are really...
15:42And then using the thumbnail just to finish off.
15:44Just with the thumbnail round there.
15:46Another decorative finish there on the bottom.
15:49That is really, really lovely.
15:51Let me show everybody at home.
15:55Okay.
15:56Marvel.
15:56Kevin, I'm not going to shake your hand.
15:58But will you come back and do some marking?
16:00Thank you, Kevin.
16:01Right.
16:01Get to your pots and make sure you've got all the stuff there.
16:04Don't forget, try and get the right amount of clay.
16:07Okay.
16:07We have about a minute and a half starting from now.
16:12We want you to do as much as you can.
16:23Pull away, pull away.
16:31Have you ever done anything like this before?
16:34Oh, for goodness sake.
16:39I'm going to have a rest.
16:49How are we doing?
16:50Oh, yes, you've got it on.
16:51That's marvellous.
16:52Still pulling away here.
16:54Great concentration going on.
16:57That's it.
16:59Stick it on there somehow, darling.
17:01That's it.
17:01And how are you doing, Ken?
17:02Terrible.
17:06So it's finishing touches now.
17:09Hurry, hurry.
17:10Hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry.
17:12Okay.
17:14All right, time's up.
17:15What are you up to?
17:16Leave you upon your own.
17:17Marvel.
17:18Kevin, come back here.
17:21Okay, just for the moment.
17:22Okay, and if you'll just get in here and we'll have a look at this.
17:27Not a bad...
17:28Not a bad look.
17:29Don't laugh.
17:31Not too bad.
17:32At least you can get your hand through.
17:33You can get your hand on there.
17:35She's made a few of the nail lines.
17:36If you wanted to.
17:37Yes.
17:37Down the back of that hook.
17:37She's starting to do a bit of the decoration.
17:39Thumbnail mark on the bottom.
17:40And the thumbnail, yes?
17:41I think maybe five for that one.
17:43Five.
17:43Not bad at all.
17:44Well done indeed, my darling.
17:46Now, this looks good.
17:48He's not only a good Lowry dancer.
17:50Look at that.
17:51Oh, yes.
17:51I mean, that is actually...
17:53Not bad at all.
17:54Quite marvellous.
17:55Yes.
17:55For a first attempt.
17:57I think that's a good eight, that one.
17:58A good eight, yes.
17:59Worth it out.
18:00Worth it out, dear.
18:02Okay, and you've got your pinners off.
18:03That's lovely.
18:04Now, let's see how we get on here.
18:06She got in a bit of a state.
18:07Oh, yes.
18:10You could get about two fingers through there, probably.
18:13And if your jug wasn't too full, you could actually lift it.
18:16Possibly.
18:17Couldn't you, yes?
18:18I think five for that one.
18:19Just five for this one.
18:20Okay, five for this one.
18:22Now then.
18:24This one's a bit...
18:26You'd get two hands through there, couldn't you?
18:30You know what I mean?
18:31Again, he's remembered the nail marks down the back of the handle.
18:34Yeah.
18:35And the joint.
18:35But you can't get your hand through.
18:36No, you can't get your hand through very well.
18:38I think maybe a five for that one.
18:39Another five for that one, yes.
18:40I mean, you've got all...
18:42Kevin, thank you so much.
18:44It's a wonderful thing to watch, and you've been so nice to bring it to us.
18:47Good luck with the museum and your company.
18:49There we are.
18:49Come back here.
18:51Good mess again.
18:52Good mess again.
18:53Now then.
18:56Now, what's on the board, Miss Ford?
18:59Well, Pat and Adrian have scored 27.
19:0227.
19:02Vicky and Ken have scored 25.
19:0425.
19:05Oh, so we lose you.
19:07But well done, you two.
19:09We do have a Generation Game telephone for each of you,
19:11and we'll see you in our grand final, which is coming up very soon.
19:15Off you all go over there.
19:16There we are.
19:17Very nice.
19:18Come on.
19:19Nice thing.
19:19And our team three are?
19:26Our third team are from Kent, their father and daughter, Barry Robinson and Melody Holliman.
19:32I see.
19:40Right there, and you right there.
19:42Good fun.
19:43Now, Melody, you're a housewife.
19:44Yes.
19:45You have two children, and you're married to Tony for 10 years.
19:47That's right.
19:48You met him at a swimming pool when you were only 15.
19:50Yeah.
19:50I see.
19:51Now, you were engaged at 17, and three years later, you got married.
19:54So, this is very...
19:55You met him at 15, engaged at 17.
19:57Could we have some music, please?
19:59Some music.
20:01That's lovely.
20:03Met at 15, engaged at 17, married three years later.
20:07But, as he was on apprentice wages, there's no honeymoon, and you saved like mad for a little
20:14two-bedroom terraced house.
20:17So, in your own words, more music.
20:20Swell it.
20:20Swell it.
20:22Now, take it down again.
20:23Take it down.
20:24And, on the wedding night, you went to your little house and wait for it.
20:28What do you mean, wait for it?
20:29You were both there, weren't you?
20:31Well, what's all this about?
20:32Well, tell us what happened.
20:33Tell us what happened.
20:34Well...
20:34Music down just a bit.
20:35We had...
20:37Hot chocolate.
20:42Stop the music!
20:44Stop the music!
20:47Come on!
20:47Now, what?
20:48You had...
20:49I mean, hot cocoa in bed.
20:51Is that what you had?
20:51Well, it's seen the right thing to do at the time.
20:54We were very young.
20:54Well, it doesn't seem very good now, does it?
20:57Didn't even have a digestive.
21:00Anyway, give him our love, Tony.
21:01And over to you, Barry.
21:02Okay, now, Barry Robinson.
21:04I love your barley water, by the way.
21:05Um, you're...
21:07You're an electronics engineer.
21:10You're married to Heather, who's 31 years.
21:12Yes, 31 years.
21:1331 years, you've been married to her.
21:14Good.
21:15Lucky Heather.
21:15And, um...
21:17It's all right, it's only a little joke.
21:21Evidently.
21:24Right, and you're a big fan of Willie Nelson.
21:26I am a big fan.
21:26Now, I'm not a country and western.
21:28He's not my favourite kind of music.
21:30He's the guy with the...
21:31Where's the headscarf, isn't he?
21:32Where's the headband, yes.
21:32Well, hasn't he got a neck?
21:33No.
21:34He's keeping his beard on.
21:35Oh, I keep his beard on.
21:37And he doesn't even want to go...
21:38You were always on my mind.
21:40That's right, something like that.
21:41Well, do it with me, because you wanted to sing it.
21:43Go on, go on.
21:44You were always on my mind.
21:46You were always on my mind.
21:49Then he goes again.
21:50You were always on my mind.
21:52You were always on my mind.
21:55Do buy our next album.
22:09Oh, yes, yes.
22:11Don't buy the first one.
22:12It'll be...
22:12Anyway, thank you very much, Barry, for being here.
22:16And, Milly, you look lovely people.
22:18We can't wait to play a game with you.
22:19Away you go, over there.
22:20Now, then, have we got a fourth team?
22:27We have.
22:28Oh, we'll have to carry on with the show, then.
22:30And they're from York and Hampshire,
22:32their mother and son,
22:33Patricia Murgatroyd and Roy Howes.
22:36Oh, right, sorry.
22:37You've got a good one, guys.
22:39Yes!
22:44I mean, right in there, if you will, Roy.
22:47That's good.
22:47Now, then, Patricia.
22:48Patricia Murgatroyd.
22:49Yes.
22:50I see.
22:50You are a retired district nurse.
22:53I am.
22:53Yes, good.
22:53Any children of your own?
22:55A few.
22:56How many?
22:57Seven.
22:58Seven?
22:59And two stepchildren.
23:00Oh, blimey, no wonder you're retired.
23:02Any grandchildren at all?
23:04Eighteen.
23:05Eighteen grandchildren?
23:06We didn't have a teller, you see.
23:08You didn't have a teller?
23:12I see.
23:12Any great-grandchildren?
23:14One and a bit.
23:15One and one on the way.
23:17Oh, my God.
23:17Would you like a lie down, dear?
23:18It's not like two line-up.
23:20Two line-up?
23:20No, that's what started it.
23:22Oh, God.
23:30That's lovely.
23:33She's answering back.
23:34Right.
23:35Now, then, you're now running a hedgehog haven.
23:39Yes, they look after sick and injured hedgehogs.
23:41Oh, do you?
23:42The little tiny babies that have lost their mummies.
23:44Oh, my goodness, that's lovely.
23:45That really is wonderful.
23:47I mean, they really are lovely little things.
23:49Oh, they are.
23:49And the trouble is, somebody told me the other day, that when they're in the road, you know,
23:52that when they get on the road, they tend to stay there.
23:55They're not like other animals that nip off the road.
23:57That's right.
23:58They roll up.
23:59They roll up and they stay there.
24:01And this is why it's so dangerous.
24:02Yes.
24:02So, if you do see a hedgehog on the road, be careful of it, because they're lovely little
24:05things.
24:06Yeah.
24:06And they do a lot of good for the gardens.
24:08They do?
24:08What do they do, then?
24:09Yeah, feed all the sun.
24:09Oh, they rake it up.
24:13Keep rolling over and they rake up the garden.
24:18I'll go somewhere else, if you like.
24:20Over now to you, Roy.
24:22You're in the RAF.
24:23Correct.
24:23And 12 and a half years you've been in there.
24:25And you're a corporal.
24:26I am in there.
24:26Yeah.
24:27I was one of those.
24:28Well, not one of those, but I mean, I was one of those.
24:33Can't say anything tonight.
24:34You see, when I don't want to laugh, I get one.
24:37Right, you're married to Rodina.
24:39Yeah.
24:39It's not Rowena, it's Rodina.
24:40Very different.
24:42You proposed at her house in the conservatory.
24:45Yeah.
24:45Oh, gosh.
24:46How lovely.
24:47Very poche.
24:47I hope you wore your blazer.
24:49Yes.
24:50I bet it was the greenhouse.
24:51You led her up the garden path.
24:58Anyway, Roy, thank you for being here.
25:00And, Patricia, you and your headshots, thank you very much.
25:03You look lovely people.
25:04We've got a game coming up.
25:05There we are.
25:05Lovely people.
25:08Now then.
25:12The third game is called Pull the Other One.
25:14But first of all, feast your eyes on these lovely Christmas crackers.
25:18Look at they.
25:19Aren't they beautiful?
25:20And I know all you children are going to enjoy trying this.
25:23A seasonal game brought to us by Shirley Blaney.
25:27Here we go.
25:29Right, Shirley.
25:31Thank you for being here.
25:34Now, the best of these are made by hand, aren't they?
25:36Yes, yes.
25:36That's the only way to really do them.
25:38So come over here.
25:39Would you mind bringing your hands over here?
25:41All right.
25:41And they're going to bring their bodies over here, and their eyes especially,
25:44so they can have a real good look at this.
25:47Away you go, Shirley.
25:47Right, well, first of all, you've got your wrap.
25:50Then you put glue.
25:51Some glue.
25:52Yes.
25:53Just across the top.
25:55Then you want blank.
25:58Just a blank.
25:59A snap.
26:00Oh, the crack a bit, yes.
26:01Your motto and your hat.
26:03Your motto and your hat.
26:04Good.
26:05Then you get your rollers.
26:07Ah.
26:07Now, I suppose the children looking at home, they could do this with cardboard tubing, couldn't
26:12they, if it was strong enough?
26:12Yes, if that was quite nice.
26:13Yes, it could have been a cardboard tubing.
26:15That would be lovely.
26:16Right, you put your wrap round your rollers, like so.
26:19Make sure it's nice and sticky.
26:22Good.
26:23That's fine.
26:25And then you use your string.
26:26Get the string there.
26:27Put it round twice.
26:29Oh.
26:29And pull.
26:30And you pull it in there.
26:31And that's it, is it?
26:33Yes.
26:33And then you scrunch your filling.
26:35Scrunch up your filling.
26:37Make sure it goes down.
26:38Make sure it goes into the middle there.
26:39And then you turn your next...
26:40And another one there.
26:42Oh, yes.
26:43Like so.
26:43Good.
26:45That's your cracker.
26:46Yep, that's the cracker.
26:46And then from there...
26:48That's a cracker.
26:49That's a cracker.
26:50It's the way she pulls them.
26:52You want your wire on your finger.
26:54Your wire.
26:55And that's your net.
26:57That's right.
26:57And you're halving it and frilling it up.
27:00And you pull it through it and frilling it up.
27:02Now, children, don't use mum's neck curtains for this.
27:06Okay?
27:07And snip it off.
27:08Once you twist it around and then you cut it fairly close.
27:11Snip it off there.
27:11Bend it so you don't get your fingers closed.
27:13Lovely.
27:14Yeah, wash it up.
27:15Yeah.
27:16Put it into your tie.
27:22That's it.
27:23Lovely.
27:24And you snip it off there.
27:25And then you put your decoration...
27:27That's your decoration.
27:28Your finishing bit.
27:29And there you have a beautiful Christmas cracker.
27:32There we are.
27:34And now you're going to have a lot of fun trying to make those.
27:37I really do.
27:38Will you come back and do some marking?
27:39Thank you, Shirley.
27:40Off you go there.
27:41Get to your tables over here.
27:42Make sure you've got everything.
27:44We've got about a minute and a half again, starting from now.
27:48Away you go.
27:52That's it.
27:53Just a bit of glue to start with.
27:55Very nice.
27:55A bit of spare cardboard there.
28:02Then goes your hat.
28:05And your motto.
28:07That's it.
28:08A little bit of a mistake.
28:10Already.
28:12Oh, you've got it the wrong way around, have you?
28:14What?
28:15Yeah.
28:15What?
28:15I wish you had a couple of edge holes.
28:21You could have stuck it together with those.
28:23You're up to the string bit here.
28:25Well done.
28:28What's the matter?
28:30It's stuck.
28:32You can't get it out.
28:34Well, I'll do it again.
28:36You're stuck.
28:36Oh, my darling.
28:40Okay.
28:41I'll do it a bit of net.
28:51Yes.
28:52Not long to go now.
28:54Oh, poor love.
28:56I'm just so sorry for poor Patricia.
28:58Okay.
28:59That's it.
29:00Ten seconds to go.
29:01We've got the countdown coming up now.
29:03So any finishing touches, try and do as much as you can.
29:06In as little time, I know, but we're going on.
29:09Here we are.
29:10Time's up.
29:11Wherever you're up to, stop.
29:13Now then.
29:14Come back, if you will.
29:17That's fine.
29:19Now, we'll start with Barry here.
29:21Here's his effort.
29:23He didn't get his filling in, and he didn't get his decoration on.
29:26But what do you think?
29:27I think five.
29:27Five for that.
29:28Five.
29:29Not too bad, Barry.
29:30Well done.
29:31Not too bad.
29:32Now, here, we did get the decoration on.
29:36It's a bit squashy and everything.
29:38She didn't get any of this on at all.
29:41But there again, what do you think?
29:42Not a bad effort?
29:43No, I think I would say five again, because at least she's got the filling in.
29:46At least you've got the filling in and the decoration.
29:48So five again.
29:49All right.
29:49Well done.
29:50Well done.
29:53Now, poor Patricia got in a terrible state.
29:56She really...
29:57And that's just falling out as well, dear.
30:01Pull it.
30:02Merry Christmas.
30:04There you are, my darling.
30:05It's up to you, Shirley.
30:06Try and be kind.
30:07Look, this thing's falling apart.
30:09It really is.
30:10What do you think?
30:10Yeah, four.
30:11Four.
30:12Four.
30:12Four.
30:12Four.
30:12Do you think it's worth four?
30:13Yes.
30:14Okay.
30:15Four.
30:15It's worth...
30:16Not just three.
30:16Well, four because you did try terribly hard.
30:19Oh, four because she tried hard.
30:21What can you do?
30:22Yeah.
30:22What can you do?
30:24Now, here, not a bad effort.
30:26It's quite good, isn't it?
30:27It's the best shape of them all.
30:29Yeah, yeah.
30:29It's a lovely shape.
30:29This one's longer than that one.
30:31But apart from that, it's not a bad effort.
30:33A nicer shape.
30:34Did he...
30:34Oh, look where his filling is.
30:36Filling's still in there, look.
30:41But for all that, what do you think?
30:43I think you should have six.
30:44Six.
30:44Just a little bit.
30:45Well, all right.
30:46Shirley, give my love to all of you.
30:48Thank you very much for the thought.
30:49Very lovely of you.
30:51Shirley Blaney, come on.
30:53Good Christmas game.
30:54Good Christmas game.
30:55Come along.
30:56Come along.
30:57That's good.
30:58Well done.
31:01What's on the ball, Miss Ford?
31:03Well, Melody and Barry have scored ten.
31:05Patricia and Roy have also scored ten.
31:07Ten.
31:08Oh.
31:10All even.
31:11All even.
31:12OK, if you'll just pop over there very, very quickly.
31:15Our fourth game is called Venenciador, or Dip and Tip.
31:20Let's welcome from sunny southern Spain,
31:23Senor Jose Morales.
31:25Hey.
31:32How are you?
31:33How are you?
31:34How are you?
31:34Muy bien, muy bien.
31:35Oh, et tu, et tu, et tu.
31:37Muy bien, muy bien.
31:37Andalucía, muy bien.
31:39Yeah, Andalucía, yes.
31:40Fine.
31:41Yeah, that's the end of that.
31:42Right, come over here.
31:44Jose, it's lovely to meet you.
31:46And this is a Venencia.
31:49Venencia, this?
31:50Venencia.
31:51Venencia.
31:51I see, fine.
31:52Now, there we have, we have, what is that?
31:55Five glasses?
31:55Six glasses.
31:57Six glasses.
31:58Empty sherry glasses.
32:00And here he goes.
32:01Good luck, Jose.
32:02How about that?
32:09That's uno.
32:16Dos.
32:16Therese, notice the style, all you people over there.
32:27Go for the style.
32:29Quatro.
32:29So, it's tip.
32:47The only place you get real sherry is Spain, and that is true.
32:50Okay.
32:50Okay?
32:51Wonderful.
32:53Fine.
32:55Will you come back and do some marketing for us?
32:57That's it.
32:58Thank you, Jose.
32:59Lovely.
33:00Now, we've done the toss-up.
33:01So, if you'll come over here, my darling Melody, and you stay here, Barry, with this one.
33:05And get your thing.
33:06Now, the style is important as well, but try and, and only, only four.
33:10Only four of them.
33:11Okay?
33:1245 seconds.
33:13We want as much as you can get in there.
33:14This is a kind of a race, but go for style as well, starting from now.
33:18Oh, you're doing quite well, Barry, and a good bit of style, too.
33:47Look at the pose.
33:48Well done.
33:50That's it.
33:54Hurry up.
33:54You've only got ten seconds to go.
33:56You can have one more good go one.
33:57God.
33:58Good go to the last one.
34:04Oh, charms up.
34:06Here you come over here.
34:07Now, then, while she was going for the style, only this one glass here.
34:12Look, just that one little glass.
34:14Tre punto.
34:15Tre, tre, tre.
34:16Just three out of ten.
34:17Tre, tre.
34:18Three out of ten.
34:18Well tried.
34:19Well tried.
34:20But look at this.
34:23Bueno.
34:24Bueno.
34:24Sei punto.
34:25Six punto.
34:26Good.
34:26Well done.
34:27Thank you very much, Jose.
34:29Over there you go.
34:31Come over here, if you will, Barry.
34:33Over here and stand over there, will you?
34:34That's lovely, lovely, lovely.
34:36Now, then, in you come over here, Patricia.
34:38Go for the style as well.
34:40But it is a bit of a race.
34:41We want you to get as much into the sherry glass as you can.
34:44You have 45 seconds.
34:45Go for style as well, starting from now.
34:48But get as much as you can in there.
34:53Go on, dear.
34:54Very good.
35:00Very good, Roy.
35:01Excellent.
35:02Oh!
35:08Thank you, Roy.
35:10How you doing, darling?
35:11Any good?
35:12Your hands are nice and wet.
35:15Can I suck your fingers later?
35:16Oh, very good.
35:20Very good, Roy.
35:22Come on, Patricia.
35:22Hurry, hurry.
35:24How long have we got?
35:25Five seconds left.
35:27Come on.
35:28That's not good.
35:30Good day of it.
35:31Oh, time's up.
35:32We're going to have two times up.
35:33Come back here.
35:35Gavin.
35:36What do you think of Patricia here?
35:39A la señora le vamos a poner un par de puntitos.
35:41Dos puntos.
35:42Dos, only two.
35:43Dos punto.
35:44No, there, but the style was good here.
35:46Cinco puntos.
35:47Cinco.
35:48Cinco.
35:49Five points.
35:50Okay, dos and four.
35:51Two and five.
35:52Okay.
35:53Thank you so much for coming to see us.
35:55Back to Sally Spain.
35:56Thank you very much.
35:58Come on back here.
36:00Come on.
36:01What about these people?
36:03That's it.
36:05Love it.
36:06Well done.
36:08What's on the ball, Miss Ford?
36:10Well, Melody and Barry have scored 19 points.

36:17Oh, we lose you, my darling.
36:19We're sorry to lose you.
36:21We'll dry you off in a minute.
36:22But we do have a Generation Game telephone for both of you.
36:25Thank you very much for being part of the show.
36:27And let's remind ourselves of who you'll be meeting in our grand final.
36:31Come over here.
36:33Five.
36:34Yes, now then.
36:38What a grand final we have for you.
36:41Now, this week we're doing a play, as it's our last show.
36:44And we're doing Casanova.
36:46Oh.
36:47So, gentlemen, you are going to be Casanova.
36:51Okay.
36:51And, ladies, you are going to be Francesca the Countessa.
36:55A wonderful part for you.
36:56So, Melody, heads or tails?
36:58Heads.
36:59Heads.
37:00Tails it is.
37:02Okay.
37:02So, you've lost the toss.
37:03Do you want to go first or second?
37:06What's that?
37:06Second.
37:07You'd rather go second.
37:08Okay.
37:08Will you take these two to an air-conditioned sauna bath?
37:13Over there.
37:13And you two go straight across there and we'll get you all dressed up.
37:16Okay.
37:17As quick as we can.
37:18Away you go.
37:19Casanova, take one.
37:21I am Bruno, man-servant to Casanova.
37:32Oh, he's at it again.
37:33He's at it again.
37:36Oh, he looks good, doesn't he?
37:38Go on.
37:39Get out.
37:39Go on, Cazza.
37:40Go on, Cazza.
37:41Over you go.
37:42Come on over the stick, sir.
37:43That's it.
37:44Good boy.
37:45Good boy.
37:45That's it.
37:46Lovely.
37:46Sit down here.
37:47Fine.
37:47Good.
37:48Casanova, I've told you my lips are meant for another.
37:51Well, give her another.
37:52Give her another.
37:54Go on.
37:54Okay.
37:55Okay.
37:55All right.
37:55All right.
37:56Oh, dear.
37:56You've got lies to do as well, you know.
37:59Go on, my little angel.
38:00My little angel, prepare for yourself for a night of unbelievable passion.
38:05A Latin leg over.
38:07What?
38:09A Latin legend?
38:13Stop making up your own squits.
38:15A Latin leg over.
38:17Get up to him.
38:17Be careful of him.
38:19Right.
38:19Assist with your advances.
38:21Now, listen, Cazza.
38:22Don't give up on her so easy.
38:24Remember, you're the king of the Neapolitan nookie.
38:27Kiss her on the cheek.
38:30Love her.
38:30Oh, I can't resist you any longer.
38:34I'm yours.
38:37Oh.
38:38Oh, I'll get it.
38:39I'll get it.
38:39Don't worry.
38:40Don't worry.
38:41I'll get it.
38:41Right.
38:52Read the card.
38:53Lady Miranda is here.
38:55Lady Miranda?
38:56For heaven's sake, we'll have to get rid of this one.
38:58They're coming in here.
38:59Just over here.
39:01There we are.
39:03Just hang about.
39:05Okay?
39:06Hang about.
39:07Right.
39:07Over here.
39:08Over here, sire.
39:09Turn around.
39:10And raise your arms.
39:11Raise your arms.
39:12Psh, psh, psh.
39:13Now, read the next line.
39:14It's on here.
39:15Show Lady Miranda into...
39:18Boudoir?
39:19My boudoir.
39:25Show Lady Miranda into my boudoir.
39:29Boudoir.
39:29It's a posh name for bedroom, for goodness sake.
39:32Okay, hold on.
39:33Here we are.
39:34I think she's here.
39:35Oh, yes.
39:36Oh, my dear Casanova, I've read so much about you in the Sunday Partiments.
39:40I only hope you can live up to your reputation.
39:44Right, now, read the next line.
39:45It's on her arm.
39:46It's on her arm, here.
39:47You offer the great Casanova a hand kiss.
39:50I want your love.
39:52Yes, sir.
39:53I want your heart.
39:56I want your lips.
39:57Oh.
39:58Do you want any fries with that?
39:59Come on, my dear Casanova, go on, read the lines.
40:05Read the lines.
40:06Sorry.
40:08My dear Miranda, before we start our evening of passion, may I suggest a dizzy...
40:18What's that?
40:20It's an afrodisiac.
40:21What's a dizzyac?
40:22I think you're a bit dizzy.
40:24I don't know about the afrodisiac.
40:25Come on.
40:26Casanova, stop wasting time.
40:27You know why I'm here.
40:29Yes.
40:30Oh!
40:31Here.
40:32Oh, enough of the talk.
40:34Who is it?
40:35Who is it?
40:36It is Francesca.
40:38Oh, Francesca.
40:39Oh, what, another one?
40:41Your line's on the pillar.
40:42Your line's on the pillar.
40:44No, not this pillar.
40:45That pillar.
40:46That bit.
40:47Right, go on.
40:48Let her in and keep her talking while I meander to the veranda with Miranda.
40:52Oh, right.
40:52Off you go, then.
40:53Here she goes.
40:54Okay, off on the veranda.
40:55Yes, fine.
40:57Dear, oh, dear.
40:58Right.
40:58Come in, my senorina.
41:00Come in.
41:01Very nice.
41:03There you are.
41:03Your line's on the fan, dear.
41:04Okay.
41:05I've just rised off of Sicily and the swims nearly killed me.
41:11Oh, dear.
41:15Very good.
41:17Where is Casanova?
41:19He's not here.
41:21Who have you got under there?
41:22Rory Corbett and Dudley.
41:25Casanova is not here, senorina.
41:27Go on, I'm glad.
41:28I'm glad Casanova's not here because I think he's just an ex-maniac.
41:35What?
41:37Sex-maniac.
41:38It's truth.
41:39Anyway, go on.
41:40Go on, Bruno.
41:41You know, it's you I want.
41:46Chase me, chase me, chase me.
41:48Chase me round to the bed.
41:49That's it.
41:51Now, come on, push me on the bed, dear.
41:53Push me.
41:53Don't worry about your dad.
41:56Hold on, dear.
41:57Just stop.
41:58Ben it.
42:00Turn the bed down first.
42:02Come on.
42:02I'm very neat.
42:03I'm a Pisces.
42:04That's it.
42:06Right, in you come.
42:15Read your next line.
42:16It's on the pillar.
42:18It should be on that one.
42:19No, it's on this one, dear.
42:21It's on this.
42:23There you are.
42:24Okay, help yourself.
42:25Go on.
42:26Oh, my darling, do not fail me.
42:29Do not disappoint me.
42:30Do not wash.
42:31Do not wash.
42:34Draculinoly.
42:36Draculinoly?
42:38You're reading the washing instructions.
42:41Come on.
42:41Bruno!
42:42Bruno!
42:42Oh, hurry up.
42:43If that's my master, quick, come over here.
42:47I'll be in terrible trouble.
42:49Just a bit here.
42:50Oh, yeah, fine.
42:51Oh, you, yeah.
42:51We'll get in there and you get out of the bed.
42:55Out of the bed.
42:56Okay?
42:57Okay.
42:58Oh, she's done that before.
42:59That was very quick.
42:59Oh, the coast is clear, sire.
43:04Oh, well done.
43:06Now, come on, read it properly this time.
43:08Maybe I'm Bruno.
43:09Bruno, I see you are alone.
43:10Oh, my God.
43:11But where is the woman I love?
43:13What?
43:20Hold it, hold it.
43:21Shut up.
43:23Do your mind.
43:23Right.
43:24Bruno, what are we going to do with this lot?
43:28Well, there's only one thing we can do, Kazza.
43:32Strolling player.
43:34He just strolled on.
43:37As you can see, there's loads of spell.
43:42But as they love us, so they know
43:47That we will have to show.
43:50Thank you so much.
44:15Thank you, sir.
44:16That was a wonderful attempt, I'll tell you that.
44:18Absolutely lovely.
44:20Any moment now for Katanova, take two.
44:23I'm still Bruno, man-servant to Katanova.
44:34Oh, he's off again.
44:35Oh, Jen!
44:36Oh!
44:36Oh, look out.
44:44He's a bit...
44:44Over here, over here, over here!
44:46I love you!
44:48No, go to my...
44:49We'll tell you what to say.
44:51Sit on there.
44:52Oh, yeah.
44:54Kazza Nova, I'm not that kind of girl.
44:56Oh, yeah.
44:56You soon will be.
44:57She soon will be.
44:58You don't have to make up your own words.
45:00Okay, we've got a script for you.
45:02There you are, I'll read it.
45:02My little angel, prepare yourself for a night of sin
45:06and sidduch lune.
45:08Iron.
45:10What?
45:12Sidduch lune?
45:13What are you talking about?
45:14Prepare yourself for a night of sin and seduction.
45:18Sedact iron.
45:19You're a womaniser, not a welder.
45:22Desist with your advances.
45:25Now, don't give up easily on this one, Kazza Nova.
45:27Remember, you're the original Italian lira.
45:30Give her a lira.
45:31Go on.
45:32Go on.
45:33That's it.
45:33And give her a kiss on the cheek.
45:34That's it.
45:35That's lovely.
45:36Oh, I can't resist you any longer.
45:40I'm yours.

45:42Hold on.
45:46He was away there.
45:47I think...
45:48I'll get it.
45:49I think she's just coming to the boil.
45:50Hold on a minute.
45:52Be careful this time.
45:55Thank you, Hannibal.
45:56Right.
45:57Here we are.
45:58Read this.
46:00Lady Miranda is here.
46:01Oh.
46:02Well, we'll have to get rid of this one.
46:03You can't stay there, dear.
46:05He'll be with you in a minute.
46:06Okay, just pop in there just for a second.
46:08Just got to do some stock taking.
46:10Stand round.
46:10Here, lift up your arms.
46:13Lift up your arms.
46:14Stay where I put you.
46:15For goodness sake.
46:16Shh, shh, shh, shh.
46:18What are you opening your mouth for?
46:22The line's up there.
46:23Okay.
46:24It's about right.
46:25I'm confused.
46:26I'm on horns of a dull enema.
46:33I'm confused.
46:34I'm on the horns of a dull enema.
46:37A dilemma.
46:38A dilemma.
46:39Come on.
46:40Get out of here.
46:41Okay, now, I'll show her in.
46:44Just stay there.
46:45I'll show her in.
46:45Here she is.
46:47Oh, my dear Casanova, I've read so much about you in the exchange in Mart.
46:51I only hope you can live up to your reputation.
46:55You offer the great Casanova a hand.
46:58It's a bit small.
46:58Look, you're going the wrong way.
47:01Go this way.
47:01Okay.
47:02I want your love.
47:06I want your heart.
47:09I want your lips.
47:13Yes.
47:13I want you.
47:14You want it enough.
47:16Right.
47:17Go on.
47:17My dear Miranda.
47:18My dear Miranda.
47:20Would you leave something to eat?
47:23Lasagna.
47:25What?
47:27You like something to eat?
47:28Lasagna.
47:28Lasagna.
47:29It's Italian cottage pie, for goodness sake.
47:33Casanova, stop wasting time.
47:35You know why I'm here.
47:37Hooray!
47:38Okay.
47:39Oh, who is it?
47:40Who is it?
47:41Who is it?
47:43It is Francesca.
47:44Francesca, sire.
47:46Sire.
47:47Sire.
47:47Sire.
47:51Sire.
47:54Sire.
47:56I...
47:57I swear it's making him go deaf.
48:02Will you stop it with him, Rosie?
48:04Oh, sorry, Countess.
48:05Your line's on the pillar.
48:07Oh, sorry.
48:08Good boy.
48:09Go on.
48:09No, no.
48:09Let her in.
48:11And keep her talking while I meander to the veranda with Miranda.
48:15Oh, go blimey.
48:25Look at me.
48:31Ah, yes, senorina.
48:33Yes, senorina.
48:34Yes, read your line.
48:35It's on the fan.
48:36It's on the fan.
48:36Oh, Bruno, I have just come hot foot from Mount Vesuvius.
48:41And I'm all of a lather.
48:44Where's Casanova?
48:45He's not here, senorina.
48:47And what have you got under there?
48:48A bike?
48:49But he's not here, senorina.
48:51Good, good.
48:53Francesca.
48:53No, that's you, dear.
48:55Oh, good.
48:57Because it's you I want.
48:59And I promised I'll be like putty in your fingers.
49:06Putty in your hands, dear.
49:08OK, go on.
49:09It's it.
49:09Bruce.
49:10No, that's me, dear.
49:15Give us that.
49:16I need it more than you do.
49:18Right, grab me.
49:19You've got to grab me.
49:20That's what it says.
49:23Chase me, dear.
49:25Chase me around the bed.
49:26Chase me around the bed.
49:28OK, push me on the bed.

49:33Turn the bed down first.
49:35Turn the bed down first.
49:36That's it.
49:36In we go.
49:37Oh, ho.
49:38Yes.
49:38Let me get the other leg out of the rear.
49:42That's it, dear.
49:43The lines are on the pillow.
49:45On the pillow.
49:45On the pillow here.
49:49Oh, Bruno, you make my heart go boom-didi-boom-didi-boom-didi-boom-didi.
49:53Is that what it was?
49:58Do you mean I'm better than Casanova on the board there?
50:01Yes, Bruno.
50:03He's just a giggle.
50:05Oh!
50:06A giggle-o?
50:08Oh!
50:08You mean a giggle-o?
50:10God, Dennis.
50:11Dennis.
50:12Oh, goodness.
50:12Say it again.
50:13Bruno!
50:14Bruno!
50:14Oh, quick.
50:15It's my...
50:15Oh, my goodness.
50:16It's my boss.
50:17If it finds me in here, you're...
50:19Oh, I forgot.
50:19Sorry.
50:21Under the bed, dear.
50:22Under the bed.
50:22Get up.
50:25Come here.
50:26Never mind.
50:27You're posted to me.
50:29That's it.
50:30Under the bed.
50:31Here.
50:31OK.
50:32The coast is clear, sire.
50:34Oh.
50:36There we are.
50:37Here we are.
50:38Bruno!
50:40Where is the woman I live?
50:41I'm here!
50:43I'm here!
50:43Oh!
50:44Oh!
50:44Oh, quiet!
50:46OK.
50:47Do your next line.
50:49What are we going to do with this lot?
50:51Er, there's only one thing we can do.
50:53Strolling player.
50:54Give me a note.
50:56I'll mix a drink, a loving cup.
51:00You do the next line.
51:00And then get in, my son, and fill your boots.
51:05Right up.
51:07Fill your boots.
51:09I'll mix a drink, a loving cup.
51:09Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
51:39I'm sorry, darling. No, I'm so sorry. But come back, you two. What about all four of them? What about this?
51:51Okay, now, who better to judge this than one of our best-loved funny men ever? And I mean ever, Mr. Russ Abbott. Yes!
51:59Oh!
52:02Thank you, sir.
52:05Will you stop it? Will you leave me alone?
52:09Will you leave that woman alone, for goodness sake? I'm so sorry.
52:13What are you packing? What are you packing up, for goodness sake?
52:18What? What are you doing?
52:19A Casanova.
52:20I said, will you be the judge?
52:22You phoned me and you said you were looking for a Casanova and I was the ideal choice.
52:26No, I said it was a Casanova play and you're the judge, for goodness sake.
52:29I've been in training all week.
52:31Oh, yeah? What have you been doing?
52:33Vitamins.
52:33Vitamins?
52:34Press-ups with a friend of mine.
52:35Oh, really?
52:36Yes!
52:38I mean, it's very good.
52:41Anyway, Russ, we do thank you.
52:42And thank you for making that entrance and I'm sure the girls are very grateful as well.
52:46But, you know, what did you think first?
52:48Well, I mean, they were both excellent.
52:50Melody's accent when she came on was a superb, superb entrance.
52:52Barry was a fine Casanova, slightly sort of a limp-aristed at times.
52:55He was.
52:56That was all right.
52:57How about this?
52:57But certainly out of 20 points, I would think 17.
53:0117 out of 20, that's all.
53:03All right.
53:04Well done, Russ.
53:06And what about over here?
53:08Then again, you see, a brilliant accent.
53:10I mean, the French there was actually quite unique.
53:12Wonderful.
53:13It's marvelous.
53:13And he carried it right the way throughout.
53:14Yes.
53:14Great.
53:15And, of course, what can I say?
53:17You know, I mean...
53:18Unless that was a bad boy.
53:22Oh, no.
53:22The lady in blue.
53:23The lady in blue.
53:24I bet you felt a little potty in there, didn't you?
53:27There's only one point in it, though, I think, and that's 18.
53:2918!
53:30Oh, so I mean it.
53:32Well done.
53:33Bad luck, you two.
53:35But very close.
53:36It was very close.
53:37Yeah, then.
53:38Desi, before you go, good luck with your Palladium season.
53:42You're going in there on the 18th of December till the 2nd of March.
53:45That's right.
53:46We hope it's a bumper season for you.
53:47We're all going to come.
53:48And make sure you leave the dressing room tidy,
53:50because I'm coming in on the 4th.
53:52I will, of course.
53:52For a week with my one-man show, so be fair.
53:55Right.
53:55But we hope it's one of the best seasons you've ever had in your career.
53:58Russ Abbott, we thank you very much.
54:01Thank you very much.
54:01Good luck on the 18th.
