00:00Susan, very confused, very energetic, though, about her date with Jared.
00:06And they did something simple.
00:08They just went on a coffee date.
00:09She goes, I didn't want to put a lot of pressure on the date.
00:11And in case things went wrong, I wanted to be able to get out of it as soon as I could.
00:15So coffee date is what they did, and it went well.
00:18Now, she hasn't heard from him since.
00:21That's where we come in.
00:22Yeah.
00:22And we actually have Jared on the phone.
00:24So let's bring him back on.
00:26He's agreed to talk to us.
00:27Jared, you there?
00:29Yeah.
00:30So listen, understood that's a weird request to say, hey, let's talk about a date you went on on the radio.
00:35Get it?
00:36But I do want to see if that's okay with you if we ask you a couple questions about a woman named Susan.
00:42Yeah, it's a little strange, but yeah, happy to chat.
00:46All right, cool.
00:47Appreciate it.
00:47So you just heard us talking about you guys going on a coffee date.
00:51She really felt like you guys lined up in a lot of areas when it comes to dating.
00:55And she really thought she'd be seeing you again and going on a more formal date with you,
01:01but hasn't heard anything from you, and she's even reached out to you.
01:05So we want to know what's going on.
01:06Why the cold shoulder?
01:08Yeah, listen, she's very nice.
01:11I just don't think we line up on a lot of things.
01:16Really?
01:16Because she said you guys lined up on a lot of things.
01:19Really?
01:20Did she tell you her life plan?
01:24Is that what she told you?
01:26Yeah, what's her life plan?
01:28Yeah, she plans to quit her job and be a full-time artist.
01:33Like artists?
01:34What kind of artists are we talking about?
01:35Like a painter.
01:36Oh, okay.
01:38Gotcha.
01:38She showed you some of her paintings?
01:39She must be good.
01:41She did show me on her phone.
01:42She showed me some of her paintings.
01:43And, you know, I don't want to be mean here, but honestly, I don't know anything about art, but they were not very good.
01:51Well, you just said you don't know anything about art, so that's your opinion.
01:55Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?
01:58Sure, yeah.
01:59But when I looked at them, I just can't imagine anybody buying them.
02:04So her plan is to quit her job, become a full-time artist, and sell her paintings?
02:08That was what she told you?
02:10Yeah, that's what she told me.
02:11And, you know, that's cool.
02:12If that's what you want to do, if you want to follow your dreams sort of thing, but you've got to be able to support yourself.
02:18You don't think anybody's going to buy these paintings?
02:21No, I don't.
02:22I can't see anybody that doesn't know her trying to buy these paintings.
02:26Okay.
02:27And so what exactly is your problem with it?
02:29I mean, it doesn't really affect you, right?
02:32I'm just not really looking to get involved with someone who wants to just kind of like paint all day.
02:38Well, I mean, she did wonder why you were not getting back to her.
02:41I guess this explains it.
02:43We do have her on the phone with us, too.
02:45Jared, I want to let you know.
02:46Susan.
02:47Hi.
02:48Hi.
02:49So is that kind of what you were saying your plan is?
02:52You kind of want to quit your job, what you're doing now, and be a full-time artist?
02:56Well, here's the thing.
02:57I'm an entrepreneur, you know?
02:58So I wanted to start my own company, like an art company, where, you know, I paint and
03:04I sell my paintings, you know?
03:06I'm a little disappointed in hearing, Jared, that you don't like my paintings.
03:11I mean, I get tons of compliments all the time.
03:14So I don't see where there would be an issue of me, you know, making my paintings that are
03:21extremely valuable.
03:22Everyone loves it.
03:24I think it would be a great business.
03:26Who are you getting these compliments from?
03:30Who's telling you that the paintings are good?
03:33My friends and my family.
03:36Exactly.
03:37Exactly.
03:38Look, I'm not trying to be mean, but I don't think you'll be telling them.
03:42But why, I mean, I feel a little offended.
03:45I'm like over here trying to, you know, chase my dreams.
03:48I mean, I think my paintings are great.
03:50My friends think my paintings are great.
03:52They would never lie to me.
03:54And I just, I'm so disappointed that you would totally diss me off of trying to be an entrepreneur.
04:01Just a curiosity, Susan, have you sold any paintings before?
04:06No, I haven't.
04:07Okay.
04:08All right.
04:08Well, I guess I'll start somewhere.
04:10Yeah.
04:10How do you get to the point where somebody pays a lot of money for your paintings?
04:14How do you get there?
04:15Well, if it's valuable to them and they want it, I guess.
04:17I mean, I'm not a big art collector.
04:18It's worth money, yeah.
04:19But I know, I think it's great that she wants to do her own thing and follow her own dreams.
04:23I don't really see how, Jared, I mean, besides this, did you have a good time with her?
04:27I mean, wouldn't this be worth like maybe hanging out with her again and getting to know
04:30her a little bit more than just this?
04:32Listen, yeah, I mean, we had a good time.
04:34But, you know, for your sake, I hope that's the case.
04:37I hope you sell a lot of paintings.
04:40But I'm not looking to get involved with someone who's, you know, going to quit their job to paint.
04:46So it's a no-go for me.
04:49Well, Susan, I think it's great that you are going to say, hey, I'm going to bet on myself.
04:54I'm going to make this happen.
04:54I hope you are super talented, and I hope you, you know, make all the money in the world
05:00selling your paintings, and we appreciate you reaching out.
05:03It's just not going to be another date with Jared, okay?
05:06It's okay.
05:07I love you.
05:08I don't want to be with someone that doesn't, like, you know, you know, inspire me or motivate
05:12me or support me, for God's sake.
05:16There you go.
05:17All right.
05:18Thanks for coming on.
05:19Jared, thanks for your time.
05:20You guys have a great day.
05:22Yeah, you do.
05:22Okay, first of all, both of them sounded very boring, so I can only imagine what that
05:27date was like.
05:29I hate to be mean, but I'm just saying that.
05:31But if she's super talented and wants to do what she wants to do, then that's great.
05:34Yeah, she might be talented, and her paintings might be great, but you've got to be able
05:39to afford living off of just painting.
05:41If no one's going to buy these paintings, like he's saying, I mean, how does she think she's
05:45going to make a living?
05:46Maybe she has saved for this moment.
05:48Maybe she said, I've saved enough money to give myself six months to be able to chase
05:52this dream.
05:53Maybe that's what's happened.
05:54But he doesn't want to wait around to see if this dream's going to come true or not.
05:58Well, I mean...
05:59It's a risk.
05:59I'd like to lay around and paint all day, too.
06:02Can you pay?
06:02I've got to pay my electric bill.
06:04Hold on.
06:06All right.
06:07So, would this have been a deal breaker for you?
06:10Would you have been scared off if someone told you this on a date?
06:12We want to know.
