00:10We're talking to Megan today for Military Monday.
00:13We get to honor her husband, James.
00:14Good morning, Megan. How are you?
00:16Hi, I'm great.
00:17Well, tell us about James. Tell us how he serves our country.
00:20So my husband has been in the Marine Corps for almost 20 years, active duty.
00:26And he works in logistics. He loves what he does.
00:32Why do you think he loves it so much? What is it about being in the military?
00:36He's a very selfless person.
00:40And it's almost like he was born to be in the Marine Corps.
00:45It's really his life's work. He just loves it.
00:50Is he somebody that joined right out of high school?
00:52So he did. Yeah, he actually enlisted and he went to boot camp.
00:59I think he left like the day after his high school graduation.
01:03And then we actually met in college at the University of Wisconsin.

01:10Lana went there for about a week.
01:11I did not. I did two years.
01:13Sorry, go ahead.
01:14But so he was enlisted first and then he went the officer route.
01:20Yeah.
01:21And he's been deployed to the Middle East a few times, right?
01:24He has been a few times, yes.
01:26And also to Haiti.
01:29He went there.
01:30Our son was seven days old when he left to go to Haiti after the earthquake in 2010.
01:35Yeah.
01:35Oh my gosh.
01:36I can't even imagine being a mom at home, having a seven-day-old baby,
01:41and then your husband taking off.
01:42I mean, just what you go through yourself, I mean, having your husband gone
01:48and just having to raise the kids.
01:50And you've got three of them, right?
01:51We do, yes.
01:52Well, our hats are off to you as well because you do go through a lot.
