00:00Tampa Bay's Morning Crew want to honor and thank those who protect and serve our country.
00:05Time now for Military Monday on 99.5 QYK.
00:10It is Military Monday. We got Charity on the phone. Good morning, Charity. How are you?
00:14Good morning. How are you?
00:16We are doing great. So we get to honor your husband today for Military Monday. His name is Sean.
00:20Tell us how Sean served our country.
00:23Well, he spent 14 years in the National Guard.
00:27The first couple of years, he was a recruiter for the National Guard.
00:32So he was active Army. And then he spent about a year and a half overseas in, I think, 2013 in Afghanistan.
00:39Oh, wow. And were you guys married at the time?
00:41No. So I met him probably about a year and a half after he came home.
00:48Okay. I'm sure that was a good welcome home gift right there.
00:50Meet your future wife.
00:52Yeah. How'd you guys meet?
00:54Well, I actually was his boss.
00:56I hired him.
00:58Oh, wow.
00:59All right.
01:00Okay.
01:00And the plot thickens.
01:02Yeah. And the plot thickens. Yeah.
01:04So it was, I guess, his second civilian job, per se, when he came home.
01:09And I hired him.
01:11And after a year or two, he was no longer, like, underneath me, per se.
01:15And, yeah, we chose to pursue a relationship and ended up marrying.
01:20Wow.
01:21I love that.
01:21Did you hire him because he was cute and you were attracted to him?
01:24I mean, be honest.
01:26I mean, he was cute.
01:27Yeah.
01:28I love it.
01:29I love that.
01:30We're going to have an HR violation all of a sudden here.
01:33No.
01:33You know, Charity, when he gets, when you meet him and you learn about his service, because
01:38obviously it was before you guys were married, I mean, what are your reactions to some of
01:41maybe his stories or him talking about his service?
01:44Like, what is your kind of takeaway from all that?
01:46Yeah, so it was interesting to me, honestly, like, just to learn so much about it and what
01:54they go through and just the time away.
01:56And, like, my biggest takeaway from him has always been just the value of time.
02:00That's what he took away from his entire service is that, like, you know, time is not a for-sure
02:05thing and that time is, like, the most precious thing in life and just to, like, live it, live
02:11life to the fullest.
02:12Yeah.
02:12Great advice.
02:13You've got to be proud of him, too, obviously.
02:15Yeah, I'm super proud.
02:17I'm super proud that he can go and do and see and touch all the things he has and experience
02:22in his life and come out of it with just, like, such a positive outlook.
02:26And he's just this guy that can walk in a room and change the whole aura because he just
02:30has this joy about him and just, he's a really good guy.
02:34That's fantastic.
02:35I can see why you're honoring him today.
02:37Yes.
02:38Well, here, listen, we are so thankful for Sean's service and we're thankful for you reaching
02:41out to us and letting us know about Sean.
02:43Oh, we want to do this.
02:44We want to give you a $100 Visa gift card from our friends at Stingray Chevrolet.
02:47This is a small way for us to say thank you to you and thank you to Sean for all that
02:51he has done for our country.
02:53And we're so appreciative.
02:54Awesome.
02:55That's so awesome.
02:56We really appreciate it.
02:57And I'm sure he will, too.
02:58Well, Charity, thank you so much.
02:59You're very welcome.
03:01Love hearing those stories.
