07:16So that brings kind of a challenge.
07:21All right, so the first step, what I decided to do is I'm gonna use the power hammer right

07:28So I'll just put a little bit of a stretch on this with these stretch dies here.
07:34Get the other side, and I can flip it over and decide what I'm gonna do for this other
07:39radius.
07:40So that'll be the side right there.

11:43cars are sitting around getting neglected so I figured it's time to let
11:46it go to a new home we need to clean it I want to detail it
11:53steel wool the chrome up put that fuel pump on and put a batter in there and
11:58see what we got and then maybe somebody will take it home yeah there's gonna be
12:02a lot of people want that well yeah they just got to come up some green

12:21I think another inch and a half blend that down yeah take that back let me on around
12:27there take that back next thing I want to move on to is the tank stretch and I'm
12:32gonna feather this in so yeah yeah yeah hell yeah Mike the tanks gonna kind of
12:38flow into the seat I'll start to cut some of these out we'll mock it back up
12:43gets a tank stretch more thanks stretch thanks great man it's been a long time
12:47Mike we got to grind some of this bodywork back a little bit back in the day we
12:50built our own tank I know from scratch and here we are just what what happened
12:55Mike I don't try to salvage as much as we can do we need to do we need to be uh

13:08aftermarket tank I was a worried about the extra fuel in there took a woof of that

13:18huh smell like an old gas that's just me that's wishful sniffing on my part Mike yeah you're
13:27sniffing it's a thing man should we run a little water in that thing yeah I don't want to die today
13:32I don't want to die today I'm always nervous to weld on gas tanks regardless but new or used it
13:38doesn't matter but am I still nervous yeah I'm still a little nervous you know what I mean because
13:43gas has a tendency to hang around so but we've rinsed it out and flushed it out hopefully we'll
13:48survive the day where those wires go to Joe because I just take warning do not remove let me finish it
13:59cannot be liable for explosion or danger I do not I guarantee I'll weld a plate over that there you go
14:10no problem no problem kind of been making some rough templates here uh for this tank stretch we've
14:20made some marks here where we ground the bodywork Mike's gonna take it out back take a little more
14:23off where we have clean you know a clean slate to well weld to and then uh make our final templates
14:29and start pan forming it so if we two pieces make it two pieces we gotta roll the thing Mike so this
14:37will be kind of the right side of the tank I guess then I'll make another one come back metal finish
14:41everything look like one complete stretch when we're done hey man you got that fresh feeling kick I got
14:46that fresh feeling man basically what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna bring the sheet metal into the foam of
14:51the seat kind of make it look like the seats frenched into it come on man come on
14:57get a lot of artwork on there really yep cut loose a little cut loose Joe don't hold nothing back
15:08well you got the chrome looking good yeah shine it up a little bit oh yeah boy that's it came out
15:20pretty good we want to get the battery in the car and just see if the car will turn over start that
15:26up I haven't tried to start well it looks like you guys are getting fired up I'm just about sure it's
15:32not gonna start but I've seen crazier things happen and then from there we can determine if it needs a
15:37fuel pump most likely it does I'm sure it's carbs a little gummed up but if we get it to turn over
15:42and fire up that'd be a plus all right here we go stand back points probably stuck yeah all right

16:23and we check the window motors see if everything's working but the main thing I want to do is see if
16:26the thing would start no coil no coil it looks like we may have a bad coil so we'll just kind of
16:35go down the list so we get it started just for the record CT and Ken's back and record this in case I blow up

18:31have any parameters they're gonna get in the way of anybody's body work and vice versa I can uh feel

18:41mind this height right here dude so as soon as he gets a look at it I can hand the seat off to him
18:45I'll probably uh replace this nose with some firmer foam oh okay yeah and get this thing wrapped up

19:18coil I took off of a 63 Cadillac motor yeah so the boys are working on the Continental here and uh can't
19:24get it started Zach's over here helping out that's gonna be no well maybe a mouse shoot it hmm they're
19:30trying to put their heads together but hopefully we get a start if not we're not sure okay try it
19:34nope still no spark no spark still no spark yeah so we're having trouble getting this Continental to
19:42start right I don't have anything damn Zach you got to figure it out we're finding it out what's going
19:48on with it man well no spark turned out it was a spark issue so we weren't getting spark at any of
19:53cylinders we weren't sure we wired it right all right Nick try that all right no it was a bad coil wire
20:04it's like no spark yeah okay ready yeah go ahead huh yeah Vinci will get it yeah nothing what the
20:21I'm gonna move on to the dash we're gonna make a little housing goes right down the center of the
20:32tank and it'll house the speedometer so we'll make two pieces out of it so put a top on it so it's
20:40essentially it'll be three piece mold it up grind it make it look like one that's all right look at that
20:47right now let's put a piece back here right let's see my right there but yeah I got this
20:54old V in here that's kind of cool looking right here I'm wondering if that's what we're gonna do
21:00attack it just hold it together let me stick it right here yeah so I got the two side pieces
21:05got them fit on there and I gotta do a little tuning right here to get them to fit the tank a little
21:08better damn man that's it boy get under here and dolly these tank stretches a little but above all I'm
21:17pretty happy the way it fits let's see Mike let's see what we got here man that's cool man damn it's cool
21:24come on man but does that give us room to yeah does it now pompa can't read no how we have a
21:38Dakota digital speedo that we're gonna put on here I beam indicator one we don't need brother let me see
21:44that rascal Mike let's see man that thing gonna fit oh that thing look good dude look at that so put the
21:50cap on here I can mount a speedo and I will put a top on it button up this tank weld it all up bodywork
21:57it paint it I've got the frame here for a pampas perch hopefully it'll be comfortable and you'll be on
22:14the road first thing we got to do with the seat base is to start mocking up the foam
22:19and then from there we'll draw our designs on it they're gonna be doing a nice kind of 60s style
22:34bike and so we got to come up with a really good complementary design to make sure it doesn't look
22:40like a an afterthought that's just popped in the design we come up with is gonna take about seven
22:49pieces we'll cut out our patterns and then once we sew them together we'll be ready to stretch it we'll
22:58steam it and we'll attach it from the back and put back on the body how's it gonna go in there oh look at
23:12that man come on Mike so we got the new wheels in for pampas bike now it gives us an opportunity to
23:17take the mock-up wheels off put them on check the stance make sure we got clearance they're going we're
23:23turning look at it I can jack it up some more we're home son well the main thing we want to check is we
23:34built the fenders without having the wheels and tires damn man look at that we just want to make sure we
23:38have clearance so we put the new wheels on it yeah yeah Mike yeah we got suspension travel to consider
23:44we don't want the tires hitting the paint job rubbing or anything it's kind of an important thing before we
23:48paint the bike get this rascal so what the problem is is this has got a later one inch diameter axle front
24:06axle this is wrong the wheels are set up for three quarter inch so our legs aren't gonna work we don't
24:16get in a bad mood how's it going here boys oh it's going great Joe all right about ready to get this
24:29thing started really nice yeah so me and Bill's been messing around with it what'd you guys run
24:34into on this thing we weren't getting spark in any of the cylinders so we ended up messing with the coil
24:38and the points and eventually got nailed down and it's good to go now we got a fuel pump set up on it
24:43we didn't really want to try using the gas tank so we should be able to start it up run it get it
24:48good and going nothing major let's hear it man let's hear it all right we'll see what happens here boys

25:19doesn't have any blow by really sounds good no lifter noise so I'm pretty excited that you know
25:28it's going to up the value hopefully a little more clean up man and I think we can rest this thing for
25:32sale boy yes sir you can find a new home somebody looking for this car with it running this nice you
25:38know looking a little more presentable I mean it's a great great one to start if somebody wants to build
25:42one yeah it's gonna be a great driving I mean it's got good bones man I think that's just a chance for
25:47me to make a little more money nice work boys nice work we're getting ready to present this thing to
25:59pompa kind of running out of time here so we're just gonna take the cool looking legs off with the
26:04factory harley ones on which look fine they're chrome everything they'll look good put the quick zip on
26:10mate there it is huh oh easy now I like these I do too man I mean those other ones are beautiful but
26:19yeah these fit fine son yeah what's wrong with those ain't nothing wrong with them Jack ain't
26:25nothing wrong with them brother they look nice for this bike Mike let's get a wheel up on here

26:42tweak out when we tighten it you know I got a cramp in my hand oh yeah what the hell is that oh you

26:57like Freddy Krueger's hand I'm excited it's good it's ready for body work now
27:01we finally finished all the metal work on Papa's bike now that we've got a sheet metal work done
27:11we'll go in and do some filler work just metal prep everything get as slick as we can put some
27:16filler on it prime it block it get it ready for the paint job doing bodywork on a bike is way easier
27:26than a car obviously you got tons less of surface area to deal with so yeah it goes a little quicker
27:40with a bike yeah I got everything body worked here on the fenders and the tank so the next step now is
27:50prop this stuff up and we'll get some primer on it what I'm doing right now is touching up the frame
28:04where we cut the neck got everything taped up Dan got everything taped we'll hit it touch everything
28:11and back up black there's some nicks and scratches over the years I want to dial it in just kind of
28:19freshen it up a little bit but obviously not taking the motor out it's ready to go and then we can
28:25start the reassembler so I got everything in the booth now we got everything sanded got it sealed
28:41primed got it prepped up start cleaning it up we start doing some fun stuff yes definitely gonna be some
28:48phases of the art and this particular deal here I'm gonna go back to a paint job but something I
28:54did a long time ago and pump always reminds eyes I get paint job it basically starts with just some
29:00underlying patterns it's kind of a retro style this pattern looks kind of dominant right now but once
29:05candy green goes over it's gonna kind of you know darken up so it'd be like essentially putting green
29:12window tint on top of this this is basically just the underlay of all the graphics to go on there so
29:19I'm pretty confident it's gonna look pretty cool so I'm gonna go ahead and get the candy green on here
29:22and I'll move on to the next step the pump is gonna drop in on us in a couple weeks and he still has no idea this is a bite
29:34yeah I definitely think pump is gonna be very surprised he made him cry a little bit he may try to

30:18cylinder and the handlebars oh come on man come on Mike we let him do his magic on it came out
30:26looking great yeah when we join all the pieces together for the pipes or the handlebars we want
30:31a metal finish them where they actually look like one continuous piece like they're formed that
30:35way oh yeah I'm like damn man that's how you know you got a you know good plater I'm gonna start
30:42running my hydraulic lines yeah that's a good idea man the bars are on it's a one step process at a
30:48time but we're real close you're close to being well man that looks pretty cool I'm digging it okay I

31:23of the gate we got an interested buyer hey apparently the buyer would like to kind of have
31:31us do a virtual tour we're just gonna show you some of the things that weren't noticeable in the
31:35pictures but some of the badging is missing just a few of the letters here of course it's gonna need a
31:40paint job it's it's you know it's got it's a 56 you know it's taking some hits when you're doing it
31:46online like digital electronically you're like you're hoping you're given enough we've got interior here
31:52and a couple little things but nothing major well we listen for 14 yeah listen for 14 that is also the
32:00weirdest negotiation I think I've ever had yeah yeah we can do 12 we do 12 we can do 12. we'll do 12.

32:19we're making a lot of progress on Papa's bike we put the candy green on here
32:36you know over the years when Papa's talked about his dream bike he's always come back to this candy
32:41green so now we're getting to the stage we pull my tape lines off to reveal the silver and it'll
32:46really separate these graphics now I'm gonna tape off the graphics I'm gonna spray in the black it's
32:53gonna be the background color so once I do that it's gonna tie into the black of the frame and then I
33:02decide I'm gonna do a flame job
33:10I'm just gonna add one more layer of green that's gonna determine exactly where the flames will go
33:15I think with the flames and the shadow work all that kind of stuff tied in with the black I think
33:21pump is gonna love it I think it's gonna freak out on
33:23the last thing I did was airbrushed some shadows on these flames here did the flames did black so now
33:33I'll do the outline a little artwork on the side here final clear and hopefully we'd be buffing this
33:37thing in a few days I'm pretty excited how it's coming out still have the final pinstripe to do
33:42that'll really give it some depth I think it's gonna really pop here on pump is back we've
33:50started reassembling now that arrow goes to the front goes just like that oh yeah boy it's fitting
33:58nice pump I got the deluxe paint job that's it right there that is oh yeah it is son now that Joe got
34:06everything painted we got it all it's in when we stand back this thing's fantastic man that's
34:11all right you're gonna have to run you go you're gonna hug you might you got that you're gonna try
34:16to hug you might yeah you know that we've got all the tins on this thing we're gonna put the seed
34:20on it hey that's an all-day driver man it don't get any more confident than that man it sure doesn't
34:27try to get some gas in it let's put some gas and let's put some gas in it hopefully don't have
34:33any leaks let's fire this thing up who's firing it I'll crank it best now with the point firing
34:40this thing up it's always something we've got an issue yes we put a little fuel in it and tried
34:52to start it up just spinning over it's not getting any fire all right boys you ain't got no fuel though
35:01I cleaned a lot of just debris a lot of rust out of it and we ain't getting no fuel Jake so that
35:08stuff's probably got in the fuel valve in the filter that's something's clogged up like a mofo or
35:12something so we're just getting a fuel starvation situation there ain't a drop of gas you're
35:16iron a popcorn fart right there ain't shit but Dave's got that little pump that pump of gas right out
35:21there Dave does yeah he's got a little electric pump it'll drain it quick that's what I drained it
35:26with boy took it out of the all right let me go get him yeah in the splash zone yes we'll drain
35:35the tank it's kind of a hassle I don't like doing it because the paint's fresh yeah boys change up the
35:43valve that and that's how much has some rusty going on to it yeah it had some nasty in the tank man
35:48and hopefully it starts running some fuel through there yeah it's working good we should have known
35:55you're at those pingos we should have got a new one yep that's our own fault just crank it up crank
36:02it up I think I'm gonna come flying that is job I think we're good to go like sounds great you
36:17never know how the custom pipes are gonna sound you know all the different links sound a little
36:21different but man it's got a nice tone to it it's not too cackly it's got just a good you know bassy
36:31sound to it man that's all right brother I mean it fired up just like a Harley always does it
36:36sounds good the pops that Joe made for it sounded really good damn that thing's cool man that thing's
36:41cool that's real sure it's gonna cry he's gonna hug Mike I just can't wait to get it out on the
36:46street and just let it rip a little bit let's go let's go hide this thing I'm going home right
36:50yeah pump is gonna trip out yeah you know pump is coming to town this weekend I cannot wait to
36:59see the look on his face when we tell him we got his old fat boy you know and it's looking mean
37:03and green last thing we got to do is get this thing on the road damn Mike been a while since this
37:12thing seen some sunlight it's beautiful Dan I saw you have pump is ready to go brother I say we go
37:17cruising brother let's go shake them down the best way to test drive this bike is we ride together
37:20the bike runs and rides great basically you know stock Harley got plenty of power sounds great
37:46the bars feel great you're sitting down in the pocket you know just a killer riding experience
37:54on this thing rolling beside pompous bike makes you realize how badass this thing really is I mean
38:01it's looking good hell Joe's looking good on it we're rolling everything's good right now I think the
38:07thing with motorcycles are it's the next best thing to flying really because you're going down the road
38:13you know you're going fast and you're out in the open especially you know obviously when it's nice
38:19weather the paint job too it's really cool you know it's obviously got a lot of metal flake and the
38:24candies and stuff so in the Sun it's sparkling and everything it just looks killer and you're riding
38:29along and looking at the cool paint job and everything's shining man it's fun Papa's bike it's all
38:36the stuff that we did to it it really brings it out you know the fender the tank you know the
38:41pipe's shining and sounding good the rear fender looking good everything's looking good on this
38:45bike I mean it's a complete makeover basically and rolling down the roads when they look the best
38:51some of that old school gold on there gotta live to ride brother ride to live so we got this great
39:03little setup for the pomp you know we got his back in one building we put in all the parts that we've
39:07taken off of another building we got some mutual friends coming in Lee and Chris great great
39:11motorcycle guys what's up boys Chris how you doing man good man how you doing good you know they've
39:18been storing Pampa's bike for a while a long while so you know we thought it would be really cool to
39:23bring them in on the surprise man Papa what you doing man working working what y'all doing I heard you
39:37were coming back into town we've been talking about doing this for him for a long time and you know the
39:41times come it's gonna be exciting to give it to him to see his reaction I think he's gonna he's gonna flip out

41:24sheet metal around it built the pipes built the bars it's a it's a great looking bike I tell you
