00:00U.S. Marshals in the Central District of California, on Tuesday, transferred custody of Tahour Rana,
00:06a Pakistani national Canadian citizen, to representatives from India's Ministry of External Affairs.
00:12These are details coming in.
00:14First, images of that very moment when U.S. handed over Tahour Rana to India.
00:22Take a look at those pictures coming in.
00:24Of Marshals in the U.S. handing over Tahour Rana to Indian authorities, to investigative agencies who brought him back from the U.S. to India.
00:37These are images of the man who for years together, since the year 2008, was escaping justice.
00:44Pictures are of the Marshals transferring Rana to the NIA team, as you can see in these pictures.
00:51As these are images coming in, at this point in time, Tahour Rana has come back to the country to face justice.
00:58The Pakistan-Canadian doctor, who was living in Chicago, has now been sent back to the country to face justice.
01:10The extradition process completed, with U.S. handing over Tahour Rana to India.
01:17The U.S. has also put out a statement, talking about the fact that the U.S. has long supported India's efforts to ensure those responsible for these attacks are brought to justice.
01:34The United States and India, the U.S. said, will work together to combat global scourge of terror.
01:40In these pictures, as you can see at this point in time, the man who has come back to the country now, Tahour Rana, was being handed over by the authorities in the U.S.
01:50These are U.S. Marshals, who handed back Tahour Rana to India, to Indian authorities, who were there to bring him back to the country.
02:02For the moment, the man has been sent to 18-day custody in a chart sheet, giving out specific details about the role of the man.
02:12Tahour Rana, extradited from the U.S., facing charges of aiding the 26-11 Mumbai terror attacks.
02:21Exclusive pictures on your screens at this point in time of Tahour Rana being handed over to the Indian authorities by U.S. Marshals.
02:31These are U.S. Marshals in the Central District of California, transferring custody of Tahour Rana.
02:38A Pakistani national happens to be a Canadian citizen to representatives from India's Ministry of External Affairs.
02:46Big development we're reporting on right now.
02:48These images exclusive on India Today television that you see on your screens right now.
02:53The very second, where Tahour Rana was being handed over by U.S. Marshals in the Central District of California.
03:02Pictures are from California, where he was handed over a Pakistani national and a Canadian citizen to representatives from India's Ministry of External Affairs.
03:14The SNI are taking him to 18-day custody for interrogation to uncover the full conspiracy behind these attacks.
03:24Rana extradited from U.S. to India for involvement, direct involvement, in the 26-11 Mumbai terror carnage.
03:34This, in fact, has followed a lengthy process to tell our viewers.
03:40He arrived at Delhi's Palam Technical Airport and was arrested by the NIA.
03:48But these are pictures before he was handed over Shivani to authorities from the Ministry of External Affairs.
03:56Agencies were there to take this man, bring this man back to justice in India.
04:02Sneha, this happens to be one of the biggest extradition missions that has been completed in coordination with the United States and Indian agencies together.
04:12Yesterday at 6.24 p.m., Tahour Rana landed in India.
04:16But these pictures show that how he was being handed over to the NIA, how he has been now arrested by NIA.
04:23But these pictures from the United States and the release clearly shows how United States admits that Tahour Rana was a criminal.
04:31He is a criminal of this massacre of 26-11 where more than 160 people, 166 people, in fact, lost their lives.
04:39And he has also conspired to act against India in this act of terror.
04:46So this is a mission in which United States and Indian agencies have acted together.
04:52And this is a diplomatic win too for India because, you know, after 2019, there were several efforts by the NIA to get him back to India.
05:01And now he is in India.
05:03He's facing trial.
05:05And this is the confirmation in a way from the United States also that the involvement of Tahour Rana has been quite significant in this terror attack.
05:14It's Shivani getting in those details at this point in time.
05:18Be with us.
05:19These are pictures exclusive.
05:20We are putting out on India Today television where we see shackles around Rana, in fact, who has now been handed over to India.
05:29Pictures are from the moment in California where he was handed over to the authorities.
05:33Shivani, for our viewers, take us to what happened during this journey.
05:38The minute he was handed over to the Indian authorities, it's the big development.
05:41It's a huge success, not just for this government, for the previous governments as well, given the manner in which he was first arrested in the year 2009.
05:50What more can you tell us what happened from this moment onwards?
05:55Since 2009, when the efforts were made and a case was registered against him, there have been attempts by Tahabur Rana to escape this trial.
06:06He has tried all the courts in the United States on all the excuses, the laughable ones also saying that he's not safe in India if he's handed over to Indian government.
06:17So all these excuses were snubbed and rubbished by the U.S. Supreme Court.
06:23And now he is already in India, extradited in India.
06:27And remember, this announcement had come when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was meeting the U.S. President Donald Trump in the United States.
06:34And this shows how India had been persuading his extradition because he needs to be put under trial for justice to all those who lost their lives.
06:44And it was announced yesterday by the Bureau of Prisons that now, after 8th of April, Tahabur Rana is not in their custody and he has already been handed over to India.
06:58And these pictures once again reassure how India and the United States have acted together in this important and a very crucial extradition mission from United States to India,
07:10where Tahabur Rana came to India in a special flight along with the NIE officials and also the IB officials who were accompanying him.
07:19He landed at Palam Airport yesterday evening and after 8 hours of all the procedures, his medical, his hearing before the court, the NIE special court, now he is at the NIE headquarters.
07:32But these pictures show all the protocols that have been followed in the due process of extradition because this wasn't an easy mission, Sneha.
07:40India was already prepared for it because he was expected to come back to India.
07:45The agencies were working on this mission together with the United States.
07:49And remember yesterday when the NIE had released a statement, they said that the U.S. agencies have also coordinated with them along with the Indian agencies,
07:57the NSD commandos, the Sky Marshals who have brought him back on the flight.
08:02So you can say that this is again a symbol of how India is working with the United States and United States acknowledges India's fight against terror.
08:12Absolutely. Be with our Shivani. I'll come back to you in a moment from now.
08:16I'm going to go straight across to Amit Bhardwaj, joining us from the NIE headquarters in the national capital.
08:22Amit, take us to the developments at this point in time. What's really happening?
08:26You know, Taha Burrana right now in 18-day custody is what we know.
08:30NIE has been the nodal investigating agency in this entire case.
08:34Take us to the details of what to expect in the next few days or so to come.
08:42Well, Sneha, the picture has become even more clear because since yesterday, there must have been a lot of questions amongst many of our viewers as well
08:52as to what are the charges that Taha Burrana will be standing for trial in India.
08:59Now, that picture has become pretty clear.
09:01You know, 10 grounds on which extradition of Taha Burrana has been done to India, which means that the Ministry of External Affairs and the NIE have given these documents enough for a stockpile of documents of watertight case to the United States authorities because of which this extradition has been carried out.
09:20And he has been brought back to Indian soil to bring him to justice, you know, to give justice to those who lost their loved ones in the 26-11 terror attack in Mumbai.
09:30And it's the picture is pretty clear.
09:33Ten charges.
09:34What are these charges?
09:35You know, this are all these charges are stemming from the terror attack of 26-11 Mumbai terror attack.
09:41And it's not only limited to conspiracy or providing logistical support.
09:47The details are even more, you know, grave.
09:51He is facing charges of murder, of executing terror act in India on Indian soil, along with that case of conspiracy forgery and his involvement in several other aspects in connection to the 26-11 Mumbai terror attack,
10:09which was done by the Laskar Itaibah to strike terror in India, to bleed India.
10:15So the picture is even more clear.
10:18And that brings us to the answer as to what Taha Burrana is to face in India at the NIA headquarters.
10:25You know, now the questioning that will be done with Taha Burrana by the 12 investigators of the NIA,
10:33because remember, for our viewers as well, we are breaking it down again at the NIA office.
10:38He has been kept in a very secured cell, which has two CCTV cameras.
10:42Every activity of Taha Burrana is being monitored, visually monitored.
10:47There's a bed that has been kept in the room itself.
10:50That cell itself, food is being provided to him.
10:53And the basic amenities as per the law is being provided to him within that cell so that he does not have any excuse to leave the room.
11:02Beyond that, only 12 select investigators of the NIA will be given access to this terrorist to 26-11 plotter, Taha Burrana.
11:13And at 11 a.m. at the NIA headquarters, which is right behind me, there will be a meeting of these 12 investigators,
11:20the top NIA officials, to carve out a strategy on the questioning.
11:25But the picture seems to be pretty clear as to how that questioning will lead in the next 18 days.
11:32Because these are the 10 grounds criminal charges that Taha Burrana is to face trial in India.
11:38And hence the questioning, the probing, the confrontation with the documents and evidence will be done on those lines of those 10 charges.
11:46The charges include the allegations of murder, terror act in India, conspiracy, forgery and several other aspects in connection with the 26-11 Mumbai terror attack.
12:01Which also brings us to the fact that Taha Burrana will be probed as to how or whether he knew Hafiz Saeed.
12:09When and where did he meet Hafiz Saeed or the LET operatives, the Laskari Taiba operatives.
12:16And beyond that as well, whether the Pakistani army or the Pakistani agencies or somebody from the Pakistani agencies were also working in tandem with him
12:27while he was plotting this attack on India, was helping David Headley to come.
12:33India was giving him cover through his first world immigration office so that David Headley gets a clearance and easy access to different establishments in the country.
12:43Right from Mumbai to the defense establishment in Delhi or even reiki in the areas such as Hindus, spiritual congregation of Maha Kumbha or the Kumbha for that matter in Haridwar.
12:56So all these angles will be probed by the NIA in the next 18 days.
13:02But the beginning chapter, the first chapter of that probe will begin today after that crucial meeting at 11 a.m.
13:10Bivadas, I'll just come back to you in a moment from now.
13:12Amit Bhardwaj, getting asked those details from the NIA headquarters in Delhi where Taha Burrana is right now.
13:17In a major, major breakthrough.
13:19We're telling our viewers about the 26-11 Mumbai attacks conspirator.
13:22Taha Burrana, who's been remanded to 18-day NIA custody after his extradition from the U.S.
13:29Sources say NIA will begin grilling Rana in just any time now.
13:32Amit is telling us that it's going to happen at 11 in about 45 minutes.
13:37A set of questions ready, prepared.
13:39Officers will follow the same line of questioning.
13:41Rana's interrogation will be recorded.
13:43The interrogation team will be led by NIA-DIG.
13:46The NIA has told the court that David Headley, already convicted, had discussed the entire plot with Rana before coming to India.
13:54Headley also emailed Rana details of his belongings and informed him of the roles of Pakistani nationals Ilyas Kashmiri and Abdul Rahman.
14:02Rana landed at Delhi's Palam Air Base around 6.20 p.m. on Thursday.
14:06Last evening, taken to Patiala House Court under tight security by the NIA said his custodial interrogation is key to uncovering the full extent of the 2008 conspiracy.
14:17The special NIA court has granted custody for 18 days to the NIA to interrogate Taha Burrana to get to the bottom of the conspiracies that was hatched by Taha Burrana and David Headley regarding the 26-11
14:47attacks and now in the frames you have live visuals of Taha Burrana leaving the NIA court at 2.30 in the night after a prolonged hearing had happened regarding his custody where there were arguments placed by the NIA, there were arguments placed on his behalf by his lawyer that has been provided by the legal aid.
15:04The NIA wanted 20 days of police custody to investigate the matters further and the court has granted 18 days of police custody and the court has directed that any medical requirements on his behalf would be taken care of and comprehensive medical tests would be done when he is taken into custody and before he is brought back into court.
15:26This is the first time that he has been brought before court after he was extradited from the United States.
15:31Did Taha Burrana have anything to say to court today?
15:35As I said earlier, he made a request that any counsel who is representing him, be it DLSA or somebody else, there should be no public outrage because at the end of the day, we from DLSA are basically doing our jobs and under the requisite laws.
15:54So that was one of the requests that he had made.
16:24Some of the requests that he had made.
16:26So we will not forget, we will not forget, we will not forget, we will not forget and we will not forgive you.
16:32On April 9th, the United States extradited Taha Burrana to India to face justice for his role in planning the horrific 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks.
16:48Some of you may, some people watching may not remember these, but I encourage you to look them up and to find out exactly how horrible this was and the importance of this situation today.
17:00These attacks resulted in the tragic loss of 166 lives, including six Americans that shocked the entire world.
17:08The United States has long supported India's efforts to ensure those responsible for these attacks are brought to justice.
17:16And as President Trump has said, the United States and India will continue to work together to combat the global scourge of terrorism.
17:24Taha Burrana in the custody of the NIA.
17:28Rana kept in a cell on the ground floor of the NIA headquarters to tell our viewers how things are at this point in time.
17:36He's kept in a 14 by 14 cell at the NIA headquarters in Delhi.
17:41CCTV cameras installed in Rana's cell, two of them.
17:46His cell has a bed and a bathroom.
17:49Food arrangements are being made for Rana, as is there for any other prisoner, any other criminal.
17:55Multiple-led security with 24-hour guards is what we know.
17:59These are details of the security arrangements.
18:02Rana is going to be interrogated and this is going to happen on camera.
18:06It's been less than 24 hours since Taha Burrana, the mastermind of the 26-11 Mumbai attacks, set foot on Indian soil.
18:14But a political credit war is already underway.
18:18SENA UBT has claimed that the effort to bring Rana back has been ongoing for 16 years,
18:24beginning during the Congress-led UPA government and further added
18:27that the central government may time the execution to coincide with the Bihar elections later this year.
18:35A Samajwadi party have also targeted the BJP,
18:38warning that digging into the past could reveal uncomfortable truths,
18:42including how many terrorists were released under the BJP.
18:47MP and former Union Minister Anurag Thakur has hit back at the Congress party
18:51and its allies, claiming that bomb blasts were a routine affair under the Congress regime,
18:56adding that when attacks were unchecked then,
18:58under BJP, the perpetrators are being caught and brought to justice.

20:33Let's get our viewers up to speed with a possible questionnaire that the NIA has readied for Tahavur Rana on the 2611 Mumbai carnage
20:43The big question here that she's going to be asked, where was your location during 26th of November 2008 on that fateful day when the attacks really started
20:51Remember, it went on for three days. Why did you come to India between November 8th, 2008 and November 21st, 2008
20:59Whom did you meet and where did you stay when you were in India? That's something that they will get him to answer for sure
21:08When did you come to know about the terror attack plan in Mumbai?
21:13Why did you send Headley to India with a fake visa? What is the reason behind it?
21:18What did Headley tell you about the places that he visited in India?
21:23That's a question that he's going to be dealing with, he's going to be posed with
21:26What did David Headley come to India to do?
21:29What was your and Headley's role in Mumbai attacks?
21:33That's also a question that he will be answering
21:36How did you help Headley get an Indian visa?
21:40What was your role in planning the Mumbai attacks?
21:43How did Headley help you in gathering information for these attacks?
21:47I'm going straight across to Amit for more details on that story
21:51Amit continues to be with us from the NIA headquarters
21:53Amit, you know, a set of questions ready for Tahavur Rana
21:58Some serious answering to do after so many years
22:01And he's come back to the country to face justice
22:03Just tell us once again a little about how will today look like for Tahavur Rana
22:09As far as the investigations, the DIG is going to be opposing these questions
22:13To the high profile criminal who's just been extradited
22:16Amit?
22:17Yes, Neha, you know, all of this will begin actually at 11 a.m. today
22:26When the NIA officials will be holding a crucial meeting
22:29At 11 a.m. at the NIA headquarters right behind me
22:32And in this particular meeting, the entire, you know, theory
22:37Or the strategy for the questioning as to when and how this questioning needs to be done
22:42I'm saying how because there are 18 days that the NIA has to question him
22:46To confront him with documents, with evidences, with further probing and drilling
22:51In order to, you know, get the maximum out of Tahavur Rana
22:56Remember, it's not only about Tahavur Rana's role in the Mumbai attacks
23:02But the conspiracy beyond it as to how and whether certain individuals sitting in Pakistan
23:07Were working in tandem with Tahavur Rana, David Headley
23:11The terrorist who attacked India on 26-11
23:15Those who attacked Mumbai on 26-11
23:18So the larger conspiracy angle as well needs to be taken out
23:22The dots needs to be connected
23:24There are several blanks which needs to be filled in the 26-11 investigation
23:29So that will be done as well
23:32While these NIA officials question Tahavur Rana
23:35And that questioning will begin from today
23:3718 days of custody has been given
23:39So in order to break it down for our viewers
23:41It is going to be precisely on the three lines
23:45Number one, Tahavur Rana's involvement in the terror plot of 26-11
23:50When did he come to India?
23:52Which all places did he visit?
23:54What was the purpose of him being exactly before that terror attack
23:59Of 26-11
24:01Those, the time that he spent on in India
24:04Where all did he go?
24:06Who all did he meet?
24:07So these are the one aspect
24:09Obviously his connection with David Headley will be also probed
24:12So that's one angle
24:13The second angle is about his connections with Laskar-e-Taiba
24:18Hafiz Saeed
24:19Did he meet Hafiz Saeed?
24:20Did he know Hafiz Saeed?
24:22Where did the meetings happen?
24:23What was the connection between Tahavur Rana and Laskar-e-Taiba?
24:28So that's the second angle
24:30The third angle is going to be
24:31Whether there were certain individuals within the Pakistani establishment
24:36Or the ISI or any other, you know, extra
24:40Beyond these networks
24:43We know how the state within Pakistan works
24:46How these attacks are arranged through the Pakistani individuals
24:52So whether someone from such establishments were in connection with Tahavur Rana
24:57And whether they were working in tandem with Tahavur Rana
25:00All that needs to be questioned as well
25:02So these are going to be primarily three angles on which the probing could happen in the next 18 days to go
25:09But certainly the beginning of that chapter will begin from today
25:14When Tahavur Rana will be questioned about his involvement in 2611 attacks
25:19And remember he faces 10 charges on which he will be trialed in India
25:25And these will include charges of murder, terror act in India, conspiracy, forgery
25:31And other angles in connection to the 2611 terror attack
25:35Back to you
25:36Be with us, Samit
25:37I'm just going to in fact come back to you in a moment
25:39From now we have more news coming in at this point in time
25:42Let's take a look
25:42This is the US DOG statement
25:45Tahavur Rana to stand trial in India
25:48On 10 criminal charges
25:51Is what we are learning
25:52This is the Justice Department on the extradition of Rana
25:56Criminal charges stemming from his alleged role in the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai
26:02Rana 64 is charged in India with numerous offenses including conspiracy, murder, commission of a terrorist act
26:10Forgery related to his alleged involvement in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks committed by Lashkar A. Taiva
26:17This is the Justice Department statement that has come in on the charges that Rana is facing
26:22On April 9th, the United States extradited Tawarur Hussein Rana to India to face justice for his role in planning the horrific 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks
26:41Some of you may, some people watching may not remember these but I encourage you to look them up and to find out exactly how horrible this was and the importance of this situation today
26:53These attacks resulted in the tragic loss of 166 lives including six Americans that shocked the entire world
27:01The United States has long supported India's efforts to ensure those responsible for these attacks are brought to justice
27:08And as President Trump has said, the United States and India will continue to work together to combat the global scourge of terrorism
27:18I'm going to go straight across to Amit Bhardwaj for more details on that
27:23Amit, you know, this is a statement from the Department of Justice talking about the fact that
27:29Rana is to stand trial on 10 criminal charges that he is facing
27:34You know, take us to the details of what does the charge sheet also say
27:38The NIA charge sheet against Rana
27:40Well, Sneha, you know, we know for a matter of fact the way Indian agencies worked in tandem with the U.S. agencies
27:52In order for successful extradition of the Havur Rana
27:55But why did that happen?
27:57How did the U.S. agencies authorities suddenly change their mind
28:00And allow the extradition of the Havur Rana
28:03That is because Indian agencies have a watertight case against him
28:08And it's not only about conspiracy or, you know, giving logistical support to the Havur Hussain Rana
28:15Because till date, the international media, so to say, was referring him to someone who provided logistical support to David Coleman Hedley
28:25His involvement in the 2611 horrific terror attack on India
28:30Which led to the murder of 166 people
28:35The massacre of 166 people in Mumbai
28:38The involvement of the Havur Hussain Rana is much bigger than just conspiring or plotting that terror attack on India
28:46You know, the 10 charges is something that has been given to the United States Authority
28:52The Department of Justice has taken note of it
28:55And they have, you know, officially accepted and communicated it as well
29:01That these all 10 charges, criminal charges are stemming from the 2611 Mumbai terror attack
29:08And they involve, they include conspiracy, murder, commission of terror act in India on Indian soil
29:16Along with that forgery and several other angles in connection to the Mumbai terror attack
29:23That was executed by the Leskare Taiba
29:25Now, what will happen in India is that after this extradition process was completed successfully yesterday
29:33And remember, we are a country which believes in our legal system
29:37And, you know, even a terror accused is being given all the recourses which are available as per the Indian legal system
29:45And that is why when he landed on the Indian soil and he was put under arrest by the NIA
29:50A thorough medical examination was done by Indian authorities
29:55And the documents of which have been put in front of the court as well
29:59And similar documents must have been also shared with the US counterparts as well
30:03Because remember, this is a case of extradition as well
30:06So, they have to be kept in a loop as far as his health is concerned
30:10So, that must have been communicated as well
30:13So, now what will happen is that for next 18 days
30:17Tahavur Hussain Rana is going to be probed on the angles
30:21The 10 charges that he is facing including murder, commission of terror attack
30:25As well as forgery and several other cases in connection to the 2611 terror attack
30:33The Leskare Taiba attack on India
30:35So, all that angles will be probed
30:38He will be confronted with evidences and the documents which are already available
30:42Because remember, someone like Ajmal Aamir Kassab was hanged till death
30:47Only after a fair trial was completed in India with documents, with evidences
30:53And all those documents, chart sheet is already with the agencies
30:58And the case is because with the NIA
31:00Hence, Tahavur Hussain Rana has been brought to the national capital, not to Mumbai
31:05But there is always a possibility that he can be actually taken to Mumbai later on
31:11So, when the investigation, the Mumbai crime branch or the Mumbai agencies which wants
31:16To probe him, Maharashtra agencies which wants to probe him in the terror plot of 2611
31:21They could also seek permission to get his remand
31:25But that will happen in the later stage, if at all
31:28Right now, for next 18 days, the questioning of Tahavur Hussain Rana is going to happen in the NIA headquarters right behind me
31:3512 investigators of the NIA are the only ones who will be given access to Tahavur Hussain Rana
31:41And they will be probing him
31:44But that process will begin after a crucial meeting which, as per our sources, is slated to happen at 11am today
31:53Where the officials of the NIA will be meeting the senior officials of the NIA
31:57And after that, that strategy will be carved out
32:00But 12 investigators will probe him for next 18 days
32:03Back to you
32:03Amit, I'm going to leave it there for the moment
32:06Amit Bhardwaj detailing on what lies ahead for Tahavur Hussain Rana
32:10Let's take a look at this report on what happened there
32:13NIA arresting Tahavur Hussain Rana
32:15A Pakistani-born Canadian businessman wanted by India for years together
32:20The first pictures of the 64-year-old terror suspect Shodrana facing away from the camera
32:26With white hair and a beard and dressed in a brown overall over a grey garment
32:32Being escorted by NIA officials
32:35Big diplomatic win for India
32:43After nearly 17 years
32:4626-11 plotter
32:50Designated terrorist
32:51Tahavur Hussain Rana has finally been brought to India
32:55Draped in brown prison overalls
32:58His long grey beard unkept and face grim
33:02Tahavur Hussain Rana finally landed in India late evening on Thursday
33:07Escorted under tight security by NIA officials
33:11Rana was flown in from the US
33:13Making a stopover in Bucharest in Romania
33:17Rana's plane landed in Delhi at around 6.22 p.m. on April 10th
33:27He got out of the plane at around 6.30 p.m.
33:31After coming out, he was arrested by the NIA under UAPA at 6.40 p.m.
33:37A medical checkup was done inside the airbase
33:42The NIA will interrogate Rana to uncover deeper insights into the cross-border conspiracy and Pakistan's involvement in the 26-11 attacks
33:54Rana's extradition was made possible after the US Supreme Court rejected his plea against extradition
34:02The US Department of Justice acknowledged Rana's extradition
34:08Calling it a critical step towards seeking justice for six Americans and scores of other victims who were killed in heinous attacks
34:17The Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed a public prosecutor to lead the trial
34:22Tahavur Hussain Rana's extradition brings hope of justice and closure for the victims of one of the worst terror attacks the world has seen
34:32So what is Tahavur Hussain Rana expected to reveal?
34:42Who was his Pakistan handler?
34:44That's a question that he will have to answer
34:47This man on your screens right now
34:49Who funded him?
34:51Who are his business partners?
34:53Which sleeper cells were operating in India?
34:57Who helped Headley in India?
34:59Did Pakistan's ISIS Sajid Mir come to India?
35:03Did anyone else from Pakistan, AMI or the ISIS visit India?
35:12These are the questions that Tahavur Hussain Rana will be answering and will be expected to reveal to the authorities once that grilling begins
35:21This is relief for investors as markets open in green
35:25Sensex rises 1,300 points at 75,000
35:30Nifty also up 430 points reaches 22,000
35:34Sakshi Batra getting in some good news this morning
35:37Sakshi, a couple of days it's been okay
35:40Markets open in the green today as well
35:42And there is some relief
35:44We were talking about the dust settling
35:46Do you think the dust has at least for the time being settled?
35:49Sakshi
35:49Tariff is definitely leading into some good news for Indian investors at large
35:59We can see a sea of green
36:01Something that was evading us for a long haul in the Indian stock markets
36:05And you can see all the sectors of the Nifty up into the green today
36:09Metals, auto, pharma, IT
36:12All of those that were being seen as huge whipping boys of the tariff talk
36:19All of them are showing up in trade today as a relief after this 90 day pause has come into effect
36:28Now definitely for some time Indian government will have the time to negotiate better when it comes to tariffs and we will have some certainty going forward from here
36:39Now what you see is that 90 days we have the time to think through all the possibilities and we will be negotiating better for us
36:5726% tariff is not yet implemented on India
37:02There is a base 10% tariff that has been implemented worldwide by the US
37:06What also has an advantage remember China has been you know facing this 145% of tariff that also signs that India will be advantage
37:18Our China plus one strategy will again come back into focus remember when two of the largest economies in the world are at log ahead with tariff
37:26This potentially also hints that there could be a trade freeze between US and China
37:31Now what will happen there could be some negative impact caused on global trade as well
37:36But there could also be a silver lining for India
37:38People could be looking back at India as a China plus one strategy manufacturing could shift here
37:44More and more exports from India to US could actually be a possibility
37:48Remember last few days we have also seen how Apple has airlifted so many tons of Apple phones from China
37:56Just before the tariffs were to be and are implemented that could also come back to India as an alternate at this point in time
38:03Because we are in a better position a hundred and forty-five percent tariff is not at all sustainable
38:07Of course things could also also change on that aspect
38:10But as the given situation is India is on a better footing and that's what the Indian investors are sharing with the market today
38:16All right sense it's jumping in fact
38:181,400 points the stock market rallying and it has clearly lit up our screens and
38:24lifted our moods as well
38:26I'm going to go back now to sakshi to tell us a little more about which are the stocks doing extremely well
38:32Of course investors are in fact will be advised to tread carefully through this
38:36I would say maybe you know the risk of sounding very negative
38:40Maybe a temporary pocket of optimism isn't it sakshi
38:43Absolutely you see I mean look at how the metals are rallying there's a four percent kind of an up move today
38:50Remember metals are a global story this was uh, you know a clearly losing all the sheen over the last few days
38:56We've been seeing how global demand dampening could have impacted
38:59But look at tartar steel, gsw steel, all of these stocks are forwarding higher
39:04Even the pharma stocks three and a half percent up
39:06Remember it was being seen as how donald trump pointed out that pharma is next going to be on radar
39:12They're going to be putting status as never seen before on pharma and pharma stocks were definitely lagging behind were crashing over the last few days
39:21That's also coming back into focus sun pharma, cifla, doctor readies all of these stocks are coming back into focus
39:27The other third sector is the auto sector again
39:30Remember tata motors had indicated that they are stopping shipping of jlr to the u.s. Because of the tariff
39:38Now all of those situations could actually change yet again tata motors need not take such a haste decision
39:44Stock is rallying auto and series
39:48Right sakshi getting in those details setting us about a surprise rally, which is in fact
40:00uh, uh, may in fact driving in some optimism, but volatility still a volatility rather is still lurking
40:08Is what sakshi is clearly indicating the sense of the rising at 75,000 the nifty to up for 30 points at 22
40:18U.s. China trade war heating up tensions rise as u.s. China trade war intensifies further
40:29President Donald trump has sharply raised tariffs on chinese imports now soaring to hundred and forty five percent including the additional 20 percent
40:38Federal tariffs this escalation comes amid a bitter tit-for-tat standoff that rally that's rattling the global markets and creating fresh uncertainty for businesses
40:48Worldwide from defended the move saying tariff revenues will help reduce us debt while addressing that america is so open to striking a deal with china
40:56China responded firmly saying it prefers dialogue but is ready to fight till the end if pushed
41:02Meanwhile a 90-day pause a new tariffs for several countries including india has taken effect under a new presidential directive
41:09What happens with china we would love to be able to work a deal
41:29They've really taken advantage of our country for a long period of time. They've ripped us off beyond anybody nobody
41:35How people stood for sitting in my position is not even believable
41:41And we're talking about many presidents not just a couple
41:45But they did and all we're doing is putting it back in shape. We're resetting the table
41:51And i'm sure that we'll be able to get along very well. I have great respect for president. She's been
41:59In a true sense. He's been a friend of mine for a long period of time
42:02And I think that
42:05We'll end up working out something that's very good for both countries. I look forward to it
42:16And more news coming in we're going straight to the pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who's landed at the airport in his constituency of
42:23Varanasi. He's taken detailed information from the police commissioner divisional commissioner district magistrate about the rape incident that took place in the city a few days ago
42:33Pictures are coming in he's there to launch development projects worth close to 4,000 and as far as the rape incident the horrific incident
42:42Is concerned he's directed to identify all culprits and take action against them and to make comprehensive arrangements
42:49Prevent recurrence of such incidents in future the prime minister. They're speaking with the cops and the district magistrate there
43:02The prime minister to launch various developmental projects. He's landed in Banaras to launch 44 projects
43:10In Banaras his home his constituency essentially focusing on infrastructure education power and tourism
43:19This is in line with his commitment to infrastructure development particularly enhancing road connectivity in Banaras
43:27He's laying the foundation stone of various projects
43:31To enhance road connectivity inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for various projects in the country
43:38He's also laying the foundation stone for the road bridge between Banaras ring road and sarnath
43:43I'm going straight across to summer shivastaf for more on that story the prime minister in his parliamentary
43:50constituency there to inaugurate
43:53developmental projects
43:54But before that an important matter that he seems to have addressed with the police and the district minister magistrate there about the horrific crime
44:01It has taken place a horrific rape incident that has taken place there
44:04The prime minister is in Varanasi to launch various developmental projects will be in fact
44:26Keeping a very close eye on those developments and moving on for the time being
