00:0026.11 Mumbai terror key plotter handed over to India
00:14Captain Tahawar Hussain Rana handed over by the US to NIA
00:22Ex-Pakistan army terrorist being brought to India on board a special flight
00:30The Pakistani military jihad complex planned to target Siddhi Vinayak Temple and National Defence College
00:51Pakistani terrorists and enablers had mapped sensitive locations across multiple cities in India
01:00Will Captain Tahawar Hussain Rana spill the beans exposing Pakistan's military jihad nexus
01:14Big win for India in the war on Pakistan state-sponsored radical Islamist terror and that's our top focus on 5 Live
01:32Pakistan Army's Captain Tahawar Hussain Rana had not only arranged logistics and funds
01:44He also arranged cover for the Pakistani American terrorist David Coleman Hedley
01:48In the run-up to 26.11 Mumbai terror attacks
01:52He'd also carried out reconnaissance missions that visited multiple sites in India
01:57Including the Siddhi Vinayak Temple and the National Defence College in Delhi
02:02In Delhi with Siddhi with Siddhi and Siddhi
02:05So these white-collared Pakistani terrorists had been instructed by the founder of Lashkar Rai Taiba
02:12Hafiz Mohammed Sahib, a UN designated terrorist
02:16To identify potential targets across India
02:20Because they wanted to repeatedly strike India
02:24They wanted to repeatedly bleed India
02:26Investigators learnt that even Siddhi Vinayak Mandir in Mumbai
02:30And the National Defence College in Delhi were on their radar
02:33David Coleman Hedley incidentally
02:35Had bought kalawa from the Siddhi Vinayak Mandir
02:38And all this information came out in that Chicago courtroom
02:41And the Federal Bureau of Investigation tried them
02:43The 10 Pakistani terrorists
02:45They not only had Hindu names and identity cards
02:48They were also wearing kalawa
02:50In an attempt perhaps to pass it off as Hindu terror
02:54So that entire bogey of Hindu terror had many takers in Pakistan
02:59Will those questions be answered?
03:01There are many, many questions
03:03Perhaps the interrogation of Tahvar Hussain Rana
03:06Will reveal this link of Pakistan's state
03:10Pakistan's quasi-state
03:12Elements like Lashkar Rai Taiba Jaisya Mohammed
03:15And the elements in India
03:18Working in tandem to bleed India
03:21We track that story very, very closely
03:23I'm Gaurav Sawant as always

05:12The 2611 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008
05:15Finally, there's a glimmer of hope
05:19There is hope that justice for the victims of 2611 Mumbai terror attacks
05:24May just be within reach
05:25The mastermind
05:27One of the key plotters of 2611 Mumbai terror attacks
05:30Tahavar Hussain Rana is being extradited to India
05:34He will arrive in India soon
05:36He was one of the key plotters
05:38He had repeatedly visited India
05:40He's an ex-Pakistan army captain
05:43He was living in Canada
05:45Had a Canadian passport
05:46Along with that Pakistani American terrorist
05:49David Coleman Headley
05:50Using their American and Canadian passports
05:53They repeatedly visited India
05:55Set up a company in India for immigration
05:58Carried out reconnaissance missions
06:00In Mumbai
06:01In Pune
06:02In Ahmedabad
06:03In Delhi
06:04And several other locations
06:06Finally
06:07Rana is being brought to India
06:09He'll be interrogated
06:10Perhaps you will know
06:12Who were the sleeper cells
06:13Who assisted them
06:14Where all did they carry out their reconnaissance missions
06:17Where all did they intend to bleed India
06:19Because 2611 was just one of the many terror attacks
06:23That Hafiz Mohammed Saeed
06:24And Pakistani state had planned to bleed India
06:28They know about potential targets and future targets
06:31Much more during the course of the next half hour
06:33But first
06:34This report
06:45Tahabur Rana, one of the key conspirators
06:47Behind the 2611 terror attack in Mumbai
06:50Is extradited from the United States
06:53Rana is set to arrive in India Thursday morning
06:56Escorted by a team of intelligence and investigative officials
07:00The terrorist is being brought in a special plane
07:04Which will stop at an undisclosed location
07:07En route to New Delhi
07:08High security arrangements are in place at Jays
07:11In both Delhi and Mumbai
07:13Rana, a Pakistani origin Canadian businessman
07:16Was an active operative of the Lashkar-e-Taiba
07:19He helped David Headley, allies Daud Gilani
07:22With travel documents for his reconnaissance of Mumbai targets
07:25India Today accessed the NIHR sheet
07:29That Rabiz, Headley and Rana spoke over 200 times
07:32During Headley's eight visits to India
07:35Before the 2611 attacks
07:37David Headley too played a pivotal role in planning the attacks
07:41In June 2006, Headley applied for an Indian visa with Rana's help
07:45Arriving in Mumbai on September 14, 2006
07:49In June 2007, Headley extended his visa for 10 years with Rana's assistance
07:57Rana was in Mumbai from November 11 to 21 in 2008
08:01And lefty country just stays before terrorists from Pakistan
08:04Launched attacks at various locations in India's financial capital
08:09Rana faces charges of waging war against India
08:12Murder, forgery and criminal conspiracy
08:15Today I'm pleased to announce that my administration has approved
08:20The extradition of one of the plotters
08:22And one of the very evil people of the world
08:25And having to do with the horrific
08:292008 Mumbai terrorist attack
08:33To face justice in India
08:35So he's going to be going back to India to face justice
08:40Now almost two decades later
08:43The mastermind is back on Indian soil
08:46And every Indian has one thing on their mind
08:49Justice
08:50Vera Report, India Today
08:53So let me tell you a little more about this white collar terrorist from Pakistan
09:03He's an ex-Pakistan army officer
09:05He was a doctor in the Pakistan army
09:07He was at the Siachen Glacier
09:11Then he jumped ship
09:13He went off to Canada
09:14He took Canadian citizenship
09:16And was a Lashkar-e-Taiba sleeper cell in Canada
09:19And this is where countries like Canada and the US need to be very wise
09:22David Coleman Headley was a Lashkar-e-Taiba sleeper cell in the United States
09:27Tahavur Hussain Rana was a sleeper cell in Canada
09:31He knew about the 2611 Mumbai terror attacks
09:34Or the plot to target Mumbai
09:36Multiple locations in Mumbai
09:37Right from 2005
09:39That's when the plot was hatched
09:41He provided logistics, financial support and cover to people like David Coleman Headley
09:48And I wonder how many others from Pakistan
09:51Who used this America and Canada route to come to India
09:54Set up a business in India
09:56And recce prominent places
09:58And they made very powerful friends in India
10:00We know about some
10:01Unfortunately we don't know about many others
10:03I hope that information finally comes out
10:05So he collaborated with terrorists like David Coleman Headley
10:09With Rehman and Ilyas Kashmiri
10:12For future attacks
10:13Post 2611
10:15They wanted to carry out more terror attacks
10:17That was Hafiz Saeed's instruction to them
10:19Now David Coleman Headley had persuaded Rana
10:22To meet Rehman in Dubai
10:25And he helped Headley get a visa
10:27A multiple entry visa to India
10:30Used his Chicago office
10:32And that was he set up this first world immigration company in Chicago
10:36With an office in Mumbai
10:37And that gave him the cover
10:39To carry out reconnaissance in India
10:42He provided exact details like coordinates
10:46GPS coordinates
10:48To the Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists
10:51And ISI about where Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus was
10:54Where Cafe Leopold was
10:55Where Ville Parle was
10:57Where Taj Hotel was
10:58Where Nareman Point was
11:00And these were exactly the places
11:02That were targeted
11:03By the Pakistani terrorists
11:05And he and David Coleman Headley
11:07Operated in tandem
11:08Took instructions directly
11:10From Hafiz Mohamed Saeed
11:12And a certain major Iqbal
11:14Of the Pakistan ISI
11:17The Narendra Modi government
11:19Has relentlessly been pursuing
11:21The extradition of Captain Tahvar Hussain Rana
11:23From the US to India
11:24Remember both Rana and Headley
11:26Were tried
11:27In US
11:28But let off
11:29In 2016
11:30White terror attacks case
11:31They were convicted
11:32In the Copenhagen
11:34Terror attack case
11:35But his interrogation
11:36Is more than just
11:37An academic exercise
11:38Hafiz Saeed
11:39Like I said
11:40Wanted to continue
11:41Bleeding India
11:42He wanted to inflict
11:43More than a thousand cuts
11:44On India
11:45And these educated
11:46White collar terrorists
11:47Like Tahvar Hussain Rana
11:48And David Headley
11:49And I wonder
11:50How many other secret weapons
11:51Did Pakistan have in India
11:53They were recruiting
11:54Sleeper cells in India
11:55With his arrest
11:56Perhaps the big fish
11:57Will be nailed
11:58But the bigger question
11:59Will bigger fish in Pakistan
12:01Like Hafiz Mohamed Saeed
12:02And Pakistan army
12:03And ISI officers
12:04Will they be nailed
12:05Joining me on this special broadcast
12:06Nalini Singh
12:07Legal editor
12:08India today
12:09On what
12:10The Tahvar Hussain Rana
12:11Papers will leave
12:12Gita Mohan
12:13The foreign affairs editor
12:14Of India today
12:15On the diplomatic effort
12:16To secure his release
12:17Ambassador Rajiv Dogra
12:18Former top diplomat
12:20Joins us on the show
12:21He served in Pakistan
12:22Sushant Sareen
12:23Is senior fellow
12:24The Observer Research Foundation
12:25And Munir Ahmed
12:26Is a analyst
12:27And a journalist
12:28Who joins us from Pakistan
12:29But Nalini
12:30I want to understand
12:31The legal position first
12:32Right now
12:33The 64 year old
12:34Pakistani terrorist
12:35Is shivering like a leaf
12:36He doesn't want to be
12:37Extradited to India
12:38Because he says
12:39That he's a Muslim
12:40Of Pakistani origin
12:41He may not survive in India
12:44He may be tortured in India
12:46But that time
12:47There are documents
12:48That reveal
12:49That he was celebrating
12:50After 26-11
12:51And when 166 people died
12:53He was celebrating
12:54And he wanted
12:55Pakistan's highest award
12:56To be given
12:57To those 10 terrorists
12:58What do these documents reveal?
12:59Nalini
13:00Well Gaurav
13:02What we need to understand
13:04Is that
13:05What a key role
13:06Tahvar Hussain Rana
13:07Actually plays
13:08Not only in the 26-11 attacks
13:10But in the entire planning
13:11That was done
13:12By the L.A.T.
13:13To create
13:14Terran in India
13:15And Tahvar Hussain Rana
13:16Is a key link
13:17Between the L.A.T.
13:18As well as
13:19David Hedley
13:20Because it was on
13:21The instructions of
13:22Hafiz Saeed
13:23Why Tahvar Hussain Rana
13:24Was providing the logistical
13:25And the financial support
13:26To David Hedley
13:27While he was in India
13:28Along with that
13:29Tahvar Hussain Rana
13:30Was so closely linked
13:32To the entire 26-11 terror plot
13:34That almost 200 times
13:36During the 8th visit
13:38That Hedley made to India
13:39Tahvar Hussain Rana
13:40Spoke to him on the phone
13:41It wasn't just through the phone
13:42In fact
13:43Through emails
13:44There were regular correspondences
13:46Between David Hedley
13:47And Tahvar Hussain Rana
13:48And they continuously
13:49Kept changing their email IDs
13:51And also using coded language
13:52In their emails
13:53So that there is no red flag
13:55On the system of any security agency
13:57In fact it's interesting
13:58To note that
13:59Tahvar Hussain Rana himself
14:00Was in India
14:01Not just in India
14:02In Mumbai
14:03From the 11th of November 2008
14:05Till the 21st of November 2008
14:07Which was just 5 days
14:08Before the attacks
14:09Had actually taken place
14:11And from the time
14:12That David Hedley
14:13Had stepped his foot
14:14On Indian soil
14:15It was Tahvar Hussain Rana's
14:17Contacts and his people
14:18In India
14:19Who were providing
14:20All of the logistical support
14:21To David Hedley
14:22To help him
14:23Carry out his activities
14:24So the kind of role
14:25That is played by
14:26Tahvar Hussain Rana
14:27In this entire case
14:28Is apparent from the fact
14:29That right from the trial court
14:30In the United States
14:31Right up until the Supreme Court
14:33Each and every court
14:34Has refused to not just
14:36Stop his extradition
14:37But even stay his extradition
14:39During the time
14:40His habeas corpus is spending
14:41Which means
14:42That there has been
14:43Absolutely a watertight case
14:44That has been made out
14:45By the prosecutors
14:46To ensure
14:47That Tahvar Hussain Rana
14:48Can be brought back
14:49To India
14:50Can be tried for his crimes
14:51And the victims
14:52Of 2611
14:53And the entire country
14:54Of India
14:55Can finally expect
14:56Some justice in the case
14:57Oh absolutely
14:58Geeta
14:59Does that message
15:00Go out loud and clear
15:01Because you have been
15:02Tracking the story
15:03Diplomatically
15:04The government
15:05Has been trying for years
15:06To ensure he is released
15:08And there must have been
15:10Multiple hurdles to cross
15:11Before the day
15:13That he is finally being
15:14Sent back to India
15:15Geeta
15:16Well this is indeed
15:17A diplomatic win
15:18For the Modi administration
15:19Gaurav
15:20If not anything else
15:21Because like Nalini just pointed out
15:24He was acquitted
15:25In the 2611 case
15:26And it was only later
15:28That when the extradition request
15:30Was put in
15:31And an appeal was filed
15:33By Tahvar Hussain Rana
15:35To stop the extradition
15:36That the court said
15:37That there is additional information
15:39That has been provided
15:40By the Indian side
15:42And therefore the extradition went through
15:44And this is not just one administration
15:47Two consecutive governments
15:49In Washington D.C.
15:51Have agreed to extradite Tahvar Hussain Rana
15:55And it was only a matter of process
15:56So a huge diplomatic win
15:58In many ways than one
15:59And look at the manner
16:01In which it was expedited
16:02Not just that the Biden administration agreed
16:05And there was a process in place
16:07Donald Trump actually announced it
16:10In the White House
16:11That there is a man
16:12This very bad man
16:13Terrorist
16:14Who will be sent back
16:16And we are sending him back
16:17Or we are sending him to India
16:18So the extradition was announced
16:20By none other than
16:21The President of the United States of America
16:23And since then
16:24We have only seen a very smooth process
16:26Of rejections for Tahvar Hussain Rana
16:29And extradition of
16:31The request of extradition
16:33For Tahvar Hussain Rana to India
16:34So we will be seeing him in India
16:36Soonest
16:37And then
16:38The real case
16:39Having one person here in India
16:41Against all those actors in Pakistan
16:44Could also start
16:46Very interesting link
16:48That you point out
16:49Sushant Sareen
16:50The fact that this terrorist
16:53Was the crucial link
16:55Between the ten terrorists
16:56Who targeted Mumbai
16:58The locations that had been targeted in India
17:00And the orders that came from
17:02The likes of Major Iqbal
17:04A certain Major Iqbal
17:05Of Pakistan's ISI
17:06And Hafiz Mohammed Said directly
17:08What more can you tell us about
17:10Why this is more than just an academic exercise
17:13The sleeper cells in India
17:15The sleeper cells in India
17:16And the Reki that he had carried out
17:18What more can you tell us Sushant Sareen
17:20So Gaurav, we will have to see
17:22What is the kind of information he shucks up
17:25And how much of it is going to be relevant
17:27Because some of those guys might not be alive anymore
17:30Some of them might be outside the long arm of the law in India
17:34But even then
17:36I think the fact that Tahour Rana was an integral part of that conspiracy
17:41To carry out the 26-11 attacks
17:44Makes him an extremely valuable person for India to have extradited
17:51And visit justice upon him
17:54Also I think we will get to learn a lot more
17:57Of how the networks in India operate
17:59Also the fact that in many cases
18:02The Pakistanis have already picked up targets
18:05Have already made their plans
18:07As is evident from the 26-11 attacks
18:09That they took about three years
18:11Before they finally put the attack
18:13The plan in motion
18:15So there must be other targets
18:17And we have to see if there are some other such targets
18:20Which they have identified
18:22Secondly, I think what it does is
18:24It debunks that nonsensical propaganda
18:27Including by third-rate air marshals
18:29From the Pakistan Air Force
18:31Who have been writing articles
18:32Questioning what exactly happened on 26-11
18:35And of course, senior so-called Pakistani journalists
18:38Who have been asking about 26-11
18:41The real truth
18:42I think this guy is a walking, talking example
18:46Of the real truth that is going to come pouring out
18:48Third, I think this is important
18:51Not just the fact that he has been extradited
18:54But can we make this a precedent for more extradition
18:58From the civilized world
19:00But equally important
19:01I think it is important for India
19:03To make certain changes in law
19:05To start holding trials in absentia of Pakistan
19:09Or Bangladesh or some other country
19:11Which harbors these terrorists
19:13To start holding trials in absentia for some of these people
19:17And even pronounce punishments
19:19And perhaps explore ways and means
19:22Of carrying out those punishments
19:24By whatever means are necessary
19:26In the countries in which they are speaking
19:28So that there are no safe havens
19:30For terrorists who come and commit mass murder in India
19:32That's a very important point
19:35And perhaps with this extradition, Ambassador Dogra
19:38Does that message go out?
19:40It may take years, it may take decades
19:43But if you are a terrorist who has been involved in killing innocent Indians
19:47India will trace you, India will track you
19:50And India will bring you to justice
19:53Like India intends to do with Tahavur Hussain Rana
19:57Well, absolutely
19:58And you know, as I was mentioning earlier
20:01Ajmal Kasab was a foot soldier
20:06He knew nothing except for shooting at people
20:10Rana is the first real villain and mastermind of 2611
20:15That has come to India's home
20:19What he reveals would certainly be a major plus for Indian security agencies
20:26More than that, what surprises me
20:29Is how come a person of Pakistani origin could establish an office in India with such ease?
20:38Not only that, how come a person of Pakistani origin like Hedley get 10 year visa?
20:44Yes
20:45I know from my experience
20:46Yes
20:47That for a Pakistani origin person
20:49Getting even a 10 day visa is next to impossible
20:54Even if he is an American or a Canadian passport holder?
20:57Exactly
20:58Exactly
20:59We go into minute details as to where he was born
21:03Why is he wanting to go to India and so on
21:06It is reciprocal
21:07Pakistan is much more rigorous in this respect
21:11So for him to get that 10 year visa is like climbing the Mount Everest
21:17Yet he apparently did it with relative ease
21:20The fact that he got visas and set up a company in Mumbai
21:24Perhaps that question will finally be answered
21:26Who were the facilitators in India Ambassador Dogra?
21:29Exactly
21:30Exactly
21:31Who were the facilitators wherever they were for such a major visa lapse
21:38The second thing is that Rana's role has been understated
21:44It has been unacknowledged and is relatively unknown compared to what Hedley has been accused of
21:51And what Hedley did
21:52Whereas Rana is equally culpable because he had wrecked India
21:57He had wrecked the places where ultimately that carnage took place
22:02So I think more needs to be brought out as you are doing and as your channel is doing
22:07About what Rana's intentions were, what his planning was
22:12And how villainous his role was in the entire operation
22:16Because with this Pakistani army background
22:18Absolutely
22:19I am sure he was more dirty collar than white collar in this entire operation
22:25Sir, I had covered Tahwar Hussein Rana's trial in Chicago and David Coleman Headley
22:30And information that came out was shocking
22:33The FBI had carried out a detailed investigation
22:35They tracked their car, both Headley and Rana
22:38They wouldn't talk in their house
22:40So they knew that even FBI could be snooping on them
22:43They would get into their car and they would drive
22:46And then they would talk in a moving vehicle
22:48But the FBI was a step ahead
22:50They had put listening devices in that car
22:53And they would track that car and listen to that conversation
22:56Which was played out in court
22:58And all this information came out in that Chicago Federal Court
23:01Munir
23:02Since you've joined us from Pakistan
23:04I want to understand from you sir
23:05A Pakistan army captain
23:07Living in Canada
23:09Plots a terror attack in India
23:11Is in touch with a certain major Iqbal
23:13And with Hafiz Said
23:15And with Ilyas Kashmiri
23:16And several others
23:18Do we expect Pakistan to take action
23:20Against any information that's revealed by him?
23:24Either earlier in Chicago or now in India?
23:27Thank you first of all for taking me to your show
23:33And this would be my own personal opinion
23:37As a geopolitical analyst
23:39First of all I believe like when he is a Canadian national
23:43He is no more a Pakistani national
23:46And like if some has been a Pakistani national
23:49And now adopted another nationality
23:52And whatever he is doing
23:54He may be like it's his own capacity
23:59And does not represent Pakistan
24:05This is the first point
24:08And second is like I really sympathize
24:12Whatever happened in that incident
24:15Because 166 lives were gone you know
24:19And those were the human beings of course
24:25Even we cry for the animals as well
24:28And this is the heinous crime
24:31And it should be investigated
24:33And when it is sort of like when you blame some other country
24:39I think there should be some independent judicial trial
24:46Federal Bureau of Investigation is not Indian
24:49Manir
24:50You either need to read up when you come on the show
24:52I'm sorry you need to read up
24:54I don't have time to waste
24:55You need to read up
24:56Federal Bureau of Investigation is an American agency
24:59It carried out an investigation
25:01It found out that this man was involved in a terror attack
25:04It found out of a certain major Ilyas in Pakistan
25:07It found out about a certain Hafiz Muhammad Said
25:09And it implicated Pakistan's ISI
25:11Is that independent enough for you?
25:13And this happened not now
25:15But at least a decade earlier
25:17Is that independent enough for you sir?
25:19You are true
25:20India does not want Pakistani platitudes
25:22We want action on terror
25:23Do we expect it?
25:25Excuse me
25:27Until proven guilty
25:29In real terms
25:30Then you cannot, you know
25:33Blame Pakistan
25:35Oh absolutely
25:36And that's exactly why
25:37If you blame Pakistan
25:39That's exactly why
25:40For example
25:41Hafiz Muhammad Said
25:42Who is a UN designated global terrorist
25:44Leading a UN designated banned terrorist organization
25:47Can continue to lead the Eid Namaz
25:49At the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore
25:51And Pakistanis say
25:53Oh he is not convicted
25:54It's okay
25:55Munir
25:56Seriously
25:57No wonder Pakistan
25:58Is treated as an international terror center
26:00So
26:01So Gaurav
26:02So Gaurav
26:03I was just making some talking points
26:06First Sushant and then Munir
26:08So Gaurav I was just making some talking points
26:10And one of the first things
26:11Which I had written down
26:12As a jotting point
26:13And this reflects the insincerity
26:16And the dissemble
26:17Which is being indulged by your Pakistani guests
26:20He is pretending that he is very sincere
26:22That his heart is weeping
26:24Because so many people were killed
26:26But actually he celebrates the death of people in India
26:29But my point
26:30The point which I had written was
26:31The Pakistanis will deny
26:33And claim that he is a Canadian or an American
26:35Right?
26:36This is a standard operating procedure
26:38By all these ISI linked hacks inside Pakistan
26:42This is their standard form of denial
26:44And plausible deniability
26:46That they maintain
26:47That's point number one
26:48Secondly
26:49You talk about Hafiz Saeed
26:50Incidentally
26:51Let me just join issue with
26:52Ambassador Dogra
26:53Who is saying that
26:54You know
26:55How come this guy was given a 10 year visa to India
26:58Sir we have given 10 year visas to Pakistanis
27:01Third rate Pakistani analysts
27:03Who come and pretend that they are very friendly
27:05And look for friendly relations with India
27:07We have given them multiple entry visas
27:10For many many years
27:11What are you talking about
27:13These fellows
27:14Who are unknown quantities living in the west
27:16We have done that to Pakistanis
27:17If you want names
27:18I will give you names out here
27:19But on Hafiz Saeed Gaurav
27:21Look
27:22This man has been already convicted
27:24Now this gentleman from Pakistanis today
27:26Until they have been proven guilty
27:28Sajid Mir
27:29Who these guys said had died
27:31Had been buried
27:32Was dug up from his grave
27:34Shaisalai
27:36Shaisalai
27:37Shaisalai
27:38May I say something
27:39Like if these are the things
27:40You would
27:41I would like you to
27:42But only if you are giving us some
27:43And the Pakistani authorities have also grabbed like several
27:47What conditions under which Hafiz Saeed is living
27:51Because apparently he is in jail
27:53But he is free to be moving around
27:55So this is the kind of prison system which they have set
27:58Which is basically an eye wash to the international community
28:01Which had been leaning on them to act against these internationally designated terrorists
28:06The Pakistanis do not want to do it because these are assets of the Pakistani state
28:10So if you expect
28:11It is not a matter of which government
28:16It is basically like when we see in Pakistan there are so many terrorist activities for long years
28:25And we have been suffering from those terrorist activities
28:28And whenever the clues are found by the agencies of Pakistan it comes like the raw agents
28:36And we have Pakistani authorities have also
28:39Is that your response?
28:40And this is the cross border
28:42Excuse me
28:43This is the cross border
28:44No, no, hold on, hold on
28:45Do you understand why Pakistan is treated like an international terror epicenter?
28:50Any terror attack across the world is linked back to Pakistan
28:54You know why your passport is amongst the worst in the world?
28:57Why Pakistanis are strip searched virtually across the world?
29:00Because Pakistan defends terror
29:02Because Pakistan refuses to condemn terror
29:04Because Pakistan celebrates terror
29:06Like this chap the Havar Hussain Rana
29:08Excuse me
29:09Who was celebrating with whiskey
29:10Which is haram in your religion
29:11Excuse me
29:12He was celebrating with scotch whiskey
29:13Saying give national awards
29:15Excuse me
29:16It is a narrative built up by those who were against Pakistan
29:21Since the day of its inception
29:23And I believe that we need to take more carefully such kind of cross border issues
29:30And it cannot be resolved by blaming
29:33And by such kind of, you know, incidents
29:37It should be dealt bilaterally
29:40By sitting together
29:41By negotiating together
29:42Sitting with a terror sponsor?
29:44If there are such kind of things
29:45A terror victim does not sit with a terror sponsor
29:47Not even when you come with a begging bowl next time
29:50I am sorry
29:51Punish terrorists first
29:53Perhaps Ambassador Dogra
29:54That is the language that India
29:56As it is clearly currently speaking
29:59You want good ties with India?
30:01You would take action against terrorists
30:02But Ambassador Dogra
30:03I think Ambassador Jai…
30:04Foreign Minister Jai Shankar
30:06Was absolutely right
30:07When he said terror
30:08And bigotry is in their DNA
30:10Or words to that effect
30:12He was absolutely…
30:17Ambassador Dogra
30:18And then I am coming to you Munir
30:19He was absolutely right
30:21And not only…
30:22The Indian Foreign Minister is saying that
30:25The entire world is repeating that
30:27That Pakistan is the base, the home
30:31And the provider for all terror activities in the world
30:34The British Prime Minister said
30:3670% of all terror activities in the world
30:39Have their origin in Pakistan
30:41But let me make two other quick points
30:44Number one
30:45Did your Pakistani guest compare loss of human and animal lives
30:49In the same sentence?
30:51That would be shocking if that is true
30:53Second…
30:54That's their thinking
30:55Go on sir
30:56Second…
30:57Second…
30:58As far as visas are concerned
31:00We cannot compare visas to a terrorist
31:03Or terrorist accomplices with other visas
31:07I don't know the background to what Sushant is saying
31:10Sushant is a good young friend
31:12And he must be correct as to some journalists who may have been given visas
31:17But I am talking about a terrorist who plotted the death of over 160 Indian people
31:25Who was given a visa to establish an office here
31:28Who was given a visa to his colleague for 10 years
31:32And this is literally unprecedented
31:35Whatever may be the reason
31:37This needs to be looked into
31:39As to who facilitated them
31:41And as you said very rightly
31:43The Indian connection in Mumbai
31:45Or elsewhere in India
31:46Also needs to be looked into
31:48On the basis of the fresh evidence
31:50That interrogation provides us with this Rana
31:55And Sushant, before I bring in Munir
31:57I really want you to respond to this
31:59Very well… you know, well-heeled people in Mumbai
32:02They were wining and dining
32:04This so-called blue-eyed, white American looking
32:07Pakistani American terrorist called David Coleman Headley
32:10Of course, give them the benefit of the doubt
32:12They didn't know that he was a terrorist then
32:14But even subsequently
32:16All these elements who engage with the Pakistanis
32:19Who come to India
32:21Go back and then abuse India
32:23Perhaps somewhere down the line
32:24This Tahawar Hussain Rana and David Coleman Headley case
32:27Should make it very clear
32:29If you abuse India
32:31You are unwelcome in India
32:33You may what?
32:34They may beg for Indian aid
32:36They may beg for Indian food
32:37And oil and electricity
32:39And God alone knows what
32:40And then they go back and abuse India
32:42Whether it's on Kashmir or any other issue
32:44It's unacceptable in new India
32:46So Sushant, perhaps that message
32:47Needs to go out loud and clear
32:48After Tahawar Hussain Rana's interrogation
32:52Gaurav, let me again join issue with you on this one
32:55You know, you are trying to give
32:56Some kind of a clean chat to some of those guys
32:58Some of those guys who were wining and dining with David Headley
33:01And I might have agreed with you
33:03But also remember that some of those same people
33:06Whose family members were hand in glove with David Headley
33:08In one form or another
33:10Were also sitting in press conferences
33:12And saying that what happened on 2611 was an RSS conspiracy
33:16Or have you forgotten that?
33:18So if these guys, their hands were so clean
33:22They would not have done something as treacherous as that
33:26Or as treasonous as that
33:28So forget about these low lives living in Bombay
33:30And these Bollywoodia types
33:32Who were doing what they were doing
33:34But I think on the larger point
33:36Gaurav, you and I agree
33:37Perhaps Ambassador Drogra also agrees with us
33:39But the fact of the matter is that
33:41Some of those so-called journalists
33:43Who we were giving these visas to
33:45And we were welcoming and fading out here
33:47Are not people who came with a clean heart
33:49And this gentleman out here
33:51Who shows his upbringing and his mental makeup
33:54When he says killing of Hindus and killing of animals
33:57He puts on the same pedestal
33:58And then his heart weeps
34:00So forget about this character
34:01But these kind of guys would say that
34:04You know we should sit down
34:05We should talk about it
34:07We should have a dialogue
34:08We tried it
34:09We formed a joint anti-terror mechanism
34:11What happened with that?
34:12We gave them information about terrorists
34:14Being in a certain place
34:16You know what they used to do?
34:17They used to take that information
34:19Then work backwards
34:20Number one, tell the terrorists
34:21That you run away from here
34:23We will do a raid
34:24And say we found nobody out here
34:26This is the kind of double games
34:27They have been playing
34:28They did this not only with us
34:29They have done this with the Americans
34:31They have done it with everybody else
34:33So if you think that
34:34These Pakistanis are going to come clean
34:37That you can have a dialogue with them
34:39That you can have peaceful coexistence with them
34:42Sir, give me a moment
34:43I quickly want to cut across
34:44And listen in to the Ministry of External Affairs
34:45The Ministry of External Affairs
34:46On Tahawar Hussein Rana's extradition
34:49So, Ayoshi your question regarding
34:52What was discussed between
34:53External Affairs Minister
34:54And the US Secretary of State
35:00He discussed several issues
35:02We also had put out
35:06Put out the discussion points
35:08That included
35:09Conversation on West Asia
35:13Regional development
35:14Some international development
35:15Then also discussed the importance of
35:17Early conclusion of bilateral trade agreement
35:20So, that was more or less the
35:23What comprised the discussion between the two leaders
35:27Keshav on Bangladesh
35:28On the transshipment
35:31This was a facility that was extended to Bangladesh in 2020
35:38The Transshipment Facility
35:39The Transshipment Facility
35:43Major development taking place right now
35:45External Affairs Minister
35:46Dr. S. Jaishankar
35:47Is meeting the Union Home Minister
35:48Amit Shah
35:49National Security Advisor
35:50Ajit Doval is also a part of this meeting
35:51And this is happening in Northrop
35:53Just ahead of the extradition of Tahawar Hussein Rana
35:55From the United States to India
35:57We are told that this key security huddle is taking place
36:00Just ahead of Rana's extradition
36:01This is very, very crucial
36:03Tahawar Hussein Rana
36:04As a last-ditch attempt to avoid being extradited to India
36:08Had submitted before the Chief Justice
36:10In the United States of America
36:12In the Supreme Court
36:13Saying that the President
36:14Is a part of this meeting
36:15Is a part of this meeting
36:16And this is happening in Northrop
36:17Just ahead of the extradition
36:18Of Tahawar Hussein Rana
36:19From the United States to India
36:20We are told that this key security huddle
36:22Is taking place just ahead of Rana's extradition
36:24This is very, very crucial
36:26Tahawar Hussein Rana
36:27As a last-ditch attempt
36:29To avoid being extradited to India
36:30Saying he's a Muslim
36:32He's of Pakistani origin
36:34And in case he's sent to India
36:36It's almost akin to signing his death warrant
36:40Or words to that effect
36:42Of course that's clearly not true
36:44Considering the lifestyle that people have in Indian prisons
36:48Even Ajmal Amir Kassab
36:50Had a fair trial
36:53A free and fair trial in Indian court
36:56And there you see images
36:57Both of External Affairs Minister
36:59Dr. S. Jai Shankar
37:01And National Security Advisor Ajit Doval
37:03In that meeting
37:05Going for that meeting
37:06With the Union Home Minister
37:07Amit Shah
37:08I quickly want to cut across
37:09To India Today's
37:11Jitendra Bahadur Singh
37:12My colleague Jitendra Bahadur Singh
37:13joins us for more on this
37:15Jitendra
37:16If you want to see
37:17If you want to see
37:18If you want to see
37:19Thank you very much.
37:49Thank you very much.
38:19Thank you very much.
41:34And who are the sleeper cells in India because these terrorists wanted to strike according
41:41to information that was revealed, the Siddhi Vinayak Temple in Mumbai, the National Defense
41:45College in Delhi and there were multiple other vital assets and vital points that these Pakistanis
41:51wanted to target. I hope all that information comes out in public domain and we'll be tracking
41:55that story very, very closely. Ambassador Dogra, Sushant Sareen and Munir Khan for joining me on
42:01this India Today special broadcast. Merry thanks and Munir, I sincerely hope Pakistan wakes up and
42:06takes action against these terrorists. Otherwise, perhaps there are those unknown gunmen in Pakistan
42:10who will continue to float around. Come its rising tensions following the violence in
42:15Murshidabad in West Bengal, India Today has obtained a video, video footage of a very provocative
42:22statement made during an anti-Wakf Bill rally. Now, this rally which was organised by the Imam
42:30Muazzin Association and was supported by various organisations and social welfare groups in
42:35Bengal has been characterised as inflammatory. There were inflammatory speeches that were made and
42:43there was anti-national sloganeering in this rally according to information that we've been able to
42:50receive through our reporters on ground. Protesters blocked the national highway when they carried out
42:54their demonstration against the Wakf Bill. Police of course used force to disperse the crowd. They cleared
42:59the blockade but the situation spiralled out of control. What followed was massive unrest that
43:05intensified as rioters threw stones at the police and set police vehicles on fire. In retaliation,
43:11the authorities fired tear gas shells, used lathe charge in an attempt to regain control of the
43:18situation. But during these protests, the rioters, they raised anti-India slogans. They issued threats to
43:25Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The protests then turned violent and the
43:30volatile situation there is, is, is still tense but simmering. Tension is simmering in that area.
43:38Listen in.
43:57Thank you very much.
44:27I'm not
44:33Oh
44:49Oh
44:57foreign
45:11foreign
45:27a peaceful protest is okay but inciting a mob and then targeting a police vehicle and then
45:39setting a police vehicle on fire and then hurling anti-national slogans is that acceptable form of
45:45protest by these protesters in the name of protesting against the vakf law we'll track
45:51that story closely but for the moment i want to cut across to bangladesh because
45:54a spark neglected actually burns the house look at what's happening in bangladesh
45:58internet outlets of international brands such as bata kfc pizza hut puma they've been vandalized
46:05and looted in bangladesh thousands of these radical islamists took to the streets to protest against
46:11israel so they're protesting against israel they are protesting in favor of palestinians but looting
46:17a bata store chappal chura ke kya protest hota is the big question that's being asked now chief
46:22advisor to bangladesh government mohammad yunus he's claiming there'll be a crackdown but will
46:26there actually be a crackdown especially when the government is being run by jamaite islami and
46:32other radical islamic organizations and that's the big threat not just to people in bangladesh
46:36but to the region
46:37bangladesh erupts again widespread vandalism across multiple cities
46:45cures unfolded on the streets of bangladesh capital dhaka on monday as protests condemning israel's
46:53offensive in gaza turned violent thousands took to the streets in silhet chitogram khulna bashir
47:03hut kumbila and dhaka in solidarity with palestine international chains like kfc puma pata dominoes
47:14and pizza hut were targeted as protesters perceived them to be linked to israel
47:20videos that have gone viral on social media show mobs smashing glass doors of a pata showroom
47:29with bricks before looting shoes by the dozen
47:33another video showed a kfc outlet being damaged with sticks several showrooms of puma and dominoes
47:47were also vandalized swift police action came as bangladesh hosted its first global investment summit
47:56under the regime of mohammad yunus to attract investors amidst an economic downturn
48:03over 70 people have been arrested so far and many more have been booked
48:09bangladesh government's interim chief advisor professor mohammad yunus condemned the violence
48:19he had earlier condemned israel's action on gaza
48:23referring the situation as a human catastrophe
48:27this is also a message that how dr yunus government and the interim government has failed
48:34to curb on these elements who have made bangladesh into total uncertainty and a chaotic situation
48:41post shake hasina's exit bangladesh remain under turbulence and now the radical elements are so free
48:48that they are even attacking the infrastructure the investment the country is in total crumbling
48:55situation this is ashitosh mishra bringing you this report for india today
49:00china will impose 84 percent tariffs on u.s goods from thursday up from 34 percent previously announced
49:16the chinese finance ministry has announced now beijing has filed a lawsuit against the united states
49:22at the world trade organization or the wto challenging washington dc's 50 percent tariff imposition
49:30uh on china 50 percent tariff height uh along with the 34 percent imposition so that makes it 84
49:36even from the american side china has said u.s tariff action seriously violated wto rules calling it a mistake
49:45on top of a mistake and an example of unilateral bullying there's an intense trade war on between the united states of america
49:55and china what will it lead to lots of reactions are coming in the white house has claimed china is seeking a trade deal
50:03but they've asked them to reduce tariff rates for trade talks to happen and for the deal to happen so there's a lot of public posturing
