00:00We looked into the rules and the points for Draymond Green.
00:06Like, that's one thing that I'm really looking at tonight.
00:09The text and the flagrants you're talking about.
00:11So, I had said yesterday inaccurately that my memory served that Draymond had a technical in all games except for game one.
00:20Six technicals.
00:21He did have six incidents, but only four technicals.
00:23Six incidents.
00:24Six incidents.
00:25Four technicals, two flagrants.
00:27Right.
00:28For Draymond.
00:28The two flagrants are moving violations and the four technicals are parking tickets.
00:33Right.
00:34However, if you add up enough of them, they can all lead you to the same court of law.
00:39But you know they're two different categories.
00:41Totally.
00:41Exactly.
00:42But he's halfway home on both of them.
00:44Oh, yeah.
00:45So, two more flagrants, am I accurate?
00:48Yep.
00:49Is a suspension.
00:50Yep.
00:50Four more technicals is a suspension.
00:54Oh, yeah.
00:54And it's only round two.
00:56That's for the whole playoffs.
00:58Right.
00:59So, I don't know if the Warriors are going to get out of this series, but if they do, and you're playing Gobert, I almost have like a hard time believing that, like, you better start planning for Draymond to miss a game if you get to round three.
01:14I don't see him being able to do that.
01:17Right.
01:17I don't either.
01:18Like, I mean...
01:20He's already halfway home after one series.
01:22On both fronts.
01:23Yes.
01:24You know that one flagrant two counts for two.
01:26So, if he gets a flagrant two, that's an automatic ejection.
01:30And it would be four flagrant points, which would mean he would be suspended from the next game as well.
01:35So, if he happens to, I don't know, and maybe this is me being wild in my imagination, let's just say he chokes Rudy Gobert.
01:43Let's just, I mean...
01:44He would never do that.
01:45I think you're right.
01:46I hate when you put stuff like that out there, dude.
01:49He would never do that.
01:51You're right.
01:51Then we gotta fight.
01:53As a hypothetical, if he were to do that, and he were to get a flagrant two, that would be, you're gone.
02:00And, ooh, that's four points.
02:01You're gone again.
02:02You're gone again.
02:03You get to go watch the game while Bob Myers and you are watching the A's game.
02:07Bob Myers could take him to an A's game.
02:09Yeah, exactly.
02:09Perfect.
02:10That's where we are.
02:10This time it's Sacramento, though.
02:12Okay, our buddy Nick Friedle was on the morning roast, and he addressed this.
02:15He did.
02:16He had evil laugh.
02:17And then he addressed the idea of Draymond staying out of trouble.
02:22As far as any conversation with Draymond goes, they just have to hope that he's not going to get pushed into an emotional situation.
02:35And I'll give him credit because I'm sitting there watching Game 7 the other night, and he hits those first two threes.
02:41And, I mean, Carter hit the drip for me again.
02:45But Slater and I, going back for years, we're always like, oh, boy.
02:50Draymond hits that first three, and he is screaming at the other bench.
02:55He is sitting there going, oh, you guys can't touch me.
02:57You're going to leave me wide open?
02:59Guys, Draymond hit those first two shots in Game 7.
03:03He didn't say a word.
03:04He just played.
03:06And that is the best thing that can happen for the Warriors in the next couple weeks.
03:10Okay, that said, he still went out and got a technical later in the game.
03:13Yeah.
03:14For taking a swipe at Fred Van Vliet's head.
03:18And connecting.
03:19And connecting.
03:21Yes, Fred fouled him.
03:22But Draymond then used that as an opportunity to whack Fred in the face.
03:26And then there's this.
03:27Fredell said, look, it's not like the Wolves don't know.
03:31They know what the points are, and they are totally going to go after Draymond in a way that tries to get him to emotionally boil over.
03:41The Timberwolves are going to try to bait Draymond like any other team.
03:45And he has the history with Gobert, and he knows how important he is, especially for the younger group, especially for Steph right now at this stage of his career.
03:54I know it would be a really, really rough bet to bet on Draymond to keep his head in the game throughout the next couple weeks.
04:06But I think that with what's at stake, and with the history between the two guys that's already been in place with Ian Gobert, I think he can actually do it.
04:16And it wouldn't surprise me if he knows going in, if I lose it, it's all over.
04:23And I have no doubt that that's been made clear to him by Kerr and Dunleavy and Steph and all the powers that be.
04:30But I think that will be a gigantic key.
04:34If Draymond keeps his head in this series, then they've got a legit chance to do it.
04:39Okay, so I love that this came up on the show this morning.
04:42I love that Nick talks about it, because I don't, when a lot of people break down this series, and it's because it hasn't started yet, we get all of the sort of cookie-cutter stuff.
04:52Like, well, Anthony Edwards is going to get his, but what about the role players?
04:55And then there's the half-court defense and the half-court offense, and who's going to be hitting threes?
04:59And it's like, okay, kind of yawn.
05:02Like, let's talk about this.
05:05Draymond Green.
05:07Because going into the Rockets series, what did we not know?
05:10We didn't know that Jimmy Butler would miss damn close to two games.
05:13We didn't know Pods would miss a game.
05:15We didn't know GP2 was going to miss a game.
05:17We didn't know all of these adverse things would show up.
05:21And they absolutely could show up as early as tonight with regard to Draymond Green.
05:29And I'm with Nick.
05:30If what you just said were to happen, I think the Warriors are toast.
05:35I do not, he cannot get a flagrant two in this series because he will immediately miss that game and the next one.
05:44And I don't think the Warriors can survive that.
05:46And so, we are at the mercy of Draymond Green keeping his cool.
05:52Again.
05:53And I can't think of a more uncomfortable spot to be.
05:55I get that, but I do think there are different ways you can go about this.
06:00And, you know, let's just say that the Warriors are up two games to one.
06:03And you get into, you know, a late game scenario and the Warriors are up.
06:07They're about to win game four and go up three games to one.
06:10They're up 11 with 2-12 to go.
06:12And he decides to just, I don't know, Mark.
06:15And I'm spitballing here.
06:17But let's just say he goes and chokes Rudy Gobert.
06:19He wouldn't do that.
06:21You're right.
06:22I don't know why I'm so fixated on that.
06:24He would come up with a new, he would never, that's so over the top.
06:28Yeah.
06:29He wouldn't do something like that.
06:30Well, let's just say that he happens to put his arm around Rudy Gobert's neck.
06:34I mean, I don't know what the difference is.
06:36In a non-threatening manner.
06:37If you insist on this absurd analogy or comparison.
06:42Sure, sure.
06:43Go ahead.
06:43But they win the game.
06:45They're up 3-1 and he sits game five.
06:47What could go wrong?
06:51You mean a 3-1 lead?
06:53Yeah.
06:54And then you get suspended for game five?
06:55Uh-huh.
06:57I mean, I can't even.
06:58And then he comes back in game six and like.
07:01I mean, you're, I hear the scenario you're painting.
07:04I just can't imagine it.
07:05I can't imagine it.
07:07I can't imagine that going wrong.
07:08No.
07:08But I do think that of all the things that Draymond is, and I've been more critical of
07:14Draymond than anybody on this station.
07:16Draymond, and apologies to anyone who else thinks that they're in my league, but I would say
07:20that I'm number one in the Draymond critic category.
07:23The one thing that I will give him.
07:25Shasky's mad at you for saying that, but go ahead.
07:27It's fine.
07:27And so is Bonte.
07:28And I'm sure Guru is as well.
07:30But the one thing I will give him his flowers for is awareness of the rules and where he
07:36is on these scales.
07:37He knows where he is on the tech scale and he knows where he is on the flagrant scale.
07:42Well, look, the last time we had what feels to me like a similar conversation was the
07:47beginning of this season.
07:49And, and, and our lines were lined up with people who are like, why the hell would you
07:55now think that Draymond, because he was suspended last year and it quote unquote ruined the year
08:00and the year before that he punched a teammate and it quote unquote ruined the year.
08:05His words.
08:05Why the hell would you think that this year Draymond green would suddenly figure it out,
08:12be thoughtful and stay on the court.
08:16And then what happened?
08:18He figured it out.
08:19He nailed it.
08:20Well, he had 14 texts and he knows that when you get 16, you get suspended.
08:24So I do think that he is aware of all of it.
08:27And he knows that there's times when he wants to get a tech and he said this the other night
08:32and it might've been the playing game or he's like, you know what?
08:35I needed to get a tech right there.
08:36And so I think he's aware of times where he feels like he needs to get a tech.
08:42And as far as him, like going over the line, he didn't do it this year.
08:46This year.
08:47No, he didn't.
08:47He was not going to call him a boy scout.
08:49No, but well, he's always, he's always going to be Draymond green.
08:52Weevilow.
08:53But he nailed it.
08:54Weevilow.
08:55Sorry.
08:55He stayed.
08:57He stayed on the team.
08:58He stayed on the team.
08:59He stayed on the team.
09:00He did not get suspended.
09:01And by the way, 14 technical fouls in a year.
09:03I know for a lot of players, that's a ton for Steph Curry.
09:06It's like a career, but, but like, I'm not bothered usually by technical fouls.
09:12Technical fouls are like, Oh, you talk to the ref for too long.
09:16I get to, you know what I mean?
09:18Like, sure.
09:18You kind of got Fred Van Vliet in the face the other night.
09:21All right.
09:22They called a technical foul.
09:24Usually a technical foul is like on its own.
09:27It's no big deal.
09:29It's no big deal.
09:30Obviously if you get two in a game, it's a big deal.
09:32And now we're in this spot where if he gets four more, he's going to miss an entire game.
09:38So, um, I get that, but yeah, largely I thought Draymond, I thought he really nailed it this
09:45year with regard to this.
09:46Oh yeah.
09:46I thought he crushed it.
09:48Yeah.
09:48I mean, there were no incidents and, uh, there were no times where he got ejected from
09:54a game and it actually cost them the game.
09:56Was that the Charlotte game a couple of years ago?
09:58Grandy, where he got, he got the two texts late and he got ejected and it wasn't late.
10:04It cost him the game.
10:05It was early.
10:06Steph cried last year in Orlando.
10:08Oh, it was Orlando.
10:08Did you just think of a separate game a couple of years ago?
10:10Got it.
10:10He went crazy late and cost them a game that they had already won.
10:14Yeah.
10:14Got it.
10:15Yes.
10:15Yeah.
10:15We're thinking the two cause they want, they won the game where Steph was teared up and
10:20Draymond got kicked out early.
10:21They won the game anyway.
10:22Draymond's meltdowns are like children.
10:24You dislike them all the same.
10:28Maybe it's like children in, in you and your siblings cause there's a bunch of them dibs.
10:32Well, only four of us.
10:33I mean, that's a decent amount.
10:35That's a lot.
10:36It's not, it's not a bunch, but it's a lot.
10:38It's not like Buddy Heald or Spadoni's family.
10:41A lot of kids.
10:43A lot of Spadoni's.
10:43How many is the Spadoni family?
10:4511?
10:46I think.
10:47Oh my God.
10:47I was going to say he was one of seven kids, but it might be more than that.
10:50I don't know.
10:50Oh, Lord.
10:50Oh, I'm going to go over seven.
10:52How do those parents do that?
10:54My Uncle Terry, rest in peace, Uncle Terry, he had, he had kids all over the damn place.
10:59Wow.
11:00If they're not all.
11:00It was like a 35 year age gap though.
11:02It's not like he had 11 kids in 15 years.
11:06He's like, you know what?
11:07Hey, new wife.
11:08Let's put up five on the board.
11:10Was he like Cromarty?
11:11Could he name him or no?
11:12Uh, yeah.
11:13I mean.
11:14If you're like name all your kids, could he do it?
11:16He might not have been able to, but my sister can.
11:19Get the caner on the phone.
11:20Oh yeah, that's different.
11:20She knows all of them.
11:21That's different.
11:22Uncle Terry.
11:23That's different.
11:24Living a double wide.
11:25Women are thoughtful.
11:25Yeah, women are thoughtful like that.
11:28But she wasn't the parent of any of these kids.
11:29It doesn't matter.
11:30She's a woman.
11:30She can do stuff like that.
