The contestants in this episode are Gary Evans & Debbie Hughes from Clewid, Jean Gold & Chris Saunders from Essex, Jim Hulloch & Joanne Burn from Tyne & Wear, and Joan & Gary Day from Middlesex & Surrey. Bruce Forsyth hosts and Rosemary Ford assists as they guide the families through such games as Lassoing, putting on wetsuits, having to present their own cookery show (and cook an omlette at the same time) and guess the foreign voices and match them to their hats. The finale for the final two pairs sees them having to stack trays of drinks on top of others to see who can make the highest tower. Needless to say, it's a very nervy game - and that's just for the viewers! But who will prevail to earn the right to sit at the conveyor belt of prizes?

05:39Well I went to the steelworks
05:41I was told it was very good money
05:42Yeah
05:43And I went there
05:44And I had a huge area of concrete
05:46Oh yeah
05:47And I was told I've got to break up this concrete
05:49Oh
05:50So I was given a jackhammer
05:51Which I'd never operated in my life
05:53Oh what are those
05:54Yes
05:55It was attached to a compressor
05:56Yeah

06:04So 25 minutes
06:05It would have just shot off
06:06You just collapsed
06:07After 25 minutes

06:09I made my way down to the wages office
06:10Like this

06:52The football match on the television
06:53Yeah
06:54So I got my drink in my hand
06:56Went through to the swing doors
06:57And as I pushed outwards
06:59She was coming in
07:00And pushed the other way
07:01Oh no
07:02The drink went all over the front of her brand new dress
07:04All over the front of her dress?
07:05All over
07:06Oh
07:07So you'd only just measure and the drinks were on her
07:08That was quick wasn't it?
07:12Right
07:13We'll pop over there and we'll give you love to Barry
07:16I hope he doesn't get you up if he's content
07:19But there we are nice people though aren't they?
07:21And let's meet our next two who are?

08:09Of course
08:10And nothing happened
08:11Why dear?
08:12We both had our seat belts on
08:16But he asked him if it was as good for him
08:19I like it
08:20I like it
08:21But you know this trouble
08:22You were too quick off the mark you see
08:24You were too
08:25If you'd have gone really slowly you see

12:06Come over here.
12:08There we are.
12:09And put your hats on.
12:10That's right.
12:11If they get in your way during this, just throw them off.
12:12But the bigger the rope, of course, the more difficult it is.
12:14This is why you're going to use a smaller one.
12:16Okay?
12:17So, Alex, just show.
12:18Just show them what we're having to do.
12:19That swivel.
12:20You hold above that swivel.
12:21You see?
12:22That swivel.
12:23Start spinning anti-clockwise.
12:24It's very important.
12:25Anti-clockwise.
12:26Very important, all of you.
12:27Unless you're left-handed, then of course you're clockwise.
12:29And anyway, you do a little bit like this.
12:30A little bit like this.
12:31A little bit like this.
12:32You see?
12:33Then you tap.
12:34And that's it.

12:39A little bit like this.
12:40Right, come here.
12:41Turn around and face the back.
12:43Face the back so you can't see what's going on.
12:45You come down to the front here, my love.
12:46And Alex again will give it to you in the right way.
12:48Then the rest is up to you.
12:49Hold here.
12:50Hold it up.
12:51And start.
12:52Once you get it going, you've got about 15 seconds of this.
12:54But it's loads of time if you can get it going.
12:55Okay?
12:56Away you go.
12:57Anti-clockwise.
12:58Come on, come on, come on.
12:59Come on, come on, come on.
13:01You're not taking the jump for a walk.
13:03Keep it going, keep it going.

13:34I'm holding this.
13:35If you're left, get it in the left hand and go clockwise.
13:39He's a schoolteacher.
13:40He'll do this.
13:41Yeah, now start the other way.
13:42Schoolteacher.

14:41Can I start at that?
14:42No.
14:43Left hand.
14:44That's a swivel.
14:45Hold for that swivel there.
14:46Yeah.
14:47And try and get a good one going.

16:03they're only used for diving in polluted waters.
16:04That's right, Bruce.
16:05Yeah.
16:06Which is practically everywhere these days, with the sound of things.

16:09Dry suits.
16:10I see.
16:11We'll get them all set up.
16:12And what is the command do you want me to give you to...
16:13Well, we use a word called awkward, Bruce.
16:14What's the most strange command?
16:15I mean, where does this come from?
16:16Well, in the Army, Bruce, we have to react quickly to different situations.
16:17So it could happen any time?
16:18Any time, anywhere.
16:19Any place?
16:20Anywhere?
16:21Yeah.

16:44Well, why don't you say martini?
16:45It makes sense to me.
16:48Anyway, I'll give you the command.
16:50Are you ready?
16:51On your marks?
16:52Awkward.
16:53Now, the important thing to watch is when they've got in the first part of this, you see,
17:04they then help each other.
17:06So it's helping each other.
17:08That's why you've got to work as a team.
17:11That could have been nasty, couldn't it?
17:13There we are.
17:14Now, watch this.
17:15See?
17:16There we are.
17:17Now, the other way.
17:18You see?
17:19And there we are.
17:20There we are.
17:21There we are.
17:22Now, you see, Lyndon is now helping Simon now, you see?
17:27Get his suit on.
17:29And once they've done that bit, then they can get in and watch this little bit.
17:34Look.
17:35Up high.
17:36Now, there again.
17:37They help each other putting the belt on.
17:39And there's a little nut here that goes on to its attachment where he screws in while
17:45the other one...
17:46I see him doing up the knife as the other one is doing up the back there.
17:49Okay.
17:50Now, they both put on the head pieces.
17:55Fine.
17:56And then in with it.
17:57See that?
17:58That's very important.
17:59See the way they put it on?
18:00Whack.
18:01In there.
18:02And then over the back.
18:03That's fine.
18:04There we are.
18:06There we are.
18:12That's all there is.
18:15Do it.
18:16Well, don't sit there.
18:17Go and get yourselves ready.
18:18Come on up.
18:19Get out of there.
18:20Get yourselves ready.
18:21Now, Simon and Lyndon, you're not going to stay and do some marking because your commanding
18:26officer is going to do that for us.
18:28So, thank you, Corporal Lyndon Davis and Corporal Simon Poole.
18:32Right.
18:33Turn.
18:34Oh, sorry.
18:35Off with your...
18:36Sorry.
18:37Off with those.
18:38Otherwise, they'd look like a couple of penguins.
18:39And we can't have that because it loses the dignity of the Royal Engineers.
18:42So, when you're ready.
18:43Attention.
18:44Right.
18:45Turn.
18:46At the double.
18:47By the left.
18:48Quick mark.
18:49Hup to, hup to, hup to, hup to, hup to, hup to, hup to, hup to.
18:51That's all these fingers.
18:52Hup to.
18:53There they are.
18:54Come on back, if you will.
18:59I'm too glad you came.
19:00Okay, get to the end one.
19:01That's your little suit there.
19:02And there's a big suit here.
19:03A little one for you, darling, and a bigger one for you.
19:06Okay, are we ready?
19:07Now, on the command, the command is awkward.
19:10But I think for you lot, I think it's going to be more than awkward.
19:13So, you've got about a minute and a half of this.
19:16So, on your marks.
19:18More than awkward.
19:19Now.
19:20Here we are.
19:21Don't forget to work as a team.
19:24After you've done the first bit, you are a team.
19:27That's it.
19:28Get in there.
19:29That's it.
19:30Well done, dear.
19:31Well done.
19:32Yes.
19:33She's up and about.
19:34Help each other.
19:35Help each other.
19:36That's it.
19:37You are happy.
19:38Come on.
19:39Go.
19:40Go.
19:41Go.
19:42Go.
19:43Right?
19:44Right.
19:45Get in there.
19:46Go.
19:47Go.
19:48Go.
19:49Yeah.
19:50Go.
19:51Go.
19:52Go.
19:53Watch out.
19:54Go.
19:55Oh, no.
19:56Go.
19:57Go.
19:58Go.
19:59Go.
20:00Go.
20:01Go.
20:02Good, good, very good, very good, okay, yes, well done, well done, be careful, okay, now put your hoods on, put your hoods on, yes, get those on first, at least that will be something, your hoods on next, and after that go to your flippers, get your flippers on,
20:32that's it, and then your belt, go for your belt, once you've got the flippers on, 15 seconds left, you're doing very well, all of you, get your belts on,
20:45now, can we have a look at you Gary, isn't it, yes, well if we could get down,
20:48now to John.
21:02Letiton John Woodhouse.
21:09Come right over here, we will.
21:11Now, first of all, can we have a look at Gary, isn't it?
21:14Yes.
21:15Well, if we could give marks for effort, look at him.
21:17The effort was tremendous.
21:18Tremendous, yes.
21:19I mean, they were jumping up and down like crazy.
21:21It was one way to get into it.
21:22But he's not quite, he's not almost there.
21:23He hasn't got his belt on, obviously.
21:24No.
21:25I think if we give him five out of ten for that.
21:27Five out of ten.
21:28Very good.
21:29Well, that's his first mark.
21:32I mean, it won't go much higher than that unless it's absolutely right.
21:36Holding on to this.
21:37She's holding on.
21:38Well, let go of it.
21:39Let go of it.
21:40I knew you were cheating.
21:42You had that look in your eyes.
21:44But there again, they got into them very well.
21:46I thought the suits were marvellous.
21:48Very well indeed, yes.
21:49I think I'm about the same.
21:50I've got to say five out of ten for that as well.
21:52Five out of ten for that as well?
21:53Okay.
21:54All right.
21:55Now, over here.
21:57How did we do over here with...
21:59A rather long suit, I think.
22:00With jeans.
22:01Oh, look.
22:02Look at these feet.
22:03Look at those feet.
22:07Look at that foot.
22:08Look at this one.
22:09There we are.
22:10A bit of a mess.
22:11Yes, she wasn't in it properly, was she?
22:13So...
22:14A belt on.
22:15No fins.
22:16Belt on.
22:17No fins.
22:18I think it's five out of ten again.
22:19Five out of ten.
22:20Okay, you're the judge.
22:21You're right.
22:22You're the judge.
22:23Okay.
22:24Now, what about him?
22:25He has done that, hasn't he?
22:26But he's got that belt on either.
22:27Didn't get the belt on.
22:28Yeah.
22:29His hood's on well.
22:30The hood's on very well indeed.
22:31Yeah.
22:32Yeah, this is very difficult.
22:33Very difficult, John.
22:34He needs another five out of ten.
22:35Another five.
22:36So fives all along the line.
22:37Yes, yes.
22:38All right.
22:39Well, all done.
22:40He's the commanding officer.
22:41What can I say?
22:42Here we are.
22:43Thank you very much.
22:44Thank you very much.
22:45And thank you the Royal Engineers.
22:46Thank you very much for coming here tonight.
22:47Thank you very much.
22:48Thank you very much.
22:49There they are.
22:50Come back and we'll give you all my way.
22:52And we'll do that.
22:56Now, so...
22:59That's one of the hardest things we've ever got our people to do, and thank you from the
23:04bottom of my heart for being such wonderful people.
23:07Now, what's on the board, Miss Ford?
23:09Well, Debbie and Gary have scored 23.
23:1123.
23:12Jean and Chris have scored 27.
23:1427!
23:15Oh!
23:16There we are.
23:17There we are.
23:18Good luck, you two.
23:19Good luck, you two.
23:26But we'll see you in our grand final.
23:28Don't stop.
23:29Go round the back the other way.
23:30We'll see you in our grand final, which is coming up.
23:32And you'll get your generation game telephone with our love.
23:36And thank you for being...
23:37Sorry.
23:38So, thank you.
23:39Go on, Miss.
23:40And we'll see you in our grand final, which is coming up.
23:43Sort it out on the side.
23:45That's right.
23:47OK.
23:51All right, then.
23:53That's good.
23:54OK.
23:55Just get that in your own time.
23:57OK.
23:58Yes.
24:00Left.
24:01Right.
24:02Our third teams from Tyne and Weir, their father and daughter, Jim,
24:05Pellock and Joanne Byrne.
24:06OK.
24:08Lovely to meet you.
24:09Lovely to meet you.
24:10Lovely to meet you.
24:11And it's Joanne Byrne.
24:12And you're a senior administration assistant.
24:13Yes.
24:14Your job involves microfilm.
24:15Yes, it's right.
24:16Oh, microfilm.
24:17Oh, I'll make a note of that.
24:18X.
24:19K. G. B.
24:20And you're married to Rob.
24:21Tell us about your wedding.
24:22Did that all go off nicely?
24:23Well, it was OK.
24:24It was raining.
24:25Raining?
24:26Yeah.
24:27And the vicar came to the church on his push bike.
24:28On his push bike?
24:29Oh, bless his heart, yes.
24:30And then, er, we conducted the service and everything.
24:31Yeah.
24:32And once he had finished, he confessed to her that he had no trousers on under his castle
24:33because he had to.
24:34Did you get a flash of the vicar's nip?
24:35No.
24:36I bet there was St Michael's.
24:37Oh, I bet there was St Michael's.
24:38Oh, right, all right.
24:39Now, over to your father, Jim Hullock.
24:40Jim Hullock, yes.
24:41Hullock, Hullock.
24:42You've been a publican for nine days.
24:43Correct.
24:44And then, er, we conducted the service and everything.
24:45Yeah.
24:46And once he had finished, he confessed to her that he had no trousers on under his castle
24:49because he had to.
24:50Did you get a flash of the vicar's nip?
24:52No.
24:53I bet there was St Michael's.
24:55Oh.
24:56All right, all right.
24:59Now, then over to your father, Jim Hullock.
25:02Jim Hullock, yes.
25:03Hullock, Hullock.
25:04Hullock.
25:05You've been a publican for nine days.
25:06Correct.
25:07Already you've won over the eight.
25:08Your mother, Elsie Hullock.
25:11Oh, your mother, Elsie Hullock, has had 11 children?
25:14Yeah.
25:15My goodness.
25:1632 grandchildren.
25:17Yep.
25:1848 great-grandchildren.
25:19Correct, yeah.
25:20Oh, my.
25:21What a load of Hullocks.
25:31How old is she?
25:32She's 89.
25:3389?
25:34Yeah.
25:35Well, Elsie, slow down, dear.
25:36Now, then, you're married to Joan 25 years.
25:40Oh, 20 of you've been married.
25:41Can you still remember the honeymoon?
25:43Oh, yes.
25:44What happened then?
25:45Oh, yes.
25:46We went to Italy on a bus.
25:48Italy on a bus?
25:49On a bus, yes.
25:50Yes.
25:51That sounds romantic.
25:52It was, yes.
25:53All the luggage fell off the roof rack and fell onto Joan's head.
25:55Oh, no.
25:56She got stung by a wasp.
25:57Oh, no.
25:58Yeah.
25:59Don't tell me where.
26:00She almost drowned.
26:01She almost drowned.
26:02Yeah.
26:03And then when we got to the hotel, the toilet flushed five minutes.
26:05On its own, every five minutes, flushed by itself.
26:07Oh, it's nice to be regular.
26:10Isn't it?
26:11Anyway, Jim, thank you for being here.
26:13Joanne, you look nice people.
26:14We'll see who you're going to play against in a minute.
26:16OK.
26:17Off you go over there.
26:18Lovely.
26:19Good.
26:20Lovely.
26:22Who have we got left?
26:24Well, our fourth team's from Middlesex and Surrey.
26:27Their mother and son, Joan and Gary Day.
26:39How are you?
26:40How are you?
26:41Good.
26:42Lovely.
26:43No, your sister, May.
26:44Always in trouble with sailors.
26:46Now, you're a sales assistant in a second-hand ladies' clothes shop.
26:53Oh, they're getting very popular there.
26:54Oh, very.
26:55And the husbands are all for them because it didn't cost so much money.
26:57Yeah, that's right.
26:58Exactly.
26:59They love them.
27:00We're all for that.
27:01Yeah.
27:02You're single now and you have a boyfriend and he's called Ronald.
27:04That's right.
27:05You met when you worked in a supermarket.
27:07Oh, how did you meet him then?
27:08Oh, well, I was selling personal automatic.
27:11Oh, I see.
27:12He came along and I sold him a box of soap powder.
27:14Oh, what?
27:15A box of Persil?
27:16Yes, I did.
27:17Oh, I see.
27:18And a year later, he asked me to move in with him to do his washing.
27:20No.
27:21Oh, so it started off with Persil, he got bold and now you're tired as he served.
27:27Okay, right.
27:29Now, oh, your ambition is to tap dance with Bruce Forsyth.
27:34Yes.
27:35Oh, that's lovely.
27:36It's really lovely.
27:37And have dinner with Tom Jones.
27:38Oh, thanks a lot.
27:40I warm you up and he gets the dick.
27:43Not to mention the afters.
27:45All right.
27:46You're out.
27:47Anyway, thank you for being here.
27:48And over to your son, Gary.
27:50Right.
27:51And you're a sales rep for electrical wholesalers.
27:54That's right.
27:55Okay, well, nice to meet you.
27:56Oh, yes.
27:57Right.
27:58Now, you're married to Deborah.
27:59That's right.
28:00And you've got a little boy who's four months old.
28:02He is, yes.
28:03Would you like to say anything to him in camera five?
28:06Hello, Charlie.
28:07Yeah, but do you talk to him like gaga, a few gagas and all that?
28:10Go on, he's a camera five.
28:11Gaga, goo goo, gaga.
28:14Get your grip right, son.
28:16That's it.
28:17Grandma's here, too.
28:18I wonder what kids think.
28:25Look at those ripe floppers.
28:27I don't know how to talk with all this gibberish.
28:30Anyway, you've been married only for four years.
28:34Yeah.
28:35Was the honeymoon a success?
28:36Not really, Bruce.
28:37Disaster from start to finish, really.
28:38Why?
28:39Well, we were going to a villa in Spain.
28:41Oh, in Spain.
28:42Don't tell me.
28:43Go on.
28:44And then we actually got to the town we were going to
28:46and we couldn't find the villa that we were supposed to be going to.
28:49Yeah.
28:50And then eventually found the villa and there was no gas and no water.
28:52No gas, no water.
28:53No.
28:54And then I got an ear infection and was put on antibiotics
28:56and couldn't have a drink for two weeks.
28:58No gas, no water, no electricity.
29:02No.
29:03No wonder Columbus left when he did.
29:06Anyway, thank you for being here.
29:08Lovely to be here.
29:09Thank you very much.
29:10OK?
29:11I'll keep going with it.
29:13Now then, our next game is called TV Chef.
29:17Please welcome, from the very popular food and drink programme, Mr. Michael Barry.
29:22Here we are.
29:23Here we are.
29:26Here we are.
29:29Thank you for being here.
29:30Now, would you say today, it really has changed.
29:33People are more adventurous about cooking things that they would never have dreamed cooking years ago.
29:38Well, if you'd had the gas in Spain, you'd have learnt some paella, wouldn't you?
29:41All right.
29:42But do you agree there?
29:43Yeah, they turn it into a hobby.
29:44Food's become a hobby, which is a great pleasure.
29:46It gives pleasure as well as...
29:47Yeah, instead of it being a chore...
29:48It's fun.
29:49It's a hobby and fun.
29:50You're right.
29:51Well, now we're going to have a bit of fun with you.
29:52Now, watch very carefully, because Michael, you know, it's TV Chef.
29:57Not just cooking this omelette, but it's the way he presents it, the way he looks in the camera now and again.
30:02And, well, you'll see.
30:04Just watch very carefully.
30:05Thank you, Michael.
30:06The trick about being a television chef is that you've got to talk to the camera as well as putting the butter in the pan to make the omelette.
30:12It's easy enough to make an omelette, but it's talking about it at the same time.
30:16It's a trick.
30:17Take two eggs, butter in the pan, break them, open them at the same time, put them away, then beat them a little lightly.
30:24The important thing is to mix the eggs, but not to have them whipped so that they are homogenous.
30:29You need them well beaten, but not too much so.
30:32And by that time, the butter should be melting.
30:35You should try and wait until the butter's almost all gone, otherwise the omelette won't cook quickly enough.
30:40But the trick with television cooking is to get things in the pan as fast as you can,
30:45because otherwise it can take much longer than you expect.
30:48Stir the eggs about once they're in the pan.
30:50Scramble them, if you like, with a fork.
30:52You give it a good stir, the heat starts to solidify the eggs, and you can then tell the audience about the rest of the ingredients.
30:59What we've got here is some mushrooms, some parsley, a little salt and pepper, and we'll start to put those in.
31:04A little salt first, and the important thing is to keep making sure that the audience knows what's happening.
31:09A little pepper, we'll just tip the mushrooms in, give it one more little stir.
31:14See how we're going, it's thickening up nicely, and you make sure that the mushrooms get mixed in completely.
31:21There's a little parsley to add, and the nice thing about the parsley and the mushrooms is that they add both flavour and texture.
31:29You then have to have a plate to present it with. This one's a pretty blue colour, and you just make sure one last time that it's reasonably solid.
31:37If it isn't, you're going to be in for a bit of trouble.
31:39Now, I'm just going to turn that gas off before I do anything drastic over it.
31:43And then what you do is you tip the omelette onto the plate, and at the last minute, you just flip it over the last little bit so that it finishes, and it's a perfect omelette, ready to go.
31:54There we are. Cheers.
31:56OK, it's marvellous. Can you come back and do some marvellous?
31:59OK, marvellous, thank you very much.
32:01Now, come over here if you will.
32:07That's it.
32:08Get your sort of utensils and things.
32:11OK, now, don't forget, you're all TV chefs.
32:13Now, it's very important to talk and explain what you're doing.
32:17Now, the second couple, face the back there and put on those headphones so you can't see what's going on, or hear either.
32:24OK, now then, what's going to happen is you're going to get every 20 seconds, you will change over to explain what you're doing.
32:31You're going to start it off, my darling. OK, then after 20 seconds, you'll take over, you keep doing that.
32:35You've got about a minute and a half to make your omelettes, starting now.
32:40Right, now, if you just take the butter and you put it into the frying pan, make sure it's melted.
32:47So, round and round a bit, you know, just like that.
32:50Now, make sure you don't splash yourself.
32:53Put it in the pan, and you take your eggs, and if you've got small hands, you must crack them all at a time.
33:03Now, take the eggs and just break the eggs gently into the pan, like so.
33:06There we go. There we go.
33:08And of course, beat it.
33:12Couldn't find the point.
33:13Don't, don't homogenise it.
33:16And put it gently, put it gently, so that's nice, nice and nice mixture. Don't overdo it.
33:21OK.
33:22And as the eggs go into the pan, if you just mix them round, just slightly, just like that, so that it's bubbling away nicely.
33:32Now, just leave that there one second. I can show you. I've got some salt, some pepper, mushrooms, parsley.
33:38Now, the mushrooms and parsley do give a lot of texture.
33:41OK.
33:42Now, it's just a little pinch of salt.
33:43A little pinch of pepper.
33:45A little pinch of pepper.
33:47The mushrooms in, stirring all the while, remember that.
33:51Remember, smile at the camera.
33:54A little pinch of parsley, because of course, the parsley does add all the flavour, as you well know.
33:59A little touch...
34:01OK, that's it, that's it.
34:02OK, now, we're ready now for the turning over, so let, let you do it first.
34:05You do it first, but I just turn your arm over and put it into...
34:08Let me switch this off first.
34:09Make sure that's off.
34:10OK.
34:11Switch that one off anti-clockwise.
34:12OK, now, just get it and flick it into the, into the, into the plate here.
34:16OK, just flick it.
34:17And you just put it onto the plate.
34:18And just...
34:19And as it's gone in, just flick it over.
34:21There!
34:22There!
34:23There!
34:24There!
34:25Wonderful!
34:26Now you, OK, that's top.
34:27Onto a nice blue plate, a beautiful blue plate.
34:30And just as you get it halfway over, you just flick it over nicely.
34:33Thank you very much.
34:34Thank you very much.
34:35All right, well done indeed.
34:36How about those two?
34:37Very good.
34:38Very good.
34:39Now, your hands have been warming up.
34:40I'll tell you exactly what I told the other two.
34:42Every 20 seconds, you will change over, you see, to do the explanation of what you're
34:51doing.
34:52Right.
34:53You'll start it off with the first 20 seconds, then you'll take over and so on.
34:56Are you ready?
34:57You've got about a minute and a half.
34:58And cook at the same time, starting from now.
35:01Here's your camera there.
35:02Right.
35:03There you go.
35:04The nice thing about cooking on the stage like this...
35:05Here you go.
35:06Here you go.
35:07Here you go.
35:08Because all your ingredients are here for you.
35:09So here we go.
35:10What we're going to do today, we're going to make you a nice omelette.
35:12So...
35:13You're touching like that.
35:14And two of them going like that.
35:16See that.
35:17Now, what you've got to do, then, is you've got to whip the eggs.
35:19You've got to whip the eggs.
35:20You've got to harmonicise them.
35:21OK.
35:22I've got to...
35:23Beat them very slowly so that you get them nice and sort of gooey.
35:31And then...
35:32Oh, the batter's burning.
35:35I don't think you put enough in, did you?
35:38There we are.
35:39That's all right.
35:40Now we add a little mushroom.
35:42There you go.
35:43And then, of course, we've got a nice drop of salt there.
35:45Not too much, because it is bad for you.
35:47The whole cholesterol.
35:48No good for you.
35:49And then you've got a little bit of pepper in.
35:50And the nice thing as well, you've got a lovely load of mushrooms.
35:53Get the mushrooms in.
35:54Always nice.
35:55A lovely bit of mushroom on toast.
35:56Give that a little bit of stir.
35:57Oh, no, you don't do that.
35:58You don't do that.
35:59Get in with a garnish like that.
36:00There we go.
36:01And then you get...
36:02OK, off you go now.
36:03Now we go...
36:04The last thing is the parsley.
36:05And we just sprinkle it in like that.
36:07And we put that down like that.
36:09And hopefully...
36:10Is this cooking?
36:11Yes, it's still cooking.
36:12And it won't be long.
36:14It won't be long.
36:19Yes, yes, I think...
36:21Oh, we're ready.
36:22OK, hold on, hold on.
36:23First of all, you put your one in the plate here.
36:26Flick it over.
36:27You've just got to get it in like that.
36:29And then just nicely, to finish it off, just flick it over.
36:31Oh, not bad.
36:33Not bad.
36:34OK.
36:35Let's turn this one off.
36:36Right.
36:37Off you go now.
36:40Talk, talk.
36:41Oh, yeah.
36:42You couldn't get down with it.
36:44OK.
36:45Let me welcome now,
36:47Martha Bailey back to do some marketing.
36:55OK, let's get in here.
36:56Now then, what do you think?
36:58I think the omelette's very good.
36:59And I thought there was a really good performance.
37:01The few personal tips about not splashing yourself.
37:03Yes, very nice.
37:04I think that's seven out of ten.
37:06Seven out of ten.
37:07Well done.
37:08I thought it was good.
37:09I thought it was good.
37:10Yeah, here we are.
37:12Here's Jim's effort.
37:13It's a little bit burnt.
37:14It's not a bad idea.
37:15It did some good talking, I thought, as well.
37:16He did.
37:17I think six out of ten,
37:18because the omelette's not quite so smart.
37:20Yeah, but the omelette, let him down a bit.
37:22It seems it's tough.
37:23It's good.
37:24Well done, Jim.
37:25Go over here.
37:26There you go.
37:27There you go.
37:28There you go.
37:29This is the Arthur Daily School of cooking.
37:32The omelette's not bad.
37:33I think that's a six out of ten as well.
37:35It's a bit whipsy round the end.
37:36Yes.
37:37It's a bit whipsy.
37:38It's a seven for the Arthur Daily School.
37:39Seven for the Arthur Daily School.
37:40A bit of personal charm in there.
37:43OK, now what about this last one?
37:45I think the omelette's the best of the lot.
37:47It is the best.
37:48It's absolutely a splendid omelette.
37:49It does look beautiful.
37:50Every now and again, she forgot to keep talking.
37:51Yes, especially at the end.
37:52She was so intent on getting to a nova.
37:54She was speechless.
37:55I'm going to give her seven,
37:56because the omelette's first class.
37:57Yes.
37:58The talking was pretty good,
37:59especially when she told us it'd be ready soon.
38:00I think very well.
38:02That's it.
38:03I think I held you very well.
38:05And I think your martin was excellent.
38:06Thank you, Bruce.
38:07And we look forward to seeing you every Tuesday on food and drinks.
38:10Thank you, Bruce.
38:11Bye-bye.
38:13Come back here.
38:17Come in here, my darling.
38:18Come in here.
38:19Come in here.
38:20Well, what's on the board, Miss Ford?
38:23Well, Joanne and Jim have scored 13.
38:26Joan and Gary have scored 14.
38:28Oh, only one in it.
38:30Only one in it.
38:32Now, this game is called Foreign Tanks.
38:34So, ladies, get to the lecterns
38:36and keep facing the front all the way through this.
38:38And, gentlemen, get behind the tables at the back.
38:41OK?
38:42Now, then, you're going to hear some foreign languages.
38:48All you have to do, ladies, is write down what language you think it is.
38:52Now, gentlemen, all you have to do is put on the hat that you think goes with the language.
38:58And don't worry, Cilla Black's hat is not amongst them.
39:01It's being condemned.
39:06Right, so are we ready with language number one?
39:12Before he goes to sleep, my husband takes his balalaic, and there is nothing more pleasant than play with it.
39:20OK, write down what you think it is.
39:24Write down what you think it is.
39:26OK, now that, of course, was Russian.
39:30And she was saying, before he goes to sleep, my husband likes nothing better than playing with his balalaic.
39:36So, what did we get over there?
39:39Czechoslovakian.
39:40Czechoslovakian, so that's wrong.
39:42And then...
39:43And he's got a fez on.
39:44That couldn't be more wrong.
39:47So you get no points.
39:49We've got Russian.
39:50Very good.
39:51And we've got the Russian hat.
39:53Yes, very good indeed.
39:56Very good.
39:57OK.
39:59Could we have the next one, please?
40:01Will you asjeblieft je klompen uitdoen, want je verpulvert mijn tulpen?
40:05Quiet, please, out there.
40:10Quiet, please.
40:16All right.
40:17That was Dutch.
40:19Do you mind removing your clogs because you're crushing my tulips?
40:24So it was Dutch, what did you get over there?
40:25We've got German.
40:26German, so you're wrong there.
40:28Yeah, I'm back.
40:29The wrong hat.
40:31Somehow it suits you.
40:33The wrong hat.
40:34Sorry about that.
40:35We've got Polish, so that is wrong.
40:38So no points for that at all.
40:40Could we have the next one?
40:41See if we do better with this.
40:43El toro está aprendiendo a bailar,
40:45pero tiene dificultad para tocar a las castañetas.
40:49Ah.
40:51Hope you're playing with the toro.
40:55OK, fine.
40:56That, of course, was Spanish.
40:57And what he was saying was, my bull is learning to dance, but he's having trouble playing the castanets.
41:03So, what have we got over there?
41:06We have Spanish.
41:07Spanish, good.
41:08And we have a correct hat.
41:09And we have a correct hat.
41:10Oh, well done, I think.
41:11Two points!
41:12Hooray!
41:15And we've got Spanish, and we've got the Spanish hat.
41:18Two points!
41:19Hooray!
41:20And the last one, please.
41:21And the last one, please.
41:25Have a guess, if you're not sure.
41:29Just...
41:30Right, OK.
41:31It was Welsh.
41:32How about that Welsh?
41:33You see, you did have that on earlier on.
41:35Anyway, the phrase was, this must be a Welsh bucket because there's a leak in it.
41:50That's what they're saying.
41:51So, what have we got over there?
41:52We have Welsh.
41:53Welsh!
41:54Yes!
41:55Well done!
41:56Well done indeed.
41:57Nothing at all for the hat, I'm afraid.
41:59We've got German here.
42:00Nothing for that.
42:01It's really good.
42:02Nothing for that either, but a lot of fun and thank you for playing our game.
42:07Come on, what a bet.
42:08There we go.
42:09There we go.
42:10There we go.
42:11There we go.
42:12There we go.
42:13There we go.
42:14There we go.
42:15There we go.
42:16There we go.
42:17There we go.
42:18There we go.
42:19I've got a rule all that added up to.
42:20What's on the board, Miss Ford?
42:22Well, Joanne and Jim have scored 17.
42:2417.
42:25Joan and Gary have also scored 17.
42:28Oh!
42:29Time breaker.
42:30Time breaker.
42:31All right.
42:32Now, let me explain.
42:33It's the first one to answer correctly.
42:36It has to be correct.
42:38So think before you answer.
42:40Here we go.
42:41With which athletics event do you associate Steve Backley?
42:45JoBlyn.
42:46Yes.
42:47Well done.
42:48Well done.
42:49Well done indeed.
42:50There we are.
42:51Bad luck, you see.
42:53Thank you very much for being so marvellous.
42:56Off you go there.
42:58Thank you very much for being so marvellous.
43:00And let's remind ourselves of who you'll be playing in our grand final.
43:05Well done indeed.
43:06Yeah.
43:07There we are.
43:08There we are.
43:09Hallelujah.
43:10Now, have we got a grand final for you?
43:15No, but first of all, relax and enjoy, from the continent, one of the best known acts
43:20in the business, Bart Shelley.
43:22Oh!
43:23Woo!
43:24Woo!
43:25Woo!
43:26OOOOO

44:23Oh, my God.
44:53Oh, my God.
45:23Oh, my God.
45:53Oh, my God.
46:23Oh, my God.
46:53Oh, my God.
47:23Oh, my God.
47:52Oh, my God.
48:22Oh, my God.
48:52Oh, my God.
49:22Oh, my God.
49:52Oh, my God.
50:2245 seconds left, you've got loads of time, and we're counting how much you've got up to yet, so that will count for you if they were to tumble, but keep going, because you're doing wonderful, really wonderfully well.
50:34Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
50:46Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
51:16Okay. Don't tell us what it was. Don't tell us how many it was.
51:23Well done. Well done indeed.

51:28All right, Joan and Gary, over there and get yourselves all ready.
51:31Lovely, lovely.
51:32We're ready now for Bart Shelley, take three.
51:36There we are.
51:37Now, you're going to do the loading, okay?
51:40You're going to do the loading.
51:41So it's always the tallest to the smallest.
51:44Tallest to the smallest, tallest to the smallest.
51:46All you have to do, my darling, as soon as he starts,
51:48nip over there, get one of this lot here, you see?
51:51Bring it over here, put it down there, and then take the top one off.
51:55Okay, the highest tower will count throughout the two minutes.
51:59Okay, your two minutes will be starting now.
52:02Start on here. Get that one there, the whole lot.
52:05That's it.
52:09Good.
52:09Put it down there, put it on there.

52:19Go and get another one.
52:28Go and get another one, dear.
52:29Go and get another one.
52:30Get another lot.
52:32Otherwise, you'll hold him up.
52:34Okay.

52:36Hurry up.
52:36No, not there, dear.
52:41Here.
52:43That's it.
52:44Take the top one off.

52:46Take the top it off.
52:47Good.
52:48And put it back there.
52:49Okay, you ready?
52:50Just guide yourself at the side.
52:51Not too high.

52:53Start again.
52:57Hurry up.
52:58You've got loads of time left.

53:13You've got to do it.
53:15I'll get this out of the way.
53:16Back to the old job.
53:23Good.
53:23Good.
53:24Fine.
53:25You've got quite a bit of time left, so don't worry.
53:29Oh, you've got 30 seconds left, so you'll have to move fairly quickly.
53:32Okay?
53:34There we are.
53:35Get another one, dear.
53:36Get another.
53:36Look, round here.
53:39What have you got two lots at the top there for?
53:42Never mind.
53:43Put that one there.
53:45Take that one off.
53:46Okay, off you go.
53:48Come on, you've got 15 seconds left.

54:33There we are.
54:34It's a long line.
54:43It was a short.
54:44Yes.
54:45Well, 19 trace.
54:4519 trace.
54:46Nineteen?
54:47Nineteen, you did.
54:4719, yes.
54:48Very good.
54:48So I'll give them 19 points.
54:5019 points, that's fair enough.
54:52Well done.
54:53Well done, indeed.
54:55But of course, they made me, or will make me, my, losing my job.
55:03How many did they get?
55:0425 trades.

55:07So, I'll give them 25 points.
55:1125 points, well done.
55:12And Bart Shelley, I hope it's been a long time to see you again, and we'll look forward

55:21Thank you, Bart Shelley.
55:24And we're sorry to say goodbye to you, because you've been absolutely marvellous.
55:27But we do have a generation game, telephone, and, er, an after machine, not that it's any
55:36use to you.
55:37You don't want them, give them back to me.
55:38But anyway, thank you very much for being with us.
55:41If you'd just pop off there, and thank you, Gary.
55:43And come on, come on, get round here, and this is a big start, and you want to stay
55:47here, and come on.
55:49Okay, take the doors away, please.
55:51Lots of articles are going to pass before your eyes.
55:53Have a real good look.
55:54Everything you remember, you will take home with you tonight.
