00:00All right, so many people listening I know will not recognize this name,
00:10but Gary Coleman was a pint-sized TV star in the 80s
00:15on a show called Different Strokes.
00:17But Dave murdered it?
00:19I did not murder him.
00:21He may have been murdered, though.
00:23Oh, wow.
00:23He may have been murdered.
00:25But it was not us.
00:27Just so happens.
00:28Was a murderer waiting for us to hang up the phone so he could murder him?
00:33Honestly, it's crazy.
00:34You guys may not know this, but we interviewed this guy, Gary Coleman,
00:37way back in the day.
00:39Turns out, the day of his death.
00:41Within an hour after hanging up the phone from us, he died.
00:45It is wild.
00:46Within an hour.
00:47Think of it that way.
00:50We were probably some of the last people in the world to ever speak to this pint-sized star.
00:54His last words could have been something he said, like,
00:58Bye, Dave.
00:58Just like that.
01:02What you talking about, Dave?
01:03Yeah.
01:04I don't know if that's true or not.
01:06I don't either.
01:06Nonetheless, there is a documentary now looking into his death and trying to figure out,
01:12was it murder?
01:14We didn't make the documentary.
01:15Not that I know of, at least.
01:17I haven't watched it, though.
01:18I haven't watched it.
01:20Radio show Dave and Chuck the Freak interviewed him, and he died right after it.
01:25Here's the story.
01:26Was Gary Coleman murdered?
01:28That's one of the stunning questions raised in a controversial new documentary, Gary,
01:32which started streaming today on Peacock.
01:35What you talking about, Willis?
01:36Gary Coleman was once the highest paid child actor in America, starring on the beloved sitcom,
01:41Different Strokes.
01:42Different Strokes was so popular, even First Lady Nancy Reagan had a guest spot.
01:47What's up about Mrs. Reagan?
01:48But four-foot-eight-inch Gary came to resent the character and his iconic catchphrase.
01:54It sounds ridiculous when I do it.
01:56I'm sorry.
01:57In 2007, after years alone, he married an unknown movie extra, Shannon Price.
02:02The marriage was tempestuous.
02:04I slapped him a couple times.
02:06I mean, nothing major.
02:08Nothing like red flag.
02:09After one spat, Coleman spent the night in jail.
02:12No jail time.
02:13Not leaving my house.
02:14Not paying any heavy fines.
02:16In 2010, Shannon called 911 from Gary's Utah home, saying he'd fallen down the stairs.
02:22My head is bloody.
02:23There's blood all over the floor.
02:24I don't know what happened.
02:25I really don't know what happened.
02:26I just can't be here at the bottom.
02:28I'm sorry.
02:28I can't do it.
02:28I can't.
02:29Shannon had doctors take him off life support two days later.
02:33Friends still question the circumstances around his death.
02:36I spoke with his friend, Kent Emmons, who Gary named an executor of his estate in his will.
02:41Do you believe in your heart that Gary died from an accidental fall?
02:46No, I don't believe that.
02:48Wow.
02:49And again, that's strictly my speculation.
02:52I don't believe it.
02:54In the Peacock documentary, Shannon denies any wrongdoing.
02:57I didn't do anything.
02:59I didn't touch him.
03:00I didn't hurt him.
03:00I was nowhere near him.
03:02Nothing happened.
03:02Shannon triggered outrage when she allegedly sold the tabloids a photo of Gary on his deathbed, which we are blurring.
03:09It was just sick.
03:10First of all, that's not the way, you know, Gary needs to be remembered.
03:14He was a great, wonderful, amazing man.
03:18The child star who craved privacy had none, even in death.
03:24Why didn't we know about this before?
03:26I guess we didn't care enough.
03:28We just didn't do it with us.
03:29We didn't want to look into it any further.
03:30I'm not sure, but why didn't anyone else talk about this before?
03:33This is a long time ago.
03:34He died in 2010.
03:36Yeah.
03:38When you hook up Gary Coleman, Dave and Chuck the Freak, the first thing that comes up, it's been 11 years since Dave and Chuck the Freak killed Gary Coleman.
03:45So she probably was waiting for him to get off the phone and then allegedly throw him down the stairs.
03:52Unless he had another radio interview.
03:53He was probably doing many.
03:54What was he promoting?
03:55I can't remember why we were talking to him.
03:58I can't either.
03:59I don't remember a single thing about it.
04:00And what?
04:00Did he get mad?
04:02There was something that happened, right?
04:03And he hung up?
04:04I can't remember if Dave tried to make him say his catchphrase.
04:08Say it, bitch!
04:09What you talking about, Dave?
04:10Yeah.
04:11I forget what happened.
04:13All we heard when he died is that he fell.
04:17And hit his head.
04:18That was it.
04:18Yeah.
04:19But like, because I had never heard the 911 call where she's like, oh, I have to leave.
04:23I got to go.
04:24There's too much blood.
04:25I can't be here.
04:26And it's like, that's odd.
04:29That's weird.
04:29Yeah.
04:30Well, the fact that she sold the picture to the tabloids is really odd.
04:34That's funny.
04:34We have posts of him on our page from like 2010.
04:39Yeah.
04:39That's when he died.
04:40Yeah.
04:41And we did.
04:42And we interviewed him.
04:43And we interviewed him then.
04:44But it's interesting that we did a post just after he died, but I can't find it.
04:52I wonder what we said.
04:55Who knows?
04:57We did post that.
04:58Oh, my God.
04:59We posted that.
05:00Oh, we posted it.
05:01You guys heard that of us?
05:03On the old website?
05:04Yeah.
05:04No, on our Facebook.
05:06Oh, on Facebook.
05:07We posted that picture she sold of him on the internet.
05:10Oh, so look at the comments.
05:11We just forgot.
05:13But you guys did not blur it out like the news.
05:15No, we did not.
05:16Some people were very upset about it.
05:18Go to David Chuck the Freak on Facebook and you'll see it.
05:22Oh, wow.
05:22Man, I love when stuff is new to you guys.
05:24Well, there's so much.
05:25It's not too much.
05:26It's been decades.
05:27Come on.
05:27And I'm not on Facebook.
05:29I don't remember Facebook posts.
05:30It's just great to be like, nobody ever talked about it.
05:33And it's like, oh, you know what?
05:34We did.
05:35We did.
05:35We must have talked about it.
05:36We probably speculated that he was murdered back then.
05:39We won't remember.
05:40No, we'll never remember.
05:41I just, I don't remember what we did yesterday.
05:43Everyone just blamed us.
05:46Right?
05:46Everyone blamed us because we interviewed him and he was dead the next day.
05:49Yeah.
05:50Because at the time, I think, I don't know if he was the first or if it was,
05:56look, damn, the Dave and Chuck the Freak curse continued.
05:58Gary Coleman rushed to the hospital just minutes after talking to Dave and Chuck this morning.
06:02Yeah.
06:03Someone said in a comment, so I did find this post.
06:05I mean, I can find it on my phone.
06:07Someone said, it's because Dave kept pushing him.
06:10What does that mean?
06:11What did I say?
06:12I knew you upset him.
06:14There was some, he was, it didn't go.
06:17It wasn't.
06:18Why did I, why was I pushing him?
06:19His last moments in life were upset.
06:21Dave, you murderer.
06:22Yeah.
06:22His last moments were being upset by Dave.
06:26Oh my God.
06:26And then he tried to get down the stairs real fast.
06:29Did he call back or was that someone else?
06:30That was.
06:30That was Corey Feldman.
06:32Corey Feldman.
06:32But I do feel like there was something.
06:34God, our memories are terrible.
06:36I know.
06:36I know.
06:36I bet you were trying to get him to say his catchphrase.
06:41Because it sounds like he doesn't like saying it.
06:43He ain't saying it.
06:44And Dave, for sure.
06:45And he wants people to do the thing that they're going for.
06:47I bet our listeners remember.
06:49Oh, I'm sure.
06:50Our long term.
06:51Oh my God, it was 14 years ago.
06:52They remember.
06:53They remember.
06:54People that listen from the beginning, they remember so much.
06:57They do.
06:57That's my bet.
06:58That he was trying.
06:59I could actually see Dave saying to him when he refused to do the catchphrase, something
07:03like, why else would we talk to you, you little bastard?
07:08Listen, that could have been word for word.
07:11Oh.
07:12Someone said, I just found something online that said he was trying to plug a movie and
07:15he was showing his junk in it and Dave called him out on it.
07:19He was?
07:19He was promoting a movie.
07:21Was he promoting?
07:21Where he showed his penis?
07:22His little Gary called his penis?
07:24Listen.
07:25That's probably what you said.
07:26That's probably.
07:27Why would you show your penis?
07:29How big is your penis?
07:30What is his last movie?
07:31I don't know.
07:33Did they even go on with the movie after he passed that day?
07:36Oh, no.
07:37I'm not even going to say what it was called.
07:39What?
07:40What was he called, Lisa?
07:42Well, there's.
07:44Just Google.
07:45Just Google.
07:45Just Google Gary Coleman's last movie.
07:47Gary Coleman's last movie.
07:48Oh, no.
07:48And I don't even know if that's his last movie.
07:50Yeah, that's his last movie.
07:53Midgets versus mascots?
07:55That's the Gary Coleman and Dave Hunter story.
08:00Midgets versus mascots?
08:02Yeah, you were a mascot.
08:03I was a mascot.
08:04He was a midget.
08:06He was promoting that movie.
08:08That's why he called.
08:09That's why we had him on.
08:10Oh, my God.
08:11I hated our show.
08:12No, did you really get moved?
08:13I mean, I still do.
08:16But, my God.
08:16You know it.
08:17You know that's why.
08:18We were like, okay, we'll talk.
08:20And I don't know about what's in it.
08:21And I'm sure Dave was like, listen, no one cares about midgets and mascots.
08:26What we need to know is how I was doing different strokes.
08:29His private parts were in it.
08:31Yes.
08:31And that's what we were talking about when he got mad.
08:33Yes, he got mad because he did it and immediately changed his mind and wanted the scene cut.
08:39That's even better.
08:40But I was pushing him about it.
08:41Oh, no.
08:45No.
08:47The wildest murder mystery I've ever heard.
08:51Gary Coleman.
08:58He receives a script called Midgets vs. Mascot.
09:04An opportunity to take his career back around.
09:08Was he pushed too hard by radio personality Dave Hunter?
09:11Yes.
09:12Did it push him over the edge or down a flight of stairs, ultimately resulting in his demise?
09:21Holy smokes, you guys.
09:25Mm-mm.
09:26Well, rest in peace, little Gary.
09:29Hope we didn't play a part.
09:30Oh, we did.
09:31But we were the last people you spoke to.
09:33Well, Dave did, more so.
09:34You probably really upset him and then he said the wrong thing to his wife and she tossed him down the stairs.
09:39Allegedly.
09:40He was mad.
09:41Yeah, he was mad.
09:43There's no question he was mad.
09:44Yeah.
09:45Oh, he was definitely mad.
09:46I don't remember a single thing.
09:48I only have a feeling about it.
09:50Me too.
09:51And the feeling that I have was that it really went badly at the end.
09:55Yeah.
09:56That's the feeling that I had.
09:58And then when we found out he was dead, we were like, are you kidding me right now?
10:03It was really uncomfortable as usual.
10:05Because that's what I thought we thought.
10:07Someone said Gary was upset because he was in a movie that showed his penis.
10:11Yep.
10:11Dave called him out on his BS and Gary, clearly used to be able to play along, did not seem to care for that.
10:16Yep.
10:21Yeeks.
10:22I'm going to call you out on your BS, Gary.
10:28I don't know why we did any of those things.
10:31I don't know.
10:32I don't know.
10:32It was 14 years ago.
10:33I know.
10:34We were just killing time.
10:36Yeah.
10:37Still are.
10:38Still are.
10:38Just another waste.
10:39Yeah.
10:40Just trying to not to remember things that we did 14.
10:43Stupid celebrities.
10:45Holy cow.
10:45If you want to see that documentary, it is airing now.
10:48It seems like it might be worth a watch.
10:50Yeah.
10:51Yeah.
10:51Might be interesting.
10:52Interesting.
