00:0092.5 XTU, Philly's country station, it's Nicole with Priscilla Blanc!
00:04Hi! I feel like I haven't seen you in a long time.
00:07Since XTU anniversary show, not this year, the year before.
00:10With that, we downpoured.
00:12Downpoured and hailed, and we were like outside under this random ass tent.
00:16I lost my lash.
00:18Me every single day of my life.
00:20It was, it was such a, but your interview was so great, it was like such a highlight of the day.
00:24Yeah, that's really nice.
00:26Listen, at least it was the worst part.
00:29Never!
00:30Why?
00:31I don't even think losing the eyelash was the worst part.
00:33I think like getting stuck in the hail and I got, your hair looks great by the way.
00:36Cause I got a blowout and like, then like all of the curls fell off.
00:39That was the worst part of the day.
00:40Well, your hair looks amazing today.
00:42Thank you, thank you.
00:43Wait, congratulations.
00:44Number one song on the puncher radio.
00:46It's crazy.
00:47I mean, it's my first number one.
00:49I don't even, I literally don't even know what's happening.
00:52Like I literally can't even.
00:54No, I can't.
00:55I am just like, am I dreaming?
00:57I've been on a freaking week bender.
00:59I am just so freaking hype.
01:01And it's your birthday.
01:02Happy birthday.
01:03It's the birthday.
01:04It's just like my first ever number one.
01:07I am.
01:08I cry all the time.
01:09I could cry right now.
01:10It's just, it's so cool.
01:11It's so cool.
01:12I've dreamed of this.
01:13Um, I'm so thankful to Justin and y'all for playing it.
01:16It's just, it's really, really cool.
01:18I mean, it's a smash and we played a hit.
01:20So like, there's a re you know what I mean?
01:21Like there's a reason that it's number one.
01:22It's so good.
01:24When did you guys record that?
01:25Like talk.
01:26I'm sure you told the story a million times, but you haven't told it to me.
01:28How did that all kind of come about?
01:30So I met Justin at a radio show.
01:33We were doing St. June, St. Jude benefit.
01:35And I went up to him, like just my sassy frassiness that I am.
01:40And I'm like, Hey, Justin, I know you don't know me, but my name is Priscilla.
01:43I'm just like, we're vomiting.
01:45And I'm like, literally like five years ago, I went to your album release party in Nashville.
01:50And like, I was sneaking into all the bars.
01:52And I like, cause he was doing this like album release party, downtown Nashville.
01:55And he would play one song in one bar and go to the next bar and go to the next bar.
01:59And so me and my best friend, we were sneaking into every bar and just watching the whole thing.
02:03And he's like, who is this crazy girl?
02:06You're like, I'm a Leo.
02:07Yeah, exactly.
02:08And so we played that show that night.
02:11It was a guitar pole.
02:13And he came up to me after the show.
02:15He was like, I literally had no clue who you were.
02:18And he was like, I am such a fan of you.
02:21That's so awesome.
02:22And he was like, whatever I can do to help you out.
02:25Um, here's my number.
02:27Let me know.
02:28And I'm like, okay, sure.
02:31Don't give the number.
02:32Unless you wanted me to call because my mom says if someone offers it, take it, take it.
02:37So anyways, they got that song like four months later.
02:41And he was like, I'm going to call Priscilla and see if she wants to do the song with me.
02:44It's so awesome.
02:45And I listened to it.
02:46I was like, yes.
02:47Like, I love this song.
02:48I'm so glad we're not singing about champagne.
02:51Cause I'm not a champagne girl.
02:53Like at least it's whiskey, you know?
02:55So it's just, it's, it's really, I mean, it's changed my life.
02:58And I, I cannot say like, I can't, I can go on and on about Justin.
03:05He's the nicest guy I've ever met.
03:07And I think it's important to talk about the fact though, that you really know yourself
03:11and you know your talents and you, and I think that it's such a great lesson for people
03:15who are listening, whether it's like on the radio or obviously this will be on the socials
03:19about how like you felt confident enough to go up to him and be like, this is who I am.
03:24I've worked my ass off.
03:25Like, let's do something together.
03:26And I think it's important, especially to young women to tell them, like, don't be afraid
03:29to introduce yourself.
03:30Don't be afraid to talk about that.
03:32What made you, do you feel like you always had that confidence?
03:36Well, I'm one of five kids, so I had to stand out some way.
03:39You know, I've been the attention seeker since I was born.
03:43Where do you fall in one through five?
03:45I'm second to youngest.
03:46Oh yeah.
03:47So that's, yeah, you have to, but I think like, honestly, I think it comes from my parents.
03:51Like my parents are go getters.
03:53They were like, if you want to go to college, you'll go to college and you'll put yourself
03:57through college.
03:58If you want to go be whatever you want to be, go do it and we'll support.
04:01I feel the same.
04:02I always said about my parents and they gave me the, I'm from a super, super, super small
04:07town and you know, everybody was white and Catholic and I wanted to go to the big city
04:11and do entertainment.
04:12And they were like, we support you.
04:13And if you, as long as you make a good decision, we'll support you.
04:16Yeah.
04:17Yeah.
04:18And I, to be honest, there's so much talent in the world.
04:20And if you're not your biggest number one fan, then no one's going to get it.
04:25Yeah.
04:26And it's like, it doesn't matter.
04:28Like, it doesn't matter how good the songs are.
04:30It doesn't matter how good you look.
04:31Like, if you're not like, I'm here and I want to say something different.
04:36And I know that this can be bigger than who's going to want to be on your team.
04:40If you, if you're not your biggest fan, then chances are like, you probably need to wait
04:45a little bit.
04:46And, and I've, I've, since day one of moving to Nashville, I was, I mean, I was, it was
04:5017 years old.
04:51Yeah.
04:52And when I moved out there, I was like, fearlessly walking into rooms being like, I'm Priscilla,
04:57please listen to my stuff.
04:58And here we are with my first number one, nine, almost a decade later.
05:02Yeah.
05:03Yeah.
05:04And you like your work.
05:05It's just, it's so awesome.
05:06I'm so happy for you.
05:07Just love everything that you've done.
05:09And obviously just like you being yourself and just being such an inspiration to, to really
05:15to women of just being like, love yourself, love your body.
05:18I it's so important.
05:19And if we just, to have that out there, I just want to tell you how much it means to
05:23me seeing it.
05:24And I can't imagine how other people feel too.
05:26So, so happy to go.
05:27Well, thank you.
05:28That means a lot.
05:29It's true.
05:30It's so true.
05:31All right.
05:32So what's next?
05:33The next couple, obviously like summer's winding down.
05:34You've been on the road nonstop.
05:35Are you going on vacation?
05:36Are you taking a break?
05:37I need to.
05:38Um, I'm like, I'm just not going to sleep three years.
05:40And then after that, I'll take a nap.
05:43Wait, what'd you do for your birthday?
05:44You had the Leo cake.
05:45You had the leopard cake, which is amazing.
05:47I stopped doing it.
05:48Oh, honestly, I stopped me too.
05:51I think I'm like, I am my biggest fan.
05:53I'm like looking back.
05:54I'm like, Oh my gosh, this is so cool.
05:55I'm always rewatching my stories.
05:56Like, Oh my God, that was so funny.
05:58Um, we had a week.
06:01So we were out for three weeks.
06:02We came home for two days and I rented an Airbnb in Nashville and we did a party in the
06:08wild.
06:09So it was all animal print themed and we raged.
06:15Like I'm still like hung over slash drunk.
06:19I don't even know, but we partied so hard and it was the week of my number one.
06:23So it's just, it's been unreal.
06:25Yeah.
06:26All right.
06:27So back to what I asked you originally about what's coming up next.
06:30Gosh.
06:31Um, you know, I'm, I'm really ready for new music.
06:34I, uh, I just put out a song called fake names.
06:37I don't know if y'all have heard it, but it's about being reckless with your friends.
06:41Like AKA this whole past week.
06:43Um, but jelly roll, I don't know if you know this, but jelly roll is the one actually talking
06:49on the song.
06:50There's like a dude's voice and it's jelly.
06:51Yeah.
06:52Oh my God.
06:53You're like, Holy crap.
06:54That is jelly.
06:55So fun.
06:56Um, I'm ready for your music.
06:58I, did you ask him to do that?
07:00I did.
07:01You did.
07:02You know, I was like, Hey, I've got this part.
07:05All I need you to say is, Hey, to Wanda, don't you got a brain surgery or something?
07:09You got to go to, I think your lady's like, I got you girl.
07:12Um, but no, I, I'm ready for new music and I'm ready to, uh, we have a, like a week off
07:19coming up and I'm really ready to like dive into my life and write some songs.
07:24Um, and hopefully put out a new album here.
07:27So soon ends like another song at country radio.
07:30All right.
07:31I mean, I'm sure a lot of people already who are listening, do follow you, but just in
07:34case, how do they follow you on the socials?
07:37Wherever you find people, just Google Priscilla block.
07:41You might be scared.
07:43I honestly have never Googled myself and I don't think I ever will.
07:46Cause God knows what we'll pull up, but I'm on it at all.
07:49We'll just keep watching our Instagram story.
07:51Yeah.
07:52Priscilla block.
07:53That's her name.
07:54If you're not already following her, you're lame because she's the coolest.
07:57So follow her, send her some love and, um, thank you so much.
08:00You got it there.
08:01Yeah.
08:02Good to see you.
08:03Okay.
08:04Go ahead.
08:06Okay.
