00:07How are you?
00:08I'm great. This is awesome. I love Tidal Wave. We got to do it last year, so we've been excited to get back now.
00:13That's awesome. So, I know that with these festivals, you probably don't have time to, like, come and totally take advantage of all that the Jersey Shore has to offer, right?
00:21Yeah, true. Yeah, we honestly rarely get to see any of it. We're in and out, but we have been to Atlantic City a few times.
00:27Okay.
00:27I've gotten to see it.
00:28So, you know your way around.
00:29Yeah, you're going to be playing some games?
00:32I wish. Honestly, I need to stay away from the casinos, but this one's in and out.
00:38But, like I said, last year was so crazy, so we've just been excited.
00:42Yeah.
00:42Just excited to get here. But when we have a little more time, we do. We go into the casinos and house.
00:47Yeah, it's a good time. And it's a great crowd, right? I mean, already today, it's, like, jammed out there.
00:52Yeah, that's right. My tour manager was just saying that it's already, I mean, that's what you want.
00:57Yeah, it's that cool experience. I mean, when it's on the ocean like that and the crowd goes back as far as you can see, that's so much fun, so much energy.
01:03It's got to feel so good, right?
01:05Yeah, I know.
01:05And then to hear them singing back to you, you know, that's something that, unless you're a star, like, you never get that feeling.
01:14You would have no idea what that feels like, but it has got to be the best feeling in the world.
01:18I mean, cliche aside, it really is. It's, like, why you do it. It's, you know, you write these songs in these little rooms, and, you know, I'm from Nashville, and just, when somebody's singing it back and I'm taking the time to listen, it's truly the most, it's an absolute honor, first of all, and it's just the greatest feeling in the world. It really is.
01:36Yeah, that's awesome. Well, we know you through your music, and we know you from, you know, spending time with us here and stuff, but I'd like to get to know the real Mitchell Tenpenny.

01:58I go, I'm going Jasmine. Rapunzel was, like, Rapunzel was, wasn't.

02:08Do you snore?
02:11My wife says I snore. I had my tonsils taken out, so I thought I didn't, but apparently I still do the serum.
02:16Yeah, for her, I'm sorry. What's your guilty pleasure?
02:20Guilty pleasure, I mean, probably golf. I like to be outside golfing as much as I can.
02:24Yeah.
02:25Yeah, guilty pleasure is golf and tequila, I guess.

02:38What fictional family would you want to be part of?
02:41Oh, man, I saw this the other day. Probably Fresh Prince of Bel-Air's family.

02:50They looked like they had a good time. And they had a studio downstairs with Jessie.
02:55Yeah. Who are you in awe of?
02:58Who am I in awe of? I mean, as far as, like, artists or just anyone in the world?

03:02I mean, I'm pretty in awe of what Taylor Short's doing right now. It's absolutely insane.
03:07I mean, she is, it's, like, she has more people outside of her shows than most people have in their shows.
03:12Yeah.
03:13It's actually truly amazing.
03:14Right. And, like, goodness.
03:17Yeah.
03:17Right? It's, that's the other cool thing. I took my daughter to see her when she was in Philly, and it's like, I mean, it was just such a great vibe.
03:25Everyone's in a great mood at helping each other.
03:27Yeah, the whole Beads thing.
03:29Yeah.
03:29And just the whole community. I've got to catch a show, but we're always playing when she is, but it's, I've seen the videos. It looks absolutely incredible.
03:36It's amazing. Hopefully you'll be able to get to the, you know, go overseas, because I guess the tickets are cheaper.
03:41Oh, right.
03:42Okay, and then finally, if you have a day, and you get to do anything you want, and go anywhere you want, where would you go, and who would you take with me?
03:52My wife, and, I mean, we'd go somewhere outdoors. I mean, honestly, like, somewhere with a body of water, a lake, a ocean.
04:00We love, we love going to a lake house, so that's about an hour outside of Nashville, and just getting out there, getting a boat, and just chilling in the water.
04:06That's nice. So you just, like, hang out in the water. Are you doing it skiing?
04:10Not, I mean, I will, I will, but I've never actually skied. I've wakeboarded and any sort of stuff.
04:16But just hanging, just honestly, just chilling, make up a good drink, probably fish a little bit.
04:22Okay.
04:22Just, yeah, nothing too crazy.
04:24You mentioned your wife, Megan Patrick. She's also in the business, so that's probably not something you guys get a whole lot of time.
04:29No, and that's what I'm saying. Yeah, that's fine. We definitely, when we get the time, we like to do it together.
04:33So, yeah, I mean, she's in Canada right now, playing a show, so we're, you know, when we finally line up, we like to do that.
