00:00Hey there! It's Andy Summers! We're at the Tidalway Festival, and I'm here with Dylan Scott. How are you?
00:06I'm great. How are you doing?
00:07I'm doing so well. You are a sweaty mess right now. What have you been doing?
00:10Yeah. We've been playing a little show for Jersey Mike's outside on the Jersey Shore.
00:15See that?
00:16At the Sub Above Club.
00:18Wow.
00:19I got this down. Yeah, you do.
00:20It was awesome. Crowd was awesome. Good time.
00:22Good. That sounds like it's warm out there.
00:24Oh, it's hot. It ain't warm. It's hot.
00:26Okay.
00:27My calves were sweaty.
00:29Yeah.
00:30Okay. So this is not the only job that you have. You are a man who wears many hats, Dylan Scott.
00:35Yeah. I'm a husband. And a daddy.
00:38Yeah. Those are hats that you wear.
00:40Yep.
00:41Yep.
00:42And you and your brother own things together.
00:45So my brother and I own a coffee shop together.
00:48Yeah.
00:49Yeah. We just opened it a few months ago. It's doing awesome.
00:51Awesome.
00:52Him and my sister-in-law are crushing it.
00:53Very good.
00:54So tell everybody what the name of it is so that when you go to Nashville.
00:57Yeah. When you come to Nashville, go to see Drips Coffee Shop.
01:00It's in Hendersonville right outside of town.
01:02So we got that.
01:03Is that your nickname? Is that like what your parents used to call you and your brother growing up?
01:06No. No. No. Not Drips. I don't think so. I've got a garbage business too.
01:12Yes. You do.
01:13So during COVID, I started a residential trash company with my buddy from back home.
01:20Yeah.
01:21And really just kind of started like, hey, we can do that.
01:23And started with a truck and a trailer.
01:24And now we've got four real garbage trucks with like men hanging off the back of me.
01:29Yeah.
01:30We've got 5,000 houses.
01:31Wow.
01:32Rocking and rolling in the garbage business.
01:34Yeah.
01:35Have you ever like done it?
01:36Have you ever driven the truck?
01:37I have.
01:38Well, I'm not going to drive the truck because I don't have a CDO license.
01:41Good.
01:42So that would be illegal.
01:43I'm going to drive the truck.
01:44But I've hung off the back of it.
01:45Okay.
01:46I've done that so.
01:47That's cool.
01:48So when you say talk dirty to me, I really can.
01:50Yeah, you can.
01:51Yeah.
01:52Get the real deal.
01:53Yeah.
01:54Get it.
01:55The real deal.
01:56All of it.
01:57Yeah.
01:58That's fun.
01:59So, I mean, that's pretty cool that you are blessed to have this amazing talent that you
02:03have, right?
02:04That you get to share with all of us through the radio.
02:06Right.
02:07Your albums, streaming, all of that.
02:08And then from that, you're able to, you know, like go into business with your brother
02:12and your best friend and help their dreams come true.
02:15Because I bet your friend was like, I've always wanted a trash business.
02:18Well, I mean, he was the one talking about it.
02:20He was like, man, my trash service sucks.
02:21Well, fix it, you know?
02:22Yeah.
02:23Do something about it.
02:24But I was just, look, I was at the right place at the right time.
02:26And I'm a firm believer.
02:28And if you put your mind to something, you can do whatever you want to do.
02:31Yeah.
02:32And so I told myself, we can start a trash film.
02:34And so we did.
02:35And my brother and I, we were out in LA and we was at a coffee shop and he just kept,
02:38he knows coffee.
02:39I don't know coffee.
02:40I know I like it, you know?
02:41Yeah.
02:42But he just kept going on and on and on about coffee.
02:44He was in this coffee shop.
02:45I was like, well, let's have our own coffee shop.
02:47You know?
02:48I was like, we can do this.
02:49He's like, are you serious?
02:50Like, yeah.
02:51That's so cool.
02:52Yeah.
02:53You're a doer.
02:54I appreciate that.
02:55Cause we're not all like that.
02:56Right?
02:57So.
02:58And I got three kids.
02:59So you know, I'm a doer.
03:01Amen.
03:02Actually two and one on the what, so anyway.
03:07Okay.
03:08Um, I have some questions that are off topic.
03:12Okay.
03:13What you got?
03:14I call these my summer seven.
03:16Okay.
03:17Cause I'm Andy Summers and there's seven questions.
03:19Yeah.
03:20That was seven summers ago.
03:21Barbie.
03:22Barbie or Oppenheimer?
03:23I have no idea who Oppenheimer is.
03:26Who is that?
03:27So you're all in Barbie.
03:28I'm not.
03:29Oppenheimer is like, they were the two really big movies this summer.
03:32Gotcha.
03:33Um, I don't know what that is so I'll just go Barbie.
03:36Okay.
03:37What makes you gag?
03:38What makes me gag?
03:39When I brush my teeth in the morning times and I get real far back on my tongue cause
03:43I gotta have to clean the tongue so my breath will sink.
03:45Yeah.
03:46I gag every time.
03:47So that's appreciate it.
03:48Uh, would you rather have a slow car or fast bike?
03:51Uh, fast bike.
03:54Okay.
03:55Worst experience on stage?
03:56I fell off the stage earlier this year for the first time in my 10 year career doing
04:03this, which is kind of crazy because the stage was set up weird and the club had no idea
04:08doing it.
04:09So I was blinded by the light and when I went to step, there was nothing there.
04:12Ugh.
04:13I went straight at it.
04:14So great, great press by the way.
04:17I should fall off the stage more often.
04:19Fantastic.
04:20Yeah.
04:21But no, don't.
04:22No.
04:23I was bruised.
04:24That sounds horrible.
04:25Like that.
04:26Yeah.
04:27Um, okay.
04:28Would you rather have the ability to read people's minds or move things with your mind?
04:32Um, probably read people's minds.
04:37Yeah.
04:38Okay.
04:39I feel like I can do that already.
04:41You think I'm an idiot.
04:44Oh, shoot.
04:45Okay.
04:46All right.
04:47You're going to think I'm an idiot when I ask you this next question.
04:51You're at a party.
04:52Okay.
04:53And you have to go number two.
04:54Okay.
04:55And there's only one bathroom.
04:56And you know you're going to clog it.
04:59Oh yeah.
05:00So do you use the bathroom or do you sneak behind the bushes in the backyard?
05:04I'm going to use the bathroom.
05:06And I'm going to blame it on somebody else.
05:08Yes.
05:09Yeah.
05:10You have to, right?
05:11First of all, we've all been there.
05:12So, I mean, I've done it.
05:13You know what I'm saying?
05:14I did.
05:15I was like, I wasn't me.
05:16You know?
05:17Right.
05:18But the bushes.
05:19You're not going to the bushes.
05:20That's a horrible option.
05:21Yeah.
05:22What are you going to, if you go to the bushes, like what are you going to wipe with?
05:24Yeah.
05:25I don't know.
05:26I don't want to think about that anymore.
05:27It's a nasty question you just asked me.
05:28Okay.
05:29So I didn't want to end on that one.
05:30So here it is.
05:31Okay.
05:32What's one thing you wish you could do better?
05:35Do better.
05:36I mean, I feel like we wake up every day wanting to do better, right?
05:42I'm getting like real deep on that.
05:43Yes, you are.
05:44Yeah.
05:45We wake up every day wanting to do better.
05:46Yeah.
05:47I mean, we should all want to do better.
05:48Why?
05:49Yeah.
05:50Yeah.
05:51Every day is a school day.
05:52Learn a little more and do a little better.
05:53Absolutely.
05:54Work a little harder.
05:55You can't work harder.
05:56You're already working the hardest.
05:57You're putting us in shame.
05:58We're working hard, but I mean, we could probably do better.
06:00Do better.
06:01I should do your new, you should get t-shirts.
06:03Dylan Scott says, do better.
06:05Do better.
06:06Dylan Scott, thank you so much.
06:08I appreciate it.
06:09We are at Tidal Wave having a great time on 92.5XD.
