00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office, I'm Marco Pitagno.
00:04Low pressure is set to dominate the weather over the next few days, and this will bring
00:07outbreaks of rain to many parts of the UK.
00:09Fairly tightly packed isobars at times, so it will be fairly breezy too, but then later
00:13in the week, certainly through Thursday and Friday, pressure will start to build across
00:16the UK, and that promises to quieten the weather down.
00:19Looking at things though in more detail as we go through the evening into the overnight
00:22period, we've got some showers down across the south and southeast of England to start
00:26with, they will tend to fade away, leaving some mist and fog patches as we head into
00:30the early hours of Monday, whereas towards the west, those showers will start to gather
00:33themselves, giving way to some more persistent outbreaks of rain at times across parts of
00:37Northern Ireland, Wales and the southwest of England.
00:40So we'll see the clearest skies up towards the northeast, certainly across northeastern
00:43parts of Scotland, and in rural parts here, we could see a touch of frost by Monday morning,
00:48temperatures down into low single figures, whereas out towards the south and west, with
00:51the cloud and those outbreaks of rain, temperatures generally hold up near double figures.
00:56As for Monday, we'll see plenty of bright weather to start the morning across those northern
00:59and eastern parts of the UK, but that band of rain across the south and west will gradually
01:04move north and eastwards across most areas as we go through the day, giving a few heavy
01:07bursts of rain in places.
01:09Skies will start to brighten across the south and west, certainly as we head into the afternoon,
01:13but that could also spark off a few heavy, even locally thundery showers, and the best
01:17of the afternoon brightness is developing down towards the southwest.
01:20Temperatures still doing quite well for the time of year in the sunshine, peaking at 16 or
01:2417 Celsius, 17 down towards the southeast is 63 in Fahrenheit, a bit cooler up towards
01:29the north under the cloud than those outbreaks of rain.
01:33As we head into the evening, and certainly into Tuesday, rain becomes more confined towards
01:37the northeast of the UK, so northeast of Scotland still seeing fairly wet conditions at times.
01:41Elsewhere, plenty of sunshine, so a much brighter day on the cars, just one or two showers, although
01:45later in the day, notice some more persistent outbreaks of rain starting to reach Ireland.
01:50In the sunshine, once again, temperature is doing quite well, peaking at the mid to high
01:53teens Celsius, a high in the southeast of 17 Celsius, 63 in Fahrenheit.
01:58That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast
