30 November - National weather forecast presented by Marco Petagna
Transcript
00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Marco Pitania. We've got
00:04mild air in place across the UK at the moment, thanks to a south to south-westerly air stream.
00:08But notice over the next few days we start to draw air down from the north, those blue
00:11colours indicating a drop in temperature, certainly during the first part of the coming
00:15week.
00:16Back to the detail now for this evening and through the overnight period. It stays mostly
00:19fine towards the south-east, largely cloudy but mostly dry here. But notice elsewhere
00:23outbreaks of rain moving in from the south and west, so turning fairly wet across most
00:27areas as we go through the overnight period. Some of those outbreaks of rain could well
00:30be quite heavy. And then later in the night we start to see some clear air tucking in
00:34across Northern Ireland, the north and west of Scotland.
00:37A very blustery night to come, particularly towards the north and north-west. Here we're
00:40likely to see some gales at times. But wherever you are, it's very mild for the time of year,
00:44certainly frost free, temperatures no lower than 8 to 10 Celsius, 10 is 50 in Fahrenheit
00:49in some parts holding up near a 12 or 13 degrees.
00:53As for Sunday, well, a pretty unsettled day is on the cards across the UK. Bands of rain
00:57moving in from the west making their way eastward through the day. Again, some of the rain could
01:00be on the heavy side at times. Those bands of rain interspersed by some bright or sunny
01:04spells and those brisk to blustery winds towards the north and north-west gradually easing
01:09down as we go through the day.
01:11Once again, it's pretty mild for the time of year. We'll see our highs in the afternoon
01:14of up to 13 or 14 degrees, possibly even locally 15 down towards the south, that's into the
01:18mid to upper 50s in Fahrenheit. And towards the north, 12 degrees is several degrees above
01:22the values we expect at this time of the year.
01:25Heading into the evening and through the overnight period, we'll start to see some colder air
01:29tucking down from the north and that will make further inroads south across northern
01:32parts of the UK during Monday. Showers turning increasingly wintry, especially across the
01:36high ground in Scotland and starting to feel pretty chilly with that northerly breeze developing.
01:40England and Wales, though, still fairly mild at this point with largely cloudy skies moving
01:44in from the north and some outbreaks of rain. Temperatures still on the positive side and
01:48still quite mild down towards the south, but notice in the north there feeling much
01:52colder with a northerly breeze. Highs no better than 5 or 6 degrees by Monday afternoon.
01:58That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to The Met Office Forecast
02:01by following us on social media and by subscribing to our YouTube channel. I'll see you soon.
02:06Take care. Bye bye.
