25 April - National weather forecast presented by Honor Criswick.
Transcript
00:00Hello there, good evening.
00:01We're going to finish off the week with some quite low clouds, some fog and even some outbreaks
00:07of rain.
00:08It's been a very wet end to the week across parts of Northern Ireland where we've seen
00:11some quite heavy outbreaks of rain at times, eventually clearing its way eastwards, moving
00:15into western parts of Scotland, western parts of England and Wales too.
00:19It'll eventually clear Northern Ireland during the early hours of the morning, turning drier
00:24here with some clear skies.
00:25With light winds, it means we're likely to see some fog, particularly across Northern
00:29Ireland, but also a chance that we'll see some foggy patches towards the southeast as well.
00:34But overall, there's going to be plenty of cloud overnight, some outbreaks of rain towards
00:39the west, but that does mean it's going to keep temperatures largely mild.
00:43A fairly damp start once again in the west, western parts of Scotland, Wales, southwestern
00:49parts of England seeing some outbreaks of rain, largely turning light through the course of
00:53the morning.
00:54And as we head into the afternoon, turning more showery in nature, which means a chance
00:58we could see some bright, even sunny spells in between.
01:00Though the old shower could be heavy, particularly across Scotland, but for Northern Ireland it's
01:05going to be a much better start to the weekend compared to Friday.
01:08Much drier, feeling much warmer too.
01:10And anywhere across the southeast where you catch the sunshine, it's going to be feeling
01:13rather pleasant, highs of around 19 degrees Celsius.
01:16Into the evening, there's still going to be a fairly decent amount of cloud, particularly
01:21in the west, though it should start to clear through the morning, though a good chance once
01:25again that we could see some fog patches.
01:27And once again, a return of the cloud and rain, this time in further across the northwest.
01:32So once again, the northwest of Scotland catching some rain by the time we reach the morning,
01:36perhaps some light outbreaks across Northern Ireland at a fair amount of low cloud too.
01:40But once again, a fairly mild night, lows only reaching around six to seven degrees Celsius.
01:45And Sunday for many is probably going to be the better day of the weekend, particularly
01:49across the southern half.
01:51Lots more sunshine and temperatures starting to improve day by day.
01:55So once again, feeling very warm in the light winds.
01:57Not such great news if you are taking part in the London or Manchester Marathon, it is going
02:01to feel rather warm, but good if you are a spectator.
02:05And a slightly different story across the northwest of Scotland, slightly cooler here, more cloud
02:09and those outbreaks of rain tending to continue and still quite blustery on coastal areas
02:14as well.
02:15But across the southeast, highs reaching around 22 degrees Celsius, so feeling very warm.
02:21Now as we go into next week, high pressure that's dominating across the south and southeast,
02:26that tends to stick around.
02:28And that means there's going to be plenty more sunshine to come and temperatures improving
02:32by a degree or two day by day.
02:34But by the time we reach Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures getting very warm is a good chance
02:37we could see around 26 to 27 degrees Celsius.
02:40There is going to be more cloud and rain at times across the far north, but otherwise many
02:45of us seeing lots of dry weather, lots of warm sunshine and many areas reaching the mid-twenties.
02:50So don't forget to stay subscribed and then you won't miss any weather updates.
02:55Bye for now.
