00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office, I'm Marco Pitagno.
00:03We're starting Monday on a fairly bright note towards the north and east of the UK,
00:07but we do have a band of rain working its way in from the south and west, starting off
00:10across Northern Ireland, Wales and the south-west of England.
00:13As we go through the day, that will continue to progress north-eastwards across many areas,
00:16giving a few heavy bursts of rain in places.
00:19Skies will tend to brighten towards the south and west, but that could well spark off a
00:22few heavy, potentially even thundery showers as we head into the afternoon, with the best
00:26of the afternoon sunshine developing towards the south-west of England, especially later
00:29on in the day.
00:31Temperatures aren't doing too badly at all for the time of year, especially in the sunshine
00:34across the south and south-west, peaking at 16 or 17 Celsius, 17 there in London is 63
00:39in Fahrenheit.
00:40Always a bit cooler though towards the north and north-east, given the cloud, those outbreaks
00:44of rain and a bit more of a breeze blowing here too.
00:47Into the evening and through the overnight period, those outbreaks of rain will continue to progress
00:50north and north-eastwards, sitting across the north-east of Scotland as we head into
00:53the early hours of Tuesday, but elsewhere it will become mostly dry into the early hours.
00:58With a lot of clear weather around and with fairly light winds too, it's set to turn quite
01:02chilly, we could well see a touch of frost forming in many rural spots as we head into
01:06the Tuesday morning.
01:07As for Tuesday itself, we'll hold on to those outbreaks of rain across the far north-east
01:11of the UK.
01:12So across north-east Scotland, rain on and off here throughout the day, but elsewhere a lot
01:15of fine weather in store, bright if not sunny conditions, just isolated showers popping
01:19off into the afternoon.
01:21But out towards the west and far north-west of the UK there, some more persistent spells
01:25of rain arriving towards the end of the afternoon.
01:28Temperatures again in the sunshine doing quite well, up to 16 or 17 Celsius, a bit cooler towards
01:32the north and north-east, but on the whole, temperature is still above the seasonal average.
01:37That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast
