00:00Well, it couldn't last forever. The fine sunny weather most of us have been enjoying through the last, well, week or so is going to come to a bit of an end as we go through this weekend.
00:10That being said, though, for the time being, still high pressure across the country.
00:14Yes, there is a weak front towards the far north, which has brought a bit of cloud and will continue to bring a bit more rain across the far north of Scotland as we go overnight.
00:22But that edge is further north and otherwise, really, it is going to be a dry and mostly clear night.
00:27Just a few pockets of mist and fog developing, particularly across some parts of the east and maybe the south as well.
00:34Under the clear skies, like we've seen through some recent nights, temperatures will take a bit of a dip.
00:38So a bit chilly for some of us. Towns and cities generally holding up a few degrees above freezing.
00:43But some rural spots, particularly low levels, we are going to see a touch of frost.
00:49I say low levels because we actually have a thing called a temperature inversion around at the moment.
00:53So a layer of slightly warmer air higher up.
00:56And if you're below that inversion, so in the valleys, that's where we could see those lowest temperatures.
01:01But actually, if you're on higher ground above the inversion, contrary to what often happens, higher ground will actually be one of the warmer places overnight.
01:10But nonetheless, as we go through tomorrow, yes, a bright, fine, but fresh start for most of us.
01:15However, in the southwest, we're quite quickly going to see a bit more clouds spilling its way in ahead of some showery rain that's going to push initially across Devon and Cornwall, then feeding into parts of Wales as well.
01:26And then further in across the southwest as well as we go through the afternoon.
01:30Some of these showers could be a bit on the heavy side.
01:33So do watch out and they are going to spill up the Irish Sea, fringing into Northern Ireland and pushing into parts of southwest Scotland as well.
01:41Further east and also across northern parts, clinging on to some fine sunny weather for a little while longer.
01:48And we still have some pretty warm air across eastern parts as well.
01:51In fact, the air is technically a little bit warmer than the air we have across us at the moment.
01:56So with that, we could see some high temperatures again, 22, 23, possibly 24 Celsius across some parts of the east.
02:04But although we have warmer air, it is offset a little bit by the fact that there will be a bit more cloud around as that cloud feeds in as we go through the day.
02:12Further west, we're going to see temperatures a little bit lower than of late and obviously feeling a bit less pleasant in the showery rain.
02:18Worth bearing in mind, UV levels, particularly towards the east, where we cling on to the sunshine for that little bit longer, will be moderate, almost high in some places.
02:27So do take care if you're going to be out for any prolonged periods of time and also pollen levels at the moment.
02:33They are very high across much of England and Wales and even high or moderate to high across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
02:40Yes, at this time of year, we're talking tree pollen, which only affects around 25 percent of people who suffer from hay fever.
02:47It's not quite like grass pollen, which is much more of an issue later on in the year.
02:51But nonetheless, some of us will have been already feeling the effects of the high pollen levels and will continue to do so as we go into Saturday.
03:00But thereafter on Saturday, the showery rain in the west-southwest becomes more widespread, spills its way across pretty much the whole of the country overnight.
03:08So most of us will see a bit of rain, welcome rain for some people.
03:13Any farmers, any gardeners could do with a bit of wet weather coming through.
03:16And it is going to push through overnight and then clear away towards the east.
03:20Because of the change to something a bit more changeable, our temperatures through Saturday night are nowhere near as low as they have been recently.
03:27In fact, some places holding up in double figures.
03:30So yes, definitely less of a fresh start on Sunday morning, but it will be a bit cloudier.
03:34There will still be a bit of showery rain affecting Aberdeenshire, for example, but that clears away.
03:39And then just a rash of showers following in behind.
03:42They're going to be fairly hit and miss, quite scattered.
03:46And there will be some bright sunny spells in between the showers as well.
03:49But there's still the potential that some of the showers could be a little bit on the heavy side, perhaps.
03:55But most of us will actually have a decent amount of dry weather, albeit it's not going to be totally dry and nowhere near as sunny as it has been through much of this week.
04:04With that front that's going through, yes, it's bringing some showery rain.
04:07Also, some cooler, fresher air that's coming in.
04:10And so temperatures will be markedly lower than they have been of late.
04:13And it's worth bearing in mind, in the east, we're still looking at mid, possibly high teens Celsius.
04:17So that's only, well, it's around average for the time of year, just not so far above average like we've kind of got used to recently.
04:24As we go through into next week, there is more changeable weather on the way.
04:28We've said goodbye to high pressure and said low pressure will be nearby.
04:31The details, well, we need to firm up on those a little bit.
04:34But nonetheless, we can expect some showery rain pushing its way through.
04:37And there is the risk that at times that could turn a little bit on the heavy side.
04:41We could even see some rumbles of thunder.
04:43So definitely one to stay on top of, especially if you're on Easter holidays at the moment.
