00:00Hello again. Not much, if any, rain in the forecast for the next couple of days.
00:04The high pressure that's brought the settled weather to start the week is going to stick around for a little while yet.
00:11With that high pressure, we've had a lot of sunshine through the day and we're going to have a lot of clear skies to start the night in particular.
00:17That's because as we go through the night, the thicker cloud across the far north of Scotland is going to push a little bit further southwards,
00:23down the eastern side of Scotland and also some clouds, some low clouds, some murkiness is going to push in from the North Sea down the eastern side of England as well.
00:33There could be some mist, some fog mixed in with this.
00:36Elsewhere, further west, lots of clear skies, a few pockets of mist and fog, particularly across parts of Northern Ireland.
00:42And where we get those clear skies, we are going to see temperatures dropping again.
00:46Similar to last night, a bit chilly, particularly in rural spots where a touch of frost is quite likely, particularly across parts of western Scotland.
00:53And where we get those clear skies, temperatures could drop a few degrees below freezing.
00:57A little bit less chilly further east where we have that cloud.
01:00Then through tomorrow, yes, a chilly start and a bit of a west-east split when it comes to cloud amounts in the west.
01:05Lots of bright, sunny weather, further east, a cloudier, greyer start and, yes, some murkiness too.
01:10But a lot of that is going to lift and break up and burn away and retreat back to the coast as we go through the day.
01:18That being said, across some eastern coastal parts, particularly of England,
01:21I am expecting some of that cloud to be pretty persistent, linger through much of the day.
01:27And if you're stuck under that cloud, when you factor in the brisk wind, which is going to be stronger across eastern parts tomorrow compared to today,
01:35it's actually going to feel a bit chilly across some eastern parts.
01:38Also a bit of a breeze towards the south coast.
01:40But away from the east with that cloud, there's going to be lots of sunshine.
01:44And with that, for many, it's going to feel pleasantly warm.
01:46Temperatures similar to what we've seen so far this week, mid to high teens for most of us.
01:51Worth bearing in mind, lots of sunshine.
01:53We do need to take into account our UV levels.
01:56The sun's about as strong at this time of year as in mid to late August.
02:00And so do take care if you're going to be out in the sun for prolonged periods of time.
02:04And as well as this, whilst most hay fever sufferers don't feel the effects of tree pollen,
02:08which is what we're seeing at the moment.
02:10Nonetheless, if you are affected by tree pollen, you'll have no doubt noticed that we do actually have some high,
02:15very high levels across western parts at the moment.
02:18That will continue into Wednesday.
02:20One positive of the cloudier, cooler weather towards the east is that pollen levels here are going to be low or moderate.
02:27Through the evening on Wednesday, we are going to see a bit more cloud coming in from the North Sea,
02:31affecting eastern, southeastern parts of England in particular.
02:35And that will spread even further as we go overnight.
02:37But because the high pressure changes its position slightly, our wind direction changes as well.
02:43And so across parts of Scotland where it will be, well, eastern Scotland where it's going to turn cloudier
02:47through Tuesday night into Wednesday, it's a different story Wednesday night into Thursday
02:51with largely clear skies here across many, yeah, northern and western parts it's looking largely clear.
02:57But with that then, again, we could see a few pockets of mist and fog.
03:00Northern Ireland, northwest England, Scotland likely to see a few.
03:04And a touch of frost is again quite likely in rural spots.
03:07So towns and cities generally holding up a few degrees above freezing, even where we get the clear skies.
03:12But away from these, it is likely to be a touch frosty for some on Thursday morning,
03:17milder towards the southeast because of this cloud.
03:20But again, we are going to see this cloud breaking up and lifting as we go through the day.
03:25It may take a little while during the morning, but by the afternoon across pretty much the whole of the UK,
03:31it is looking pretty sunny.
03:33Lots of blue skies on offer, not everywhere.
03:35The far north of Scotland, particularly Orkney and Shetland, like we've seen through much of this week so far here,
03:40it's actually going to stay pretty cloudy.
03:42And that cloud could be thick enough for a few spots of light drizzly rain.
03:46Not much, but just a few.
03:48Elsewhere, yes, dry and often sunny.
03:51With that then, temperatures on the warm side.
03:53And again, because of that change in wind direction,
03:56for some places, temperatures are going to be markedly higher on Thursday compared to Wednesday.
04:01This will be most noticeable around eastern parts of Scotland and eastern, northeastern England.
04:06And some places could be around 10 to 12 degrees warmer on Thursday compared to Wednesday.
04:11In fact, across eastern, or across Scotland, it's likely to be the warmest day of the year so far.
04:16As we look further ahead through the rest of the week,
04:19and there is a system that's going to edge its way in from the north.
04:22And so a bit of drizzly rain likely across far northern parts as we go into Friday.
04:27That's going to try to push a bit further southwards as we go through into the weekend.
04:30But actually, for many, staying fine for a little while yet before a change to something a little bit more unsettled
04:37as we go through the latter part of the weekend and into next week.
04:41The fine weather couldn't last forever.
04:43I'll see you again soon.
04:44Bye-bye.
