00:00Hello again. A bit of a chilly feel to things for many of us today. And there are some showers
00:05around as well. These are mainly towards the north and east today because we have a north
00:10northeasterly flow pushing its way across the country, dragging in those showers and
00:15dragging in some cold Arctic air, which is why temperatures for many are going to be
00:19quite a bit lower than they were yesterday. Like I said, though, the showers today mainly
00:24across parts of Scotland and down the eastern side of England as well. We're bearing in
00:28mind some of these showers, especially in the north, could be a bit wintry, some sleet,
00:32some snow above two to three hundred metres or so. There could also be a bit of hail,
00:36bit of thunder mixed in with them, perhaps even a bit of graupel at times too. Further
00:40south and west, very few if any showers reaching here, so it's looking mostly dry and there
00:45should be some bright sunny spells for most of us as well, albeit a bit more cloud developing
00:49as we go through the day. Like I said, a chilly feel to things though. In the south, temperatures
00:54markedly lower than they were yesterday, a good four to five degrees lower for some
00:58places, just about scraping into double figures at ten, maybe eleven Celsius towards the far
01:04south. Further north, temperatures on paper may be a degree or so higher than yesterday,
01:10could get to double figures perhaps around the central belt. But when you factor in that
01:14brisk wind coming in from the north, it is going to feel pretty chilly indeed. More showers
01:19to come as we go through the end of the day. In fact, they're actually going to become
01:22a bit more widespread. They'll push their way southwards, so a scattering of showers
01:26across Northern Ireland through the evening and then some showers developing overnight
01:30across parts of central, southern England and Wales. But in between the showers, there
01:35will be some clear skies and with the colder air, the clear skies, perfect ingredients
01:39for our temperatures to take a bit of a dip. So it is going to be a chillier, colder night
01:44than we've seen through some recent nights, especially in the south where we get the clear
01:48touch of frost quite likely and do watch out for some icy stretches where there are wet
01:52surfaces and then temperatures dip below freezing. That means we are going to see some perhaps
01:57difficult driving conditions first thing with some icy patches possible. Otherwise, as we
02:01go through tomorrow and I think on the whole, it is going to be a bit more showery than
02:05today. Greater chance of catching some showers and some heavier ones piling into particularly
02:09northeast England. And again, some sleet, some snow mixed in. We could see a little
02:13bit settling over the higher ground, even some flurries perhaps to lower levels for
02:17a time. Further west, a greater chance of avoiding the showers, but one or two may push
02:22their way in. And all the time, even where you get the showers, there should be some
02:26sunny spells in between any of them. Temperatures are going to be even lower tomorrow than today.
02:32So feeling chilly, especially, well, chilly for the time of year and even more so feeling
02:37it when you factor in the winds. Brisk winds coming from the north northeast means for
02:42some places it's going to feel close to freezing, if not a little bit below. So a real raw feel
02:47to things as we go through into tomorrow. And looking ahead, we stick with the colder
02:51air across us as we go towards the end of the week. There is high pressure out towards
02:55the west. So western areas seeing fewer showers as we go through Thursday and Friday, but
03:00still plenty of showers to come. But by the weekend, that high pressure becomes more dominant.
03:04And so our weather should settle down for a little bit of time. And so it's going to
03:09be largely dry through Saturday and much of Sunday, but we're clinging on to that chilly
03:14air. So not turning especially warm, but with fewer showers around, greater chance of seeing
03:19some decent sunshine. It shouldn't feel too bad at all. I'll see you again soon. Bye bye.
