A major development has surfaced regarding 26/11 Mumbai attacks mastermind Tahawwur Rana. As per top sources, Rana is being extradited to India today from the United States. This marks a critical milestone in the long-pending effort to bring him to justice for his alleged role in the 2008 terror attacks that shook Mumbai and claimed over 160 lives.Rana, a close associate of David Headley, helped conduct detailed surveillance of key locations in Mumbai, including the Taj Hotel, where he stayed during one of his visits. Both operated an immigration business as a front, which helped Headley obtain visas and enter India multiple times. Their reconnaissance was later used by Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba to execute the attacks. After a prolonged legal battle in U.S. courts, Rana’s plea to avoid extradition was denied in 2023. Indian officials, including teams from the NIA, are fully prepared to receive him and take him into custody upon his arrival. He will likely be interrogated in Delhi and later shifted to Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail, where Kasab was once held. This development reflects India’s continued commitment to justice and strong investigative cooperation with the United States.
