00:00Hello there, good morning.
00:01Welcome to your weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Once again, there's going to be plenty of sunshine to go around today, but there's a
00:07chance we could see some mist and fog this morning, particularly across parts of the
00:11south, though it should clear quite readily through the course of the morning, and that
00:15leaves a very pleasant end to the week, wall-to-wall sunshine for many areas.
00:19The only caveat to that is across the far north of Scotland, more cloud pushing in here,
00:23this thick enough to produce some light outbreaks of rain, particularly across Shetland and
00:26Orkney as we head into the afternoon.
00:28A bit breezier across the far north of Scotland, too, but for many areas, light winds, sunshine
00:33and some very warm temperatures, highs of 21, possibly 22 or 23 degrees Celsius.
00:41Into the evening, once again, turning chilly as soon as the sunshine goes down.
00:44It's not going to be turning quite as cold as it has done over recent nights, but a chance
00:48we could still see some frost in rural spots.
00:51Once again, a chance of some mist and fog, too, where we see the light winds.
00:54Still plenty of cloud across the far north of Scotland.
00:57By the time we reach the early hours of the morning, perhaps just a little bit of cloud
01:00just starting to clip into parts of Cornwall.
01:02But a dry night overall, with lows of around 3 to 4 degrees Celsius.
01:08Now for the beginning of the weekend, there is still going to be lots of sunshine around.
01:12Lots of dry weather, feeling warm in the sunnier spells, too.
01:15But we are beginning to see a little bit of a change.
01:18More clouds starting to push in from the southwest, feeding into southern parts of Wales, parts of
01:23Devon and Cornwall.
01:24It's likely we'll see some showers by the time we reach the afternoon.
01:27And similarly, across the very far northwest, western parts of England should start to see
01:31some more cloud push in as we head through into the afternoon.
01:34But across eastern areas, still plenty of blue skies around and still feeling warm.
01:38Highs of 21 to 22 Celsius, but a bit cooler in certain spots.
01:42For example, western parts of Scotland feeling slightly cooler here, but still highs of 15 to
01:4616 degrees Celsius.
01:50Through into Saturday evening, we'll begin to see that change for the second half of
01:55the weekend.
01:56This frontal system moving in its way from the west, this is going to push in more cloud,
02:01outbreaks of rain, and notice these colours behind me, it's also bringing in some slightly
02:04cooler air.
02:05So the warmest days are likely to be Friday and Saturday, and then Sunday, things cooling
02:09off, likely to see plenty of rain and showers, too.
