Most parts of the UK start of with sunshine at the break of dawn, though central England and Wales will get off to a more grey start. Afterwards, while it will continue to be dry for many, the blue skies will give way to increasingly widespread cloud cover as the day goes on but the far south will hold on to the sunshine well into the afternoon.- This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 16/03/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Craig Snell.

00:00Good morning, welcome to your latest Met Office weather update. Well, for most of us today
00:04should be fairly dry, but sunshine certainly going to be at a premium compared to yesterday.
00:10As we start the day, it's going to be quite frosty across the south, but it's here actually
00:14where we will see some sunshine and it will remain that way for some southern counties
00:18throughout the course of the day. Elsewhere, after maybe some initial brightness, clouds
00:23certainly going to be bubbling up today. Could also see a few spots of rain across Northern
00:27Ireland and Northern England. That's all courtesy of an old weather front, which will
00:31be lying here during the course of the day. And then to the north of it, again, a fair
00:35bit of cloud around. But I think for Western Scotland, at least, we should see some decent
00:40bright spells from time to time. Temperatures today on par really with what we saw yesterday
00:46really. So in the brighter skies, we will see highs reaching 10 to 12 degrees Celsius.
00:53As we get into this evening and tonight, most of us actually see a fair amount of cloud.
00:58There are some exceptions, Western Scotland, maybe North West England, Northern Ireland
01:02eventually and also down towards Devon and Cornwall, where we will continue to see some
01:06clearer skies. So here we will potentially see a touch of frost come Monday morning.
01:11But elsewhere, courtesy of the cloud cover, I think most towns and cities certainly staying
01:15above freezing as we begin Monday. But actually, for most of us, we are going to start Monday
01:20off on a fairly grey note. Exceptions up across Western Scotland and Northern Ireland. But
01:25even here, cloud cover will tend to increase as the day goes on. Again, we could just see
01:31a few spots of rain come out of the cloud, but it should be fairly light in nature. And
01:35then we will start to see some changes over towards East Anglia and the southeast later
01:39on, increasing amounts of sunshine here. And that's actually going to be signs of things
01:43to come as we go through the next few days. Temperatures on Monday with the cloud cover
01:49in place, it probably will be a bit colder for most of us compared to the weekend. Temperatures
01:55at best are at 8 or 9 degrees, maybe reaching 10 degrees later on where we start to see
02:00the brighter skies return. And as we move through the next few days into next week,
02:07increasing amounts of sunshine everywhere as we start to see winds come up from the
02:12southeast. That also will allow temperatures to climb, especially in the south. We could
02:16see highs reaching the mid-teens by Wednesday, potentially a little bit warmer than that
02:21as we go towards Thursday and Friday. But you can find out more details about the weather
02:25where you are on our app or on our website. And don't forget to follow us on YouTube.
02:30But from me for now, take care and I'll see you again soon.
