The morning begins with rain in Northern Ireland and Scotland, but it will be dry in England and Wales with sunshine for many first thing. As the day goes on the rain will move north eastwards, clearing Northern Ireland and extending further into Scotland, much the same as it was earlier in the day. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 27/04/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Jonathan Vautrey.

00:00Hello there, a very good morning to you. If you are running the London or
00:04Manchester marathons today there'll be plenty of fine and dry weather for you
00:08and that's all courtesy of these areas of high pressure that are building into
00:11southeastern areas of the UK. Further towards the north and west though we've
00:15got a couple areas of low pressure that are skirting their way through so there's
00:19going to be some outbreaks of rain for Northern Ireland and Scotland throughout
00:22today. Generally it is going to be quite breezy for these two northern nations as
00:27well. Temperatures across the far north of Scotland will be around 12 to 13
00:32degrees Celsius but with a southerly component to the wind for parts of
00:36Northern Ireland, Central and Eastern Scotland climbing towards 18 degrees
00:40Celsius where we start to see a little bit of brightness developing into the
00:43afternoon. But for England and Wales where that sunshine prevails we are going to
00:48be cracking that 20 degrees Celsius threshold. 22, 23 is certainly possible
00:53in London so it is going to be rather warm for the runners so do make
00:57sure you stay hydrated with water. Into the evening and overnight period again it
01:02is going to be staying nicely fine and settled for England and Wales. There'll
01:05be some mist and fog patches developing in there and maybe underneath the
01:09clearest of skies we'll see temperatures drop low enough for a very patchy grass
01:12frost but the cloud is going to be quite persistent for Northern Ireland and
01:16Scotland. Again for the highlands it is going to be a fairly damp night to come
01:21here with further outbreaks of rain but the cloud generally here will hold
01:24temperatures up more around 9 to 11 degrees Celsius. It's going to be very
01:29slow progress through Monday for this rain to eventually clear off so
01:33particularly the outer Hebrides parts of Cape Ness and Silverland could well see
01:36rain lingering for a good portion of the day. Elsewhere though we are going to see
01:41the sunshine developing in a little bit more widely so certainly central eastern
01:45Scotland, Northern Ireland, the far north of England as well. It is looking to be
01:49brighter tomorrow compared to some recent days and again for the rest of England
01:54and Wales some really nice pleasant weather out there for anyone that is
01:58heading outside at all. Temperatures again really responding to that sunshine
02:02more widely cracking that 20 degrees Celsius mark. 23, 24 is now likely possible
02:08towards the south and the east. Temperatures though are going to be rising even
02:12further as we head throughout the rest of this week. Very comfortably above the
02:16typical average for this point in April and certainly likely to be peaking around
02:21Wednesday in the mid 20s for the vast majority of us. There'll be some locations
02:27that even climb higher than that towards the high 20s. So plenty of warm and
02:32perhaps even hot weather on the way for us this next week. Temperatures though
02:37just taking a little bit of a tumble as we head towards the end of next week
02:41and towards the weekend but there'll be plenty more updates of how things will
02:44progress as we do head towards next weekend across our YouTube channel and
02:48across all of our social media as well. So do stay up to date for all of that and
02:52we'll see you again here very soon. Bye bye.
