00:04 >> Hey, Trace, so when you got a game like tonight with everybody,
00:07 you got seven guys and double figures.
00:09 What does that tell you about the movement of the team?
00:10 How y'all were flowing tonight?
00:12 How did y'all, y'all good out there, I imagine?
00:15 >> Yeah, I mean, it always feels good when the ball's going in.
00:18 I mean, sometimes it can tell you that, I mean, everybody's playing good and
00:24 in a rhythm, and sometimes it's just that night, the shots are going in.
00:27 I think previously we've been having a lot of, I mean, good looks offensively in
00:32 a lot of these games recently, just having shots, just having them say,
00:37 went in and tonight they did, and that was the result from it.
00:40 Everybody's feeling good and everybody got to touch it and
00:43 I have shots for going in.
00:44 >> Coach talked about you and DJ playing within the flow of the game.
00:49 What would you say worked well to make it flow in the way that you guys needed it
00:53 to?
00:54 >> I think we just played off each other.
00:57 I mean, take what the defense has given us.
01:00 I mean, they switched to a zone for a second, but
01:05 they switched too much of their coverage the whole game.
01:07 And so we were just picking them apart on the offensive end and
01:13 also getting stopped defensively.
01:14 And that helps your offense and us get down transition and
01:17 running the way we want to.
01:19 And so we had a little lapse there in the late in the third quarter where they
01:23 kind of got back into the game with some transitions and shots going in.
01:26 And but besides that, I think we played pretty good defense the whole game.
01:31 And forcing them to take tough shots and that helped our offense a lot.
01:36 >> What you see from DeAndre tonight is obviously you guys are finally, for
01:41 the most part, healthy and playing together for
01:43 the first time since I think November.
01:45 >> That's crazy.
01:46 Yeah, no, I mean, it's great having Dre back and
01:51 he's a big piece of our team.
01:54 I mean, one of our probably our best defender on the ball with his strength,
01:59 his size, his length.
02:01 And so he brings a lot to our team and offensively, you can shoot the ball,
02:04 he can score.
02:05 If there's a mismatch, you can throw it into him and he can go score.
02:08 So he brings a lot to our team, you just hope he's out there for us.
02:12 And so having him out there for us tonight was good.
02:15 And so I'm sure his minutes will get increased as the week goes on or
02:18 as the games get going.
02:19 So that'll definitely help.
02:23 >> I know it's all just one game, but
02:25 does this maybe paint a clearer picture of what you guys can do when everybody's
02:29 healthy?
02:30 >> I mean, yeah, it definitely can.
02:32 It's just about being consistent with it.
02:34 Anybody, any team can do it one night or two nights in a row.
02:39 You just gotta be consistent with it.
02:40 So we've been saying since the beginning of the year that we've had the talent and
02:45 unfortunately we haven't had the, we've had a little bit of the injury bug on our
02:50 side to start the season.
02:52 But having guys back now and hopefully for the rest of the season,
02:56 it can help us stream together some wins and
03:00 propel us forward to where we wanna go and where we need to be.
03:02 >> Trey, you had 24.7 until the fourth quarter without a free throw attempt.
03:08 What does that say about your ability to score without having to go to
03:11 the free throw line?
03:12 >> Yeah, I mean, I can score without going to the free throw line.
03:16 I know a lot of people think that's all, that's what I need, I need free throws.
03:20 But I mean, I can score, I can score without it.
03:23 I've been scoring without it my whole life.
03:25 So I know how to score without free throws and
03:28 those first three quarters showed you that.
03:30 And I mean, there was some moments that I probably should have shot a couple free
03:33 throws in the first half, but didn't get the calls.
03:36 But still was able to make plays and that's just what you gotta do sometimes.
03:42 >> Trey, the All-Star break, of course, is right around the corner.
03:45 Have you given any thought or consideration to possibly getting in
03:48 the skills competition or the three-point competition this year?
03:50 >> I ain't thought about it right now, not yet.
03:54 >> Trey, Kobe got his first basket tonight.
03:59 You got to see him up close last night, just been watching his game.
04:02 What do you see?
04:02 >> I mean, you can tell that he's been, I mean, I'm the type of guy,
04:09 I watch guys from a distance and see how they act, how they learn.
04:14 You can tell he's a sponge to learning.
04:16 Even when he's on the bench with us tonight, he sits right next to me a lot
04:20 when I'm on the bench and he's just watching.
04:22 You can tell we're talking.
04:24 You can tell he's learning.
04:25 So whenever I'm watching him in the G League, doing what he does and
04:28 coming off screens, it's just too easy for him down there.
04:31 And I mean, that's what it's supposed to be if you're a league dude.
04:36 And he's definitely a league dude.
04:37 And he's just down there getting reps and you can tell what he's doing down there.
04:41 He's paying off for him and ultimately one day it's gonna help him up here.
04:45 And so I've been loving seeing what he's doing for our G League team.
04:49 And I mean, I just want him to stay with it and stay at it.
04:53 Cuz one day he's gonna get his opportunity and it's gonna pay off for him.
04:56 So I'm loving what I'm seeing from him.
04:58 Cuz he can do it all.
04:59 He can do a lot of things.
05:02 >> Hey Trey, back here.
05:04 Last three wins you guys had were all kind of on last second game winners.
05:07 This one you guys led the entire second half by double digits.
05:11 What kind of this one were you guys enabled you to keep the gas on the pedal,
05:16 I guess, your foot on the pedal?
05:17 And how nice was it to win without kind of having to sweat it out at the end?
05:21 >> It's always nice when you don't have to sweat it out at the end.
05:24 But I think tonight it was just us making shots.
05:28 I mean, sometimes it's the difference in wins and losses.
05:30 You're just making or missing shots.
05:32 And early on we were making shots and we knew they played last night.
05:36 So we knew we needed to get up and down and run, play in transition and
05:40 play fast.
05:42 And we knew how the game would go on, they were tired down.
05:46 That's just what they did.
05:47 We were making shots and sometimes when you don't make shots,
05:50 it allows them to stay in the game and have a rhythm and feel good about themselves.
05:54 But nights like tonight when you make shots,
05:57 they can't have that type of feeling, so.
06:00 >> Thank you, Trey.
