00:00Speaker, you know, the original Medicaid program was designed to help the disabled, pregnant women,
00:07seniors, children. Then there was this expansion that came along and it's filled with able-bodied
00:13adults of working age who could be working. That is the fastest growing program in the United
00:20States today. And they pay out about $100 billion a year in, frankly, lost payments.
00:28So the Republicans want to deal with that. And how we're dealing with it is an increase in funding
00:36over the next 10 years of 25%. But by golly, we just heard somebody say, we're going to gut it,
00:42going to gut it. Only in Washington and D.C. will someone say an increase in spending is a cut.
00:50That's the weirdness of this place. But this is the reality and this is the facts right here.
