00:00Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker. I'm sure what you're going to hear on the floor today is what you've heard in the past.
00:07These rumors that somehow those mean, nasty Republicans are going to cut Medicaid.
00:13And you know, it reminds me of what Groucho Marx once said, who are you going to believe, these claims or your lying eyes?
00:21This is the graph of what the Republican plan is for Medicaid spending over the next 10 years.
00:28This assumes that we actually get all the able-bodied, single people without children on Medicaid to agree to work 20 hours a week or volunteer at a church or train.
00:41Doesn't seem like too much. The average American thinks that's pretty reasonable.
00:45And if we eliminate all the fraud, waste and abuse, and there's plenty of it, we're left with at least a 25% increase in Medicaid over the past 10 years.
00:57Over the last, over the next 10 years from the current spending level.
01:00Only in Washington could anyone claim that's a cut.
01:04Mr. Speaker, who are you going to believe? The claims or your lying eyes? I yield back.
01:13Thank you. For what purpose does the gentlewoman from Ohio seek recognition?
