00:01For what purpose does the gentleman from North Carolina seek recognition?
00:04I seek unanimous consent to address the House for one minute and to revise and extend my
00:07remarks.
00:08Without objection, the gentleman is recognized for one minute.
00:11Why is the federal government spending more taxpayer dollars on health care for illegal
00:16aliens and basement bums instead of those who truly need it?
00:20For the past several weeks have been fearful rumblings on both sides of the aisle about
00:24reforming Medicaid.
00:26But here's the bottom line.
00:28If we fail to act now and allow millions more working, capable adults to continue to freeload
00:35off Obamacare expansion, taxpayers will bear the burden of what will become a $1 trillion
00:42program.
00:43Obamacare significantly expanded Medicaid and is quickly bankrupting the program.
00:48Ironically, Medicaid expansion has shifted the resources away from the most vulnerable
00:53Americans, single moms, infants, and the disabled in favor of work-capable adults.
00:59If 30-year-olds living in their parents' house get more federal Medicaid benefits than pregnant
01:04single mothers, then it's clear the system is utterly broken and in dire need of reform.
01:10We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity before us to finally do what we said we would do.
01:16Mr. Speaker, I yield back my time.
01:23Thank you very much.
