00:01Mr. Speaker, a lot of times on this floor and in the press,
00:04you hear about how the Republicans somehow are cutting Medicaid or slashing Medicaid.
00:10But the facts are that in the Republican budget resolution,
00:15we increase Medicaid expenditures by at least 25% over the next 10 years.
00:21Yes, we will fight fraud, waste, and abuse.
00:24We think the American people agree that fraud, waste, and abuse robs the Medicaid system
00:30from covering the people like the disabled, the elderly, pregnant women, children.
00:35It robs money from those programs and wastes it.
00:40So even after we eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse,
00:43we have enough to increase Medicaid expenditures by at least 25% over the next 10 years.
00:50Those are the facts.
00:52There's no cutting going on.
00:53There's no slashing.
00:55There's elimination of fraud, waste, and abuse.
00:59And it's about time that happened to the U.S. government bureaucracy,
01:04not only in Medicaid, but across the government.
