00:00Hello there, a very good morning to you. After yesterday's widely dry and sunny start to
00:05the weekend, there is a chance of a touch more rain around today, courtesy of a few
00:10weather fronts that are lingering, one towards the far north west of the UK, a nowhere that's
00:14being brought in by this area of low pressure towards the south. Despite that though, winds
00:19moving in an anti-clockwise direction around the low means that we're dragging in a south-easterly
00:24breeze and some very warm air from parts of continental Europe.
00:28Nevertheless though, we are already starting to see the presence of some showers down towards
00:32the south-west, moving from the Channel Islands up to areas of the west country. Part of Wales
00:37and the West Midlands could also see some showers developing into the afternoon, potentially
00:40on the sharp and thundery side in places. The afternoon will tend to turn quite cloudy for
00:45Northern Ireland with some outbreaks of rain, a few showers for Northern and Western Scotland
00:49as well, but elsewhere managing to stay dry with a good amount of sunshine still and temperatures
00:53really responding to that with highs of 25 maybe 26 degrees Celsius inland. What is a little bit
00:59cooler out towards the coasts where we do have that breeze coming in off the North Sea. Nevertheless,
01:04the sunshine is going to be strong. Where we see the orange colours here, that's where we have high
01:09UV levels expected today. Moderate UV levels out towards the west where there is that touch more
01:15cloud around, but certainly skin protection is advised if you're going to be in that sunshine for
01:19prolonged periods of time today. As we head throughout this evening and overnight we'll
01:24continue to see these showers coming in from the south and the west. Again, potential that they will
01:29be thundery in nature, certainly some heavy downpours continuing. Our easterly breeze out in the North
01:34Sea though is going to provide some quite low cloud for the far northeast of England into eastern areas
01:39of Scotland as well, so it will turn a little bit misty and murky here. Temperatures though mostly on the
01:45mild sides ranging between 10 and 14 degrees Celsius across Northern Ireland, England and Wales. Just a
01:51little bit cooler where we have the clearest of skies up towards northern areas of Scotland.
01:56The cloud along eastern coastal districts here will gradually burn back as we head into the morning
02:01period, but it could linger for the Northern Isles for a good portion of Monday. Nevertheless,
02:06inland and mainland areas of Scotland managing to see a decent amount of sunshine. The showers will
02:11continue their way northwards throughout the day. There is an uncertainty in regards to exactly how
02:16widespread these showers could occur, but certainly they'll still bring the risk of thunder, lightning
02:21and some hail in there as well. Rain is needed after a very dry spring so far. However, these showers are
02:29likely to be short, sharp and provide those torrential downpours that will run off very quickly off the
02:35dry ground that we currently have and that could lead to some localised impacts that it's worth taking care
02:40of and staying up to date with the latest forecast as we head into Monday. Nevertheless, we still have
02:45that very warm air in place, so highs again are 25, 26 degrees Celsius, maybe even that little bit more
02:51widely during the day. The area of low pressure that is bringing in these showers will eventually retreat
02:57its way back towards the south and that allows high pressure to build in again for the middle of next
03:02week. So things generally settling down once again, there'll be plentiful amounts of sunshine to enjoy as we head
03:07later on. We'll now have more updates on that on the YouTube channel, so do subscribe. Otherwise, enjoy the rest
03:12of your day. Bye-bye.
