00:00Hello there and very good evening to you. I hope you've been able to enjoy some of
00:04the widespread sunshine that we've had around today. Whilst high pressure has
00:08been in charge during this first half of the weekend, increasing as we head into
00:12Sunday it's areas of low pressure that are going to make their influence known.
00:15One in the northwest and one in the southwest. This one in the north is
00:19making a very slow progress and so it will hold off for the time being and many
00:24will stay dry. To the south though we are going to see some showers spreading
00:28from the Channel Islands and towards the West Country during the forthcoming
00:31night. Clear spells for many elsewhere even though it is going to be a mild
00:36night for the vast majority. Temperatures holding up around 10 to 12 degrees
00:40Celsius in some locations as we kick off in the morning. We'll be watching as the
00:45showers continue to push their way northwards in the south. Some of them
00:48have the potential to turn quite heavy and fundery in locations so do watch out
00:53as they spread their way in. Moving into parts of Wales, maybe the West Midlands
00:57into the afternoon as well. The second half of the day will turn quite cloudy for
01:00northern Ireland with some longer spells of rain moving in and showers also
01:04developing for western and northern areas of Scotland. But while you hold on to
01:08the sunshine elsewhere it is going to be feeling very warm for the time of year.
01:11Highs of 25 maybe 26 degrees Celsius for some of us. Always just that little bit
01:17fresher across eastern coastal districts where we do have a breeze moving in off the
01:22north sea and as we head into this overnight period there will be some mist
01:27and low cloud being dragged in from the sea particularly for the northeast of
01:31England up towards eastern areas of Scotland turning a little bit misty and
01:34murky here. The rain continuing for parts of northern Ireland overnight and we'll
01:38continue to see the showers spreading in from the southwest as well moving into
01:42further areas of Wales and other areas of England as we head throughout the day.
01:45There is uncertainty in regards to the exact extent of these showers so I
01:49wouldn't take these graphics too literally at this stage but it gives you a
01:52broad sense of where some of those heavy fundery downpours may be moving
01:56their way through. So it is worth taking care over the course of Monday and
01:59staying up to date with the forecast some localized impacts are possible hail
02:04and lightning in the mix as well. Despite that though we are still filtering in
02:09some quite warm air from the southeast and so temperatures will still be
02:13climbing towards those highs of 26 degrees Celsius in places so quite humid with
02:18some of the thunderstorms around but still very warm indeed. And as we head into
02:23the rest of next week our area of low pressure will gradually say goodbye to
02:28areas of the UK moving towards the south and that allows high pressure to build in
02:32once again so conditions will be settling down for all of us widespread
02:36sunshine developing in there and temperatures remaining above average for
02:40the time of year low to mid 20s is possible for many throughout the forthcoming week. There'll be plenty more updates on all of that across our
02:48YouTube channel though so do subscribe and we'll see you again here very soon. Bye bye!
