00:00All right, Dave Sports, what do we got, man?
00:02Okay, let's start with football, where the Jets just fell short in their comeback against the Kansas City Chiefs.
00:10The Chiefs defeated Gang Green on Sunday night football, 23-20.
00:15Would it surprise you that after all my trash talk against Zach Wilson, that I actually think he played a pretty good game last night?
00:21It would surprise me. He was good.
00:23Zach Wilson completed a career-high 28 passes on 39 attempts for 245 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions.
00:32That ain't bad, man.
00:33While posting a career-high 105.2 passer rating. That's actually excellent.
00:39I mean, the fumble kind of sucked, but...
00:41Yep, fumble was no good, but hey, listen, I'll be honest, the Chiefs were helped out by back-to-back just terrible calls.
00:50No calls and calls.
00:51Patrick Mahomes threw an interception in the second half that was negated because they called a defensive holding penalty on Sauce Gardner, and he did not hold them.
01:02There was no hold. There was no hold.
01:04Furthermore, on 3rd-and-22, and this was a massive, massive play in the game, 3rd-and-22, Mahomes scrambled for a first down on his legs, but there was a blatant holding penalty that the Chiefs committed on that play.
01:21And that run should not have counted at all.
01:24Yeah, no, that stunk. Those two things really sank us.
01:27It's a shame.
01:28He didn't play badly, though.
01:30No, he played well, actually.
01:32Not correct.
01:33I mean, listen, let's not say he's...
01:35He didn't suck.
01:36You know, he's not the guy in Buffalo all of a sudden or whatnot, or Mahomes himself, but he did not suck.
01:43If he can get rid of the fumble, 245 yards, two TDs, 28 for 39, that's really good.
01:51So we'll see what happens with Zach Wilson going forward.
01:54The Eagles...
01:55I mean, we got Denver next.
01:57We ought to be able to...
01:58He ought to be able to do something.
01:59You should win.
02:00You should...
02:00The Broncos are a disaster.
02:03Right, right.
02:04They've been terrible.
02:06Well, you got a big game tonight with your Giants.
02:08Damn straight.
02:09We'll get to that in a second, but the Eagles, they got past the Commanders in overtime.
02:1234-31.
02:14Philly QB.
02:14Jalen Hurts threw for 319 yards and two touchdowns.
02:18The Eagles rise to 4-0.
02:20Now, yeah, the Giants take on the Seahawks tonight.
02:24MetLife Stadium.
02:25Monday night football matchup.
02:27Giants come into the game at 1-2.
02:29Seattle is 2-1.
02:31Sad to say.
02:32I'm taking Seattle tonight.
02:34Oh, come on.
02:35Mm-hmm.
02:36I'm going G-Man, baby.
02:38And I'll be watching the Manning cast for this.
02:40I love hearing Eli talk about the Giants because he kind of...
02:44He does root for the team.
02:46He doesn't even lie about, hey, I'm going to be very subjective tonight.
02:50Of course he should.
02:52Baseball, we've got breaking news out of the Mets organization as the Mets have fired
02:56manager Buck Showalter.
02:58Just two years after winning National League Manager of the Year.
03:03Mets are 74-87 with their final game scheduled today because of a rain delay.
03:09But Buck will not be managing on the season finale.
03:13Buck and the Mets were 101-61 last season.
03:19Unbelievable.
03:20And then this year, he's gone.
03:22Phillies, they ended up beating the Mets in Buck's last game, 9-1, as the Phillies are
03:28headed to the MLB postseason.
03:31Now, the Yankees lost to the Royals in their last game of the year, 5-2.
03:36Talk about managers who need to be fired.
03:38Well, the Yankees will finish at 82-80.
03:41They will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
03:45And we will see if any heads roll in the organization.
03:47There better be some heads rolling.
03:48Yankee owner Hal Steinbrenner says the team will have a thorough investigation into the
03:54analytics department and the front office.
03:57They got to fire Cashman.
03:59It's as simple as that.
03:59Sounds to me like he's already looking to fire some staffers instead of the problems.
04:03Yeah.
04:04Well, he's got to fire Cashman.
04:06The Boone thing is dicey.
04:08Because Aaron Judge keeps speaking publicly about how much he thinks Aaron Boone is a great
04:14manager and how much he supports Aaron Boone.
04:17That's your captain.
04:18That's your, you know, 6'8 megastar.
04:21And he came out after the game yesterday and also endorsed Boone yet again.
04:26Yeah, I know.
04:26So that's dicey.
04:27But, you know, if you can get a guy like Mattingly or Joe Madden, maybe you make that move.
04:33And lastly, basketball, the Celtics got a little bit better.
04:37They traded for all-star guard Drew Holiday of the Trailblazers.
04:42Celtics send Robert Williams III and guard Malcolm Brogdon to Portland for Drew Holiday.
04:48And that is your quick look at sports.
04:50Coming up.
