00:00Dave Sports, what do we got?
00:01Well, we're going to start with football where we had that very frightening incident on Monday night football last night,
00:08which led to the game getting postponed.
00:09And what happened was Buffalo Bills safety DeMar Hamlin collapsed on the field in the first quarter against the Cincinnati Bengals.
00:17He is in critical condition.
00:19They are saying he suffered from cardiac arrest shortly after he made a tackle on Bengals receiver T. Higgins.
00:28What was scary was that it was a pretty standard tackle.
00:32It was not the head-on, head-on violent collision that you oftentimes see in the NFL.
00:38It just seemed like a pretty standard tackle where the receiver went into the safety DeMar Hamlin's chest.
00:46He got up on his feet and then he immediately fell backwards, pretty lifeless.
00:51That was the really scary, disturbing footage.
00:54He then had CPR administered to him on the field for several minutes.
01:01They said his heart had stopped on the field.
01:03They saved his life.
01:05CPR then was administered and he was then taken by ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
01:12As of last night, he was in critical condition.
01:15No word on exactly what's happened except that he suffered a cardiac arrest.
01:20He's just 24 years old.
01:22Remember the incident with the Florida quarterback Tua with the fingers and all that?
01:29Tago Laiavoa, yes.
01:31That injury.
01:32That was awful.
01:32That injury happened on the same field.
01:34He was brought to the same hospital.
01:36Isn't that crazy?
01:37That's disturbing.
01:38Cincinnati.
01:39What does that say?
01:40What I said before, I hate to bring this up, but you see so many awful collisions in football sometimes and the guys will walk away.
01:53This was so disturbing because it was a pretty standard tackle.
01:58It almost made me think of Dale Earnhardt Sr. in which his car went into the wall in a way that wasn't as scary as other crashes we've seen in NASCAR.
02:08And yet what happened was, of course, we all know Dale Earnhardt Sr. died.
02:11Right, right, right.
02:12And this was a standard tackle, and it's like the guy's in critical condition.
02:15I'm very sad for this gentleman.
02:18I hope he pulls through.
02:19I hope a miracle happens.
02:21I read something about blunt force trauma to the chest and having to do with the timing of it, that if it is timed by random coincidence with the electrical pulse that the heart is getting that makes it beat,
02:39that that blunt force trauma, if time with that pulse, can stop the heart.
02:46Oh, boy.
02:47Scary, scary thought.
02:48And obviously, you know, we're going to be looking to get updates as the day progresses.
02:55And at some point, we've got to figure out what happens with the game.
02:58I don't think that talk is for now.
03:00No, no, no.
03:00Yeah, the game, you know, I don't know what the hell you do with the game.
03:05I know that both teams, I believe, aren't making the playoffs, so maybe this is a scenario where you tell both teams, you chalk it up to a tie, and you just say, hey, let's just leave it at that.
03:16Who cares?
03:17I don't know.
03:18But scary incident with DeMar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills.
03:23Hopefully, he will be okay.
03:26Basketball.
03:26The Knicks crushed the Phoenix Suns yesterday, 102-83.
03:30Julius Randle led the way for the Knicks with 28 points.
03:33Point guard Jalen Brunson had 24 points in his return from injury.
03:38And the Knicks have won two in a row and are 20-18 for the year.
03:42Meanwhile, the Nets are the hottest team in the NBA.
03:45Brooklyn has won 11 in a row as the Nets destroyed the Spurs yesterday, 139-103.
03:53Kyrie Irving had 27 points.
03:55Kevin Durant added 25 as the Nets are now 25-12 all of a sudden.
04:01Pretty amazing.
04:01The 76ers defeated the Pelicans, 120-111.
04:05Phillies' Joel Embiid had 42 points and 11 rebounds in the Sixers' victory.

04:13Huge story out of Jersey as the Rutgers Scarlet Knights upset the number one ranked team in the
04:19nation, Purdue, last night on a buzzer beater, 65-64.
04:25How about that, huh?
04:26Unbelievable and even crazier, it's the second straight season.
04:30Rutgers has upset top-ranked Purdue.
04:34How about that?
04:34We're in the Boilermakers' heads.
04:36Wow.
04:37The Scarlet Knights are in the Boilermakers' heads.
04:40It's official.
04:41Wow.
04:41Two years in a row.
04:42Good for them.
04:43Scarlet has taken down the number one team in both of the times.
04:45That was Purdue.
04:46It's amazing.
04:47That's incredible.
04:47And they're playing pretty well right now.
04:49I believe their record is 10-4 in conference.
04:52Hockey, the Flyers beat the Ducks 4-1.
04:55The Devils and Rangers were inactive.
04:58Tonight, the Rangers face the Hurricanes at Madison Square Garden.
