00:00Dave, Quick Sports, what do you got?
00:02Okay, well, we're going to start with football,
00:03where the Ravens beat the Saints on Monday night football, 27-13.
00:09Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson threw for 133 yards.
00:13A touchdown also ran for 82 yards, and the Ravens improved to 6-3.
00:18The Saints dropped to 3-6.
00:21Now, congrats to Tammy from Brick,
00:23as Tammy correctly predicted 12 out of 13 games
00:27and wins Week 9 of the Rats Pro Football Pick'em Challenge.
00:31Wow, 12 out of 13, almost a perfect week.
00:34That's right, and Tammy picks up a $25 gift certificate
00:37to Joey D's Pizza, which is always really good.
00:41Joey D's Pizza and Tom's River, go check it out.
00:44Baseball, first baseman Anthony Rizzo officially opted out
00:47of his contract with the Yankees.
00:49Rizzo is now officially a free agent.
00:51Rizzo hit .224 with 32 home runs and 75 RBIs.
00:56We'll see if the Yankees bring him back.
00:59They could simply bring Rizzo back.
01:00The one thing that's concerning me is we know for a fact
01:04that Rizzo became really, really, really close with Aaron Judge.
01:09Judge is best friends with Stanton and Rizzo.
01:13And with Rizzo opting out, does he know something that we don't know?
01:17Does he say, I'm opting out because Judge is out of here?
01:20Right, right, right.
01:20That concerns me.
01:21Did you see the picture of Aaron Judge and Stanton at the marathon with his wife?
01:28Yes, I did.
01:28That was kind of cool.
01:29That was good.
01:30That was kind of cool.
01:31The fact that he's in the vibe of New York City.
01:34That's good.
01:35That seemed like a good sign.
01:36That's a positive sign.
01:37So I guess, you know, I mean, honestly, with the Yankees,
01:39I guess you're just going to keep moving on with Brian Cashman.
01:42I mean, it's like insane.
01:45We're just going to do this every year where we're going to say Brian Cashman ruined a season
01:50and they're just never going to fire this guy after nearly 25 years as the general manager.
01:58We can't get new blood in here.
01:59I mean, what happens first?
02:01Do they re-sign Cashman or do they re-sign the players and then find a new GM?
02:06No!
02:06You would think if you're going to get a new GM, you're going to do that first.
02:10Absolutely.
02:10You get the general manager and then the new general manager gets the pieces.
02:16Is there any time to do that, though?
02:18The new GM, priority number one should be to re-sign Aaron Judge,
02:23literally give him a blank check and say whatever it is that you want.
02:26We're going to give it to you.
02:27And then number two, start getting the free agents and superstars that this team needs to get over the hump.
02:34Oh, I agree.
02:35They need superstars to get over the hump, not the IKFs of the world.
02:38No question is if they get rid of Cashman as GM, is there enough time?
02:44What do you call up the agents for all these players and say, yeah, give us about three days because we're going to get rid of our GM and we need some time.
02:51No, I think Hal Steinbrenner could say, listen, Aaron, we're still going to give Aaron Judge close to $400 million.
02:56So we just got to find a GM.
02:58And then you say this, and if you're the Yankees, there's a general manager out there.
03:03Because other teams are talking to these guys now, right?
03:06Yes, but Hal Steinbrenner can do that himself.
03:08He is the owner and he's the billionaire and he should be getting his rear end out of his chair and making some of these phone calls himself.
03:16But also, there's a GM out there.
03:19His name is Theo Epstein.
03:21This is a guy who certainly done it before.
03:25He broke the Red Sox curse of 84 years.
03:28He broke the Cubs curse of over 100 years.
03:32He won championships with both of those organizations.
03:35And he's just working for Major League Baseball right now, voluntarily so.
03:39He's never been fired.
03:40He left the Red Sox job.
03:41He left the Cubs job after winning rings.
03:44Why don't the Yankees get this guy?
03:45It seems like a natural, to be honest.
03:47I mean, I've been screaming about this forever.
03:49Let's go.
03:50Because I'm going to tell you what.
03:51We're going to be here next year doing the same thing.
03:54If Brian Cashman stays and Hal Steinbrenner remains cheap, we're just going to be doing this forever.
04:00Meanwhile, the Mets, not cheap.
04:01They gave Edwin Diaz $100 million for five years, making him the first closer to make $20 million a year.
04:09Basketball, the Knicks beat the T-Wolves last night, 120-107.
04:12Julius Randle, 34 points, 8 rebounds.
04:16Nets lost to the Mavericks, 96-94.
04:18They fall to 4-7.
04:20Sixers defeated the Suns, 100-88.
04:22Joel Embiid, 33 points, 10 rebounds.
04:25Hockey, Devils, Rangers, Flyers all inactive last night.
04:29All three teams play tonight.
04:31That's your quick look at sports.
04:32Hey.
