00:00Hooked up by 1-800-ASK-GARY.
00:02Now, who's taking the stand?
00:04Oh, that would be me.
00:05It's actually supposed to be Orlando,
00:08but O is out of town right now,
00:10so I am taking his place.
00:12And our boy Buck, our videographer,
00:15who, if you ever watch the Plead the Fifth videos
00:17on wild94.1.com, Buck puts all those together.
00:21He will be asking that extra question
00:24since Orlando is out.
00:26He makes appearances every now and then.
00:28You hear him.
00:28Some get in trouble.
00:29Yeah.
00:29In the house, maybe.
00:31Meredith, getting me in trouble all the time.
00:34So we have three questions in the room,
00:37three questions from the listeners.
00:38We have one Plead and one Boomerang.
00:42Buck, what's up to you, brother?
00:44I'm up.
00:44All right.
00:46Davi, so you're an entrepreneur.
00:49You're all about getting that cheddar.
00:51I'm trying to, bro.
00:52The cheddar?
00:53Right?
00:53You've started some business opportunities for yourself.
00:56I'm working on it, homie.
00:57So if you could go around the room and just let us know if we could focus on one thing,
01:04whether it be radio or anything else or something, a skill we have, what would it be?
01:08How do we get that cheddar?
01:10How do you get the cheddar?
01:11So what to improve on our lives that we can make more money?
01:15Yeah.
01:15Like, what's one thing?
01:16Like, let's say Meredith, you know, likes to adopt cats.
01:20Yeah.
01:20Maybe she should quit radio and adopt cats more.
01:23All right, Buck, you are a very talented videographer, and I know you kind of already do this a little bit, but I think you should start chasing some checks by going and doing, like, the wedding videos, the wedding photos, getting to those packages.
01:43Because being somebody that does weddings, like, on the DJ side, I know there's a lot of money to be made, and I see a lot of the same people working weddings over and over again, meaning that I feel like there's a need in the market, or at least a place where you could get in.
02:01And it's fun, man.
02:02I absolutely love it.
02:03I have a blast doing it, so I know you would, too.
02:05So that's a big bag that you could grab.
02:09Yeah, you're missing out on.
02:10Yep.
02:10I like that.
02:11Meredith, Meredith's very trendy.
02:13Meredith always knows what's going on around in the city, what's the new, what's the latest.
02:19She's also, and Orlando points this out all the time, she's great at spending other people's money.
02:24I am.
02:24So I think.
02:25Suggesting things.
02:26Maybe being, like, what are those, like, the shoppers.
02:29Personal shoppers.
02:30A personal shopper for somebody that will kind of use your talents.
02:33All right.
02:33It's not your money.
02:34You can still stay trendy, and I think that would be a perfect avenue for you.
02:40Like it.
02:40Mark, I tell, Mark and I have had this discussion before, too.
02:45Mark used to DJ in Chicago, and I think Mark should pick it back up.
02:50I think there's a lot of money to be made out here.
02:53Maybe, Mark's a big fan of, like, dive bars and going to, like, little spots.
02:57Not like a big, like, club guy, but, you know, he knows that bar scene.
03:00I think it would be a home run if Mark started doing that little DJ circuit.
03:06You know, getting some bread to spin at the bars that you're already frequenting.
03:11Yeah.
03:11It's a small investment in the equipment.
03:14You'll make that money back in a couple weeks, and it's just passive, easy, fun income.
03:20For sure.
03:21Yeah.
03:21I mean, I do miss DJing quite a bit.
03:23The only difference is, back in Chicago, I would spin at, like, big clubs, you know,
03:27and there's only a couple here.
03:28Yeah, but you don't want to be at those big clubs.
03:30Well, the music, I do.
03:32But, yeah, just being in there every weekend.
03:34We hear what you play in the car.
03:36It's super consuming, man.
03:38Like, it takes over your body.
03:39Absolutely.
03:40And that's why I suggested.
03:42The beach bars are, like, just easy, no work.
03:44The spots that you already go to.
03:46You know, you just hit play.
03:47And you probably already know the manager's money.
03:51Of course.
03:51There you go.
03:51At least the bartenders.
03:52I want 10% of each.
03:53All right.
03:56Davi, you've done a lot in your life so far, and I want to know.
04:01Sounds like a memoir.
04:01What do you consider to be the highlight of your life at this moment?
04:09The highlight of my life.
04:11I would say, professionally, the highlight is undoubtedly getting on the freak show.
04:18I'll never forget being at my parents' house with a bottle of champagne when I told him that.
04:25Like, my dad, all he wanted was me to get a full-time job.
04:28Right.
04:29Could have been at Home Depot.
04:30You've been doing this radio thing for a long time.
04:35Do they know that you—
04:36So when I went and I was able to tell him, yo, I'm going to be on a morning show.
04:41It's full-time.
04:42I have insurance.
04:44That was real big for him.
04:47That was a highlight.
04:50Personally, I would say probably, like, graduating high school and college are both a highlight.
04:58High school because I think a lot of people—
05:02Didn't expect you to graduate?
05:05Yeah.
05:05Didn't expect me to.
05:07And not only that, told a lot of people around me that they didn't think I would.
05:12And in college, because I don't think I believed in myself enough that I could, like, really go through with it.
05:20And, you know, it was a school with a very high failure rate.
05:24And a lot of people I saw drop out, not make it.
05:27And, you know, there was points where I had, like, doubt that—I was like, yo, this is too hard.
05:30This is too much.
05:31And, you know, to be able to go through with it, that was definitely a highlight.
05:35All right.
05:35There you go.
05:36All right.
05:37Marcus.
05:38Davi.
05:38The emailer.
05:39All right.
05:39If I told you that you had 24 hours left to live, that is it.
05:46These are deep questions.
05:47I like this one.
05:49Yeah.
05:49What are you going to do?
05:51How are you going to spend your 24 hours?
05:53Who are you going to be with?
05:55Where are you going to go?
05:57What are you going to say?
05:58What are you going to do?
05:59All those.
05:59I'm going to get my girl and, like, my family and go to my parents' house and just hang out there.
06:08Okay.
06:09Just sit at the parents' house.
06:10Yep.
06:10Wouldn't want to jump on a jet with parents, go see some last location you've never been to.
06:16No.
06:16You don't want to go to the homeland, no Costa Rica.
06:18Come on, man.
06:20No.
06:20I would sit in the living room with my mom and my dad and my parents.
06:24Did you drink?
06:24And my parents.
06:25I'd drink.
06:26Yeah.
06:26You'd think you'd need a drink.
06:27Among other things, probably.
06:29Yeah.
06:29I would sit there, tell stories, and just be grateful.
06:35Take in all the ones that are closest to you.
06:37Man, if I had 24 hours to live, I would say that I was, you know, I lived a good life.
06:44It's so sad.
06:46But I did a lot of, you know, what I wanted to do and a lot of things that, like, I feel a lot of my friends and people that I know kind of live vicariously through me.
06:56Yeah.
06:57So I would take that as, like, you know, you did it and you did it on your own terms.
07:01So, but, yeah, definitely it would be with my parents at their house just kind of reminiscent.
07:06All right.
07:07Three down, three to go.
07:08888-429-0941.
07:10If you have a question for me, hit us up.
07:12I am on the stand.
07:13We are three questions down.
07:15I haven't had to use my plea yet.
07:18And I still have the boomerang if we feel like it's necessary.
07:24So 888-429-0941.
07:26You can call us or shoot us a text.
07:28What should we do?
07:29Should we call, get the phone calls or a text?
07:31Phone call.
07:32I have Rebecca on the line.
07:33So, Davi, here's my question for you.
07:36So I follow everyone on Instagram.
07:40I love the show.
07:42And so when I comment, Orlando, Mark, and Meredith, like, all respond.
07:48But you don't.
07:49And so I was just really wondering why.
07:52Yeah.
07:52And then also I was wondering.
07:54So I recently had a baby.
07:56Very exciting.
07:57And so was kind of charting my pregnancy on Instagram.
08:01And then I noticed that you unfollowed me.
08:04I got to say, did you unfollow me because I was pregnant?
08:10Probably.
08:13We have no news for you at that point.
08:16You're gone.
08:17I've kind of made that kind of like that's one of the things that I do.
08:20If I don't know you, and you know what, if I was following you, it was probably because
08:25I thought you were a good-looking girl.
08:27But if I don't know you personally, and then you get pregnant, a lot of times, most of the
08:33time, I unfollow.
08:35It's just that thing that I do.
08:37Because what I followed you for no longer is the thing that's going on on your Instagram.
08:44You're not hot anymore because she's pregnant?
08:46Well, then it starts to become about the baby, about the pregnancy, about the relationship.
08:50I don't want to see that.
08:50How dare she?
08:51I don't really want to see that.
08:52What was the first part about-
08:54Commenting on photos.
08:55You know, that's true.
08:56Because I've tagged you in some stuff, and you don't ever hit me back.
08:59That's true.
09:00Like some UFO stuff.
09:01Yeah.
09:02I'm not- I'm guilty of this, for sure.
09:07I'll like it.
09:08But I don't do a lot of commenting.
09:11It's probably something I should work on.
09:14I'm also bad at texting back.
09:17Oh, my God.
09:18Yeah.
09:18It's just one of those things.
09:20I try not to be on my phone all day.
09:22I end up being- but I don't know.
09:24Maybe it's something I need to work on.
09:26But like I see- oh, one thing I see Orlando do is like when it's his birthday, and he'll
09:32get 600 happy birthday comments, he'll send 600 replies.
09:37Yeah.
09:37Like individually.
09:38That's a lot of work.
09:39I'm like, boy, I ain't- I mean, no, I don't want to do all that.
09:42He's like, I don't want to.
09:43Yeah.
09:43I'm not here for that.
09:44So if I didn't comment back, I apologize.
09:48If I unfollowed you, I don't apologize.
09:51Because that's- I don't know.
09:53That's just my thing.
09:54If I know you personally, and I have some kind of like, I don't know, stake in really
10:00a relationship with you, then I wouldn't do that.
10:03But if it was just somebody that I don't really know, I don't really-
10:06I have a good Plead the Fifth question for you that just got texted in.
10:10Okay.
10:10Has any of these questions from Plead the Fifth gotten you in trouble with your girl?
10:15And if so, which one was it and what happened?
10:21I've gotten in trouble with my girl in the past with this show.
10:25Um, I don't know if it was necessarily Plead the Fifth.
10:30The one, believe it or not, out of all of the crazy things that we've talked about, the
10:35one time she got the maddest at me was the whole garage door thing.
10:38Yeah.
10:39When I woke her up at like five o'clock in the morning.
10:41I didn't hear the follow-up about this, though.
10:44Follow-up was she was pissed.
10:47Okay.
10:48Um, Plead the Fifth sometimes gets me in trouble.
10:52I can't really remember the specific ones, but the way it always happens, it's always
10:57the same.
10:58She doesn't hear it.
10:59She always hears it from somebody else who-
11:02It makes it worse.
11:03It's out of context.
11:04Yeah.
11:04They don't get it right.
11:06So that's usually how it happens.
11:09But, um, I'm not as bad as Meredith.
11:11Meredith seems to get in trouble almost every time that she's here.
11:15Yeah, I think he stopped listening to the Monday show.
11:17Because before he used to love it, he used to listen all the time, all this and that.
11:20And then it started dropping off.
11:23My girl listens.
11:23My girl, more than anything, listens to like Spanish music.
11:27So she doesn't catch this segment very often.
11:29If she does, it's like third party telling her, which is sometimes can be, it depends
11:35on who's telling her.
11:36But technically, usually I don't get in too much trouble.
11:39I have one last one.
11:41Okay.
11:41Are you ready?
11:42Okay.
11:42Davi, have you ever used your status with the radio to get a hookup?
11:47Like if you were just an average Joe, it would not have happened.
11:51But since you're on the radio, it went down.
11:54This could be either at a restaurant or girls.
11:56Tell me.
11:57Let me tell you something.
12:00I'm going to second everything this man says right now.
12:03Listen, we're all guilty of it.
12:05We've all done it.
12:07Do it weekly.
12:07The answer is yes.
12:12I'm not that guy.
12:14I'm not like name dropping.
12:15I'm definitely, definitely not like that.
12:18Don't you know who I am guy?
12:19I think that's the absolute lamest thing.
12:22But if I'm trying to get a hookup, I might let it come up like in casual conversation.
12:27Something.
12:28Do you really?
12:28Sneak it in there.
12:29I might slide it in there.
12:31Because I was going to say, like, I get it.
12:32With the women thing, it just happens.
12:34The most fun, and you know what's funny, is I don't do it, like, very often to get
12:40a hookup.
12:41But, like, if I am threatening to put somebody on blast, oh, baby.
12:47You want to know what I'm doing Monday morning?
12:49I wish you would tune in at 730 on wild941.com.
12:53What was your name?
12:54What's your manager's name?
12:55What's your boss's name?
12:56No, I really haven't done that.
12:59I haven't had to do it.
13:00I've threatened to put somebody on blast like that.
13:03But you know what?
13:04Honestly, we're all, I think we're all guilty of that.
13:06A little bit.
13:07What about with chicks?
13:08With chicks?
13:10Yeah.
13:12All right, I think that's a wrap.
13:14Yeah, and I think that is a wrap.
13:18Orlando and the Freak Show.
13:19Okay, now I'm going to check my phone and see how much trouble I got in.
13:21For real.
13:22But your workday kickoff starts in 15 minutes.
13:26If you have something that you want to hear, 888-429-0941.
13:30Hit us up.
13:30We'll make it happen.
13:32And I'm going to see how much trouble I got in.
