00:00In Ecuador, amidst the violence crisis faced by the country, the general elections keep moving

00:05forward and at least 13 million citizens have already been called to take part in the decisive

00:10event to be held on February 9th. For the elections, a total of 16 presidential candidates

00:16were formally registered before the National Electoral Council, who aspire to become the next

00:22president of the country for the 2025-2029 term. However, a few days before the campaign's closure

00:29and in the midst of protests driven by the increase of insecurity and the economic crisis,

00:34the candidates intensified their electoral propaganda with caravans and visitors

00:39to neighborhoods to attract more votes. Nevertheless, in spite of the protests,

00:45the electoral race is moving forward and the elections are expected to take place without any

00:50mischief.
