00:00It will feel a lot nicer though.
00:02Don't get used to it because we have
00:04more shots of cold frigid air.
00:06It's been a very, very cold.
00:08Starts 2025 a cold end to 2024.
00:10Now this weekend we're anticipating
00:12more activity across the East,
00:14at least when it comes to that
00:16mix of winter weather.
00:17We have the snow,
00:18we have the ice,
00:20and we also have the rain now.
00:22Further South is really just
00:23going to be a rain event.
00:25This is just the precursor though,
00:27because once that cold starts,
00:29because once that cold air really
00:31solidifies itself across the southern
00:32states, that's with our next storm.
00:34Going to change that rain over to
00:36more icy and snow chances further
00:38towards the North, the Mid Atlantic.
00:40After the Ohio Valley will see a
00:42little bit of a mix there that goes
00:44up and down that I-95 corridor and
00:46even some snow across the interior.
00:48Northeast,
00:49let's focus on the rain though first
00:51where we are anticipating drenching
00:53showers to take hold that goes
00:54anywhere across the Gulf Coast at
00:56I-10 corridor that does include
00:58Panhandle, Southern Louisiana,
00:59New Orleans.
00:59It's going to be quite wet and this
01:02graphic goes from Friday night
01:04through Saturday evening.
01:05While this is happening,
01:06we have winter weather to
01:07talk about in the North.
01:09This is where we have that snow
01:11building Friday night through
01:12Saturday and also we have that
01:14ice up and down the spine of the
01:16Appalachians heads up areas like
01:18Roanoke could see some slippery
01:19travel a general one to three
01:21inches though so we aren't
01:23talking a big snow event.
01:24Though as this storm does push East,
01:27we are anticipating a little bit more
01:29snow Saturday night through Sunday night.
01:31Right there along Southern New England
01:33and even the Laurel Highlands and down
01:35through the mountains of West Virginia.
01:37We are anticipating about three to six
01:39year accurate local storm X holes at 12 inches.
