00:00That sunshine is going to give way to some snow returning and the colder air is still certainly with us. Temperatures will be running 10 to 20 degrees below historical averages.
00:08Right now, we're just beginning to cool down in southeast Virginia, but the rest of us have begun to feel it today, especially in the interior.
00:15And it'll be a hard freeze tonight for the Ohio Valley and tomorrow night for the Chesapeake Bay region.
00:20So Tuesday, this is when we see these rounds of snow showers moving through many areas, downwind of Lake Erie and downwind of Lake Ontario,
00:27and even separate from the lakes over parts of the New England states.
00:30There's a zone of low pressure that's going to be scooting across northern New England,
00:34and that in conjunction with our high-pressure system over Evansville, Indiana, directing that cold flow from the northwest.
00:41So when it comes to the snow, we will be dealing with some accumulating snow in some areas.
00:45We'll show you future radar in a moment.
00:47But accumulating snow right now is most widespread in southern Ontario.
00:50It's going to be moving into northern New York and into the green and white mountains and parts of Maine during the day tomorrow
00:56with some lingering snow showers in other areas.
00:58So here is an updated look at our winter weather advisories.
01:01Caribou, Millinocket, Holton and Presque Isle, Bangor, Maine under winter weather advisories.
01:06There's Watertown, New York as well, and other spots off to the south like Oswego, New York.
01:12Good to see some snow. Winter weather advisories still on the map.
01:15So you can see these bursts of snow through Watertown and especially into northern New England as well during the day on Thursday.
01:21Northern Maine will hold on to the snow longest here.
01:24This is a steady snow through Tuesday afternoon and into the evening.
01:27Then as that pulls away, we'll have a couple of little filaments of lake effect snow here.
01:32There's even a warm front-like feature associated with some of this here that will bring a little bit of a burst of moisture
01:37and a little help there with the lake effect.
01:40But eventually as we are going to be stepping into Wednesday evening, a bona fide storm system brings us some rain.
01:46No severe weather with this. That's the good news.
01:48But some rain, at least not much of any severe weather in the northeast.
01:51But we'll be dealing with some soaking rain and even some wet snowflakes at night during a few periods of time up into the higher ground.
01:58So Wednesday, cool, but here comes the rain with this next disturbance into Indiana and Illinois.
02:03And as we look at Wednesday's highs, still a little chilly.
02:07Not as cold as tomorrow in some spots, but still we're struggling.
02:10Beautiful sunshine in Boston, but only 47.
02:13Partly sunny in 48 for Wednesday's high in New York City.
02:1654 in D.C., 55 in Charleston.
02:19But here come the showers into Columbus, Ohio, and it's kind of a cold rain, 46.
02:23So again, there are some areas where baseball practice for the youngsters being postponed or canceled because of cold more than moisture.
02:32And as this next system sets in, you can see it will bring some more rain and snow mixed into northern New York
02:37and the northern tier of Pennsylvania with showers and again, not much lightning.
02:41It's just a little cool and stable for that.
