00:00so we take a look at radar we are seeing areas that are getting snow and some wintry mix here
00:04earlier today we saw heavy rain in the bay area that's past us it's just lighter rain now and
00:09that rain is starting to move south towards los angeles as well now i mentioned the bay area
00:14specifically because while the heavy rain is over we are now watching the gusty winds more than 40
00:19mile per hour wind gusts right now in san francisco this has ranged from 40 to 30 mile per hour wind
00:24gusts over the last couple of hours and we expect it to continue as we head throughout the evening
00:29overnight and into tomorrow things will ease up though and improve as far as the gusty winds
00:34here's the overall snapshot for this storm as a whole the areas that are going to be impacted
00:39and what type of precipitation they will see but let's break it down further on future radar and
00:44kind of how this plays out now first we're stopping at 7 a.m friday we're still seeing
00:49snow into oregon especially some lingering snow into california but la you're the main event at
00:55this point getting that beneficial rainfall and you can see on future radar it is scattered rain
01:01so as far as rain totals we're talking half an inch of rain in downtown la itself closer to
01:07an inch for the foothills nearby and that's why we're seeing beneficial rainfall now one thing
01:11to keep in mind we do have to look out for those burn scar areas especially the fresh ones because
01:16that's where we could run into some mudslide issues even though it's you know lower rain
01:21totals take a look at what happens as we go throughout the day friday really this storm
01:24moves further inland in california you start to dry out and really the whole pacific northwest
01:30you really get a mostly dry weekend ahead a break from the stormy pattern overall but for
01:35our mountain passes here's a quick look at what to expect snow wise most of us looking at multiple
01:40feet of snow or at least more than a foot of snow
