00:00We're also watching out for some heavy rainfall continuing here across parts of the Gulf Coast.
00:04You can see widespread showers and thunderstorms continuing, especially across the Florida Panhandle.
00:08We also have a couple of isolated thunderstorms lifting to the north through parts of Alabama and into Georgia.
00:14As right now, none of these storms are severe, but they are producing a lot of lightning.
00:18Taking the lightning off so you can actually see the intensity of the overall rain,
00:21and you can see that we have some pockets of heavy rain lifting their way to the north.
00:25The overall storm motion is going to be northward, moving about 20, 30 miles an hour.
00:29So these storms aren't moving very fast.
00:32And unfortunately, whenever you get heavy rainfall moving slow over one particular area,
00:36that is what allows those rain gauges to really fill up.
00:40So we are going to be watching out for an elevated and an increasing flood risk across this region here
00:45as we have throughout the next couple of hours.
00:47But in addition to the Gulf Coast, we're also watching out for a risk of severe weather here across the East Coast as well.
00:52We had a severe thunderstorm warning earlier near Virginia Beach.
00:55We're also watching out for showers and storms here lining up across a majority of the East Coast,
01:00including the Atlantic Coast there in Florida.
01:03And it's going to be those storms there in Florida that we're mainly watching out for as far as any type of severe weather,
01:09even any rotating thunderstorms to produce large hail, even a tornado threat.
01:13So we'll keep you up to date with that.
01:15But after tonight, we'll be watching out primarily for a stormy stretch of weather here as we have throughout the weekend.
01:20We're going to be tracking rounds of showers and drenching thunderstorms across this region.
01:25How much rainfall are we expected to see?
01:27Well, as you can see right here, parts of Florida, parts of Georgia,
01:30we're forecasting anywhere between four to eight inches of total rainfall.
01:34So we're going to be watching out for flash flooding increasing across this region.
01:38And you can see right here, this is what we're primarily watching out for that flood risk as we head throughout the weekend and into Monday.
01:43So for Saturday, widespread showers, widespread thunderstorms here across the Southeast.
01:47Heading into Sunday, however, we will be watching out for, in addition to the flooding threat,
01:52a risk of severe weather with large hail and damaging winds being possible with any of the storms that form there Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening.
01:59So for Mother's Day across the Southeast, you may have to bring those outdoor plans inside.
