End of an Era: What Women Want Bra Shop Set To Close After 21 Years in Newport

00:00where we are. Well I'm Sandra and I'm Julie and we are in Newport Shropshire

00:04with What Women Want. It's been a long hard decision to be honest. This is our baby and

00:13we've thoroughly enjoyed our 21 years. It's been really really good. Lots of laughs, lots of tears

00:20along the way. Yeah. Yes. And it's a really friendly industry to be in as well. From the

00:26reps to the trade fairs, the suppliers. They're so friendly. It is a lovely industry to be

00:34in. And we'll be sad to stop. And we don't want it to stop. We want it to continue in

00:42Newport. Our lovely customers in Newport have supported us for many, many years. Very loyal

00:48haven't we? Yeah, absolutely. And we would just love it to continue. We don't want it

00:54to disappear because we know this shop is needed. Well, 21 years ago, being large busted ourselves,

01:04we were travelling to Chester, to Solihull to find the supported bras that we needed.

01:12So we got our heads together and started our own business. Yes. We said there's a gap in

01:17the market. We need something closer to home for all the ladies in the same predicament.

01:22And here we are. Well, to be honest, you do get a lot of satisfaction. We get many ladies

01:30that come in with aches and pains. They've been putting up with an ill-fitting bra for so

01:36long, they don't know which way to turn. And when they leave us, they're happy. They're smiling.

01:42Yes. There is a great deal of satisfaction, actually, in fitting somebody with the right

01:48size bra. A lot of ladies go out wearing what they've bought. And that is a sign of good

01:53service, I think. Yes. Yeah. It'll be a very sad day, I must say. And we've had a lot of

02:01people coming in that have heard that we are hoping to retire, saying that we will be sadly

02:06missed. Yeah. And we're on first name terms with so many of our customers. They're more

02:12like friends than customers. And it will be really sad. Yeah. A lot of tears, I'm sure.
