00:28The United Kingdom and its allies from all around the globe celebrated VE Day
00:38The end of the war in Europe
00:42Today, as we come together to commemorate what came to be known as VE Day
00:51Our thoughts turn to the thanksgiving and remembrance of those millions that gave so much to achieve the freedom we all enjoy today
01:05We remember those we lost
01:09Those who were wounded or scarred
01:13Those whose lives were changed forever by war
01:19Nobody was immune from that conflict
01:25Let us pause to remember their sacrifice
01:31We reflect too upon the words of our late and glorious Queen Elizabeth
01:43Never give up
01:45Never despair
01:47And so we offer thanksgiving for the selflessness of those who gave up so much
01:57In order that future generations should enjoy the blessings of freedom, democracy and peace
02:09God save the King
